Rowan finished his speech to Rosemary, but he wasn’t able to hear if she appreciated it or not because almost immediately his attention was drawn to Isabella standing up and taking a deep breath. He listened and thought the person she thanks might be him since she said the person she drew helped her become the person who she is today, but honestly that could be a handful of people he knew. He was about to take drink his water when Isabella said the name. When he heard the name [color= #CF1C2D]“Isla Katz”[/color] it shocked him so much he did a spit take. He looked at Isabella and Isla as Isabella thanked the very person who made her so angry earlier that she had to cool herself off at the bar. Rowan was proud of her speech though. She kept it clean and didn’t let anybody on to the fact she didn’t actually like Isla. She hid her dislike the same way Rowan was doing for years and he was happy that she didn’t make a fool of herself, although secretly he wanted Isabella to do something a little be outrageous so he could save her from the press and seem like the hero to her, in which case she would be the damsel in distress. Isla was visibly upset by the fact Isabella added the word usually when she said that Isla is an amazing person. Rowan was surprised she wasn’t happier with that speech since Isla must’ve known Isabella didn’t exactly like her at this moment and could’ve been truthful and started name-calling or gone for the diss option. Isabella also clocked Isla’s sour expression to that word and Rowan was worried this would be the straw to break the camel’s back when it comes to Isabella’s pretend smiles and politeness. On the other hand, he didn’t want to stop any outbreak Isabella might have because he wanted to see where it would lead. And Isabella made it everybody’s business by getting furious on Isla and started calling her out on getting offended for saying she isn’t always amazing. When she said [color= #CF1C2D]"Yes you are amazing. However, there are times when you aren’t great.[/color] And under his breath he made a refference to one of his favorite comedy movies of the previous century and muttered it under his breath.“Well, nobody’s perfect.”(link) At the end Isa called Isla a b!+ch and although Rowan agreed with her that she was acting bitchy, he wouldn’t have announced it to everybody in the room so when he heard it, his eyes widened in shock. He didn’t know Isa had it in her. Honestly he wanted them to break up the moment they got together becuase by that point he had a nickname for her ‘Issa’ and her girlfriend being called ‘Isla’ was very confusing to him. He wasn’t about to call Isla ‘Katz’ because that sounds like ‘Cats’ and he felt like that would’ve annoyed both him and her. But when Isla said “Why don’t you go cry to Rowan about it …” He shrugged his arms as if to say Why make me a part of this? What did I do to you? but then she continued “… since you’re probably messing around with him just like your costar” and he choked on air hearing that atrocious lie. He is being brought into this so he had to be the voice of reason to break it up, before he sees fake news about him and Isabella everywhere online. He was collecting his thoughts to remeber where to hit Isla so it hurts enough to stop, the real gut punch, but Isabella started shouting at her before he could say anything. They were both pretty riled up by this point which gave Rowan solace because he knew nothing they say at this point will be seen as truth by the media because when people say something calm and collected they seem more truthful then when saying it in an outrage. When Isabella defended herself and Rowan, he didn’t say anything, but only pointed at Isabella when she said [color= #CF1C2D]“Rowan is my manager. That’s all”[/color] as if to say That’s right, she’s telling the truth. And he kept nodding along with her statements. Clearly not wanting to be dragged into this, but wanting to support his client in some way. He didn’t want his silence to be misconstrued as him admitting Isla’s point was true. It was anything but! When Isla retorted with a simple “Well I don’t care about what you are anymore or who you’ve slept with.” and Rowan so wanted to say ‘Well she obviously wasn’t sleeping with you in your relationship, had she done that you wouldn’t be so b!+chy to her today.’ But he couldn’t bring himself to take Isabella’s side … At least not yet. But then, Isla acidentally knocked over a champagne glass with the contents ending up on Isabella’s beautiful red dress. ‘Oh no’ He thought ‘She effed up’ Isabella’s next few words were a blur to Rowan as he wa sfiated on the state of her dress, which wasn’t that bad and she still looked nice in the dress, but the embarasment and the anger she must’ve felt … He couldn’t imagine it. Even though her words were inauible to him, the body language and the tone of her voice were more than enough for Rowan to see where the moment was heading. He wasn’t going to stop her, he didn’t want to stop her from dousing her in whatever she was drinking because he wasn’t about to let Isla get away with picking lies out of her a** especially not when those lies could be turned into rumors and gossip that would haunt Isabella, who hasn’t done anything to deserve something like this.
As he rose from his seat, feeling like this was getting out of control he could see the same body language he recognized in Isabella when Isla’s eyes darkened with malicious intent and went for her own beverage. He could’ve stopped her, he had ample opportunity … But he didn’t want to stop her either. That was enough to make Rowan angry and tired of this whole ordeal. After tossing the drinks at one another, who knows where this could turn, but he had to be domeneering enough to get them to stop acting this way before they both do something they regret more than the things they’ve already done that they will regret shortly.
He grabbed Isabella’s hand furiously to stop her from any more attacks and to have both Isa and Isla pay attention to him when he started shouting.
“THAT IS ENOUGH!!” He let go of Issa’s hand to not hurt her before continuing. “You are both acting like children. Maybe that’s why your relationship failed? There was nobody in there to be the adult. You acted like children then and you’re acting like children now!! One of you jumps to conclusions…” By this he meant Isla. “… and the other to action!” He turned now only to Isla and faced her with years of bottled up anger towards somebody else now finding a bit of release and Isla being it’s target. "AND YOU! You wretched liar! Don’t smugly stand there and accuse my client of an affair which you never looked into and blindly belived. You are now as valiant as Hercules that only tells a lie and swears it! Why from the way you thought your VIRGIN girlfiend was cheating on you with no tangible proof would only lead me to assume you were PROJECTING and that YOU WERE THE ONE CHEATING! Either that or you are really, really gullible. You just say anything that comes to your head with no concern for anybody, withouth caring if it’s true or not. Everything you said tonight that I’ve had the displeasure of hearing was a lie which you based on absolutely nothing. AND MORE SO! He had to take a breath before continung. "And more so you make untrutful allegations willy nilly that could potentionally ruin careeers when you have 0 PROOF OF IT HAPPENING! You said she cheated yet you have no proof. You said I slept with her yet you have no proof of that either … Is anything you say true? You know what Isla … I’ll do you one better. You can find the proof of me EVER being interested in ANY woman romantically. To make your lies even a little bit plausible you’d have to proove I’m heterosexual or at least bisexual. OR proove I’ve had a sexual desire in the last decade! He had calmed down by this point, but he was still angry at her, so in a calmer voice he told her one last thing “Me and Isabella are focused on work most of the time, and we love our jobs. Unlike some who are focused only on s3x and think a person can’t live without it. I’d ask you to tell everybody how even though you two were dating, you’ve never actually slept together, but seeing as you lied through your teeth the entire night and made such stupid allegations I’d think you’d lie about that too. If s3x is what you’re after don’t date somebody as pure as Isabella, and if you do, don’t accuse them of cheating when they don’t sleep with you.” He took Isla’s now empty glass and sniffed it to see if she was drinking some sort of wine or not before taking a napkin. He turned to Isabella and started dabbing at her dress. “No big deal, this can get cleaned easily. Do you want me to grab another dress for you or can you pull through the night in this one?” He asked Isabella.
