When the time came for thanking each other, Celeste was neutral as to who she could be paired up with. Sincerely, she felt that she saw something good in everyone, so it would not be difficult to point out only one thing, and the few enemies she did have, well, they were either rare or unaware that she hated them. Happily she would compliment any of her fellow actors, or directors and agents in the film industry. She could struggle a bit more to come up with something for someone in music because she did not work with them, but either way she was a bit of a musician herself, so she supposed she knew a thing or two.
After arguing with her love interests, the woman walked to the box to get her folded piece of paper with careless, sexy steps in her high heels. She drew a paper from the box, and saw Naomis name, as Naomi also realized she had gotten celeste as her partner. Really, Celeste found the thanksgiving thing a bit confusing sometimes, but when she saw who she had gotten, she was even a bit excited. Naomi Álvarez was a rising star, and Celeste saw much of herself in her and her potential.
Or at least she was thrilled, until she watched as Naomi began to stutter. Behind her smile, she found herself a bit offended, dryly blinking as if waiting for her to say something redeeming. Still, she did not. Thankful that Celeste was healthy? Did she not have more to offer?
She supposed that she did when the woman, or honestly, the girl, decided to compliment her relationship. It was an improvement as a compliment, but not by much. It wasn’t true either. Had she not noticed when Isaac snatched her by her waist across the dock?
If she weren’t as good of an actress as she was, maybe a groupie or someone less significant, Celeste might have thought that Naomi commented on her husband because she desired him, or had already won him in some way. But she was Naomi Alvarez, another actress, and Isaac was a musician who she likely never thought about. Perhaps the poor girl just got nervous on the spot? Celeste asked herself in her head, but still she did not understand the situation, so she assumed ill-intent.
“Is that all?” She joked, sarcastically pointing out how long her answer had been. She meant it to sound like they were friends appreciating each other’s affection, but really, she was mainly expressing her confusion.
“I’m thankful for your movies!” Celeste told Naomi, looking to her and then around at the spectators. “You’re a brilliant performer,” she smiled, showing her pearly soap-bar smile. She meant her compliment to the other woman, but she could not shake Naomi’s nervousness. What did it mean?
