Rowan knew Isabella had a tendency to drink A LOT, and he often made excuse for her, mostly to himself. That is why he is so often with her when she goes out, to make sure she doesn’t end up drunk and on the cover of some magazine, being trashed and dragged through the mud. He also wanted to avoid people describing her as alcoholic just because when she drinks, she really commits. The only people he would trust to take care of her when she does end up drinking, is some of her friends, but mostly Isla and Davit.
Then, just as he thought of Davit and the text that made Isabella want to drink in the first place, he popped up in the actual bar. He knowingly smiled at Isabella, realizing this was who she texted. “Hey Isa! I didn’t keep you waiting too long, did I?” Looking at Davit he sensed a bit uneasy, as if he wasn’t himself although he looked himself. But then Rowan remebered how he disliked Isla when he first met her when she was dating Isabella, and how he likes her now. He figured he was just protective of Isabella and decided that whatever he felt now about Davit not being himself is simply connected to his protective feelings for Isabella. He decided that the best thing to do for them to really talk about it thoroughly, and becuase of this protective side of him, it was best for him to give them some privacy. “Hey Issa, I’m going to the bar … I …” He scrambled for an excuse but the only thing he could think of is one that is a bit out of character for him. “I just saw a girl at the bar I want to chat up.” With that excuse he walked over to the bar and left Davit and Isabella alone. Instead of chatting anybody up he ordered a drink and sat at one of those high barstool he hated so much. They are always way too high and uncomfortable and on most of them you can’t lean back, which means it’s the worst chair to put at a bar where people decidedly drink until their legs don’t work, which means they would often fall down in this chair.
