In all her years in the entertainment industry, Aisling had never been late for a meeting and she wasn’t about to start now. No matter how enticing her wife was making it to stay in bed.
“Birdie, I have a meeting.”
“5 more minutes.” Robin mumbled, draping her arm over Aisling’s body as if it would stop her from leaving.
”I have to go.” She giggled, gently lifting her arm off of her so she could get out of bed. “El or Macy will keep you company.” She added, kissing her wife on the forehead. Elliot was the most physically affectionate of their children whereas Macy was Robin’s favourite, whether she admitted it or not.
After getting ready, she went into the kitchen and made one coffee for herself, which she put into a travel mug and one for her wife. As if by magic, her youngest daughter walked by as Robin’s coffee was finishing.
“Hey, Mace?” She called, getting the girl’s attention.
“Yeah?”
“Can you take this up to your eomma?” She asked, showing her the mug. “I have to go to a meeting and I’m sure she’d like some company.”
“Sure.” The girl replied, taking the mug and disappearing up the stairs.
Taking her coffee, Aisling grabbed her car keys and left for her meeting. As she drove, she caught the host mentioning Danny Gray and she turned it up, hoping it would give her an idea of what he wanted to talk to her about. He had called to arrange a meeting but was being very withholding about the reason for it. The host brushed over his album being pushed back and announced that he was going on a world tour. The two pieces of news sounded contradictory and she couldn’t help but wonder if that had anything to do with why he called her.
She pulled into the parking lot of the coffee shop they’d agreed to meet at and a few seconds later an SUV pulled into the spot next to her. When Danny rolled down his window, she did the same. “Yes, you’re quite the talk of the town this morning.” She agreed when he suggested they go somewhere else to talk. “We can go to my office. It’s as private as we’re going to get. Will paparazzi recognize your car?” There was no point in relocating to somewhere less populated if the media was just going to follow them.
