Maya:
I think so. They seem really happy, and before he was with Dom, it had been a while since I had seen him happy like this.
Macy:
How am I supposed to know? I’m not the one in the relationship. I hope it does for Mav’s sake, but how would I know if it’ll last?
Maya:
No idea.
Macy:
We just know that he doesn’t like her.
Maya:
Mav still invited her. He wasn’t going to just not invite her.
Macy:
There’s not a lot of people Mav wanted to invite, and Candice is one of those people.
Maya:
I hope so.
Macy:
We better.
Maya:
I do.
Macy:
Maya does, but not me.
Maya:
I’m.. not talking about this.
Macy:
Why should I tell you?
Maya:
We’re still deciding what colleges to apply to, but we’re hoping to be close.
Macy:
Maya has things more figured out than I do, but hopefully we won’t be far from each other if we can’t be at the same school
Since these questions are around the time Mav and Dom got married, they’d be sophomores at this point. Since they were freshmen when Mav was a senior and Mav and Dom got married right at the beginning of 2021.
Maya:
She had breast cancer… I miss her especially since it’s getting harder to remember her…
Macy:
Yeah… we were only 8 when she died.. I miss her too
Mia:
Yes, I had heard about her before meeting Kasper. She’s a big celebrity. I’ve listened to some of her music and watched some of her movies too.
Mia:
I’m a paramedic, so I’ve met all kinds of people. I’m not normally quite that forward with someone though, especially not like that. I don’t know just for some reason I said what I did without really thinking about it and decided to keep with it.
Mia:
He told me.. and nobody should have to go through that.
Mia:
Yes, my parents are still just fine.
Mia:
I wouldn’t be against having kids.
Mia:
I was. I really wasn’t expecting that, but I also had no idea who his sister was at that point.
Mia:
It wasn’t anything crazy, we just spent the evening talking over dinner and he walked me back to my apartment afterwards, but it was a nice change of pace to just have a relaxed evening with no pressure getting to know someone. It ended up being a really nice date.
Mia:
I don’t really. Everyone hears names they like and could see themselves using for their kid from time to time, but there’s not any I’m really set on at this point.
Mia:
Yes I do.
Mia:
I really haven’t known him very long, but thinking about it I guess I could. I don’t know, it seems crazy, but the thought of marrying him doesn’t seem that crazy.
Kasper:
He’s not okay.. he’s taking care of us, but he’s not okay…
Kasper:
I don’t think she really understands that she’s never coming home… Ziah keeps crying for our mom… and she probably won’t remember her…
Kasper:
Dad said that when she was walking into work, something in her head started bleeding… and there was nothing anyone could do…
Kasper:
I.. I’m here… I just have to keep going..
Kasper:
She’s struggling, she doesn’t even remember mom… and the last couple years when I’ve been in school, its been just her and dad most of the time.. I know she’s trying to be tough, but I know she’s hurting too..
Kasper:
What do you mean who takes care of me? I’m an adult, I have to take care of myself, and Ziah’s my sister. It’s my responsibility to take care of her now.
Kasper:
She did…? She was always the first person I wanted to have taste something I tried making when I was a kid.. I miss that…
Kasper:
Back home… I have to be here for my sister and the house is mine now I guess.. its the only home she’s ever known.
Kasper:
Dad was on his hunting trip and.. I don’t know exactly how it happened.. I just.. they told me there was an accident and dad wasn’t okay..
Shawn:
Yes, we adopted our daughter Ketziah. It was a little challenging going back to taking care of a baby after 10 years, but she’s our little girl. I’m not much of a believer in fate like Kerani is, but I think she might be right on this. I can’t imagine Ketziah not being ours. It’s like she was always supposed to be part of our family.
With the way Kerani’s face lit up when she told me about her, it wasn’t hard to say yes. She already loved Ketziah like she was her own flesh and blood.
Of course I love her. I love her more than I have the words to say.
Shawn:
I’d say you’re joking.
Shawn:
You’re not being funny.
Shawn:
Technically my job is in accounting, but at work I’m the person who tends to be chosen for projects with other departments. Whenever things need to be figured out in person instead of over email, I’m the person who ends up getting it figured out, so I get to do a little of everything business sometimes.
Shawn:
I’ve been going on hunting trips since I was a kid. I know what I’m doing.
