Delilah Rose Hawthorne
Now that prom was approaching, Delilah actually had to find someone she didn’t hate to accept their prom invite. She was scrolling through her many notifications on her Instagram DMs, but they were all the same, desperate for even her attention. None even close to Delilah’s standards. And certainly not Prom King material. She rolled her eyes and sighed, hoping that more substantial suitors cross her path today that she would consider accepting.
Just as she was about to turn off her phone, an alert popped up on her phone that caught Delilah’s attention. Delilah didn’t even hesitate to click and read the blog post that appeared on her screen. Her eyes scanned the page. Several times.
Her arm holding the phone dropped to her side, Delilah not wanting to see the revelation again. She had expected this would come out sooner or later. No, she didn’t care as much as she probably should - well, that certainly was the impression she was going to give off, at least. However Delilah was more so unsure about what this meant for her. Probably an argument with Candice, yes - nothing new there. But also how Candice’s mother would react to this when she saw it. Perhaps in her favour?
Walking down the corridor felt a lot different to Delilah, the eyes were on her for a less admiring reason and she had more than the usual number of people approaching her today. She rejected all with the statement ‘No questions,’ and turning her back to them. Delilah arrived at her locker, looking down at her phone to make herself look busy while she prepared her mind for the inevitable discussion with Candice she had been anticipating for years now.
