Jezebel lied about who she was to him, and she would always regret it, but lying about one thing when she was scared to lose him shouldn’t brand her as a liar for the rest of her life. She really was in shock that Jordan was actually back for good. She hadn’t known that he would even be there at prom, so the news that he was actually coming back was a lot to take in. “I Never Wanted to hurt you Daniel. That’s what you forget.” Each word hurt Jezebel more, especially his final words. Words of a clear threat. She’d seen that side of Daniel, but never from the side of the person being threatened. It didn’t matter what he would do, that in itself was enough to break the part of her that had been desperately trying to hold onto all of the good times with Daniel. Jezebel was doing everything she could to not show how much that part of her was breaking, but with one look, anyone would have been able to notice the tears she had to fight back. “If you think that could ever be true, that I would try to hurt him, or even that I tried to hurt you, then I guess you never really knew me at all. And I clearly never knew you at all, because I was stupid enough to think you actually cared enough to want to actually know me.” Jezebel just looked down. “Hate me, tell Jordan to never talk to me again, make my life a living hell, whatever you want, go ahead, cause you’re already doing a great job at making me miserable.” She barely watched as he walked away before turning on her own and getting off of that dance floor. She needed some space, some air, anything just not around everyone.
