As she made her comment on the STD, a slight laugh escaped Daniel’s lips, and Valerie was pretty sure she hasn’t seen Daniel laugh or even smile in way too long, almost as if he wasn’t capable of it.
“You know,” Daniel started talking and Valerie’s focus was turned back to him once again as she rested her back against the wall on the opposite side of the elevator from Daniel, “If we didn’t hate each other’s guts, I think I’d actually like you,”
”Hm” she mumbled and raised an eyebrow at the statement. Trying to think about it she didn’t really understand what made him say that but if she gave it enough effort she could maybe potentially find a thing or two that’s decent about him, but at the same time she couldn’t actually remember why on earth they even hated each other in the first place, like yeah he’s kind of a d!ck, but they’ve been this way as long as she could remember, was there even a reason?
”Why do we even hate each other?” she asked ”I mean other than you kinda being a d!ck”
“I have my reasons… just let me know what you want. I don’t like owing people favors,”
”I don’t need favors” she said and crossed her arms ”I never came to you for favors before, pretty sure I can do things on my own” she shrugged and ran a hand through her hair taking a breath as the elevator stopped, waiting for it to open.
But as she thought earlier the night couldn’t get any worse, well now she has been proven completely wrong when the elevator stopped in emergency and red lights filled the tiny space.
“God you have to be kidding me,”
”Fcuk” she mumbled slightly momentarily panicking, and opened her phone seeing there was no service, she went to the door and banged on it, no reply. She started pacing around nervously, she didn’t like this, not at all.
“Care to join me? Mikel may be an as$hole, but his family has the best security system in the world, meaning it’s not even worth trying to get out of here until the lights come on. Those elevator doors are titanium meaning they’ll keep us safe from any natural disaster… but we also won’t be leaving anytime soon,”
”Why do you even know so much about Mikel’s elevator that’s a bit creepy” she asked slightly confused, but also not really since it was Daniel, that boy somehow always knew a lot more than he needed to.
“Please don’t tell me you have a phobia of small spaces… because 1. with all the sex stories I’ve heard about you in the oddest places, I don’t think that’s possible. and 2. We’re going to be in here for a while and watching you pace is only so entertaining and I rather you not use all the oxygen in this metal box.”
Valerie paused slightly biting her lip and rested her back on the wall before sliding down to a sitting position with a sigh, looking up at the light. She knew there were quite a bunch of stories of sort about her running around, and most of them were true, she hated being that girl, the class h0e, but at the same time it was the only way she knew to make herself feel like she’s worth something, even for a bit. That there’s something good about her and she wasn’t as worthless as she felt, even if it’s just her body as a stupid vessel for a fun time. It was just fun, it was satisfying, that’s just how it is. ”Weird places there are a few, but I never got stuck in an elevator before” she said and ran a hand through her hair shifting her gaze to Daniel who was sitting right across the room from her, with a bottle in his hand. ”You gonna finish that?” she asked and gestured at the bottle with her brows, if they were stuck here she’d definitely need more alcohol.
