Elodie May DeLoughrey
Talking about her love life wasn’t something Elodie thought she would be doing tonight. Not getting any questions about why she had Daniel set her up with someone was a bit strange but she was happy it was that way. She didn’t want to talk about it, think about it but Jordan was someone she knew she could talk about anything with. Right now she just wasn’t sure if she wanted to bring up the person that’s been on her mind for a long time but keeping it all inside wouldn’t do her any good. “Just for me.” She simply repeated after him, having a weak smile - her mind filled with thoughts. What to say, how she felt, what was important and what wasn’t.
“I just met Riker so I can’t tell you anything but he seems sweet. And to answer your other question…” She sweetly started speaking, looking somewhere to the side while her weak smiled turned into a frown.
“I don’t know,” with a shrug she looked back at him forcing another smile, remembering how hurt she was just days ago. But she knew. She knew exactly who caught her attention and how lost she felt. “Malachi is here now too but that’s not…” She stopped for a second to chuckle and shake her head. “There’s someone else and I just… I don’t understand what happened, everything was good.” At this point she didn’t feel like she was telling him her story but talking to herself, trying to understand what she did wrong. “Lyonrad. But forget what I said, I guess it’s not really important because there’s not much to say,” she quietly continued, avoiding meeting his eyes as she nervously bit the inside of her lip.
"Does… he make her happy?”
And to that Elodie didn’t know what to say. It was a new thing, something they all didn’t know much about so she let the silence take over for a moment. From what she could see, she was happy, he was happy too. She remembered the conversation she had with Mikel before Valentine, how happy he was about his date with the mystery girl so she could only assume they were happy. “He does,” she replied just as quietly, knowing it won’t be that easy to hear. It’s good to know she was happy but it probably wasn’t easy hearing she was happy with someone else.
As Jordan wrapped his fingers within her own, she looked down at their hands and nodded to what he said, making sure to give him the most genuine smile when she looked back up to meet his eyes. “And I won’t leave your side,” she reassuringly said, very gently quizzing his hand before they left the limo and headed inside.
Walking inside, tightly holding Jordan’s hand as she waited for him to close the door and put the umbrella to the side, she looked around, noticing how many people were already there. There really was nothing like parties thrown by the students of Cerulean High but she couldn’t shake this feeling of something being wrong. Mikel’s text felt off, this party happened so suddenly. To make things worse, as they walked further inside all the lights went off, followed by the sounds of disappointed people. “Great,” she mumbled and took a step closer to Jordan, tightly holding onto him. “I am, I am,” she quickly replied as her hand reached to grab the phone that was inside of her purse to turn on the flash but her battery was so low and she couldn’t risk her phone turning off. “Great,” she repeated once again, turning to face Jordan in the darkness. “I guess this is a sign. We should’ve stayed in the limo,” she jokingly added to lighten up the mood but very quickly got slightly serious again. “So what now?”
