”I just met Ricker so I can’t tell you anything but he seems sweet. And to answer your other question… I don’t know…”
Jordan frowned as he found her smile faltering. It may have been a few months, but Jordan Williams knew when something was wrong with Elodie. Getting up, Jordan faced with slight look of confusion, almost as if he was waiting for her to continue – if she wanted to, that was. Though he nodded when he heard the name “Malachi.” Though Jordan didn’t know much about the man, Elodie had told Jordan that he didn’t have to worry about him hurting her – a guy she had dated for the span of a summer according to her instagram posts and conversations they had. Though Jordan’s eyes really widened when she said the name Lyonrad – a sad smile reaching Jordan’s features as he recalled his old friend. Old because ever since Jordan had left, Lyonrad had successfully dodged any attempt at communication.
“Hey,” Jordan started, letting his fingers entangle within her own as he looked her in her eyes… well at least tried to before she moved them away. “it’s important… don’t say that your feelings aren’t important… ever.” Jordan stated, no hesitation in his voice as he said those. If there was one person who knew about not wasting chances for love… it was Jordan Williams. Hell, just look what he lost with Jezebel.
“What did he do? Let me talk to him,” Jordan said, placing his head on her shoulder as she told him Mikel did make Jezebel happy. Jordan wasn’t the biggest fan of Mikel Lucas…. Especially not with what he remembered about Mikel. But if he made her happy… Jordan couldn’t do anything. Although, no matter what happened… Jordan would be keeping an eye on the man. Though a small part of him still held onto the words Jez had said earlier. The fact that she hadn’t made a decision yet. “I-“ Jordan started, scratching the back of his head as he felt a pang in his chest. “I’m happy for her… as long as she’s happy,” Jordan whispered. He always knew it was a chance. That she’d fall for someone else… after all, how could someone not fall for her? Jordan fell in love with her again every time he saw her.
It was for this reason he was glad to have someone to walk into that house with… because Jordan probably couldn’t do it alone. Not if he saw her with him. Though as the lights turned off, his mind went off Mikel and Jezebel and was only focused on the safety of Elodie.
”I guess this is a sign? We should’ve stayed in the limo?”
He laughed ever so slightly as he pulled his phone out, turning the flashlight on and handing it to Elodie. “Stay here and don’t step on glass okay… I’ll be right back. I’m going to go see if I can find some flashlights,” he whispered, sending her a slight smile as Jordan walked towards the kitchen area – carefully using the emergency lights in the house to guide him.
As he reached the kitchen drawers, Jordan slowly started opening them – avoiding the cutlery and looking for any supplies. Though by the third one he checked, a sigh of relief left his lips when he had found them. There was about three flashlights in there and a few candles… though with a party full of drunk individuals, fire probably wouldn’t be the best idea. Grabbing the flashlights, Jordan was about to walk back to Elodie when his fingers felt something in the back of the drawer, near the last flashlight, that he didn’t expect. “What the hell,” Jordan mumbled, pulling it out and lighting the flashlight on it to find a large packet of dozens of blue pills.
Jordan knew exactly what the packet was – he had seen it enough of the pills in his lifetime through his father’s dirty dealings to know what they were. “You have to be f-cking kidding me,” Jordan mumbled. Any hope Jordan had that Mikel had changed for the better, for Jezebel was gone in an instant. No… Jordan didn’t trust Mikel Lucas and if there was one thing he wouldn’t let the man do – it would be to hurt Jezebel through this sh!t. In utter frustration, Jordan opened the trash receptacle and threw the whole bag away before walking back towards Elodie with the flashlights. “Here,” Jordan mumbled, attempting to hide his frustration as he handed her a light – taking his phone back. “Everyone, please use your phones to avoid glass on the floor. If you need a flashlight, I found a few. Can a few people come with me so we can go look for more?” Jordan questioned, “With the storm, we probably won’t be going anywhere any time soon,” Jordan asked the room – though with the amount of drunken people, no one was really stepping up to the plate. “Do you want to come with me to go find some more? I don’t want to leave you here by yourself,” Jordan questioned.
