Dannydandan

Daniel continued to walk through the woods in the dark night, ignoring the sounds of crickets - annoying pests more like it. Besides that, and the presence of Miss. Keller, it was almost a nice night. The wind was blowing slightly making it just breezy enough for the walk to almost be considered refreshing. Well… for everything except the fact that he was walking in close proximity to Yara Keller. Once upon a time, Dan would have been elevated by this. Walking with the girl he loved through the darkness, keeping each other their company. There were times when Dan and Yara were together that they could talk all night and not notice the time pass by. But that time, well, it was long gone.

Though he was lost in his thoughts as he walked, Yara did catch his attention when she begin explaining what had happened to her in New York. Daniel slowed his pace, to walk beside her as he listened about a girl who was jealous of Yara - which consequently lead to her returning. “So you decided to leave because of what sounds like some half talented twit who was resorted to threatening you for a relationship with the lead actor that will last all of the duration of the musical?” Dan questioned, ducking under a branch as he said the words. “All because she threatened you?” After a few seconds - Dan stopped in his tracks and leaned against a tree as he looked at her. The moonlight illuminated her features to perfection. Though, in Daniel’s eyes, she was always the embodiment of perfection - whether she thought it about herself or not. It took Daniel a moment, but he had to snap himself out of that “You do understand that all of broadway and acting is filled with that right? When you’re good, Yara, people will always either love you, or want to be you. You can’t run away from every fight,” Perhaps Daniel didn’t know what he was talking about but at the same time, he didn’t take threats lightly. If someone threatened him, Daniel made sure that person would never threaten him again. After a few seconds of looking at her, he sighed. “What’s the girl’s name?” Dan asked - though they both knew in that moment it was more than a simple ask. Daniel would ruin that girl within a second of gaining an internet connection. Though… maybe there was more to the story. Daniel knew the musical she was in wasn’t the only lead role she was offered. No even after leaving halfway through the production, Yara was offered a role in Mean Girls the Musical, Hamiltion, hell, f*cking Mary Poppins. Yes… perhaps Dan had kept more tabs on Yara than he was willing to admit.

As she continued, talking about how she appreciated loyalty - and the fact that she’d never do something to purposely hurt those she loves - something in his heart tugged. “Then you clearly never loved me,” Dan whispered after a momentary second of waiting. Daniel didn’t know what he believed anymore, but he knew the words that came out of his mouth were more a defense mechanism to protect him than anything else. Maybe part of him believed her - that she didn’t intentionally hurt him. But something in his heart wouldn’t let him admit that fact to himself.

“Was that why you wanted to do this? The talk? To tell me that you’re loyal? I honestly don’t know what you want me to say at this point Yara. It’s been a year. You’re clearly over it with your escapades with movie stars and dancers and that Nick Jonas fellow and I’m clearly doing fine myself. So why do you keep bloody bringing up something that doesn’t really matter to either of us anymore.”

Daniel didn’t know what he was doing anymore, as he took a step closer to her. She was still wearing his Jacket and soon all the space between them had disappeared. “If it did, we’d both feel something with this…” with that, Daniel brought his head down and met her lips, kissing the girl he once loved. Though deepening the kiss after a second, Daniel couldn’t kid himself at the jolt of electricity he felt through his body as he did the deed. Though after a few moments, he forced himself to pull away. Taking a deep breath, Dan made sure to act as if nothing had occurred. That his body didn’t still react to her every whim. That he still wasn’t wrapped around her finger and all she had to do was pull to get him all tangled up. “See,” Dan whispered, pulling her chin up so his eyes met her own. “Nothing,” he lied.

With that, Dan begun walking again. It was only another minutes walk before he was at the clearing where his helicopter was waiting for him and then… he could escape and attempt to get his mind off what just happened and the feelings that had just flooded back within his body - making him weaker than he’d ever like to admit. “Any last sentiments, Keller? I’d say you have about a minute left before our seven minutes in hell are done,”
