Please, it can’t hear,” She replied flippantly after Daniel pointed out her swearing. But, to be sure, Delilah then stopped at turned to them, switching her focus from getting Daniel out to looking at the baby, squinting to see any hint of acknowledgement from the baby. But no, just mindless staring. Nothing new there. Daniel had taken this opportunity of her distraction to escape her grasp, to which she responded in opening and directing him towards the front door.

Before Delilah could try to respond to his comment about her having someone else in the house, the damned baby started crying again. After the countless times she had to deal with it, this time Delilah tried to ignore it. At least until Daniel was gone. But that very quickly didn’t go to plan when he drew attention to it by pointing and asking about it, to which Delilah shut her eyes and sighed, then turned to walk back into the middle of the living room while Daniel - who still hadn’t left - started asking questions, that was the exact reason why she wanted him to leave. She let him continue to talk and ask while she awkwardly lifted the baby out of the playpen…-esque thing that Lily-Ann had bought and started to attempt in cradling it.

“Why are you even here?” She finally snapped back, using his own question against him. Then Delilah sighed, knowing she couldn’t leave his questions unanswered. “I don’t know, you’re asking the wrong person about this. Maybe she will send it away to… whatever it is you just said, I don’t know,” She answered vaguely, and perhaps unconvincingly.
