“What would you know about being a decent person? Try that yourself before you complain about others like a little b!tch.”
Wow, look who was talking. “I’m a decent person, thank you for noticing,” he didn’t even give her a chance to finish what she was saying before interrupting her with that, a sarcastic chuckle escaping his lips as he walked over to Jessica. He didn’t want to be here, at this disaster wedding, a wedding of someone he didn’t like and he definitely didn’t want to be stuck with Valerie so he did his best to just ignore the girl and focus on someone much important than her.

Even if he was annoyed because of everything that happened, because of the fight, Valerie, Jess being there when she shouldn’t be, a weak smile met his lips as he looked down at Jessica’s hand that was on top of his. Worrying about her while she was just joking and… reveling how Valerie saved her. Not what he was expecting and not something he knew how to react to. He should be grateful or… “What a hero,” but that’s not what he showed. Or at least he didn’t say it. He tried to remain emotionless in front of her but you could, for a second, catch him smiling to himself.

“I don’t… want to worry you but,” Dorian quietly started, looking away from Jess towards the castle… or just what he could see of it from the inside of the truck before his gaze landed on Valerie and Candice that showed up… when? “I think Daniel ran back in.”

So… graduation. Finally? It was a day he was patiently waiting for since the begging of school year because of this game. A game he was so invested in at the beginning but now… that excitement wasn’t the same. Did he really need it? No. He had something going for him after high school and as much as he wanted to prove himself, it wasn’t that important. There was still a little hope but it just didn’t matter. And it wasn’t just his soccer plans, Dorian was genuinely happy with his life. A part of it, at that moment… A big part of it, actually. Jessica just always played a huge part in his life and the happiness she brought to him before could not compare to it now. It felt like it was the first time he was dating someone he knew he loved.

And about his friends? Well, Daniel wasn’t wrong. There were not many people he liked, not many people that liked him and those that did he would still be in touch with but… he didn’t really have that many friends. Maybe that’s why he was on the side at the party, minding his own business before Delilah appeared next to him, with a great opening line. Dorian looked away from her towards the crowd of people in front of them, laughing lightly. “Yeah, that works for me,” he joked, recalling her words from the wedding. “What do you want, Delilah?” Turning to face her, he tried to hide his playful smile and act as if he was annoyed just for the sake of good old times. Because it was weird seeing how much things changed. How he was around his… new friend now and what it was like at the beginning of the year. She really wasn’t that bad.
