Jezebel Mallory Parker

In a matter of moments, Jezebel lost the person who, for the longest time, meant more to her than everyone else in the world. Even over two years of barely speaking, he was still one of the most important people in the world to her. She never stopped loving Jordan, and she knew she never would. There were so many choices she wished she had made differently. There was that part of her that always wished that she had told him she was pregnant back then, as soon as she found out. If she had, then maybe they’d still be together, maybe even with a nearly two year old child, their child. They had talked so many times about the future, how Jordan wanted a family, even the possibility of their own together one day. There was that part of Jezebel that wished that, that future was still possible for them. That even with everything, there could still be everything she wanted. Her and Jordan, together until the end, with kids who they would give all the love in the world. She knew how important having a family was to him, and thats part of why she didn’t tell him, so he wouldn’t know he would have had a kid, but she lost it, because she couldn’t take care of herself. She should have just told him when she found out in the first place, but she didn’t want him to give up the opportunities he had, and she was scared. She didn’t know how to tell him, then it was too late and she couldn’t bring herself to hurt him. Nobody was supposed to know. She knew if they were to get back together, she would tell him the whole story, but that wasn’t the situation they were in. If they never got back to being close like they were before he left, it would’ve been something she took to her grave. Keep the pain to herself, instead of sharing the pain. Now, it didn’t matter what she did, she had still hurt him. Even if her intention was to not hurt him, the way everything happened, she still did. When she caught up to Jordan, he called her Jezebel. Hearing him call her that, then seeing him turn to look at her with tears in his eyes, broke her heart. “I wanted to tell you Jordan… but I didn’t know how…” Whatever pieces of her heart were left, shattered as he turned and began to walk away. She didn’t even have the chance to explain what happened. There was nothing she could do.

For Jezebel, the week leading up to graduation, was a realization that she was more alone than ever. In merely a month, Dan and Jess would be leaving for London. Which meant Jezebel would be alone… Technically, she’d have her father, Justin Parker, working with him, finally getting a chance to know him, but he was still in many ways a stranger, and she’d have Laurel, if she even survived. Though, all the familiar faces, the ones she’s seen for years, would be gone, most to become like strangers over time. Who would she even continue to talk to? Valerie, they had become good friends and she was with Daniel. Candice, they had been close for a short time, and both could bond further over their kids. She Talking to Sadie would be only if the girl really wanted to. Jezebel just couldn’t be around her, knowing she was with Jordan, and Elodie… Elodie was with Riker, who Jezebel hated so much. Then there was Jordan… he still mattered so much to her, but she had lost him… even at graduation he avoided her.

When it came time for graduation and the after party, Jezebel didn’t want to be there. Since what happened with Jordan, she wanted to just go to bed, cry herself to sleep, and never leave her room again, similar to how she had been after her and Jordan had broken up two years earlier. The only reason she wasn’t, was because of Laurel. Laurel was less likely to make her cry than being on her own was at that point. She was something Jezebel could focus on, instead of the broken pieces of her heart. Laurel still being alive was the one piece of good she could hold onto. Though, when it was time for graduation, she had to be there, and even if she didn’t want to, she didn’t really have a choice in going to the party with everyone afterwards. Daniel drove them to the party, and they separated as they entered.

How poetic, to end the year where it began, truly coming full circle. Jezebel’s life in a way was coming full circle, repeating what her mother did. Just like her mother, she got pregnant during senior year, when she was in no way ready to have a child, and ending up alone as well. So much had happened over the course of the year. Last time she stepped foot in that building, she was confident and ready to win the game. The only thing stopping her back then was a simple task that she couldn’t get over her fear of driving to complete. She was determined to win, to make her mother proud, that if she did win she would be worthy of actually having her dad know who she was, that she wasn’t just Dan’s best friend. That first party, it was also the night she first started talking to Mikel, where she first kissed him. Back then, he was merely an opportunity, someone attractive, an interesting conversation that made the frustration of the night better and brought a smile to her face. So much had changed. Senior year had broken her down in so many ways. She was no longer the overconfident girl she was walking in to the school year. Now, she was a girl who was grateful for having family that cared about her, separate from a mother who was nothing but toxic for her, who wanted to be better to her daughter than her mother was to her, even with everything that had changed between her and Mikel. Now, she was a girl who had lost her confidence. She didn’t know what her future would hold, and she was doubting herself every step of the way. That’s when she saw someone who the sight of brought a slight frown to Jezebel’s face. Jezebel couldn’t help it, and it really wasn’t Sadie’s fault either, she didn’t deserve to be someone who unintentionally and unknowingly rubbed salt in the wound for Jezebel. She was jealous, and it just hurt, but at that point, what didn’t hurt her. Jezebel honestly would have turned and walked in the other direction, but at that point, Sadie had seen her, so she really couldn’t. “Hey Sadie… How are you feeling?” Jezebel asked, not knowing really what to say to her, but knowing she had been in the hospital as well even before her and Jess had been in the hospital, so it wouldn’t hurt to check on her.
