Taking Jessica back to his room should’ve been the first option he thought of, not asking Mareena where Jess’ was. He should’ve expected she wouldn’t know and asking Jessica herself wouldn’t really get him anywhere. But why was he even asking about that? This… everything… was just a little bit too much to take in. It wasn’t just one big news but two and being here, out in the open was not the best place for something like that. So all he wanted was to go somewhere more private where they could figure it all out, together. Where he could make her feel just a bit safer, and that’s what he did. As Mareena left, he gently took Jess’ hand in his, leading her to his room that luckily wasn’t too far away. Looking more at her, paying more attention to her without saying anything than the hallway they were in and where he was going.
It would be a lie to say he knew what else to do and say because he didn’t… and as he closed the door behind him, he watched Jessica go to his bed as he just stood there. This wasn’t how he imagined them being in this room would look like… jokes aside, it really wasn’t. It was the first time seeing her like that and knowing what she went through, not knowing how she was feeling but having a good guess because he too wasn’t all happy. What happened so many years ago was stopping him from feeling that excitement you should feel when you find out you’re having a baby… he was excited, yes, but worrying about Jessica was higher on his to do list because all he ever wanted was to make her happy. “Come here,” whispering as he finally got next to her, pulling the blanket up to tuck her in before kissing the top of her head and wrapping his arms around her. Once again letting the silence fill the room before she spoke up… and it was then when he realized why Daniel wanted to make sure Dorian wouldn’t say anything about the break up. Because of what Jess just told him. It was more serious than he could imagine, so messed up… But he couldn’t let her see the anger he was feeling at that moment and that was the hardest thing to do, he did promise he wouldn’t say anything. Now he could really see why that was a smart thing to do.
“I’m so… I’m so sorry for not being there for you,” Dorian slowly started, stroking her back as he held her close to him. “I hate it… and I know we can’t change it. I’m just glad you are okay and I’m here now, we’re doing this together this time…” It was hard to smile while imagining everything she was saying, understanding what she meant when she first said she almost killed herself over that but he did. A weak smile but a smile. “I also want that life, I want to spoil our baby and let it make a goal against me…and I want you to be happy. It’s okay to be scared, I get it but the first thing we’ll do when this is over is go to the doctor. Promise me that? We’ll go together and I’ll go with you every time. Now I might have to use my bets to make you eat something better, I’m sorry,” keeping a smile on, he moved his hand to her cheek, gently caressing it. “I can’t promise you it’ll be fine but we’ll make sure it is. Trying my best is what I can promise.”
