Could he actually blame Dorian for leaving and quickly shutting the door to keep Daniel in? He really couldn’t, but it was still bloody annoying since he was still stuck there as well and being outside the damn door did seem a bit heavenly at that moment. ”Dorian you piece of sh!t!” he called out banging on the door as it closed behind Dorian. But as figuring out he actually left Andy just turned around with a sigh and rested his back against the door running his hand through his hair, taking a drink from the bottle he picked up minutes before.

”Yeah, okay, I get it, I made a mistake, I was a d!ck to you and screwed you over with stupid assumptions. I’m sorry. What do you fcuking want?, do you want me to feel bad about it? Do you enjoy shaming every bit of my existence all the time? Or do you just have nothing better to do?” he said, his frustration with Daniel’s comments reaching a peak ”I didn’t mean to screw you over I was just bloody trying to protect Nora, I can’t let her get hurt…” he sighed, honestly admitting what he felt and did.

”That. That thing. And you really approved of that with Jess,”
”I didn’t always. But she was happy, that’s all I want” he said with a light shrug, simply answering and not going out of his mind to protect Dorian because it wasn’t really relevant, he knew Dorian made his mistakes but dammit he was human, they all made mistakes, but with all of those, while Jess and Dori were together, Andy could see she was happy, truly happy, and frankly that was all he ever wanted for her, could you really blame him for supporting the relationship? ”Don’t you?”

Dan rolled his eyes as the man asked what he wanted. But that was the question - what did he want? After more than a decade of hating the man it had just become easier to stay locked up in his old ways then try something new. “I don’t want anythiing, Andy. Just like you wanted your sister safe from me, I have just been returning the favor and want my family safe from you. Did you really not notice that I was only following your lead?” Dan asked with a soft laugh, taking another long drink from the bottle. “I just… you didn’t even given me the chance to explain Andy. I think that’s the hilarity of all of it. I would have never ratted out your sister, but you never gave me the chance anyways,” Dan laughed - his body feeling tipsy as he said the words. “You all always think I do everything for myself, but really - I just do what you did years ago. Yet, I’m labeled the bad guy. So go ahead. Label me the bad guy for protecting my family from the likes of you and Dorian and any other idiot. I’ll happily take the title,” Dan huffed with his drunken demeanor.

Dan sighed when Andy said that he hadn’t always approved of Jess and Dorian but they were happy. “I do want her happy. But could Dorian ever truly do that?” Dan asked frankly. “We’ve both seen that Jess isn’t the best to make choices when it comes to her love life. Like fck, she went back to Kai multiple times and we both know he’s the definition of toxic.” Dan continued. “So maybe I play god with her life sometimes. But it’s because I want the best for her, just like you want the best for Nora.”

Terror. That’s the only thing that could describe how Jessica felt at the moment. Her mind was racing and her body only ached – causing her to remember the fearful moment she had tried to forget for such a long time. Though could anyone ever forget something as severe as the loss of one’s children? Jezebel had phrased it the best – it’ll never stop hurting. You’ll only learn how to manage the pain better. And Jessica had – Slowly, year by year, she had learned how to cope better. But there was one thing that Jessica Pierce had never done. She had never gone to a hospital after that moment. Was that bad? Perhaps. But all she could remember was the doctor telling her to come back for tests to see if she could ever have children again and honestly… Jess wasn’t ready to hear the response if she couldn’t have kids. So instead – she did annual check-ups at her home. Because hospitals… all they brought back were bad memories. The moment that Simon died… the moment that she woke up from her death… and the moment her children died. She couldn’t… do it anymore. So maybe she was being reckless… or stubborn but no. No matter how many attempts Jezebel and Daniel had tried – Jess hadn’t stepped foot in a hospital in 10 years. The reason was for this? Well… it was the feeling that she felt in the pit of her chest… the ache she felt in her body thinking back to the loss of her children and… Maybe… maybe she would lose this one too and that thought. It was a thought that took over her entire body until only fear remained.

So, as she made her way outside, looking out at the blue water and tried to forget… forget all the pain that was rushing back. But it was instantaneous. The moment she heard Mareena say you’re pregnant it all rushed back. And all she could do was cry. Tears fell down her face and she couldn’t stop them. Though, in a way when she heard his voice – that pain only deepened. Partly because she had never told Dorian the truth about what had happened so finding him here when she was dealing with this… it just… made everything hurt more. As his hands reached her body to turn around and face him, she just… couldn’t… look at him. Dorian DeLoughrey… the man whose children she lost. Though there was a soft sigh of relief when he wrapped his arms around her – and Jess was allowed to simply let her head lay against his chest, listening to his heartbeat. Part of that… the feeling of his arms around her did calm her down. Though the other part only worried her more. Because in a matter of moments… she knew she had to tell Dorian something she had been hiding for a decade. And… there were two reasons for that. For one… she didn’t want him to bear the pain she had… and two… he would likely never look at her the same and Jessica couldn’t… lose him again. Like she had years ago. “I’m… so sorry Dorian…” was the only words she could get out between her quiet sobs.

Jezebel Mallory Parker

There had been so much time where Jezebel had thought about how things could have gone differently. The life she had now, with a family that matters, including a daughter she loved more than anything in the world, she would never give up, but she still had a part of her inside that wished for a life that could have been. There was that part that blamed herself for being the reason that life they could have had, the one where Jezebel would’ve had everything she ever wanted, never happened. So many years had gone by since Jezebel was that 17 year old who was pregnant with the child of the man she loved, and didn’t say anything before it was too late. It would have been a great life had things gone just a little differently. So much changed, it had been so long since they had that second chance in senior year that Jezebel couldn’t see how to take, not realizing it would be her last chance. In that moment, standing there close to Jordan, it was like the past 10 years didn’t matter like it had just a short while earlier. Though even then, nothing could have prepared Jezebel to expect Jordan’s next action. He kissed her. She couldn’t say that there wasn’t that instant in her mind of shock, and knowing they shouldn’t, but that was only one small piece of her mind while the rest could only think about how it felt to be kissing Jordan for the first time in 10 years, how just as much as it once had made her feel like there wasn’t a rest of the world out there, like they were the only two people in the world. That feeling of butterflies, like the world stops. Love. That would always be how Jezebel would describe what she felt for Jordan Williams. He was the man she knew she loved from their first kiss, and from that moment forward he would always hold a part of her heart. With their lips on each other’s, they were in that moment, as if nothing had really changed. That is, until someone came in. Not just any someone, but Riker Taylor, a man who Jezebel would normally go out of her way to avoid. Not only had he seen them, but Sadie had seen them as well. Jezebel didn’t intend on being the cause of problems, not hurting Sadie, and inevitably doing harm to Jordan because of that. Although he may have kissed her, she knew she could have pushed him away, saying it would be a mistake only brought on by the moment of such heavy emotion and memories, but she didn’t. When his lips met hers, it was truly intoxicating. She could have lived in that moment forever and couldn’t have brought herself to end it, to leave that brief moment where all of the pain didn’t matter. With the kiss broken by the harsh reality facing them, Jezebel took a step back, and looked to Riker, then to the ground. Riker acted like he knew everything, like he knew best and everything he did was always right, but that wasn’t the case in any way. “I…” Jezebel started, knowing there was truly nothing she could say. Her eyes returned to Jordan, with the only words she knew to say “I’m sorry…”

Mareena Stokes

Mare shook her head teasingly,”I mean… yeah never mind you made the right choice,” She spoke laughing with her. There was a pause between when Mare asked the question and when Jess finally spoke up. This one brief moment was enough to realize something was wrong. Something happened and it wasn’t good. Immediately her mind went to the worst places with having kids. Something she wouldn’t want anyone to go through, let alone Jess. This girl standing in front of her has been hurt by multiple people, many of her own family. So the last thing she needs to feel like is not good enough. Her mind ran through every thought and most of where she wished she could take back bringing this up, so the smile and laugh was still on this girls face. Yet, it wasn’t that easy.

She stood in front of Jess as she struggled to say these few words. Honestly, if she was this scared, something absolutely destroyed her and knowing that she wasn’t their to help her hurt, but this is Jess. She only tells people that need to know or she feels like needs to know. Mareena took her friends hands into hers, rubbing them with her thumb slightly. Trying to calm her any way she could while staying quiet. Nodding slowly as she started to finish her phrase before pulling her hands away as they headed into her room. She slid her keycard through the slot and entered into the quite spacious room. Jess left to the room to the right of the door, the bathroom. As soon as she left Mare couldn’t help but collapse on the bed. “Good going Mare,” She muttered to herself and rolled her eyes at herself. Once the door cracked back open, she shot up immediately. Now sitting straight up on the bed as she watched Jess go back n forth throughout the room,”I’m sure it’ll be alright,” I’m what way, she was unsure of. She jumped once she heard the timer, the suspense of it killing her. It was positive? She heard a ton of times how there were never false positives, just false negatives. So all she did was nod her head and hand the girl a water bottle whilst being supportive.

The girl retired to the bathroom again before walking as fast as she can out of there as if it was haunted. Although Mare believes to know where this is gonna go, for Jess’s sake she wished it wouldn’t. They waited together to see the outcome of this new situation. This time it was her turn to read the two pregnancy tests. She took a deep breath and walked into the bathroom. Peering down at the tests, her eyes went wide,”They both say… you’re pregnant,” And just as she said that, Jess took off out of the room.

Her eyes darted to the open door, a pregnancy test still in her hand. Jess could play it off as if she didn’t hear it right, but she can see the pregnant written on it. She sprinted off after Jess, not wanting to say anything. She arrived, not knowing what to say. What should she say? If her thoughts were right, she didn’t want to be told everything was alright because in her eyes it wasn’t. In this moment, she had no idea what to say besides a simple,”I’m here for you…” Before trailing off when she got to a stop. Just noticing Dorian holding Jess in his arms. As much as her heart was breaking for her and tears threatened to spill, this might be the last thing Jess needed. The pregnancy test still in her hand as Dorian’s eyes snapped over to her and what was in her hand. She’s really hoping he is supposed to know about this otherwise that’s another mistake Mare made in the past hour.

There were many things that went through Dorian’s mind as he just stood there, holding Jessica in his arms right after hearing her words. ”I’m so sorry.” All possible reasons for her to say that only making his heart start beating faster, waiting for her to continue that and say… Well, there was really one thing he was scared of the most, one thing he was hoping wouldn’t happen again. What he was feeling in that moment reminded him of his 20 year old self, being let down by someone he was ready to give his everything to and now he was scared of the history repeating itself. They were in a good place, he couldn’t lose his best friend because… because of what? “For what?” He quietly asked, loosening his grip. Could it be that Daniel did something again? That was what came to his mind first, knowing what Dan was capable of but he wouldn’t do anything. At least not now after their little talk but maybe he did something before? Or maybe it wasn’t him at all, maybe Dorian was the one that did something wrong. Past few days repeating in his mind but… why would she be the one apologizing then? “Jess,” whispering, the two were very soon interrupted by Mareena who, what it seemed like, followed Jessica with… a pregnancy test. Was that a positive pregnancy test?

You know how many things went through his mind? This wasn’t one of those things, and still gently resting his hands on her body, he took a step back immediately shifting his gaze to the test in Mareena’s hands. A girl that had that look of guilt, saying something when she wasn’t supposed to, in front of someone she wasn’t supposed to. It was one of those moments when you don’t know how to feel or what to say at first, not really understanding what was happening. Or understanding but questioning if it was real, which Dorian did. She was pregnant? Jessica was pregnant? And this is how he was finding out? It was… a difficult situation - wanting to react in one way but not being able to for a few reasons. Wanting to say something but having to hold back. He slowly looked back at Jessica, a soft smile appearing on his lips as if all of his worries disappeared but that was quickly replaced with a frown, once again lifting his hands up to her face, hoping to meet her eyes this time. “You’re pregnant? Are you not happy?” He carefully asked, frowning because of how she was acting. Was she sad because of that, was that what she was referring to just seconds ago? Was she apologizing because she was pregnant? Did she not want that?

There was a comfort that Mareena provided in her room that was replicated in the way that Dorian held her. But no matter how much comfort she had could replace the guilt she felt every day for what happened a decade ago. As she muttered her apology to Dorian… as half-assed as it was… she could feel him stiffen and she knew why. She wasn’t an idiot - he was expecting her to leave him again. To disappear with no words. And maybe part of her almost considered the easy route. But she couldn’t. For as much as she wanted to, she knew she couldn’t run away from every issue. She heard him ask her the question she never wanted to answer. Though soon she didn’t have to after Mare came out with the positive pregnancy test.

And there it was. She was pregnant - made once again real by him saying it. It was strange… these words were ones she wanted to tell him a decade ago and now here she was hearing him say it. “Are you not happy?” For some reason, those words made her cry more - her body shaking as he made it so she was looking him in his eyes. “Dori… I just… I don’t want to tell you this because… god…” Jess whispered not knowing how to say this but knowing she had to. “I don’t ever want you to look at me the way I look at myself in the mirror every day because I think it would kill me faster,” Jess whispered. The look of regret… the hating yourself. That’s what Jess had to work over with Jez for years. And still… to this day she didn’t feel as if she had gotten there.

Jess could feel more tears falling down her eyes as she cupped his face, “Dorian… when I left you… when I was 20… I was pregnant,” Jess started, “…and I was stupid. I didn’t… go to the doctor for a check-up because… I don’t… because part of me just wanted to go with you and I felt like… it was wrong to go without you so I just… didn’t,” Jess whispered, her tears falling harder, as she finally looked away from him, unable to look in his eyes for the next part. “And then I lost them… I lost both of our babies because I was an idiot who didn’t go to the doctor and… I almost killed myself over that moment… and I just… I don’t…” Jess mumbled - not even sure if her words were coherent in the moment as she touched her flat stomach. “I don’t want to lose our baby again Dorian. I’m just so… scared,” Jess muttered. It was this feeling… this inherent feeling of not being enough that always roamed her mind. And the thing was, no one could truly convince her that she was wrong. Because no matter what, it was her fault that she had lost her children and it would always be her fault. And now, her fears were coming true. Even though she wasn’t looking at Dorian at the moment… she knew the moment she did she’d see it. The face that looked back at her in the mirror every morning. And honestly… once she saw it. The last part of her that felt alive would die.

There was nothing that could’ve prepared him for what he heard next. No proper words to use, no right reactions just… sadness. Nothing else he could feel but that, hearing her talk about something so serious that happened such a long time ago, something he should’ve been a part of. He wouldn’t want anything else… if not for the babies they could’ve had then for her and everything she went through. Even if they weren’t together he would’ve made it alright… he would’ve tried at least. He wouldn’t let her do it all alone but there was nothing he could do now. Nothing he could do or say to change what happened and sh!t, well it just happens. So was he sad because of what happened, what he knew nothing about until now? Sad thinking what could’ve happened if she never… lost their babies? Sad to imagine her in that situation without him telling her it would be okay and he’d always be there, no matter what? Yes, he was and was he mad? That he also was but… but not at her. Never at her, he couldn’t blame her for that, it wasn’t her fault. He was mad because he wasn’t there. And it was just too much to take in.

“Hey… it’s okay,” whispering, he gently kissed her forehead before once again tightly wrapping his arms around her. Fighting back his own tears, his heart breaking for finding out about his babies, seeing her like this, seeing her so distressed and thinking he would look at her the way she looks at herself. “I love you and I’m not letting anything happen to our baby or you. I’m here now… What happened wasn’t your fault, that’s not something you can control,” quietly continuing, he pulled back looking down at her with a weak but reassuring smile. “I’ve always wanted you, this, and everything that comes with it. Nothing can ever change that.“ There were so many other things he wanted to say to her, to reassure her he was being honest but having someone right there next to them, Mareena, was holding him back, knowing they wanted this to be a little secret for a while. But it was Mare, and she could already tell what was happening. “You remember what we were talking about today? I want to marry you, have family with you, have this baby with you. Go house hunting and pick the most beautiful house with many little rooms because we sure won’t be stopping here… Everything will be fine… Let’s go back inside and calm you down?” Placing another gentle kiss on his forehead, he looked back at Mare. “You two were obviously together just now… Do you know where her room is?”

What should Kai have expected other than to cross paths with the Anna Pierce on that yacht. Of all the people there, she had to be the one to approach him. “What are you doing here, Anna? You never even went to Cerulean.” Though, he couldn’t disagree with her comment that they both wouldn’t have been expected there. “What does it even matter to you why I’m here, or how anything in my life’s going?” Kai certainly wasn’t in the mood to deal with Anna. He was just there wanting to feel, even just for a minute, like most of his life just didn’t exist. The mistakes he made, the regrets he had, it was everything he hated. High school, that was a time where he was able to at least feel like he had some control over his life, even with his dealings with Anna that year. At least being surrounded by people he spent part of his senior year of high school with, meant for a moment a part of Kai didn’t have to be just Prince Malachi. That’s what the week was in a way, an escape from being the prince, to be just Kai for a while.

Going into that conversation, or the room in general, never in a million years would he have expected to end up with the realisation that he was the bad guy all along. How for years he hated the guy that he once called his best friend for something that never even happened and he was just too blind and stubborn to even realise he was making a mistake for blaming him. But that was one thing the two had in common, their families meant the world to them, they’d do anything to keep their family safe and sometimes that just wasn’t a good thing, and Andy and Daniel’s relationship over the years was the perfect example for just that case. ”She was pretty obsessed with you I will say that” he added sipping his drink ”I didn’t- I don’t know. I guess I just didn’t think. Ironically I actually trusted you until then, I honestly don’t know why it changed… “ he shrugged. And it was actually quite weird, because at that moment he saw Daniel and Nora, he didn’t even flinch as the trust he had in his friend just disappeared, and that’s now how trust is supposed to work. ”I was being a d!ck, hate me all you want, but I’m sorry”
“I do want her happy. But could Dorian ever truly do that?”
”He can be an idiot some times, but he loves her, he loves her big time, I’ve never seen him like that with anyone.” he answered, thinking as he spoke ”Give him a chance”

These words - this… knowledge that Jessica had just… put on Dorian was never supposed to be revealed. Not to the man in front of her… not to someone that wasn’t her immediate family who simply had found her in that situation. But… was it bad that Jessica almost felt this overwhelming weight that had been on her shoulders for the past decade fell lighter? That there was an odd comfort in sharing this pain with Dorian DeLoughrey? That pain would never go away - that much she knew. It would always be her biggest regret that she lost their babies. But telling Dorian today… Jessica didn’t know if that could be considered a regret.

She felt his arms wrap around her tightly and melted into it - closing her eyes as she attempted not to think of the moment that often haunted her nights. There was a comfort in his words, even though she knew it was something he could never truly promise. Because… the truth of the situation was that there was a possibility… a high possibility that the same thing would happen once again. That maybe Jess couldn’t have this baby because her body could never handle it. And… if that happened… Jess couldn’t promise Dorian that she wouldn’t hurt herself again. Truthfully, she probably wouldn’t be able to go through the pain again.

Dorian distracted her thoughts when he continued his words, causing her to look back at him for the first time since she said the words. A strained smile met her lips as he told her that he still wanted her. As he finished his words… Jess nodded, “I love you,” She whispered, trying to concentrate on her breathing as he talked with Mareena. Though soon Jess was being pulled in a direction, though, honestly she wasn’t really paying attention - her mind still scattered with thoughts as she soon found herself in a room.

Jess only waited a moment before going straight to the bed and wrapping herself in the blankets, laying her head against Dorian’s chest when he joined her - simply focusing on his breathing to calm her down. “Daniel found me,” Jess whispered after god knows how long of simply lying there. She wanted Dorian to know the truth because at this point, hiding it was going to do nothing. “After… I don’t… I don’t know how long I spent lying in a room that I decorated for our kids without moving until he found me.” Jess continued. "I just… remember waking up at the hospital a few days later with Jezebel and Daniel there. I just… I want our baby to be okay Dorian because I love you and I want… this. I want us to have that life… to have children that we both spoil. That you let make a goal against you because you want him or her… or them to be happy. I just…I’ve been scared for such a long time, " Jess muttered - not even sure what she was saying anymore.

“What are you doing here, Anna?”

“Woah, fiesty. Retract the claws, Azure. Sadly I don’t have any manipulation tactics to use against you this time around.” Anna stated nonchalantly, leaning against the wall as she watched him take a drink. “And no, you’re right, I didn’t go to Cerulean but my fiancé did. So I’m here to support her… something you clearly know nothing about. But I guess I should watch my tongue when discussing loyalty around you. After all, aren’t you screwing like half your staff in the castle?” Anna questioned. Perhaps she was pushing buttons, but what could she say? She couldn’t help it. Sure, Anna had mostly changed for the better but apologize to Malachi Azure… that wasn’t something that would ever be on her to-do list. Not that he’d ever forgive her either and she wouldn’t blame him for that either. But at the same time - she simply didn’t care or need his approval.

“And to answer your second question - I simply want to make sure you still understand the unspoken agreement about staying away from my sister. Because clearly, it’s something you haven’t necessarily followed for the past few years from what I’ve heard on the great vine,” Anna stated. “Oh don’t worry - Jess never said a word. I do, however, still have a few contacts. Such as the one who caught you two doing the dirty about six years ago. Took a little pull from my end to make sure that story never made it to press. I might not care about you, Azure, but I do still care about my sister and you being stuck in that iron prison of yours actually does me a huge favor in that department,” she explained.

“But no, really. There may be a few people on this boat that still dislike me - but I know for a fact that a majority hate you. So real talk, why would you put yourself through that for the next two days. It’s just… sad really.”

Silently listening to the man, Dan simply took another swing of his drink - wondering when the hell that bloody door would open. And once it did, Daniel Parker would make the hell sure that Dorian DeLoughrey would never bloody make that mistake again. Mess with Daniel? Dorian should have learned a long time ago that it was a mistake… though why was it that now part of him actually felt… bad about what he did if Dorian had indeed, not spread the rumors about Jess. God stupid morals and sh!t that Val’s been teaching him. It’s really such a Debbie downer on his plans.

Though Dan had started blocking Andy out about the sappy bs he was saying until he heard one phrase. *“I was being a d!ck, hate me all you want, but I’m sorry”. And for once… Daniel Parker faltered. He gave Andy a skeptical look, thinking that this was a joke. Waiting for some sarcastic retort where Andy begin to laugh. But it didn’t come. Honestly, Andy looked like he was telling the truth. And… well… Dan didn’t know what to do with that. No one had ever really said sorry to Daniel Parker. It just wasn’t done. People executed cr@p from him, but sorry? No. How the hell do you handle sorry?

“Right…” Dan muttered, letting his voice trail not knowing what to say. Perhaps that’s why Dan appreciated the slight change in conversation. Though… that also soon diminished when Andy said that he should give Dorian a chance. And perhaps… perhaps he should. Perhaps Dan was wrong about Dorian. But what did it matter? Jess and Dori weren’t together anymore. Oh well.

“How… are you?” Dan asked hesitantly. “Really? With Ziah and your daughter…” Dan asked not knowing… what to really say anymore. “Veronica seems to love her…”

Have you ever found your world falling apart around you? Like truly - fully falling apart. That was the only way to describe how Jordan Williams felt the moment he heard Riker’s voice and pulled away from Jezebel. Instant regret. His hands moved towards his lips and without Riker even mentioning anything besides his scream, Jordan’s mind went towards Sadie. Towards the girl who was the love of his life. He was only brought back into the moment when he heard what Riker had to say next - the words he feared the most. Sadie Williams had seen them… had seen him and his idiocracy in kissing Jezebel. And he felt it; fear. Genuine worry settles in. He never… wanted Sadie to find out that way. Jordan would have never lied to her but for her to have seen him getting lost in stupid emotions was unacceptable. He attempted to smile at Jezebel’s words of “I’m sorry” - and on that note, Jezebel. Honestly, Jordan Williams didn’t even know how to feel about all of this. Because if he was being honest, it would be a lie to say he didn’t still feel the spark that he had with Jezebel when they were younger. But here’s the thing, none of that mattered.

“I need to… I need to find her,” Jordan whispered - though he was brought out of his own hand when Riker begin talking to Jezebel. “Hey, HEY Riker stop,” Jordan stated, frustration peeking through. “Don’t blame her, it’s my fault. And don’t talk to her like that,” he yelled looking Riker in the eyes. “I need to find my wife, but don’t you dare blame Jezebel for this. This is all on me,” Jordan stated - regret in his voice. Jordan only waited a second before rushing out of the now open room and frantically looking around for his wife. And he looked - he searched the entire damn boat, cursing when he realized that he left his phone in the room. But that didn’t matter - the only thing that mattered was Sadie.

It was when he felt that all hope was lost when he found himself in a small room and saw a girl slouched in the corner, hugging her legs. Walking into the room, Jordan’s regret was… unexplainable. If you could turn back time and change what he did - he wouldn’t even need to think about it. “Sadie I…” Jordan whispered, walking until he was right next to her and then falling on his knees as he looked at her. “Sadie I am… such an idiot…” He started, a tear falling down his own eyes as he reached out to touch her but found her withdrawing from him. And that… that moment of seeing her jump from his touch. That killed him immediately. His body filled with pain as he looked at the mess he created and now his beautiful wife was crying because of his actions. It was something he had promised himself he would never do - he would never hurt her. Not his wife. Not like his father had done to his mother. “Sadie I can’t even begin to explain how sorry I am I was… I am an idiot. I’m stupid. I am the worst person in the entire f*cing world because I never in a million years wanted this to happen because I love you. Sadie Williams.” Jordan started… attempting to find the right words… but that was the thing. There were no right words to the situation. There was nothing he could say to reduce the pain he knew he had inflicted. And there was no describing how much it was killing him inside not to wrap his arms around his wife and make this better. Because… honestly… maybe there was no better. Maybe Jordan had done it… had made the one mistake that would cost him his life. And Sadie… Sadie was his life. His love, a girl who had his entire heart.

“Sadie I… I don’t know what I can say to make… to change what I did,” he got out through his strained voice. “But I need you to know that I love you. That I will do anything… everything for the rest of my life to show you that you are the only woman that has my entire heart. What happened… in that room was… one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I just… I got caught up in the past… in the past that doesn’t exist anymore but that’s no excuse for my actions,” Jordan whispered, trying to get her to look him in the eyes as he got closer to her. “Sadie I love you. I made a mistake that I can’t… I can’t change. But tell me what I need to do to fix this… because I need you in my life.”

Taking Jessica back to his room should’ve been the first option he thought of, not asking Mareena where Jess’ was. He should’ve expected she wouldn’t know and asking Jessica herself wouldn’t really get him anywhere. But why was he even asking about that? This… everything… was just a little bit too much to take in. It wasn’t just one big news but two and being here, out in the open was not the best place for something like that. So all he wanted was to go somewhere more private where they could figure it all out, together. Where he could make her feel just a bit safer, and that’s what he did. As Mareena left, he gently took Jess’ hand in his, leading her to his room that luckily wasn’t too far away. Looking more at her, paying more attention to her without saying anything than the hallway they were in and where he was going.

It would be a lie to say he knew what else to do and say because he didn’t… and as he closed the door behind him, he watched Jessica go to his bed as he just stood there. This wasn’t how he imagined them being in this room would look like… jokes aside, it really wasn’t. It was the first time seeing her like that and knowing what she went through, not knowing how she was feeling but having a good guess because he too wasn’t all happy. What happened so many years ago was stopping him from feeling that excitement you should feel when you find out you’re having a baby… he was excited, yes, but worrying about Jessica was higher on his to do list because all he ever wanted was to make her happy. “Come here,” whispering as he finally got next to her, pulling the blanket up to tuck her in before kissing the top of her head and wrapping his arms around her. Once again letting the silence fill the room before she spoke up… and it was then when he realized why Daniel wanted to make sure Dorian wouldn’t say anything about the break up. Because of what Jess just told him. It was more serious than he could imagine, so messed up… But he couldn’t let her see the anger he was feeling at that moment and that was the hardest thing to do, he did promise he wouldn’t say anything. Now he could really see why that was a smart thing to do.

“I’m so… I’m so sorry for not being there for you,” Dorian slowly started, stroking her back as he held her close to him. “I hate it… and I know we can’t change it. I’m just glad you are okay and I’m here now, we’re doing this together this time…” It was hard to smile while imagining everything she was saying, understanding what she meant when she first said she almost killed herself over that but he did. A weak smile but a smile. “I also want that life, I want to spoil our baby and let it make a goal against me…and I want you to be happy. It’s okay to be scared, I get it but the first thing we’ll do when this is over is go to the doctor. Promise me that? We’ll go together and I’ll go with you every time. Now I might have to use my bets to make you eat something better, I’m sorry,” keeping a smile on, he moved his hand to her cheek, gently caressing it. “I can’t promise you it’ll be fine but we’ll make sure it is. Trying my best is what I can promise.”

There was an ease of being wrapped up in Dorian’s arms as she let her eyes closed. For the longest time Jess missed this… missed being able to wake up next to him. A decade of lost time… that’s really what it was. But honestly, now that Jess had him back… she wasn’t let him go. Not again… so with that thought, Jess allowed her eyes to close - listening to his breathing as she found her mind wondering not to the heartbreak in her past, but rather, the good memories she had with him.

Flashback:

Where was Jessica supposed to be right now? The answer? London attending her “Current Events” Journalism Class. And where was she actually at the moment? Well… going to surprise her boyfriend on his birthday. Though - she had been… somewhat ghosting him for most of the day with the excuse that her phone died this morning and she didn’t have access to her charger. But what could she say - to surprise the idiot - she needed the element of him not knowing her every move and that was difficult when it was his birthday.

So Instead of face timing him - she had been flying back out to the city and planning a birthday party for the idiot with the help of his teammates who BETTER bloody know how to keep a secret and keep the dummy busy at practice. She had arrived early that morning and went to work the moment he left in the morning for practice - getting a venue together and having the party planners she had hired start set everything up including an RSVPs from a few of his favorite celebrities, a few football players he liked, and a few others including his parents flying out. What could she say? It was the first birthday of his that they were celebrating as a couple and Jess was going to make the most of it.

And so there she was; smiling as she found 12 of Dorian’s teammates walking into the venue with Dorian’s eyes covered - Dorian obviously complaining. “Come on guys - I honestly don’t want to celebrate this year. Let’s just get some food and chill at my place.”

Jess smiled walking towards the blindfolded man as his teammates stepped away - Dori staying something along the lines of “can I take this off now?”

Jess slowly let her hands meet his face where the blindfold was before wrapping her arms around his neck and bringing his lips down to kiss him. She felt him hesitate instantly, but after a second he pulled his blindfold off and pulled her in tighter against him. She heard people screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY behind her and pulled away after a second with a smile. “Happy birthday love,” she laughed.

End of Flashback:

It was these moments that made her love Dorian more… just being with him. There was something simplistic about making him smile that made her happy. Perhaps that’s why Dorian always had a way of making it easier for her to calm down.

Opening her eyes, Jess listened as he apologized for not being there for her and she shook her head immediately. “Love… that was never your fault Dorian,” Jess whispered. “I just… I never wanted you to go through what I was going through…” she mumbled. She looked up at him and brought a soft smile at his lips as she saw him trying to do the same for her. She allowed her hand to meet his face and brought her lips to his for a second. “How are you… handling this Dorian… I know… it’s a lot,” she whispered. “And hey… no. You’re feeding me food that’s good… not good for me,” she corrected the man. “No protein shakes,” she continued.

A soft sigh left her lips when he added that he would try his best. “I’ve missed you Dori… I don’t know if I’ve ever actually said this but god I’ve missed you.” she added. “This baby has a pretty amazing father,” she continued. “His eating habits are a little weird, but besides that, he’s a pretty cool dude,” Jess smiled cheekily.

“Right…”

And for once in his life, Andy found himself in a place where Daniel parker seemed like he didn’t have a ready response right up his sleeve. As if Andy apologising to him was a first, a thing he didn’t know how to handle.

“How… are you? Really? With Ziah and your daughter… Veronica seems to love her…”
”Like you’d want to know. Don’t you have enough things to mock me over?” he muttered looking away, but thinking about it, for the first time in years over years, there was actually something genuine and not at all sarcastic in his tone as he asked, finding Andy somewhat confused with this whole interaction that didn’t seem like it could happen in real life. But wait- this was real life… ”though… I- I guess I’m trying to do the best I can for Kaya, she’s an amazing kid, she doesn’t deserve pain in her life… “ he said after a moment, actually answering the question though a part of him was still sceptical (but could you really blame him?) though another part of him didn’t actually mind. He was after all being just genuine, ”She really loves Veronica too. She’s a good kid, you guys did a good job with her…” he then said ”both of you”

Was he being nice to Daniel for once? He was indeed, were they friends? No, they were not. But for once, the two had an interaction that actually grew some fruit and not just salty bickering. Although all those years ago, the first person to go angry and spiteful was Andy, but over the years, it was mostly Daniel who stuck with the hate, Andy on the other hand, didn’t give it as much attention unless needed. He knew Daniel was a part of his life and that he was important to some key people in his life, so whether he liked it or not, a person of him hoped Daniel was okay at times. But at this moment, it seemed like some tiny gear in their not-so-lovely relationship was actually moving, even if it was all slow and rusty. ”is the baby okay? The pregnancy and all…” he asked, though technically he already knew the answer to that as Valerie already filled him in on the baby situation, but every story has two sides, even a good one.

Not wanting him to go through what she was going through, that he could understand but it still made him feel horrible for not being there. For not helping. Even trying to distance himself from her without knowing what was going on. If he did everything would’ve been different now… But was that a good thing? Would they even have those kids now? Would everything work out for them? That’s not something he could know, but he did know he wouldn’t be the one to let go. Like he wouldn’t now… when he had everything he wanted for such a long time. “I…” moving a strand of her hair from her face, he tried to find the right words to express how he was feeling, what was going thought his mind when she told him everything but he couldn’t. “It is a lot but don’t worry about it…” Whispering, he returned the soft kiss, a smile remaining on his face. “I’m fine… and I promise no protein shakes, just more of everything else. Gotta keep you and our baby healthy,” that, well that was making his smile seem more genuine. To think about that now and be able to say it… It was surreal and no matter how happy and excited he was to have a family, he also was scared. For different reasons.

“I’ve missed you too, and this… if you can’t already tell,” whispering, he tightened his grip around her. And he did miss her. He missed her so much. They were always friend but at times it was hard pretending he found happiness in different places when all along he wished for something else - this. Wished he could still wake up next to her, always have someone to get back home to, but not just someone… someone he actually loved. “Weird eating habits? Oh no, out of everyone that had to be your father… I’m sorry little one. Let’s hope you don’t have weird eating habits,” laughing at her words, he let his hand gently move to the side of her stomach as his gaze lowered. Stopping for a second to just smile before looking back up at her and quietly continuing. “But this baby also has an amazing mother. Best, toughest woman his father knows… She has weirder eating habits but a pretty good taste in watches. Watches she likes to buy for her friends even if she hasn’t talked to them in a long time,” chuckling, he shook his head and lifted himself up on one elbow, lying on his side. Mentioning something he wanted to ask her about, a real reason why he was looking for her in the first place. “I can’t believe you never told me about that and had me believe it was from my parents.”

Daniel closed his eyes in annoyance as the man immediately went on the offensive with his question. So much for trying. Dan thought, taking another drink of the amber liquid in his hand and content with just staying quiet for the rest of the two of them being locked in this room. Though what surprised him was when Andy actually answered the question. That was something he wasn’t expecting.

“She’ll… be okay Andy. You’re doing a good job with her and yeah, she has some pain in her life and that will always hurt but she’ll appreciate you doing your best with her,” Dan stated. Pain was, in an odd way, retrospective. But though Dan wasn’t usually one to admit it - Andy was trying. “And…” Dan started when the man said that he was doing well with VC, “Thank you… can’t say I haven’t made my fair share of mistakes though… just ask Val about the time VC had to get stitches,” Dan added, throwing the man a soft smile. It was something he hadn’t done around Andy in years. Smile… this was… strange.

It had been over a decade that the two had said anything other than rude retorts to one another and honestly, Daniel Parker didn’t know how to navigate this territory. “I mean… he’s healthy and it’s going well. Can’t say this pregnancy was expected though…” Dan laughed slightly. I was honestly ready to stop at one but… I don’t know, is it bad to be excited?" Dan asked. Perhaps he never thought about himself in this position in the past. After all, Daniel Parker married with kids in a loving home was something no one really expected. But would Daniel change that if he had the chance? Never.

“Andy… Ziah would want you to be happy you know… have you ever considered getting back into the dating scene?”

“It is a lot, but don’t worry about it…”

Those words seemed easier said than done because the simple fact of the matter was that she did worry. It was the reason she never told him in the first place… hell the reason she left him in the first place. Jessica always just… wanted the best for Dorian and for the longest time… she didn’t think she would be it for him. That he deserved better. Perhaps he still deserves better. She was almost glad that he joked around with her because she honestly… appreciated the distraction… needed it. “Hmm… you might need to use one of those favors for that to come true Dorian because you know I love my junk food,” Jess mumbled, “And if this baby is mine, I’m sure he or she will also like junk food,” she laughed slightly.

Jessica allowed her fingers to caress his face as he mentioned that he missed her too. Despite the strength, Jessica showed every day, sometimes it did help to hear him say it. To remind her that she wasn’t making a mistake and hurting him by coming back into his life. As he pulled her tighter against him, Jess wrapped her arms around his neck and leaned her head against his chest. “I love you so much,” she muttered, bringing her lips to his neck and leaving small kisses there before pulling away as he continued responding to her statement of him having strange eating habits. Jess couldn’t stop the smile that met her lips as she felt his hand touch her stomach and she let her own hand fall on top of his. Was the inherent fear that something would go wrong still present? Yes? But there was also hope that everything was okay peeking through.

Though her eyes did widen at his next statement about his watch and she couldn’t help but laugh slightly. “How did you find out? Did you finally see the inscription inside?” the girl asked, slight confusion in her tone as she let her hand gently touch his watch. “I always… cared about you Dorian and… I don’t know when I was in London I just… it was my way of being with you even if I couldn’t,” Jess sighed. “And I know you’d never accept it if I wrote my name on it so I just asked Davina to just… sneak it in with the rest of your gifts,” Jess continued. “I will say, I am very proud of not missing a birthday of yours since we were 13.”
