“I’m sorry about this,”

Dan rolled his eyes at the comment that was pointed at him. It was almost strange being stuck in a room with Andy McAllister and Dorian DeLoughrey. Discounting the fact that he hadn’t seen either of the two in years besides idiotic magazines for rockstar weekly or sports magazine - on that note could we have a discussion? Why in the BLOODY hell was Dorian DeLoughry on the cover or a magazine with the words “Top 10 Hottest Athletes in the World”. And Dorian Actually was number 1? Number 1? Him? Blonde boy that looked like he took steroids as a child. Mr. Forever Assh0le Smile tattooed on his face? How? Sorry, off-topic. But it was something that simply needed to be questioned. Even if the questioning was happening in Dan’s mind. In any case, the issue that remained was Dan was stuck in this room with two people he hated more than anything in the world. But ironically, there was a time that they were all friends. There was a time that Andy was Dan’s best friend. And there was even a time that Dan liked being in the DeLoughrey’s presence. Oh, how times had changed. How the moment Dan saw the look in Andy’s face as he was thrown out of his house changed the course of their relationship. How Dan intensely begins to hate Dorian DeLoughry due to one reason. The fact that the man dare spread rumors about his cousin when she left. Granted, Jess left out of nowhere. But the rancid comments that the Soccer team had spread about her were disgusting. Daniel had seen the true colors of both the men who sat in front of him. So maybe Daniel Parker was rude. Maybe he was crude to the extent of harm. But there was always a reason.

“Trust me, Dorian. No one wants to see your steroid deformed body,” Dan stated casually; staring at hi phone for a second and sighing as what remained was the endless “loading” sign. One that never seemed to stop. So what if Daniel added gasoline to the fire. It had been 10 years, it’s not like Dorian could do anything. “Aw, are you surprised?” Dan asked, faking a soft pout. “I warned you… various times, and then you bought a ring.” Dan stated, shaking his head. “Well, I honestly believed that your relationship would have naturally fizzed down. But I know Jess can be rash, and if you proposed she probably would have said yes.” Dan started, putting his glass cup to the side as he leaned forward. “So I did what any good family member would do. I used Jess’ weakness to push her away from you. You see. She cares, too damn much. So I made it about you. And all it took was a little nudge to your coach. Not much. Ironically, he already didn’t like you two together so that wasn’t a lie. But him calling Jess down to his office to tell her that you two needed to break up for your career… well… let’s just say that was my plan. And it worked like a bloody charm,” Dan stated with no remorse… well mostly no remorse. Perhaps Dan was saying these words with pure malice. But his mind did go back to one particular moment of walking into Jess’ apartment and finding her broken without repair… but that was something Dorian would never find out. That was something he could never let Jess find out.

The new thought filling his mind, Dan shut up - not saying anything else as he leaned back in his seat. “Come on Andy - don’t act like you didn’t agree with me. Dorian and Jess? Don’t act like you approved of that. Isn’t Jess your person or whatever you two call each other? But go ahead. I know you’re too much of a coward to speak your mind. So take Dorian’s side. After all, you two are family and we both know how much you like siding with family without knowing the whole story.”

With that, Dan leaned against the wall closing his eyes with a soft smile. “Oh, and should I even mention the second time Jess tried to ask you to wait for her in a letter. God. What a joke.”

To keep her safe, that’s why he left, he just didn’t know that she would’ve been safer with him there. As she listened to Jordan, she could only look down, trying to keep tears from forming. She didn’t even know what to say in response to Jordan’s reveal of his father’s threat. Since losing Jordan’s baby, there had only been two people in the world that Jezebel ever told the whole story, and it was a full two years after when Jezebel had told Dan, and three beyond that when she told Jess. Both of them she only told because she needed to. “I kept it from you because I was trying to protect you.” Jezebel said, looking back at him. The moment she needed him most, was the moment she didn’t want him to have to know. She was broken, and didn’t want him breaking too. “All I wanted was you, Jordan. You were the first person I ever loved, and I wanted you to be my forever.” There were points where Jezebel thought Jordan would be the only man she ever loved. There were even still days where she’d lie awake at night, wondering what if, wishing things happened differently. “I wanted to have a family with you. I wanted it more than anything…” Jordan had no idea how many times she almost sent him a message. It was more times than Jezebel could count. “I was trying to find the best words to tell you that you were going to be a dad…” By that point, crying was inevitable and the first tear soon rolled down her cheek. “ I thought about it,” she began, admitting that there was a part of her that did consider the idea. “but I never would have gotten an abortion, Jordan, not with our baby. They would have been turning 12 this year.. but I wasn’t enough.. I wasn’t good enough…”

A loss of a child. Not many could say they had experienced it. Hell… not many could say they had experienced it and never knew about it. Did that make it hurt any less? For a man who always wanted a family… who only ever wanted a family - one that he could do everything for. A family where his kids were safe… where they were loved. It was the simple aspect providing an environment that he, himself, never had. Jordan could still remember the moment he ran away from home. He was only 9 the first time he left home… which really should speak volumes about how he felt within his house. The echo of his father laughing as he yelled “Where are you going to go child?” after beating him until he could barely walk hours earlier.

Jordan didn’t care where he was going that day. With his little backpack with everything that he cared about which was truly nothing more than a photo of his mother. For the rest of the night, Jordan walked the streets alone - no true place to go. Until he stumbled upon a little dance studio. Jordan had snuck into a storage room connected to the studio and watched the dancers from the double-sided mirrors. For months, Jordan stayed there; alone. Sleeping on a pile of old boxes. Jordan left in the mornings only to beg for food before returning to his home. That is truly what it became. The run-down dance studio was more of a home than his real home ever was. Dance had always been a passion, but it wasn’t until he watched the students dancing that he found that it could also be an escape from his hunger. From his fear… from his life.

Though through all of this, one question always remained. How could a father do this to his son? Why was he never loved? That day a promise was made to himself - if he ever had children, Jordan Williams would give them everything. So yes, when Jordan learned he could have had that with Jezebel 10 years ago… it killed him inside. But it killed him more that she had never told him… that she had made a decision about his family without him. It wasn’t until today… this day that he learned that everything he knew was a lie. As he listened to her… the words of her trying to protect him brought the simple sentiment of confusion. Jordan bought his red eyes to look at hers, listening as he told him she wanted him to be her forever. And that, well… it hurt more than anything else ever had. It hurt more than any physical pain he had been through in his life. He often wondered what could have been between the two of them. Because love - well… love wasn’t ever as simple as ABC. And this moment showed him that.

Jordan listened, watching as she told him she tried to find the best words. But there was something behind her words that caused a pit to form within his chest. There was this feeling… this ominousity about the situation and Jordan couldn’t shake it. And then she said it.

“…but I wasn’t enough… I wasn’t good enough…”

And it hit him. The growing forbidding feeling within his stomach as he looked at her fall apart. She hadn’t given up the baby. She had lost the baby. Jordan could feel tears streaming down his eyes as he looked at her. The pain that she had been through. The pain she had never shared with him. For what? To protect him. And what had he done to her? He left her. He removed her from his life. There were no words to describe the pain that Jordan felt. Not only for the loss of his child but for the pain he caused a girl he still loved to this day. “I…” Jordan started. He whipped the tears from his eyes before walking off the stage that he had propped himself on - on the other side of the room than where Jezebel was situated and walked over to her.

Within an instant, Jordan pulled her body against his, wrapping his arms around her as he often used to do years ago. One hand on her back and one caressing the back of her head. “Jezebel I…” he started. But what do you say? What does ones say after 10 years of realizing what an idiot he’s been. After 10 years of ignoring the girl he loves?

So for a long time, he didn’t say anything. He simply wrapped his arms around the girl - allowing his own tears to fall. “Jez,” he whispered, finally moving away, cupping her face as he looked into her eyes. “Don’t ever say you weren’t enough. You are the strongest person I have ever known and I am so sorry for treating you like I did.” he whispered… leaning his head against hers, Jordan closed his eyes thinking of what could have been. “Our baby would have been 12,” he whispered after a second. “We would have really loved that kid and you would have been an amazing mom with them as much as yu are with Laurel.”

If only they were fast enough to keep the door open everything would have been so much better as he would have just bolted out the room like lightning and headed to the bar, because he sure as hell needed a damn drink at this moment. But life do be sucky sometimes, so instead he just had to be stuck in that beautiful little party of theirs. Usually Andy wouldn’t mind Dorian’s presence in places, but in a closed space with Daniel Parker definitely wasn’t one of those places.

Andy listened as Daniel spoke, seemingly bragging on how he managed to break Jess and Dori up, which honestly was just a disgusting thing to do to your own cousin but okay.

“Come on Andy - don’t act like you didn’t agree with me. Dorian and Jess? Don’t act like you approved of that.”
Frankly, he wasn’t completely wrong, there were times Andy didn’t like the idea of Dorian and Jessica together at all, he loved his cousin, but he couldn’t say he always trusted him to make the right choices. And Jessica wasn’t one to make mistakes with, she has just been through enough already and only deserved the best the world had to offer, or at least that’s how Andy saw it. But eventually he actually did approve of it, they seemed happy together, like it was right and he wasn’t going to fcuk it up this time. And unlike Daniel, like it or not, he’d never go behind their back and try to sabotage their relationship playing god.
Isn’t Jess your person or whatever you two call each other? But go ahead. I know you’re too much of a coward to speak your mind. So take Dorian’s side. After all, you two are family and we both know how much you like siding with family without knowing the whole story”
”Oh yeah for sure, you mean like the time you sent me to juvie because you didn’t like me being around your cousin even though I’ve never ever done something with the intention of hurting her?” he mentioned, commenting back on Daniel’s pointless arguments on choosing family ”You don’t get to call me out on that. You would have done the same goddamn thing. She’s my sister I was trying to protect her. If you would have fcuking told me it wasn’t true I would have believed you but you chose to play bad guy and then call me out for believing you. It doesn’t work like that Parker”

What was he supposed to do? Just stand there listening to Daniel and that “perfect” plan he had from the very beginning, listening to him and Andy fighting over something he didn’t really understand? More than anything it was sad. Terrifying how far Dan would go just to ruin someone’s life without thinking about who else he could hurt in the process. Disgusting seeing how he was so proud of it all, but did it surprise Dorian? No, he should’ve know he had something to do with it all ending the way that it did but he’d never guess Daniel was actually the only person who was responsible for that. Fully responsible. But just standing there, watching the two fight over juvie and from what he could tell Nora, he let it all sink in before walking straight towards Daniel, not thinking twice about punching him right there and then.

“You fckng assh0le,” he spat out, feeling Andy immediately pulling him back and stopping him from doing anything else. Not listening to what he was saying, not waiting for Daniel’s reaction, not letting it stop him from saying everything that was going through his mind. “This is not about my relationship but you fcking over your own cousin. That’s so low, even for you and…” Pausing for a moment, he pushed Andy’s hans off of him, shaking his head as he took a step back from both of them. Realizing something. “And you shouldn’t brag about your horrible decisions because you know what? I could easily tell her everything now and we all know how much she cares about you… What do you think she would do? Hearing her loving cousin took away her happiness and enjoyed every moment of it?” It was then when Dorian laughed to himself, for the first time almost being happy with what Daniel said because… he messed up big time and was probably aware of that. Something Dorian could hold over him as long as he wanted.

“What do you think, huh?” For a second he curiously yet with entertainment in his eyes looked at Andy, not really expecting him to answer. Or expecting him to get mad, both options he could work with. “Would she even give him a chance to explain himself? I don’t think so…” Another chuckle before he shifted his attention back to Daniel. “And I’m going to rub it in your face every chance I get, just like you do it. Or do you want me to be a bigger person and at least let you come up with some shtty excuse? Why I shouldn’t do it? Well, you could… but I think I’m going to enjoy this one.” Here’s the thing tho… no matter how much Dorian loved being in the situation when he had power over Daniel, he would never tell Jessica what he just heard. Because he was right… he knew how much she cared about her family, how much her family meant to her and he couldn’t do that to her, especially not now. He couldn’t and didn’t want her to hurt knowing what her cousin had done. So that was all it was… a short moment of Dorian letting his anger out, using Daniel’s words against him but with no intention of hurting Jessica later and telling her what really happened.

“And whatever you two have going on…” mentioning their fight from just moment ago, he walked closer to them again, looking at Daniel “You’re still the one that sounds like a douchebag.”

Reading people. It was something that Daniel was an expert at. Now reacting in situations… that wasn’t his strong suit. We ALL knew that. So sitting there, Daniel soon realized a few things. A few points of interest. When Daniel called Andy on the motion with agreeing with him, he made no facial cues that indicated he didn’t agree. Rather, through, no words left his mouth - so, Daniel knew he was right. He almost always was, after all. “Would you like me to remind you who did what first, Andy? I treat people how they treat me. So after you made clear we weren’t friends, I no longer gave you the courtesy of one. You hurt Jessica or any of my family, and I will screw you over. Always.” Dan stated simply. “So don’t play the innocent card. You did commit a crime anyways, and juvie was always a possibility with the crime. I simply pushed the process forward.” Dan stated. “And no, I would have never made you turn your back on your family, McAllister. That’s the difference between you and me. You’ll always see yourself sitting on your high horse and think I never had reasons for doing what I did. But I would never make you turn your back on your sister.”

Frustration didn’t begin to describe how Daniel felt. Perhaps that’s why he revealed information he should have kept to himself until his grave. And part of him should have expected the punch that soon came as Dorian DeLoughrey did just that across his jaw. Pain spread his body immediately and Dan groaned, putting his hand on his face immediately as he moved his jaw around to see if it was broken. Thankfully, it wasn’t. Dan watched as Andy stood up, holding his idiotic cousin back - though, unlike most times where Dan would curse a person out and tell the individual how he would soon ruin their life, he stayed quiet. Because part of him, a small part, felt as if he deserved it. Because the outcome of what he did was far graver than Dorian or Andy would ever know. The fact that Dan almost killed Jessica. And that would forever be on his hands.

“Jessica could do better than you, Dorian. She always could do better than an assh0le who turns around and spreads rumors behind her back the minute she leaves because their bloody ego is hurt that she didn’t say anything to them. Go to hell, DeLoughrey. Don’t act like you don’t know I’m right. Tell me, truthfully, do you ever think you could have been good enough for her? That after everything you did in your sh!tty life, turning on your own damn sister, that it would ever suffice? You would have done the same thing to Jess. And here’s the thing, I did you a favor. Because I was right when the coach told Jess that she would have held you back. All those millions of magazine covers you’re on, and fans who are ready to fck the lovely Dorian DeLoughrey, it’s not because of your talent. Granted, you are a good soccer player, but Jess would have held you back. And then you would have started to hate her for doing that to you. And who would get hurt in the end when you decided to do the same thing to Jess that you’ve done for most of your life? That when you decided that you will only ever care about yourself? Jess was the one in the crossfire and I wasn’t going to let you do that to her,” Dan started as the man continued saying how he shouldn’t brag. A soft pit in his stomach begin form because Dorian didn’t realize the amount of leverage Daniel Parker had just willingly given away in anger. And now he was in a position of being threatened, by one, Dorian DeLoughrey. Were they in a bloody alternate universe or something? What bullsh!t. “We both know Jess has been through far too much in her life for you to add on that fact, Dorian. Or are you so much of an assh0le that you would take away the one thing both of us know Jess cares about more than anything else. Family. But no, tell her. Because all it does is prove that I made the right choice 10 years ago, and again a few months ago” Dan stated. Though confidence was clear in his voice, it was backed with worry. He didn’t want to lose Jessica, because honestly, he only had a handful of people in his life that didn’t look at him like he was a monster. And losing even one of those people would kill him inside.

“What do you want to keep your damn mouth shut DeLoughrey? Money? Me to stop dming you words of de-affirmations. You just don’t know what saying that to her would do but in the end, it would show I was right and you truly only care about yourself” Dan told the man from his side of the wall, still gently touching his jaw.

Honestly, in this whole situation going on, Andy sort of felt like the d!ck in the story, even if Daniel was and still is being an idiot, there was at least a part of this whole mess that came from a good intention, and how foolish was he to just go on and hate on the guy who was once his best friend without even going to the bottom of the story and trying to understand. He was just being head strong facing the wall, as if what he thought he saw was the only possible scenario.

That was complicated, a foolish misunderstanding, but what Daniel has done to both Dorian and Jessica was way beyond ’you made a mistake, just don’t do it again’ , it was just horrible, disgusting, especially from a guy who keeps claiming he values his family over others. If that’s so, why waltz around with your power and just hurt your cousin like nothing, butchering her happiness and ripping it to shreds like chopping a damn salad. Why Daniel? Why?

”Dori stop. It’s not gonna help” he said quietly as holding his cousin back as he tried to punch the guy once again, and although Dorian’s response (aka punching the man) was very understandable, it wasn’t the point, punching him would have done nothing but cause pain, and not just to Daniel, but to Jessica, Valerie, (Jezebel too but she’s not really part of that story now is she)… what’s the point? And besides, Andy was just feeling rather confused, now that he found out one of his main and only reasons to hating Daniel was a lie, what did he even think about him? Yes, there were a lot of things over the years that grew Andy’s dislike of the man stronger, but Dorian was no angel either, and neither was Andy. And at the end of the day, it was all a very long time ago, why was he so stuck to the past?

What Daniel was saying did make Dorian stay quiet, thinking about his words. Did he think he was good enough for Jessica? No… but he always tried to be. There were some things Daniel was right about but most of it was completely wrong. Turning on his sister was just him being selfish and wanting to be better at something, which he never was. Would he do that to Jessica? Well, that’s where Dan was wrong. He really wasn’t doing him a favor… sure, Dorian had a career and life he always wanted but not for a second would he hate her for “holding him back”. He’d never look at it that way and yes, maybe he’d have to work harder for what he had now but he’d have something that would’ve been more important to him. Something he would value more and have even after his career, wasn’t that the point of everything? He has done a lot of fcked up things, that he wasn’t going to deny but Daniel had no right to make assumptions about him and what he was really like.

“Wait,” Dorian mumbled, not listening to Andy telling him to stop. Stop? No, this could go on for a long time and it will. But this time he didn’t start so aggressively, he was rather confused and quiet, going back to what Daniel first said. “What are you talking about? Enough with your bullsht, what rumours? I’ve never said anything.” But the anger he was feeling from the very beginning quickly came back as he continued. "You go to hell, Parker. And oh… you’re trying to bribe me with money now? Sorry, I don’t need it, only caring about myself and being on all those magazine covers gave me that. And to be honest, I would miss your dms, they just make my day.” Staying where he was, he simply smiled at the man, not being fazed by his words. He heard the same thing so many times and seeing Daniel like this was quite entertaining. Seeing him trying to make him stay quiet in ways he hadn’t before… where were all the threats now? “I just don’t get it… What would it do? Only prove how f-cked up her cousin is? And what do I have to lose? Nothing. I already lost her and I’d just end up being an assh0le, proving you were right all along, don’t you want that? I’d want that if I were you. To prove you made the right choice 10 years ago and few months ago… wouldn’t that make you feel so proud of yourself?”

Just like Daniel, Dorian would also have something to lose in a way, a reason why he wouldn’t say anything but this… this was fun and Daniel already hated him so having this act wouldn’t do Dorian no harm. So with a playful smile he walked to some kind of a chair, not letting this fun end. “If you were in his place wouldn’t you be proud of yourself? Or do you think I should stay quiet?” He asked Andy this time, crossing his arms as he leaned back. “Not like I would listen, I’m just curious…”

“Aww is the big lone wolf helping me now? Well, hate to break it to ya, I don’t need it,” Dan stated towards Andy’s response of holding Dorian back. Did Dan’s face hurt? Yes. Was Dan going to show the man it did? Fck no. Show no pain - especially to those you don’t trust. Though dan’s annoyance only grew when Dorian acted like he didn’t know what he was talking about. “Oh you cut the bs Dorian. She was literally gone for a month and then you and the rest of those soccer idiots just had to be the big dogs on campus and spread rumors about how she was expelled because she fcked the dean and that’s why Lyonrad broke up with her, or she had disappeared to go give birth to a baby. Or hell, even the random bullsh!t that half the soccer team spread about her giving them head? Really Dorian. Don’t act like you weren’t trying to make yourself feel better by trashing her and because of what? Because your ego was hurt that she left you without saying anymore thing. Well, guess what, you weren’t the only person she didn’t say anything to. Andy over there, he didn’t hear sh!t. And I, she barely sent me a text to tell me she was okay. End point - you always make everything about yourself, Dorian. So get the fck off your high horse and own up to your mistake.” Dan stated - malice dripping from his voice.

Daniel knew that the idiot in front of him was just stringing him. They all wanted something, everyone had one desire. One wish. And honestly, Dan was the one person who could grant most wishes. He’d gotten people into their dream job, dream school, dream anything with a few clicks on his phone. Dan had found criminals, stollen satellites, and so much more. Daniel could really do anything he set his mind to. “So what? Do you want a favor from me then? Get Clio back for you or something?” Dan asked, frustrated by the man. Dan sighed as Dorian went onto explain that telling Jess would just help him in the long run. But that’s the thing. It wouldn’t. Jess didn’t know his connection to her children’s death, and if Dan had anything to do with it - she would never know. Because that - that was unforgivable. And Daniel Parker knew that to its core. “I don’t care what you think, Dorian. Don’t. Fcking. Tell. Her. And god - you already lost her? Really. Says the guy who’s still clearly pining over her. For fcks sake, get a new watch already. Or are you so stuck in your head wearing a gift she bought you 15 years ago? God.” Dan rolled his eyes.

“Andy. At least tell me you see reason. There are some things you don’t say. Not to Jessica.”

Jezebel Mallory Parker

Jordan and Jezebel both knew what it was like being raised by a parent that never loved them. Jezebel spent her entire childhood with the constant thought of If I can do this right, she’ll love me. Yet, Jezebel never heard her mother actually say that she loved her, so from the first moment she thought about having kids, she knew more than anything that her kids would always know how much she loved them, how she would be proud of them for every accomplishment big or small. She wanted her kids to have everything that she had wished for growing up. Neither had the family they needed as a child, but both wanted the family they didn’t have back then. One thing Jezebel knew, without ever having a doubt in her mind, was that even if perfection didn’t exist, Jordan was as close as there would ever be to perfect. He was the person she would have wanted to have a family with, have him as the father of her children. They were young, it certainly wasn’t an ideal time, but they almost had that… they almost had a family together. There were times she had imagined how things could’ve been. Her, Jordan, and a little one with Jordan’s smile, the smile that made Jezebel feel like everything would be alright. She wanted that family with Jordan, but then she lost the baby. Before losing it, she had planned that within just another week or so, she would tell him, right words or not, but after she just couldn’t tell him. How could she have told him that he had gotten her pregnant, but she lost it? She wanted his comfort so bad, not telling him brought her even more pain, but she couldn’t let him feel even half the pain she felt. It was better to feel completely alone, having to hide the pain, than to tell him. He didn’t need to feel that pain, so she protected him from it the only way she could.
It was at that point, with Jordan finally knowing the truth after 10 years of believing something that was never true, that he walked over and held her close. 10 years, it had been over 10 years since the last time she felt his arms around her. When he pulled away, he brought his hand to the side of her face and she looked in his eyes. “I tried to do everything right… but I couldn’t take care of myself…” Jezebel still felt guilt over losing the baby. That if she’d paid more attention to herself, realized she had a fever sooner, hadn’t of thought that the appendicitis symptoms were just from the pregnancy, then everything would’ve been different. “I’m so sorry I didn’t tell you, before…” There had been so many times where she wished that she had just told Jordan the moment she found out she was pregnant. She nodded slightly in response to his whisper that their kid would have been about to turn 12. “I should’ve told you a long time ago… I just didn’t want you to have to feel that pain too..” Jezebel always planned that if they had gotten back together, she would tell him then, but that didn’t happen.

What if. Why was life filled with so many “What If’s”? What did it always have to be like that? Would he have been happier if things were different. Perhaps Jordan would never know the answer to that. But standing there, in Jezebel’s arms it was as if everything else was out of his mind. He wasn’t thinking about all of the other responsibilities he had in his life. Because for a mere second, for the time that he was holding her - all Jordan could remember was being that 17-year-old boy who would have done anything for Jezebel Sloane. Who would have raised a child with her and would have never regretted it for a second. But that’s now how life was and that wasn’t how their life turned out. They both went on their own path years ago, but now here they were, mourning a child that they could have had together. Hell, Mourning a life they could have had together.

The pain that Jordan felt knowing this truth - Jezebel’s truth didn’t compare to the one he felt earlier. Because before, it was a pain of feeling as if the girl he loved never loved him. And now, it was a feeling of regret over what he did to her alongside the additional pain she had been through by herself. Jordan looked into her eyes, tears streaming from both of their faces as she spoke. Jordan brought his hand to her cheek, wiping her tears as she spoke. “Hey…shh. We can’t change the past Jezebel and you didn’t do anything wrong, don’t be sorry,” he whispered. “I’m sorry. God, I’m so… so sorry for being an idiot. I’m sorry for not believing my gut when I knew there had to be more to the story because even after everything, I do know you, Jezebel. And I know you would never intentionally try to hurt me which is why I felt as if my walls were falling apart when I thought that you had made a decision to get rid of the baby without telling me.” A sigh left his lips as he closed his eyes, leaning against her forehead. “I know that now Jez… but no matter what, you could have always told me anything…” A soft sigh left his lips as he finally opened his eyes. There was this feeling… this bubble that he found himself in sucked into a time warp where everything else in the world didn’t matter. All he cared about was this moment, being there. So when he opened his eyes and met her own, he couldn’t… he wasn’t thinking as he slowly brought his lips to her own, tasting her for the first time in 10 years. And that feeling… it was euphoric. It was as if the two were still children who were ready to take on the world together. His first love… and he couldn’t help himself because part of him would always love her… and perhaps that’s why he let his mind push away his other thoughts, his other responsibilities, and just found himself in this moment.

Dorian DeLoughrey

Rumors coming from the soccer team… now that explained a few things. Rumors Dorian never started, was never a part of the group that did and once again Daniel was only assuming what happened. But he couldn’t blame him, he had a reason to think Dorian was behind some of them. Jessica did leave, he was mad… it would make sense, right? Too bad he believed in something that wasn’t true. No matter how much Dorian was hurt at that time he would never do it, not to someone he once called his best friend. It was simple as that. “Oh, that…” he started, shaking his head at what he was hearing. All those accusations that were simply wrong. “I never said one bad thing about her. Just because it came from my team doesn’t mean I was the one behind everything. She did leave a… message, that’s another thing you’re wrong about and no matter how much my ego was hurt she was still my best friend, Daniel. You don’t do that to your friends. So sure, think what you want, hate me for something I never did but I know I’m not the one who made a mistake here.”

His confusion only continued when Daniel started asking him what he wanted and mentioned his watch? “This?” Lifting his arms up to look at it, he chuckled, shaking his head. “I got this from my parents.” And he did… right? Not for a second did he think Daniel was being serious… was he being serious? Why would he say it if he wasn’t? That’s when certain memories came back to Dorian, times when he used to cuddle with Jessica, catching her glancing at it ever so often. It would… make sense. It would also make him look like a jerk for treating her the way he did so many years ago. And sooooo what if he was still pining over her? Hater. "I don’t want anything from you, you can chill and I’m not going to tell her because I have morals and actually think about consequences. You can forget this ever happened and find someone to get us out of here. I don’t care that there’s no signal, I don’t want to spend another minute in this room with you.” Mumbling as he got up, he walked over to the door in a hopeless attempt to open it, knowing very well that wasn’t going to happen. But don’t blame him from not wanting to look at Daniel anymore. “We both see a reason, don’t we?” Adding to Dan’s comment, he turned to Andy.

Graduation was much more so a beginning than an ending for Sadie, she knew she was going to miss everyone, though when Sadie told people she’d stay in touch she meant it. But she knew the end of Senior Year was something she couldn’t be upset about. No, Sadie didn’t have a clear direction for where she was going to go or what she was going to do, but she had enough hope for it to be good. Suddenly having someone she was unexpectedly falling in love with: Sadie’s life had completely changed over the past few months, and now with a surprised Blue Royalty win, it began to seem like it was always going to be that way.

And that it was. From the get-go, Sadie began to pursue the music career she had always thought was only a wild but impossible ambition. Admittedly, the new status of Blue Royalty gave her a head start. But what came with the exhilarating highs of people actually liking her music and buying her album was the extremely dark lows that the music industry and fame inevitably entailed such as overly-friendly music producers and being told that the Jordan Williams actually belonged with someone like Dove Cameron or Lana Condor.

Though opinions from ‘fans’ never affected Sadie and Jordan’s relationship. Maybe Sadie was too optimistic, but all she knew was that she had fallen for Jordan Williams. And had done so very intensely. He so effortlessly became a fundamental part of her life, and she could only see a future with him in it. And who else can say their boyfriend was an insanely talented singer, actor, dancer and Broadway star? Sadie was lucky enough to say so, having a front-row seat at every step along the way.

That stayed true during Jordan’s Broadway premiere in 2023. The front row had been taken up by friends and relatives all coming to support on the big night. Though it certainly wasn’t the first time Sadie had watched him perform, the excitement from her leading up to it never lessened.

But this time, Sadie soon realised, was different to the rest. The performance was not one Jordan had claimed it was before. It didn’t take long for her to recognise the storyline being presented, identifying to the point of almost invasiveness, as it was one she had lived. While her mind filled with questions on how this was even possible, they were all ignored by Sadie’s captivation to the stage - to him. Jordan had turned their story into a fairytale, even more so than he did every minute of the three and a half years.

Just as she had thought nothing could top this, the undying attention Sadie had given Jordan for the past few hours had suddenly become reciprocated. The fourth wall had been officially broken, and suddenly he was stood - well, kneeling- in front of her and it was as if she’d fallen in love all over again. Needless to say there wasn’t a single doubt in her mind. Disbelief, of course, which she made no effort to hide in front of the audience, but nothing too much to delay the easiest ‘yes’ she’d ever said.

The feeling of walking on air never left after that. Call it the ‘honeymoon period’, but how many do you know last seven years? Jordan and Sadie were the exception to that. And it only got better as time went on. Their wedding, and the birth of their two children, that automatically brought a whole new kind of love she didn’t even know she had the capacity for. Honestly, Sadie had won, and she couldn’t be happier.

After a decade away from her former classmates, Sadie was glad to be having a reunion. While she made an effort to stay in contact with everyone, most people were focused on their own lives, which was fair. But today meant she could properly catch up with those she had spoken to less. So, when her and Jordan eventually took separate pathways, Sadie weaved around the group of familiar faces that gave her a sense of nostalgia. Giving a small wave towards Valerie Parker and then Dorian DeLoughrey, two people she was and have attempted to stay close with. However after the several conversations, Sadie had started, she decided to split off and look around the ridiculously luxurious cruise that they were on.

That’s when Sadie approached the closed ballroom that she didn’t realise was the same one with Jezebel and Jordan, but she soon found out that fact when her eyes fell on the window. Though it took her a moment to bring herself to do so, Sadie had to look twice to actually see what was happening.

Having spoken to Jezebel the night of graduation, Sadie knew she had to ask Jordan the question, the insecurity and doubt, that had secretly held her back continuously from putting all into their rapidly growing relationship. The feelings she was beginning to have for him were scaring her, especially since Sadie couldn’t be completely sure it was reciprocated.

Alone with Jordan on the rooftop of Rockefeller Residence, now was as good of a time as any to ask, even if she didn’t really want to ever know the answer. Sadie was giving him a way out, letting him tell her that her feelings weren’t mutual, and instead his were for someone else. It was probably the last time she could find out the answer without being completely heartbroken. If he told her right now, it would be okay - her mind had overthought about it so much, she had basically been expecting that answer - and she could maybe get over it.

“Do you wish it had worked out, and that you were still with Jezebel?”

Everything that Sadie and Jordan had built up over the decade felt like it had begun to unravel, and she was that teenager again. Insecure about the fact that a lifetime of her trying wouldn’t be able to overtake the everlasting history and feelings between him and Jezebel. Maybe those worries had lessened and almost completely vanished over the years, though now they seemed to be justified as it took only a matter of hours for him to completely override their relationship. Guess it is true, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

What do you do when you watch one fleeting moment ruin ten years? Sadie didn’t know, but she had the urge to get away from what she had seen. Maybe if she left it will go away. She wasn’t sure how far she had gotten from it, but her thoughts were interrupted when she soon ran into Riker Taylor. Being caught off guard, Sadie wasn’t given much time to hide the visible distress and heartbreak from him. She realised how much she couldn’t put into words what she had seen when Riker asked. “He…” She started, not even being able to say his name, feeling tears forming as saying it out loud suddenly made it very real. “… kissed Jezebel.”

“Oh that…”

Daniel rolled his eyes at the man’s intellectual response - wishing he had another drink. Or… His mind went back to his phone of his… wife who, albeit frustrating him with her “have fun” sentiment did say something about there being alcohol hidden here. Whether that was true or not - it was something worth checking out. Getting up, Daniel looked around the room, casually opening random drawers without saying anything to the other two. Despite the distraction, he was listening to what Dorian said. Though - did Daniel believe him… well he didn’t know. Daniel had never found the exact perpetrators of the rumors - but he did narrow it down to being people on the soccer team. And really that only lead to one answer. Dorian DeLoughrey. So did Dan do a little assuming? Maybe. It was an educated guess - could you blame him?

“Well, did you say anything to stop them, Dorian? Or did you decide you were too good for that and it just helped your bloody conscious to let them do your bidding?” Dan asked casually - attempting to rationalize Daniel’s hatred for the man that was so deeply rooted in the fact that he was a backstabber that it was hard to get out of that mindset. Hard to look in the mirror and realize that he may have been an assh0le for no reason. Well, granted, Dorian was still an idiot so there was that.

Dan continued to poke around the space, listening as Dorian said something about getting the watch from his parents which only resulted in a soft laugh from Dan. “Right… See you can use that with anyone else, Dorian. But you should know better than try to lie to me. I was with Jess when she bought that limited edition watch. I didn’t realize it was for you until I saw it on your wrist. I guess I should have put two and two together when she kept arguing with the engraver to do an engraving on the outside and inside but I thought it was just her being her normal self.” Dan shrugged. Honestly, he had just assumed it was a gift for her father or something. Though it was simply hilarious that Dorian thought he could keep this act up or… wow did he really not know. That truly would be even more hilarious.

It took about 5 minutes, but it seemed that Valerie wasn’t lying. There was, indeed, a cabinet with alcohol, snacks, and… condoms. Yeah… let’s not discuss that last one. Taking one of the many bottles in the cabinet - Dan raised the bottle towards Dorian with his sentiment of not wanting to be in the room with him, though skeptical about his mention of not saying anything to her. Dan was… worried. Honestly. Hence taking a seat back in his corner as he took a long drink of the Fireball he had grabbed. “Not everything can be solved by having biceps, DeLoughrey, but don’t mind me. Keep wasting your time.” Dan stated with a roll of his eyes.

”Couldn’t care less” he muttered under his breath at Daniel’s comment on the big bad wolf. And as the other two kept arguing, Andy listened to them. He remembered those rumors the soccer team spread out, but frankly he never thought it was Dorian, and by the way it seemed it really wasn’t Dorian, though not doing anything to stop it is a bit like being a part of it in the first place. And Daniel did make a mistaking assumption, but who was he to judge when he was doing the exact same thing.
“Andy. At least tell me you see reason. There are some things you don’t say. Not to Jessica.”
”For once he’s not wrong. Jess can take a lot, but her family is the limit, let Daniel live with his mistakes knowing he caused her pain and she’ll never know.” he said in response
As resting his back on the wall, Andy watched as Daniel scooped around the room, finding snacks and booze… and condoms? And headed over there grabbing a bottle himself ”But having problems and biceps is still better than having just problems and no biceps at all” he said and took a drink

Mareena Stokes

The minute she stepped onto this boat, she was ready to see everyone or she could always hide out in her room. Both were very viable options at this point. She has the alcohol… that she could keep to herself. Visibly shaking her head to herself, she was here to see everyone again so why should she stay cooped up on her own? To think that some of these people she used to know a ton about them and now some of them she didn’t even know a ton about them. Friends and foes, people that she invited to her wedding and others she never even thought too. Like Jess for example was a bridesmaid and boy did she make it fun. It’s Jess, she always knows how to do that. Mare had some of her newfound college friends and old high school friends come too. That wedding was not a night to forget.

So as she ran into Jess, a girl that she has been hanging out with multiple times throughout the years. Quite a few times where Jess just fell on her own… especially after tripping on one of the kids toys. She practically almost peed her pants with laughter. The twins ran away so fast as they both could hear the little giggles coming from them. It’s safe to say we left the house soon after.

Mare tilted her head to the side in response,”Now that’s correct, but do I plan on just stealing some of yours? Yes.” Pausing for a brief moment in between,”Did you mean edibles or like actual food? cause i’m happy with either.” She responded with a light smile as she knelt down to help her pick these things up… as it was her fault for running into each other. Just as Jess was putting a few things away, her eyes drifted to the stuff she just put in the bag. Her eyes went wide and looked back up at her, who was still working on putting the other things back in the bags. Was she pregnant? Did Mareena wanna scream out of excitement, yes. Can she, no. Honestly, Mare didn’t know what to say or how to bring it up. Instead, she continued push things back into their respective bags, so she could have time to think. She helped Jess and took some of the bags on her arms too. So much for them sharing Jess’s favorite, if she does be pregnant then that’ll be a big no no. So no harm in asking, right? It’s a baby, that’s good news! “So… you think you are pregnant? Something tells me we shouldn’t drink the alcohol tonight if so…” That when good, she thinks anyways.

“What would you do without me…” She repeated the question silently, just loud enough to hear. “… Probably go crazy,” Mare shrugged with small laugh. “I’m just too good to be true, of course,” At least she rn into someone she is comfortable with rather than someone she hasn’t seen in years. She gets that’s basically the premise of this reunion, but that doesn’t mean she exactly wants to. One thing she really hopes doesn’t ignite is all of the drama between everyone. Disastrous.

A soft laugh escaped Jess’ lips as the girl asked her to distinguish between edibles or actual food. “You know, if I had time I would have grabbed some edibles but alas, It was either food or edibles and I went with food,” Jess teased. She knew the moment the tests dropped out that Mareena would see them… especially as the girl soon bent down to help her. The girl couldn’t help stop the speeding of her heart as Mareena asked if she thought she was pregnant. Because honestly… all it did was bring her mind back to when she was 20, looking at a positive test in Dorian’s bathroom. Because Mareena asking made it real.

The girl stopped in her tracks at her words, taking deep breaths without saying anything for a few moments as Mareena continued their banter. “I don’t…” Jess started looking at the test in the bag trying to calm her mind. Whoever thought that something as simple as two lines could cause this much distress. “I don’t know but…” Jess continued, standing up with a sigh, “I need to find out… do you mind if I?” Jess asked pointing to the girl’s room. Perhaps Jess should just wait until she got to her own room… but this was something that had been filling her mind all day. And it wasn’t long until Jess was sitting in the bathroom in Mare’s room waiting for the clock on her timer to ring so she could just bloody check the first of the three tests she had bought. Nothing could even begin to describe the fear Jessica felt if that test was positive. Fear because of what had happened last time… or rather, the pain that she had been through while sitting in her home decorated for her children that were never born.

Jessica was pacing in Mareena’s room, and though Mare was saying something - likely to calm the girl down - Jess had blocked her out. Up until the moment, she heard the timer ring and went to check the test sitting on the bathroom counter… one that only revealed what Jess already feared. A positive sign. “No… nope. Give me the other two tests. It’s not… I can’t be…” Jess mumbled, going to the bag where she had placed multiple tests. “It’s just… a false positive,” Jess told Mareena with confidence as she grabbed a water bottle and chugged it trying to induce needing to use the bathroom again which honestly were the most difficult 10 minutes in her life of just chugging water and juice as Mareena tried to calm her down.

And there she was again, waiting - once again - for confirmation of something she already knew was true. As her timer rang for the second time, this time Jess couldn’t make up the courage to go look. Instead, she asked the girl who was sitting with her to do so. And then Mareena said it… which almost made the whole thing more real. “They both say you’re pregnant”

It was immediate. The worry. The hyperventilation. Jessica Pierce felt as if she couldn’t breathe as her mind went over what happened the first time. All the emotions of guilt wracking her body as she rushed outside of the room needing… begging for air. Walking towards the edge, Jess placed her elbow on the rails and immediately placed her head in her hands as a soft sob left her lips - her mind recalling how she felt when she had lost her babies the first time and how she truly could not handle it if it happened again.

@angelic - You did. I’m proud. I’m almost thinking Mare walks out with the positive test she was reading from to go comfort Jess as Dori comes?
@astxrism - good luck with that.

Dorian DeLoughrey

It was a good question - did Dorian ever say anything to stop the rumors? That was a time when he was stuck in his own head, ignoring everything and everyone around him to even pay attention to what people were saying. It was a time when his confusion and sadness turned into anger but he did, he did try to stop the rumors. Not as hard as he should’ve had but he did. It’s just hard to do that when everyone was already talking about endless possibilities to why Jessica disappeared. “Yes, there wasn’t much I could do,” Dorian hesitantly and quickly replied, letting the man think whatever he wanted, but that wasn’t a lie. He just didn’t have energy to argue with him when he knew it wouldn’t get him anywhere. What was supposed to happen? Daniel would just continue being his usual self and no matter what, everything Dorian learned in this few minutes he’s been stuck with Daniel and Andy only made him despise the man more so did he care? No.

“Yeah, sure,” hearing Dan’s story about the watch made him chuckle, covering up the fact that he didn’t know what to think or how to feel about it. At first he didn’t exactly believe him but Daniel wouldn’t joke about it. It was a great opportunity to call him out on being clueless, so… There wasn’t anything else Dorian said. He couldn’t check the engraving and he couldn’t ask Jessica. At least not now when he was stuck in the room but as soon as he gets out that’s what he was going to… and maybe b!tch about Daniel but that wasn’t important. He continued laughing lightly after Andy’s statements but once again not adding anything. It was true and Dorian’s comment wasn’t needed, Dan will have to live knowing he was the one who caused Jessica pain and she’ll never know about it, at least Dorian wouldn’t be the one to tell her. And it really was better having problems and biceps. Good try lightening up the mood a little bit but there was nothing that could do that.

Leaning against the door he couldn’t open, he watched as the two got some kind of bottles from a cabinet, immediately drinking from them. “Sorry, I was just trying to make this easier for us and hopefully get us out but I see you like it here,” staying quiet after, he just stood there with crossed arms before the door behind him started opening, making him stumble back. Rushing out, he closed the door behind him the same second, smiling at the guy in front of him - a worker from what he could guess. Sorry Andy, can’t have Daniel running after me now. “Thank you!” “Uhm… my… someone is in there and it’s kind of important so can you please leave them and maybe check in on them in 10 minutes? Yeah? Great!” Not waiting for a response, Dorian walked past him, knowing what he was going to do next but not where he was supposed to go. So he walked to the main deck where people were gathering, hoping to find his friend and steal her away for a moment but she was nowhere to be found, not even in the halls… until he got to the other side of the boat, spotting her at the edge.

“There you are. For a second I thought you missed the-” he started with a cheeky smile, slowly approaching her from behind. That was until he noticed she was… crying? His own heart immediately dropped as he rushed to her with a look of concern on his face, placing his hands on her waist to turn her towards him. “Hey… hey, look at me,” whispering, he gently cupped her cheeks and wiped away her tears, a small frown on his lips. “What happened?” But his arms quickly found their way around her body, pulling her in for a tight hug as he continued. “What’s wrong?”

There was always a cheekiness that filled him when he was with Yara. Despite growing up, the two never grew apart. She was his friend and would always stay like that. So after her punching his arm for taking her drink, which… granted hurt… the two just talked… falling into their old ways as they often did.

Though in his laughter and light-hearted ways was when Riker noticed a distressed girl walking in his direction. Though it was clear she wasn’t watching where she was going, when in approaching her, Sadie ran into his chest. “Woah Sadie, you okay?” Riker asked, worry falling on his features as he looked at the girl. Over the years, Sadie Monroe had become like another sister to him and honestly, he cared a lot for her. She was everything he had ever wished Jordan would have in his life and Riker was right. Jordan and Sadie were as happy as could be. Sure Riker meddled a bit in the past but for the happiness of his friend, it was worth it. Though seeing Sadie now just… worried him.

"He… kissed Jezebel.”

It took a second for Riker to form what had happened, his eyes widening as he heard what the girl had said. “You… Jordan…” there was anger that immediately formed within Riker when he heard what the girl had said. “Where the fck is he?” Riker asked, though he only waited a second before moving towards where Sadie was coming from. It took him only about a minute to realize where Jordan was as there was a window with full view of the two makings out.

Not even waiting for a second before walking inside. “Are you FCKING kidding me. Jordan? Really?” Riker asked, not even looking at Jezebel as he marched it. Part of it was for the threat Daniel had placed on his family if he talked to her but at the same time - this, THIS was unacceptable. "You’re really ready to throw away 10 years with your wife, Jordan, who by the way is currently crying right now for this? For this girl who has caused you nothing but pain. What the actual hell is wrong with you and Jezebel. Don’t even fcking get me started on you. Really? I always knew you were a homewrecker I just thought you had enough sense to leave Jordan out of it after he made it clear he doesn’t want to talk to you.

“Couldn’t care less”

“Of course you couldn’t. Is there anything you care about anymore or are you just a washed-out bum now?” Dan asked. “I can’t believe I used to actually care what happened to you at one point in my life. But if I was your friend, I’d tell you that you need to get out of whatever this phase is. If for anyone, for your damn daughter.” Dan stated before going after Dorian which really used to be the highlight of his day.

He was glad that Andy could at least see reason, though he wasn’t exactly… happy with his next sentiment of living with his mistakes. Though it was true… Daniel had been living with his mistakes for the last 10 years. And that killed him every day. Though he didn’t let that frustration show to the other two in the room - rolling his eyes at the idiotic joke that Andy shared.

“Don’t bull sh!t me Dorian, the rumors were coming from the team you were on. You might not have been captain but don’t act like you couldn’t have done anything. You were just too much of a little b!tch to try. And that, right there, that’s why you and Jess wouldn’t have ever worked out. Because you always cared more about yourself than you cared about her,” Perhaps egging Dorian on wasn’t the best thing to do in an enclosed space. But taking a swing of his drink, Dan soon realized that the idiot had escaped and purposefully locked the door after him. “Motherfcker,” Dan groaned looking at Andy. “That. That thing. And you really approved of that with Jess,” Dan asked shaking his head with frustration as he went to the door and slammed his fist against it. “And you’re related to that? I’m sorry for you.”
