Delilah Rose Hawthorne
Delilah scowled in disgust at Mamoud as he walked away, going to the football field as the intercom had instructed him too. Being the intrusive person she was (and from the familiarity in the voice that projected down the halls), Delilah decided to go to the window that directly faced the field. When she looked outside, Delilah was not surprised to see Daniel, the centre of attention, standing in a private jet to leave for their vacation. Which also meant he was leaving her with the unresolved issue that he had mainly created.
She couldn’t be too surprised, Daniel as careless as her - perhaps even more so, though she didn’t expect that it would apply to scenarios like this. Though she was convinced Daniel had completely neglected the ongoing circumstance, she still looked at him, intently, trying to detect the worry hiding in his face - not caring if he noticed her. But, looking at him made it evident that he had probably forgotten, or, it was more likely that he was choosing to take himself out of the situation.
Making no effort to try to intervene or stop the private jet that was about to leave, Delilah instead revisited the corridor - which seemed to be the only place she really went to at school. While walking through, her eyes fell on someone familiar, looking down at what she could assume to be his Secret Santa. Before approaching, she watched as he got through the entire book (which consisted of pictures of himself and a older girl) - as Delilah knew he wouldn’t let her see it otherwise.
“Who’s that?” Delilah asked him as the final page unveiled in front of her eyes. Instead of letting him answer, because, once again, she knew he wouldn’t, Delilah began listing the possibilities to watch for the different reactions that will hint the answer - her brain already working to find the hidden secret or agenda in the book. “Cousin? Sister?” Then she raised one eyebrow, intrigued at the possibility of the last one. “Sugar Mama?”
