“Aspen? Now?” Whispering to herself, still shocked with what was happening on this day, she stayed where she was not knowing what to do. Thinking about it, it was probably the best thing that happened to her. Getting away from everyone, from her family and people here, all the secrets was exactly what she needed. But it was so sudden. The plan wasn’t for them to leave now, but before she had the chance to properly react she heard another person behind her, making her turn almost right away. You have 5 minutes to decide if you are getting on this helicopter or not. Hearing that, she looked back at Daniel hoping he was joking, but it was pretty clear he wasn’t, considering he was in his helicopter, hacking the intercom.
“Hey, don’t hate on my sword,” laughing, he brought the sword closer to him, examining it in almost a proud way before Maverick mentioned Candice, making him look back at him and a little gift bag he was holding. Was he jealous he didn’t get anything from someone else? Maybe he was but he hid it by putting on a soft smile, curiously raising his brow. “What did you get? It must be-” Hearing Daniel’s voice calling for three students, including his sister, he immediately looked up at one of the speakers obviously confused. “Helicopter? What?” Mumbling to himself, he looked back at Maverick as if he knew what was happening but it didn’t take him long to actually figure it out. Was Elodie about to go to Aspen? With Daniel? On his helicopter?
“Hold that thought!” Quickly adding, referring to the gift Maverick received from Candice he took a few steps back before turning and running towards the football field. He couldn’t let her go now, just like that. She never even mentioned going to Aspen… with Daniel. That was probably the last person he wanted her to spend her time with. He wasn’t a good influence, especially not for someone like her.
“What in the world is this? Elodie?” Knowing that voice pretty well, she took a deep breath in, expecting something like this would happen. Not wanting to turn and face him, she started walking towards the helicopter holding back the tears. Hearing him only reminded her of what happened when she got to the school. This was exactly why she was partly happy about this sudden trip. It meant she didn’t have to face her family but apparently she was wrong. “Elodie,” feeling him grabbing her arm, she turned rolling her eyes, trying hard to make it seem like she was alright. “I forgot to tell you, now let go,” she calmly said, looking down at his hand. She knew he would react like this, he didn’t really like Daniel for some reason. That’s why she wanted to wait for the perfect moment to tell him but now was too late. “Stop being dramatic. Nothing will happen to me.” Quickly adding, she took a step back, crossing her arms in a defending way. “You’re not going with him,” that was the only thing she heard before she turned to run to the helicopter, leaving him behind and ignoring everything he said.
Hoping Mikel and Mamoud would join them quickly, she took a seat, resting her head back and closing her eyes. “What about Jezebel?” She managed to say as she leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees and covering her face with her hands. Jezebel was supposed to go with them too and celebrate her birthday. Elodie already had a little surprised planned out for her so she was confused when Daniel didn’t call out for her too.
