“You’d be the first person I’d call… your phone number is the only one I’ve had memorized since we were kids.” Candice laughed, “You know - In case I need bail,” She revealed with a cheeky smile as she nudged the girl. As the conversation moved over to the Hunter boys, the girl nodded. “Always blame it on the alcohol - but I guess Calen did inherit his blonde hair from his dad. Though he dyed it brown now,” Candice explained, “But tell me - how is Mr. Hunter in bed?” Candice questioned - wiggling her eyebrows with a laugh.
When she entered the closet after her mother’s disappearance, Candice smiled sadly at her friend when she said she overheard what had happened. Valerie had met Candice’s father multiple times - and both girls agreed he was clearly the better parent. Edward Clarke was a supportive, loving father who had always been there for Candice. However, when Candice’s mother got a divorce from her father and Candice wanted to go live with him; she had the man declared as an unfit parent with her lawyers making it so that Candice could never see him. Though - both Val and Candice had snuck off every now and again and visited the man who traveled around the world to take photos simply to spend time with the man.
“So now you know why I haven’t just left,” Candice whispered as she changed her clothes. “She has proof that I’ve been visiting him and talking to him even though there is a restraining order against him and he’s not allowed to see me without her permission. If she brings that to court - He’ll get 10-20 years in prison,” Candice explained as she pulled her jeans on and a shirt - even though she’d have to change the moment she got to the photoshoot.
As she was done, Candice walked back towards her friend and pulled her into another hug, “It’s fine; I’ll deal with it. Just… don’t tell anyone at school. Let them have the illusion that I’m having the time of my life skipping school and modeling,” Candice explained. “Um… once I get in the car - the house should be empty and you don’t have to worry about leaving and getting caught,” She smiled.
