“I-“ Was the only thing Elodie could manage to say before chuckling and shaking her head, looking down at the glass in front of her, feeling her cheeks starting to burn slightly. And what would you have said if she asked who you’re going out to see so early? That was a question she was expecting or knew how to answer. “She’d only have questions for you, trying to psychoanalyze you,” she quietly continued, smiling shyly. “In her own, not intimidating way but I would’ve saved you from that, and I will when it actually happens, don’t worry,” joking, she chuckled before lifting the glass up to her lips and mumbling, “And I would’ve told the truth,” before taking a sip of the juice. What was the truth didn’t matter - he didn’t have to know. No matter how hard she’d try to hide something, she could never lie to her mother. She was also never that good at lying and Davina notices everything so she would’ve told her the truth - she was going out with a friend. A friend she liked.
The moment he brought out strawberries and chocolate, she forgot about the previous, in her mind, embarrassing question he had for her and smiled widely. If there was one thing Elodie couldn’t live without it was sugar. The girl had the biggest sweet tooth and could eat sweets all day, but being healthy is a priority… “Yes,” she replied with excitement in her voice, not wasting time to reach for one strawberry and dip it in chocolate. “You really did bring everything you could think of, didn’t you?” With a soft smile, she teasing said, leaning back in her chair. It really was impressive and more than she could ever expect - not just the food but the whole date. She loved every single thing about it, even if they were so high up.
As their silly conversation moved to Ariel, Elodie felt her smile only growing bigger, for God knows what time. It was relaxing, nice talking to someone about the most random things - joking. What other guy would ever joke with her like this? “Oh, you did not,” she fake gasped when he said he “accidentally” took something from Ariel but a shyer smile soon appeared on her lips at the mentioning of Melody. She didn’t know how to reply to that without sounding nervous, so she kept the smile on and let him continue talking.
Another chuckle escaped her lips as she took a second to properly look at him. His sister was right. “You do actually look like him. And no, being hit with a frying pan doesn’t sound good at all, let’s not do that,” laughing, she shook her head. “I do agree with that, it’s a good movie. But Cinderella is my favorite, as cliche as it is,” answering his question, she smiled softly. “I just like the message. Good conquers evil, there is great strength in kindness…” Elodie continued quietly, subtly shrugging her shoulders. “But I guess every Disney movie is like that, when you think about it. And you have to say your favorite is Finding Nemo because I’ll definitely tell your fish friends if it’s not.”
