Luciano Ribeiro ft. Aline
Things that would've happened at some point but I have no energy to write any sort of flashback for
- the parents talk to les jeunes filles (and the twins but they alr knew beforehand) about the fact that they have a half-sis now
- during said family meeting, it is revealed that daddio was still screwing ms. wood
- it is revealed that luci knew about this siiiince January, around the time their mami announced preggo
- so father has been sleeping in the guest bedroom, until he moved in “”““temporarily””“” with eldest daughter recently
- and aline’s been all passy aggro because luci didn’t tell her this happened
- mother has been distant from her favourite child but it be like that sometimes
- tho, this has allowed aline and mother to bond more as the news was a surprise to both of them
- and the young girls are kinda just… there. like. they know way too much about their parents’ marriage and they don’t understand all of what is happening besides the fact that there is a lot of tension between eveeeryyoone
These past few months had been pretty wack, for lack of a better word. It had pretty much been tragedy after tragedy, not necessarily ones that had been affecting him personally, but still. Like, let’s just look back a couple of weeks ago, the soccer game, where a psycho serial killer related to that Malachi dude showed up and stabbed Jessica, and then Malachi, and then Jezebel went into, like, premature labour? It was giving very ~what the f^ck~ type energy because, well, what the f^ck???
His thoughts had been pretty scattered recently because of all of the events at this school, and also because the long-winded fight between his parents raged on and it seemed like there wouldn’t be an end to it anytime soon. Especially with Jezebel going into labour 'cause of all the stress, he couldn’t help but be concerned about his Mami, as now that Fred had moved into his stepsister, Kaitlyn’s house, it was on her to take care of four kids and carry a child. But if she was feeling the effects of everything, she wasn’t telling him, wasn’t talking to him much at all, if he were being completely honest. Aline had mostly gotten over the fact that he’d hidden this from her for so long, but his mom… it was different now. It wasn’t like she was mad at him for not telling her, he knew she understood his reasonings, she was more upset that it was her own child who had to see this, her own child who felt like he had to withhold it from her. And she was hurting still… so Lui understood, and he didn’t push her.
He wasn’t really sure how it had happened entirely, but he was standing in a kingdom called Listaria, dressed all up in a fancy suit and everything, to attend a wedding of a kid he didn’t know and a princess he hadn’t known existed. It was a royal wedding though, and that wasn’t something you passed up, even if you didn’t know any of the participants.
Luciano walked into the venue with Aline, the two of them silent as they took in the beautiful castle. Their vibe had been off for some time now, but the lingering uneasiness faded in their awed silence. They were pretty rich from their mother marrying into money, but a literal castle did faze them yes. It was when they were walking into the venue in which Aline abruptly came to a stop, her hand gripping the sleeve of Lui’s suit. He glanced at her, confused, but when she kept staring straight ahead, he followed the path of her gaze, his eyes landing on a guy in plum-coloured suit, whose shape he recognized almost immediately.
“It’s Gio,” Aline breathed beside him, taking the words from his mouth.
How long had it been since he had last seen Gio? He couldn’t remember, but he knew it had been awhile since he was released from the hospital. Lui had pretty much given up hope that his former boyfriend would be coming back, and now here he was, standing just a few feet away from him.
Through the fast-paced race that was his thoughts, one memory held; this moment was identical to the one at prom. There, they had been dressed formally too, talking amongst themselves until Aline had pointed Gio out, nudging Lui in his direction. Then, though, he’d been happy to see Gio, excited to get to spend prom with him, even if it was going to have to be a secret affair. Now, his happiness at Gio’s reappearance was tainted by tendrils of guilt that snaked up his conscience, and the knowledge that their relationship was lost to Gio even though it was those memories that haunted him late at night. But, just like at prom, there was a faint feeling of hope that floated around his mind, irrational and stubborn and unwilling to lessen the grip it had on him.
“Let’s go,” Aline said, her words breaking him out of his thoughts.
His head snapped her way, his feet staying rooted to the floor. “What?”
She exhaled impatiently, turning back to him with her arms crossed against her chest. “Let’s go talk to him.” Lui looked nervous but Aline silenced any protests with an unimpressed look. “So he doesn’t remember us. ¿Y qué? He’s still the same Gio, and I don’t know about you, but I miss him.” A flicker of pain flashed across her face, the look clearing into an expression resembling the hope he felt. Perhaps he still looked unsure, as she sighed gently, slipping her hand into his to give it a soft squeeze. “Luc, you need to forgive yourself. It happened, and Dios mío, it was awful, but you can’t go back. Only forward.” She paused. “Do you want to date him again?”
“Yeah,” he replied without hesitation. “But it doesn’t matter what I think, he hardly even knows who I am.”
“Then let’s get to know him.”
She slid her hand out of his, taking his arm instead and leading him to where Gio stood, the smile spreading across her face as they got closer to him. “Gio! Hi!” She called, seemingly unfazed by the fact that he wouldn’t know her as well as she knew him. As soon as she reached him, she wrapped her arms around his body, giving him a warm hug. “I’m so glad you’re okay,” she murmured before stepping back, her eyes taking in the suit. “You look amazing, this suits you so well.” She threw a glance at Lui, cocking her head slightly. “Doesn’t he look amazing, Lui?”
Warmth spread to his cheeks, a short chuckle escaping his lips. “Yes, you look amazing. As always,” he said gently. He raised his hand in a slight wave, offering him a smile. “Hey Gio. It’s… good to see you back.”
