Though she had missed the first party in this same place, Sadie still felt all the feelings of graduating at the party - relief yet somewhat sadness from leaving everyone. Thankfully her consistently high grades prior to the ‘incident’, which she had continuously been working hard to get, managed to be enough to carry her through to graduation and now today was goodbye to everyone. While it seemed most people, including juniors that had snuck in to see the final five, were attending for the results of Blue Royalty. But as it had at the beginning, the almost non-existent chance Sadie naturally prevented her from caring too much.
Entering the opulent building, Sadie automatically hid the anxiousness she felt when she was practically thrown into the large crowd of people that had already filled the room. As she weaved through people in an attempt to find a clear space, her eyes met some she crossed paths with - to which Sadie exchanged very brief words with over the loud sound of music blasting.
“Hey, happy Graduation!”
“I love your outfit!”
“Good luck with Blue Royalty!”
Finally, Sadie took an exhale when she found a quieter space that would possibly bring more conversation. That’s when she saw Jezebel and almost by instinct looked down - hoping that she may not have caught her looking. But it came to her surprise when moments later Jezebel was in her sight again, a lot closer this time and looking very much at Sadie - in fact, talking to her too. No, Sadie didn’t have a problem with Jezebel. She could never, she hardly knew her. But there was undeniably awkwardness between them due to their connection to each other. Which wasn’t that they were on the same cheerleading squad.
“Jezebel, hi I didn’t, uh, see you th- hey,” Sadie stammered, the unmissable nervous energy radiating off her, not knowing what the right thing to say to her was. “Sorry, yeah, I mean, I’m okay. As okay as… someone would be in, uh, the… circumstances,” She continued, assuming Jezebel would have known what those circumstances were through word of other people. “How are you, though?” Sadie asked back, quick to jump on the opportunity to move the subject off of herself. “And t-the baby? Are you both… okay?” She asked, hoping she hadn’t stepped over a line by asking about the baby.
