“Honestly Andy I just…” Dan started, though his voice faltered when he heard the large door finally opening after the idiot, Dorian DeLoughrey, had locked the two in there. Though perhaps something good had come out of it… after all, Dan hadn’t had a conversation like this with Andy in such a long time that maybe it was… good they were finally moving past everything? A sigh of relief left his lips as Dan stood up from the ground, readly to scream at the person to keep the damn door open. Though what he wasn’t expecting was the girl to be Delilah Hawthorne, ironically another person who had avoided him for years. Avoided being… well he knew what she was up to but she clearly was distancing herself from everyone.

The man rolled his eyes about her threesome remark and turned to Andy with his eyebrows raised. “And this…” Dan pointed to Delilah, assuming Dorian had told her where the two were located. “This is why I’m not a fan of your cousin Dorian. But on that note, Delilah love, you’re single - Andy here is single. I can’t say I’m down for a threesome but you two can likely, happily make it into a good ol’ regular two-some?” Dan asked jokingly as he walked over towards where Delilah was standing and put a hand on the door to make sure and keep it open. The moment Daniel Parker found Dorian he would make sure to give that bloody man an earful. Though looking at the two, Dan knew that Andy and Delilah were probably not the most compatible bunch though it didn’t hurt to offer that remark.

“I’m guessing that’s a no?” Dan asked before looking Delilah Hawthorne up and down. She truly was a girl who’s confidence only grew with age. Or at least, she was better at pretending. Pointing at the edge of the boat outside of the engine room, Dan smiled at the girl “Anyways, long time no see Hawthorne. I was so heartbroken when you denied my RSVP to my wedding but I guess I can’t blame you. We do, however, need to have that little chat,” Dan stated before walking over towards the edge, nodding as Andy made his leave back to the main boat. “So I could do all the pretending and act surprised asking ‘Oh my god what have you been doing all this time’ but let’s be honest, Delilah, I know. How are you holding up?” Dan asked honestly because despite everything, he did still care about her.

“Oh you don’t mind huh?” Jess asked, trying to ignore his body moving on top of her until he moved lower. God, he bloody knew exactly what he was doing and it was the epitome of frustrating. Perhaps if Dorian hadn’t given up with his statement of We’re not doing this again, Jess would have been next because honestly - she couldn’t hold back anymore. She was only glad wasn’t the one to do so and was glad that she didn’t have to hold back anymore.

Flashback:

“Hey idiot, come on - we’re going drinking,” Jess stated, standing in front of Dorian’s door at 10:53 PM without any indication that she was in town or coming over. The surprise on his face was soon replaced with a roll of his eyes as he pulled her in for a hug, one she easily returned. Why was she in town? Well - although word travels fast - for a girl who was barely on her phone, word didn’t travel as fast about Dorian’s break up with Clio, and honestly… Jess wanted to be here for him. Really she hadn’t even heard about the break up from him - rather she saw it in a magazine. A MAGAZINE. Was that where their relationship had come to? Honestly, Jess had been waiting for a text from him about his engagement to her after all… she was with Clio when the two of them found the ring and they both knew it was just about time which is why it didn’t make sense that they had broken up. Hence, well… showing up at his door for 1. yelling at him for not telling her and 2. seeing how he was holding up.

Jess had brought him out to a random bar, ordering a round of shots for the two so they could get a little tipsy before the serious discussion which would take place. “So Dorian, Tell me. What happened love?” Jess asked, taking the magazine out of her bag with the words “Breaking News: Dorian DeLougrey newly single,” on the cover. “I thought everything was going so well. I liked Clio,” Jess pouted, looking at her best friend with a sad expression as she put her hand in his to comfort him.

“Jess, I don’t want to talk about that,”

“Dorian… come on. You were going to marry the girl for fcks sake. You don’t go from buying a ring to breaking up and you didn’t even bloody tell me. I had to find out a month and a half late and on a bloody magazine,” Jess sighed, frustrated by the man - taking yet another shot as Dorian looked at her in surprise - maybe over the fact that she knew about the ring though at this point, Jess was far too tipsy to worry about what she was saying.

“The ring wasn’t for her…”

“What? That doesn’t even make since DeLoughrey. If the ring wasn’t for her then who was it for? Elizabeth Olsen?”

There was always a joking tone between the two no matter the conversation, however, as drunk as Jess was getting - Dorian was nearly sober. Or at least… he looked it. Though after that statement, Jess watched as he took a few shots for himself before looking at her. There was something in his eyes that Jess couldn’t place, though all of Jess’ previous bravado dropped when he said his next words. “Jess, that ring was for you. I bought it for you when I thought we would spend the fcking rest of our lives together okay so fine call me an idiot. Tell me how stupid I was for keeping a ring for a girl who made it clear that she just wanted to be friends. It’s not the first time.”

Pain. That’s exactly what she felt looking at Dorian as he took another shot - telling the bartender that he wanted a refill. “Dorian I…” She was at a loss for words and honestly, her heart hurt at his words. He was going to ask her to marry him… ten years ago. Jess looked away from him slightly, the memory of why she had left him meeting her mind and honestly, everything about the two hurt. It hurt that for 10 years, she continued to play this role of being his friend when she always wanted more. But why did he keep it then? It just… didn’t make sense. “I didn’t want to leave you Dorian. I had to… your coach told me it was either me or your career and I wanted… I just wanted you to be happy.” Jess muttered honestly. “… and then I realized I was being stupid a few days later and found that you were over it so I left your key on your kitchen counter and left… I didn’t think you still… god Dorian I wrote you that letter a few months ago and I thought it was clear what you wanted after you ended up with Clio.”

These words… statements that she had been keeping to herself for years had been sitting at the back of her mind and honestly - she never expected herself to tell him. Maybe if she wasn’t on the verge of being drunk, she wouldn’t have. On the other hand, maybe it was time for all of this to come out in the open after ten years of being locked up. And It was those exact words that ended with the two lip-locked, unable to keep their hands off of one another as they made their way back to his apartment. Jess could still remember the intoxicating way his body felt against hers - similar to how she felt at his bachelor party and hell… years earlier when they were together. The simple fact of the matter was he still knew her… knew her body. Every touch she craved, every spot that made her scream. And Jess… well she knew the exact same for him.

It was a few hours later that she found herself sober laying naked against his chest trying to catch her breath as her mind raced - as it often did. What now? Where would the two go from there?

End of Flashback

And where had they gone… well… here. Jess once again laid on his chest, this time actually being thoroughly satisfied as she listened to his breathing and tried to calm her own. Since that night, the two had been inseparable. What the two had was always more than simply being friends they just both… pushed that feeling beneath the surface and it simply came out that night. And clearly… seeing as Jess was currently pregnant, there was more than one thing they ended up making that night. It was his words that brought her out of her thoughts, rather bringing a smile to her face as she looked up at him. “Why? I actually think I like winning our bets for a change. After all, it was such a blast ruining your winning streak and I didn’t even have to pull out the lingeré” Jess laughed, kissing his lips briefly as she laid her head back down.

“We should get up and go back to the real world. You know… go interact with all those people on this boat,” Jess muttered. Part of her didn’t want to leave. Hell… a big part of her would be just as happy staying here for the next two days having sex with Dorian for the remainder of the cruise but she knew better. Even if part of her mind wanted to worry about… other things - she had to keep herself distracted for the time being. “Come on my love. Back out there in the vultures den we go. So what do we tell people? We’re dating again? More than dating? You’re my baby daddy?” Jess teased. Technically they hadn’t defined their relationship yet, but honestly, after so many years - they didn’t need to for them. “… or am I just the girl you’ve been having casual, random sex with here or there?” Jess finished with a soft smile . " I mean, are you ever going to ask me to marry you? " The girl teased - raising her eyebrows at him in curiosity.

Jezebel Mallory Parker

What could Jezebel even say in response to Riker. She knew how she acted when Jordan first returned to Cerulean high was wrong. There was so much emotion, and she couldn’t clear her mind at the time until it was too late. She never meant to play with Jordan’s heart, or Mikel’s either, but she didn’t even fully realize in the moment how her own confusion was impacting them. It was when she realized what she was doing, when she finally got the war in her mind to calm, that she knew exactly what she wanted to do, but then everything got so complicated. Jordan pushed her away, letting her think he accepted money from her mother for himself, then Riker got in the way and by the time she had the chance to really talk to Jordan, after Laurel was born, he had an interest in Sadie and it was really too late. Riker’s announcement to Jordan was really just the final nail in the coffin. She knew what she did wasn’t right. It was never on purpose. It was just the confusion of an emotional girl with a lot on her plate. “You’re right, he deserved the truth, but thats the thing, he never knew the truth before today.” The moment he became the bad guy in Jezebel’s world, wasn’t him telling Jordan she had an abortion, it was their interaction in the elevator. Jezebel wouldn’t say it, instead focusing the blame on herself, but Riker and his words that day on the elevator shattered what confidence she had, and raised her stress levels, especially with her strengthened insecurities regarding her pregnancy with Laurel, through the roof. With that, her stress, which had led to Laurel’s premature birth, was beyond the point she knew how to even try to control. Threatening a girl while she was pregnant certainly was a low that was difficult to beat. It took a long time for Jezebel to fight the constant self doubt that Riker had strengthened. Every insecurity, screaming in her mind that she wasn’t good enough, that she was a faliure, that she never deserved what she did have, especially not a daughter that she loved with every part of her being, the worry that she wouldn’t be anything better than her mother was, and at times.. even the stray thought that her mother had made a mistake in letting Jezebel’s grandparents keep her from having an abortion or at least giving Jezebel up for adoption all those years ago. She was a mistake her mother made and a failure, and her mind screamed that she was nothing more than that. It took a long time to bring that near overwhelming voice back down to just a whisper in the back of her mind. Constantly there, but only a whisper. “I know I’m a screw up Riker, and that I ruin everything around me no matter how much I try not to, but I kept the truth from him because I thought it was the best way to protect him. So he didn’t have to have to feel even a fraction of what I felt. How I still feel. The only thing I could do to keep him from having to know that feeling of dying inside, was to not tell him I had a miscarriage.” Jordan knew, so there wasn’t anything to really keep her from saying that it was a miscarriage and not an abortion. It wouldn’t be anything she wanted as public knowledge by far, but Riker needed to know that his attempt to make Jezebel into the bad guy, to push Jordan away from her, was never the truth he claimed. Riker needed to know that he had been a cause of Jordan being hurt in a way he didn’t have to be. “But the truth had to come out eventually, and that day happened to be today.” With those words, Jezebel didn’t care how Riker responded, and stepped through the door to walk down the hall. She wasn’t going to wait another second for him to say anything more and make her feel even worse about everything than she already had. Her mind was already filled with thoughts of guilt, blame on herself, her worst memories and insecurities. Even letting Riker know that she had been there telling Jordan the truth, and what the truth was, she knew his view on her wouldn’t change. He would only consider her the bad guy, a stain on Jordan’s past that had left a mark on his present. One thing Riker couldn’t have believed, was that Jezebel truly loved Jordan and wanted the best for him, which had meant her trying to protect him from the truth. Now, she knew if there was ever a chance he could smooth things over with Sadie, that the silence of the past 10 years would have to continue. Jezebel would never be able to look Sadie in the eye. How could she? At least a part of Jezebel would always love him, and she could never look at Sadie, knowing she loved her husband and that they kissed that day. Jezebel knew Jordan, and knew he would never be able to live with himself if he didn’t do everything possible to save everything he had with Sadie, and Jezebel didn’t know how to look at him as just a friend. He could never be just a friend in her eyes. If their paths crossed, it wouldn’t be like the 10 years prior because of the story he thought was true, but other than seeing each other in passing, there would likely be nothing more. The truth didn’t change that. If Jordan could fix things with Sadie, he could be happy, and that was all Jezebel could really ask for, even if it included not having him in her life.

Jezebel knew she was a mess, and everything around her always had a way of falling apart because of her, but she tried to do the right thing, the best she could with what she knew and felt at a given moment, but she still made mistakes that seemed to undo everything she tried so hard to do right. Everything that had gone on with Jordan, with Riker, with everything in her mind trying to handle it all, it was too much. There was too much of the past brought back to the present. A chance to just let it all out, a drink to numb her mind, a distraction, anything, it didn’t matter. There just had to be something. Jezebel walked, not with a destination in mind, barely paying attention to where she was headed, at least until she turned a corner right into where someone else was. Looking up, she saw it was Andy. “Oh, hey Andy…”

Dorian DeLoughrey

”I mean, are you ever going to ask me to marry you?”

”You can’t keep asking me that or it wouldn’t be a surprise… You’re so impatient,” answering in the same teasing tone, a cheeky smile appeared on his lips. Now that she knew he wanted to do that, even 10 years ago, it was easier to talk about it, joke about it. And it’s not like they haven’t practically planed the whole thing that morning… but he couldn’t answer that question just like that. When he was younger, Dorian was never the one to dream about this perfect life with a wife and kids. He couldn’t imagine himself having that… You know how some people are so enthusiastic about it? I can’t wait to get married, have kids. I’m going to raise them in a perfect house and they’d have the best parents! Yeah, that was never his priority… Hell, that though hasn’t crossed his mind once. Sure, maybe one day but… It was never what he really wanted. He also never believed in love so what was the point of thinking about that? Imagining a perfect marriage and family? Why would that make him happy? It changed when he officially started dating Jessica and if they never did he’d probably still think that way but they did… and at only 20 he bought an engagement ring. Yes, they were young but… it felt… right. He was never excited about anything the way he was excited about that. And terrified, in a good way of course, so… he was wrong to think he didn’t believe in love. She made him believe in it and it took him a while to realize that for the longest time he was in love, with his best friend. She was the only person he was ever in love with. ”And I thought you said you don’t care what we tell people. So now, besides being impatient, you’re so proud of yourself for being with me that you want to tell everyone? I think baby daddy would work best then. I always wanted to be introduced as that.” He continued in the same teasing way, kissing her softly.

”But five more minutes and then we’ll leave,” mumbling and pulling her back close to him, Dorian buried his face in the crook of her neck, his arms still tightly wrapped around her. ”This just started and I already had a bad time, don’t make me go back yet,” he moved closer to her, half joking and letting out a groan. Of course he’d rather pick staying with her in bed all day over going back but he knew eventually they’d have to do that. He’d have to go back and potentially face Daniel again, listen to him complaining about being left with Andy in that room. When Jessica mentioned telling people about them, Daniel was actually the first person that crossed his mind. A reaction he wasn’t looking forward to and didn’t know what to expect, especially after their little talk… But he didn’t really care about that. He didn’t care about what his friends, family would say… This was all he wanted. ”Do you want to wait… before we tell everyone about the baby?” He carefully asked, sitting up. They were in a way joking about it minutes ago and as much as he didn’t want to bring out negativity and make her more worried, it wasn’t a question he could ignore.

”You can’t keep asking me that or it wouldn’t be a surprise… You’re so impatient,”

“Surprises are overrated - and who the hell said that I’m going to say yes? See - there’s still a surprise factor in you asking me that you haven’t considered,” Jess replied in the same tone as him. Hey - if he was going to tease her, he should expect a little teasing in return. So maybe she was a little impatient - was it bad that after 10 years all she wanted was to be with him forever? It was strange to think that after everything the two of them had been through they were finally at this point in their life. Who would have ever thought that the 13 year old girl asking Dorian to help her get her things out of his house because of a fall out with Elodie would end up here? In a place where she really couldn’t imagine not having his arms around her every morning. Because here’s the thing - what Jess and Dorian had was a relationship that would always be based on a solid foundation of friendship. Perhaps that’s why there was so much love between them - because Jessica Pierce truly could not imagine a day without him by her side. Well technically… in a legal standpoint - for the last 5 or so years they hadn’t been apart. “Aren’t you bloody cheeky?,” Jess questioned with his next remark, her mind going back to the phone call she had a few days earlier that she still hadn’t had a chance to tell him about. “So what? Maybe I do want the world to know you’re mine and all those crazy fans to move along to the next single athlete but fine, baby daddy it is,” Jess mumbled, smiling as he brought her in for a kiss. “… but maybe this would be a good time to tell you… we’re technically…” Jess started, running her hand up and down his chest. “… still married from that time in vegas” She finished, biting her lip as she looked at him.

“Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if we were charged with something like tax evasion since we’ve both been putting ‘single’ on those tax forms and honestly, I can’t believe how many times you likely cheated on your wife now I’m all for open relationships but wow, Dorian, just wow.” Ah yes, 10 years had past and Jess still had not mastered the art of shutting the fck up. Nope - rather, her old rambling ways remained as she told Dorian what was bound to be an interesting wedding vow. Oh god, wedding vows. Jess may be a writer but they both knew she’d probably be fumbling for an hour with those. A soft laugh escaped her lips as he pulled her back against him saying that he didn’t want to go back, however, it was his bad time statement that made her frown. “Was the talk with Dan that bad?” Jess frowned - knowing how the two could get under each other’s skin. Her previous smile disappeared as he mentioned the next sentiment, however, her hand immediately going to her stomach hoping that the little bean was okay. “Yeah… at least until… you know…” Jess got out. She just… was it bad to not want to jinx something as big as this? Perhaps Jess had already started getting her hopes up… talking about the future with Dorian but that… just… worried her. And maybe part of her was just trying to push that down until she had to be faced with it when she went to the doctors with Dorian but for now, all there was left was… well… hope.

The Alternate World Series: Andy McAllister

Link to Playlist: CLICK HERE

:musical_note: Play Best Part – Daniel Caesar :musical_note:

So yes, as I said before – there are an infinite number of realities and truly anything can happen. Though… there are certain things that have a higher possibility than others. Things that simply occur on a more frequent basis because it was, well, you could say “meant to be”… you could the stars aligned correctly for a mere moment…. But with these scenarios, they simply aligned correctly too often to meet probability standards. Sure, there was a possibility that Jessica died…. but ironically, her fate has always been more probable towards surviving. Perhaps someone up there (or down there) likes to pull a few strings – that’s not my place to say, however… but I will say me and the other narrators due have ongoing bets and Jessica Pierce is often on our most “followed” list. But in this series, I have a very particular goal in mind. To discuss the intrigue of Jessica Pierce’s love life. There are, honestly, such an endless number of possibilities for our dear Jessica. Probability-wise, within all the realities, there are three names that overcome all others. Can you guess who they are? Indeed – Malachi Azure, who in himself is an intriguing case. Especially with the sheer number of times that Jessica has simply missed the man due to “timing” (Really this “timing” is just more pulling of strings… what can I say…. We get bored okay). Dorian DeLoughrey, who will forever be Jessica Pierce’s first love – and that truly holds so much weight in many of these outcomes. I mean… just look at her current life. The girl has once again found herself in his arms. And finally, one that not many would expect but had a high number of possibilities: Andy McAllister. (And of course, there’s a few strays too… like the time she married Trevor… or maybe even that incident with her and Zac. But that’s a story for another time).

So, Andy McAllister. How? Why? A person that has been there for our particular Pierce since she was 9 (or as some would say, 2 and ¼ due to her unfortunate birthday date). So, if it was so meant to be, after all, probability was on her side – what happened in this universe? Well, I did tell you – timing is everything. And in this life, one decision after another kept them as friends. But here’s the thing – the level of connection Jessica and Andy McAllister shared has always been more than friends. They know each other. They understand each other. It’s more than friendship, it’s what those to consider “being each other’s person.” Someone who will always have an important part in the others life. And would you be surprised to hear that there was only a small number of realities where Jessica and Andy weren’t at least friends? Because, in the end, here’s the thing: They will forever be drawn to each other. Even in instances where Jess never came to Cerulean High – they somehow found one another. They somehow fell into the same motions that made them friends in the first place. They somehow always became nuggets. But why am I telling you this? After all, I could go on and on about the endless realities. Of the time Jess and Andy ended up together after that shared kiss during one fateful game of spin the bottle. How one change made it so Andy picked up Jessica’s call the night she disappeared so instead of going to Mikel, she went to Andy. How one moment, one thought could change their whole relationship from friendship into…. Well, something more. But as I said before… Telling you won’t do anything. So why don’t I show you? Follow me along as we experience one of my favorite realities with the two ending up together.

So, things occurred as they did in the original timeline. Pain… loss…. It was all experienced in exact same way. The loss of her children – both Malachi’s though… that’s something she’ll never know…. And Dorian’s, the pain that Malachi inflicted, Jess leaving and returning from North Korea to find that her nugget’s wife had died and going to comfort him. But as I said. One moment. One alteration from the timeline can change everything. And this time around, this happened a little after Jess had finished her piece on North Korea – and won her first Pulitzer. So, let’s get into it, why don’t we?

Year 6: Things Change

:musical_note: Play Medicine – James Arthur :musical_note:

Ahh yes. The Pulitzer. Life really was… to say the least, crazy. Interviews every other day, and it felt as if Jess really didn’t have time for anything else. Perhaps that’s why when Jess was in town once again during the original timeline, when Andy invited her to a party, Jess had said no. After all – she was exhausted. But here’s the thing that changed. In the original timeline, Jess had an interview with the morning news, a meeting with her publicist, a flight – a L O N G flight because a kid was crying the whole time and so when she had arrived back in Beryl, she was exhausted.

In this timeline, however – Jessica’s meeting with her publicist was canceled. Allowing the butterfly effect to take place. What happened was because her meeting canceled, Jess decided to take an earlier flight back to Beryl. One earlier flight meaning no crying child. No crying child meant Jess was able to fall asleep on the flight back. And what that meant was that instead of saying no to Andy’s offer of a party the night she arrived, Jess’ answer was a hell yes.

She had of course pre-gamed slightly – arriving at just the perfect amount of tipsy. There was a soft smile on her lips reaching the party as it reminded her of the many parties she had gone to over the years in Beryl. People were dancing, drinking, having fun, and just enjoying themselves – something she honestly missed. Her life at that point seemed so much as if she had been putting up a front of happiness. Really it was a mask to hide her pain with everything she had been through. Part of her was happy that Andy was coming out and working through everything after Ziah had died a year earlier. The man was truly such a wreck after it had happened, and it took time to even get him out of the house and Jess was there every step of the way. Because pain… true pain is something one should never endure alone. It’s ironic how wise a girl can be though fall under her own traps – keeping all her own pain to herself.

In any case, Andy had texted her that he’d be there soon which really left her alone for a bit –which ended with her on the dance floor, her eyes closed as she enjoyed the rhythm of the music. Letting go – forgetting… something she really didn’t get to do too often. Well at least until some handsy assh-le decided to start grinding on her. Which – really? God, why were some guys so in their head about what was okay to do at a party? Turning around – it only took a second for Jess to realize who was in front of her. Kyle gag Whittle. A man she had told multiple times to go screw himself with a razor blade because of how uncomfortable he made Jess. Though it seemed he never got the hint. ”Jessica damn you look hot.”

And there started a 20-minute conversation that Jess tried to get out of. And of course the sentiment of ”So are you seeing anyone right now?” came up only causing Jess to sigh. Honestly, she wasn’t one to lie. But she also knew Kyle’s type. He was the person who respected other men more instead of believing that a girl was just not interested. So, when she caught eye of Andy behind the man, who soon waved at her, Jess had an idea. A stupid idea, but an idea nevertheless. “Actually yes. I am and there he is right now,” Jess stated, pointing at Andy. As the man turned around, distracted, Jess walked towards Andy with a smile – jumping and giving him a bear hug immediately as she brought her lips towards his ears. “Go along with this – I’ll explain later,” Jess whispered, and with that, Jess brought her lips to his own. And for the first time in about a decade, Jess kissed him. And immediately, she knew it was a mistake. Because she shouldn’t have felt anything for the nugget. But instead, there was this feeling in the pit of her stomach as the two kissed. And god knows how long they kissed… Jess just knew that she was the one to break it. When it was broken, however, she found herself immediately turning around to hide her expression though used the guise that she was seeing if Kyle had disappeared – which thankfully he had, likely getting the hint. So, what did Jess do after that? Well… what was Jess best at doing. She ignored what she felt, pushing it down. After all – it was inconsequential. Something that was probably just due to the alcohol in her system. “You are a bloody lifesaver McNugget. Kyle Whittle was flirting with me and I swore if I didn’t do something, he was going to follow me home like a bloody stalker or worse – continue to talk to me,” Jess stated with a soft laugh, trying to ease the tension that had just formed between the two. “Anyways, Nug, come dance with me,” Jess stated immediately – a soft grin on her features as she ignored the look on Andy’s face. A look that showed her that he had felt the exact same thing she had. Though that night… neither of them said anything. And if Jess had anything to say about it – neither ever would.

And that was the start. The beginning. The push that brought Jessica and Andy to realize there was more… that there could be more between the two of them. Because there was always that possibility. It always existed. And now… now it was going to unravel.

Year 7: What a Mess We Created

:musical_note: Play Experience - Ludovio Einaudi :musical_note:

Jess and Andy’s interactions had drastically changed. Neither of them had meant for it to but it wasn’t… normal between them anymore. There was always this unresolved tension between the two of them now… and Jess continued acting like there wasn’t which… well was obviously making Andy frustrated as almost any hangout ended with the two awkwardly departing. After all – it was her go-to. To pretend she didn’t know it was happening. Perhaps that’s why Jess was nervous going to Andy’s concert a few months later. The man hadn’t had a concert in over a year – taking a break from touring after his wife died to pay attention to his daughter. But now he was back and people went absolutely crazy for his tickets. It was sold out within minutes of being released and Jess had to work some magic to get herself a ticket because apparently getting on the venue website 2 minutes late was “too late” to surprise your friend. She hadn’t told him that she was coming and using the “I’m the ex-wife card” only went so far but she somehow (after pulling a few connections with Andy’s manager) found herself in the front row, screaming at the top of her lungs when Andy came out – singing along to his songs, and smiling as he casually, after years of practice, interacted with the audience by asking people in the front row if they wanted selfies on their phone during the concert.

And of course, Jess screamed bloody loudly when he came near her section – something along the lines of “You bloody piece of sh!t if you don’t pick me I’ll stick a damn hammer so far up your ass that….” Well, use your imagination to what she said after that… though to keep it pg 13, I personally won’t be repeating her words. But what she had said caught Andy’s attention as he looked straight at her and after a second a soft smile met his lips realizing it was her.

There was a playful demeanor on Jess’ lips as he neared her, bending down to look right at her – Jess of course jokingly screaming, “OH MY GOD HE’S LOOKING AT ME, NOT YOU,” at a few girls near her who were clearly annoyed by the sentiment. “Hey nug. Can I have a selfie?” Jess asked, handing the man her phone with a laugh which he returned before taking her cell and turning the camera towards the two of them. Jess didn’t waste any time before leaning up on stage and moving to place a kiss on his cheek for the photo, but instead of on his cheek, Andy turned and instead she found her lips on his once again for a mere second before the two separated… leaving her… honestly… confused though she tried to play it off with the gasps in the audience and Andy laughing saying something about “Well that was fun” with a wink to the audience before going into another song.

Perhaps that’s why Jess ended up going backstage waiting in his dressing room… to talk to him… to figure out what the hell they were getting into… or more specifically… how the hell to get out of this weirdness that had settled between them. Which… getting there was honestly an easy feat since she knew his personal security team. But knowing what to say? That wasn’t so easy. She found herself sitting hesitantly on his couch, though there was something about Andy that always made her smile despite anything going on in her life – which is what filled her features when he entered the room. “Hey stranger… that concert was killer,” Jess mumbled softly as he walked in. Though there was something on his face that told her that he wasn’t interested in pleasantries. He… likely like her wanted to talk about what happened. Not just about this but… the last time. Though Andy didn’t say anything else before going deeper into his dressing room after closing the door and within seconds, his lips were back on hers, his body moving on top of her on the couch as his hands moved down her body and a soft moan left Jess’ mouth. “Andy what are we…” Jess started, though there was a look in Andy’s eyes that Jess couldn’t place. ”If you want to stop, just say the words.” Andy whispered with sincerity in his voice. But the odd thing was… she didn’t want to. So…. she didn’t. At that moment, Jess made a choice, and bringing his lips back to hers Jess found her fingers unbuttoning his shirt and the two begin roaming each other’s bodies for the first time, and honestly, Jess didn’t want it to stop. And they didn’t. For a long time, the two were just lost within one another, lost within each other’s bodies. Though later as she laid naked on his chest, catching her breath… suffice to say she was confused. After all… this wasn’t… ever supposed to happen. Andy was her person…. The person she would confide anything in. But this… was unexpected… and part of her heart ached because she knew she was hurting someone else that was important to her… Dorian. Though Dorian and she had made it clear that the two of them would never work it still… hurt to hurt him.

“Andy we should… talk about that,” Jess whispered in a quiet voice.

And talk they did… or more like… argue about how this was never going to work as Andy emphasized that Jess was getting too caught up in her head. And maybe she was… but all she knew was she needed to go. Her instinct was to run. And sitting in his dressing room, Jess sighed looking at the man as she pulled her clothes. “I need to… I need fresh air,” she whispered, though it was strange. There was something in Andy that no one had ever shown her before. Because in an instant, Andy had grabbed her hand, ”No,” he whispered, *”I know you, Jessica. I know if I let you walk out that door, you’re going to run away and I’m not letting you do that because I know now more than ever that I love you. Running away isn’t going to do sh!t.” Andy stated. And he was right. Andy did know her – he did know that if she walked out that day, then things would be different. Here’s the thing… Jess never had that before… never had someone asking her to stay. Rather… it always seemed that no one would ever fight for her. Dorian had let her go without another word and then slept with someone else a few days later…. And Kai… well… he continually made Jessica feel like she was worth less than nothing. So this… this moment was… strange. Her instinct was to run because over the years, that’s what she had been conditioned to do. But instead… now she found Andy’s arms around her and part of her never wanted to let this feeling go. So… she didn’t.

End of Year 7: And We Live in the Mess We Create

:musical_note: Play Halo - Beyonce :musical_note:

Drastic change. That was what that night had caused in Jessica’s life. Because after that night, Jess and Andy were inseparable by every means. Here’s the thing. When you love someone so much… even just as a friend, shifting that view from a friend into… something more… wasn’t as hard as people expected. Especially as Jess and Andy didn’t start off as friends. They always started off as each other’s crushes. It wasn’t simply a physical attraction – it was an immediate emotional one too.

Perhaps Jessica was making a mistake. But why did a mistake feel so damn good. Because she loved him. There were so few times that Jess had felt truly happy in her life, and Andy… he was bringing those feelings up. All the love she had now belonged to him. Well… that was until she found herself looking at a positive pregnancy test. And now… her love would grow towards her children. Jessica didn’t wait a moment. She didn’t have time. Immediately, Jess found herself going into a place she had promised herself she never would. A hospital… because she needed to know. Was there any defining how happy she was when the doctor told her that she was perfectly healthy, and the baby was doing fine? No… after not knowing for the past 6 years if she could even have a baby again, her mind couldn’t control how happy she was.

And her and Andy… they were also great… Jess loved him. Less than a year, that’s how long Jess had been with Andy. Been with him in a capacity that was more than just… friends. Though despite the short length in the two dating… the happiness he brought her was indescribable… comparable to her past loves… the ones she had to leave behind. Though this was something else… how do you tell someone you love you’re pregnant? Especially when this was never planned. Jessica Pierce didn’t know that answer… she didn’t even know how to start to bring it up. Clearly, she never had with Dorian and the ending to that choice would forever haunt her.

What she did know was all of her resolve in telling him dropped in one moment. She could remember the day as clear as if it had just occurred. Jess was playing with Kaya – a simple question of “how are you liking school,” leading to the little girl saying something that was odd. A mention of wanting to go everywhere her mama went. Which later that night led to an argument she would never forget.

Her arms wrapped around Andy as she brought the moment up. “Did you know that Kaya wants to go to all the same schools as Ziah? Including Cerulean High… how are you going to tell her she’s not going to?” Jess asked. There was an innocence in that question. It wasn’t hidden that Jess hated Cerulean High… everything she personally had been through there all the way to being forced to come back through threats by Blue Royalty. And Andy knew this… he knew everything she had been through. Jess had always been honest to him about that… about how Kai used her. It was for this reason that she never expected Andy to reply with ”What do you mean? She is going to go there?”

And there begin an argument for hours. How could he send his daughter to a school that quite literally tormented people? That had manipulation as an extracurricular. Perhaps there was the added stress that she was pregnant and, in her mind, there was a fear that he would want their kids to go there too. “I’m done… just… I need space, Andy.” Jess recalled yelling, grabbing her wallet before walking out his door, leaving all forms of communication behind despite him yelling after her. Jess didn’t care – she simply went into her car and disappeared.

And for the next three weeks – Jess truly did vanish. She needed to think… just be by herself. For three weeks – Jess traveled. She didn’t care where she was going, she just bought a plane ticket for whatever was leaving that night and left. From Mexico to Europe Jess was trying to calm her fear. Her anxiety… though it wasn’t until Jess was in Switzerland at a little coffee shop that she found a tv playing something about Andy. Her eyes faltered to the news segment and for a brief moment… regret filled her. The segment showed a clip of an interview with the man, and Jess found her hand going to her stomach.

”And how are you doing since your wife’s death?”

Jess’ eyes went to the screen as she found Andy frowning slightly at the interviewer’s question.

”I’m not going to say that everything’s okay because honestly… Ziah’s death will always hurt…” Andy started, taking a drink of his water. “But I’m doing better. I have an amazing support system and the best little girl a man could ask for. And… you know it’s hard to find love after you feel like your soul mate left and for a while… I had kind of given up on that… but recently… there’s someone in my life that makes me feel how I felt with Ziah and I… I’m just really happy and in a great place right now,”

Jess had never heard that interview before and she knew it was dated before their argument. Biting her lip… Jess knew she had made a mistake. And immediately… Jess left the shop and went back.

It was raining the day she returned, and she found herself standing outside his door during an hour of the night that only Jessica Pierce would have been awake. Knocking on his door, she stood there completely soaked – hesitantly pressing the doorbell once. And that was it. She found the door opening moments later from a half-asleep McNugget who didn’t even wait a second after seeing her. He pulled her against his body, wrapping his arms around her immediately ”Don’t ever do that again Jess I was… so damn worried,”. And at that moment, Jess whispered “I’m pregnant, Nugget,”

Year 8: She's Pregnant Nugget

:musical_note: Play All those pretty lights – Andrew Belle :musical_note:

”Just Breathe, you’re doing so great”

“YOU DON’T THINK I KNOW HOW TO BREATHE YOU IDIOT? I KNOW HOW TO BREATHE. WHERE THE BLOODY HELL IS MY SLUSHIE I ASKED FOR A DAMN SLUSHIE,” Jess screamed at Andy as another contraction hit her body. The two had been… ironically at a Mcdonald’s when her water broke, and the man had dragged her out of line to take her to the hospital. But you know what that meant? That she never got her food… or her nuggets… or her lemonade slushie she had asked for. Suffice to say Jessica’s hormones were everywhere and she was very upset. “God… when the hell will they give me the epidural,” Jess cried looking over at Andy, but soon posing the question to the doctor as the woman came in who simply gave Jessica a sorry smile as she hit her with the worst news possible. “I’m sorry… it seems like your cervix is fully dilated it’s time to push Jessica,”

“Nope No nono no. I’ve held this baby in me for 9 months, she can wait another 30 minutes so I can get my slushie and epidural,” Jess muttered. Her hand was in Andy’s and she found him turning her head towards him. ”Nug… it’s time to push” he whispered and she frowned at him though nodded, holding his hand and going through the worst pain she had been through in a long time.

Was it worth it though? Yes. It was when she heard her little girl crying – the doctor cleaning the baby off before handing her to Jess. So perhaps Jessica had been through a lot of pain with love. But this… this was it. Pure love… one that would never fade away. Looking at her baby, Jess smiled. “You’re perfect,” Jess stated, kissing the little girl on her forehead – smiling larger as the baby stopped crying and looked at Jess. Jessica turned to Andy whose eyes were on his little girl. “Here,” Jess whispered, letting him take the girl from his hands. “Go introduce Kaya to her little sister,” Jess continued. She fell asleep soon after that – but all she could remember was the sheer happiness she felt passing out in exhaustion after that.

She woke up hours later and found her hospital room filled with food. From wall to wall was a buffet. She didn’t know what Andy had done but he had apparently gotten that slushie she wanted as the left wall had 7 slushy machines with different flavors. She found Andy coming inside a few moments after and shot him a smile. “Hey you’re awake beautiful. So what would you like? We have nuggets over there, I have supplies for a burger, I got an ice cream machine right there – one that is clearly working since the one at McDonald’s is almost always ‘broken’” Andy asked. “God I love you,” Jess laughed, grinning as he walked over to her and kissing her. “How is she?” Jess questioned and Andy grinned. ”As beautiful and strong as her mother… also as tired as her. She’s sleeping in that room with all the other babies and Kaya’s watching over her telling everyone that passes that she’s her little sister,”

Year 9: Can Happiness be Bottled Up?

:musical_note: Play Pieces – Andrew Belle :musical_note:

If pure joy could be quantified – Jess would say she had it. “Mama,” Jess’ eyes were closed, though she felt a smile on her lips as Tia climbed on her body to kiss her. Though instead of “waking up” Jess continued to pretend to be asleep as her little girl tried to wake her up by jumping on her. Though daddy’s little girl soon changed course saying ”dadda” when the man walked into the room.

”Is your mom sleeping in your bed again. How dare she?”

Andy laughed, picking the little girl who had her arms out wanting to be played with. “Well if it isn’t my 1 year old and my 7 year old again,” he continued. Opening her eyes, Jess frowned as she stood up and jumped out of the crib she was sleeping in after comforting her daughter the night before. “I swear, she’s such a little traitor. First her first words are “dada” and not “nugget or mama” which is treason in itself and then this,” Jess poked, kissing Andy on the cheek, and then her little girl on the forehead. In retrospect – Andy wasn’t wrong. Tia Pierce- McAllister was a little look alike of Jess herself. Well… except for her eyes which she got from Andy. “At least Kaya likes me more,” Jess continued with a pout as she wrapped her arms around Andy.

”Well come on then, let me make it up to you – why don’t we take our little girl on her first Disney trip?”

“How come I never got impromptu Disney trips?” [/co.or] Jess poked though there was a smile on her face that said ‘hell yes’ they were going. And they went – thank you private jet. Honestly, randomly picking up their stuff to go on a last minute vacation was the defining trait in Andy and Jess’ relationship. Unpredictability but with security. Honestly something Jess always needed in her life. Looking at Andy play with his two girls on the flight – Jessica Pierce truly did feel happy. There was no describing how much because honestly, with everything in Jessica’s past, she never… thought she’d get here. To this point in her life where everything was just… amazing. Perfection was unattainable but if there was a way to bottle it up – to Jess, it would be this moment. “Hey nugget,” Jess stated from her seat, watching as he looked up at her. “I love you,” she finished.

Perhaps he knew that this whole time. Because what she thought was an impromptu trip to Disney turned out to be… so much more. Jess could remember the laughter that met her lips when he brought her to a “McDonald’s around the world” store in Epcot where they had food from every country. What she hadn’t expected was that when she walked in, no one was inside except for the four of them. Though despite that confusion on why the hell people wouldn’t be lining up outside, Jess hadn’t questioned anything until Kaya came up holding Tia with something in her hand. ”Dad wanted us to give this to you,”

Jess looked at the ring pop in the girl’s hand and smiled. A small laugh left her lips as she picked it up and put it on her finger. “I think it looks pretty cute, don’t you?” Jess asked the girls as Tia looked at her with her arms up mumbling “mama.”

Picking her daughter up, Jess kissed Kaya on the forehead before looking around. “Where is your dad anyways?” Jess asked, looking around as she walked towards another room in the shop. Though when she went inside, the whole room was, legitimately, filled with ring pops with Andy in the middle. “Andy What…” Jess started not even sure what to say as she looked at the man.

“Jess… I’ve known you since I was 12 when this curious little girl sat down for a game of spin the bottle and somehow, I don’t know but someone made it so that when she spined, it landed on me. I didn’t think of that moment as one of the luckiest days of my life because after that day, we became more than just friends. Jessica Pierce, you became my person. No matter what we’ve been through… distance….fights… you’ve never stopped being that for me.”

Jess watched as he walked closer to her, smiling at his little girl who was still in Jessica’s hands. “We got married once before and… god I can’t remember what I said that day but I know how important you are to me and have continued to be through everything. I can’t imagine going through the rest of my life without you so, Jessica Pierce…” Andy started before getting on his knees as he pulled out, this time, not a ring pop but an actual ring, “… will you marry me?”

And for the first time in a long time, Jessica was stuck for words as she looked at the man she loved on his knees. “I…” Jess started. “Kaya… do you mind taking Tia to the other room and getting whatever you want?” Jess asked handing the little girl back to her sister. Once the two were gone, Jess, like Andy, got to her knees and pulled him in for a kiss as she leaned her head against his. “No…” Jess whispered and she saw the immediate sadness that met Andy’s features. “Wait… Andly look. In the 27 years that I’ve been alive I’ve… fallen in and out of love so many damn times and I’ve realized… so many things,” she whispered, tears meeting her features. “I’ve gotten married… divorced… more than once… and I’ve realized… marriage is nothing but a piece of paper. I don’t want to be with you because it’s written on a piece of paper. I want to be with you because I want to be with you,” Jess continued, wrapping her arms around the man. “I want to be with you because I love you and no paper is going to change that. You, Andy McAllister, are my everything. I don’t need anything else.” She finished kissing him again. “So will I marry you? No. But will I be with you for the rest of my life? Yes.”

Year 10: Wrapping Up

:musical_note: Play Anchor – Novo Amor :musical_note:

And that was it. The end… or shall I say the start of Andy and Jessica’s story. Because with endings, there are always beginnings. And if you don’t believe me… say hi to their second child, Jamie, born a few years later. Because here’s the thing – throughout all the sadness Jessica Pierce had; there was happiness always hidden below the surface. Jess had that, whether Andy was her friend or something more. And that being said, that concludes my sentiments of this alternate universe.

It wasn’t usual for Andy to actually listen and be like well damn, Daniel is speaking and he’s making a hell lot of sense, but that day, he said many things and deep inside him Andy knew he wasn’t necessarily wrong. He needed to pull his sh!t together and move on with his life. He sure was screwed, but did it have to stay that way? Though if only it was that easy…

Overthinking hit pretty hard, but his thoughts were cut as the door opened, both of them anxiously wishing it didn’t close. Delilah hawthorn, well that was a face he hadn’t seen in years ”Not today love. I’m out of here” he said, lightly saluting as he came to leave, making his way out the room leaving the two to talk as it did seem like there was some talking needed there.

Fresh air, who would have believed that was still a thing? Aren’t engine rooms the whole universe? Well damn that’s hella shocking. But back to the point, as Andy left the room, he made his way out wanting to find a quiet place or a bar to clear his mind, because clearly there was a damn lot on his mind, taking his focus away from seeing the person coming from the corner bumping into him.

“Oh, hey Andy…”
Jezebel Sloane in the flesh. Or Jezebel Parker was it? Frankly he wasn’t really sure, as much as she seemed like a very interesting person, he and Jezebel were never really close. Jezebel…” he replied with a slight sense of surprise in his tone. ”Sorry… I wasn’t really looking” he admitted, glancing at the girl in front of him. It wasn’t a secret or anything that Andy had always thought of her as a beautiful girl, in the most innocent way possible. And honestly the years only did her good, because she do be looking fineee. But… at the same time, she also looked like not everything was fine. Men weren’t usually so good at noticing these kinds of things, but Andy had always been an emotional person, not to mention he’s always around girls too so yes. ”Are you okay? You look like you could use a drink” he asked in a soft tone, looking at the girl as he spoke.

Andy McAllister, a man that Jezebel had been on friendly terms with for years, but never exceptionally close to. They knew each other at one time because of a friendship he once had with Daniel, they even knew each other through the man’s close relationship with Jess, as well as through Ziah, and Kaya who was a friend of Laurel. Neither one was a stranger to the other, but the two had never really been around each other, not because of someone else. “Its fine, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going either.” Jezebel spoke, trying to not sound like she was a complete mess, but even she knew that it wasn’t difficult to tell that it had been a rough day. Jezebel let out a slightly deeper exhale with a nod. “Its… been a day.” she simply said to convey that it had been a lot, and technically not answering whether or not she was alright. “So a drink would be pretty great right about now”

There were a lot of things on the man’s mind, watching where he was going apparently just wasn’t one of them. But was he complaining? Not at all.
”At least it’s you and not anyone I know for sure I don’t like” he said with a slight mood lightning tone to his voice. Usually when he said something like that, his mind automatically went to Daniel who was ironically the girl’s brother, but for once it actually didn’t, who would have thought?

”Its… been a day. So a drink would be pretty great right about now”
”Can’t say I don’t relate” he said letting out a small huff of air from his nose. It was funny how a highschool reunion could cause such a mess, especially since most of them were still in each other’s lives anyway. Even people he wasn’t close with, such as Jezebel, but nonetheless she was still a part of his life, mostly thanks to Laurel, but not necessarily only that. ”Mind if I keep you company?” he asked, though originally he was going for the sitting on his own route, but a little company doesn’t hurt does it?

“You won’t say yes?” There was a light pout on his lips as he said those words. As much as he was trying to keep up with the teasing and make it look like a joke, that was something he was still worried about, deep down. And will probably always be worried about… not her saying yes to marrying him, but to just being with him. He knew he wasn’t that great, he had his moments and to pick him, over everyone else… over Andy, even Dylan… didn’t make sense to him. But he wasn’t complaining, far from it. What they had, what started as a strong friendship was the most important thing to him. More than his family… See, he would always put her above everyone else. Sure, there were times when someone would make him feel actually good and wanted, but not like this. Never like this… when he was trying to make that person feel the same way. “We are still married? Really? So that means… I technically don’t have to ask you to marry me and we don’t have to talk about our food festival again? That makes my life a lot easier,” Dorian joked after letting her talk and trying to understand what she was saying. At first he thought she wasn’t serious, hence why that was the first thing he said. How… could they still be married? “I cheated on you? What about you then? What about my hurt feelings?” Continuing in the same teasing way, it wasn’t long before his goofy smile faltered and he got quiet, thinking about it. “You know I’d never do that to you…But… what do you mean? We… signed those papers. Did we not?.. Did you trick me into signing something completely different to really make sure all my crazy fans moved to the next single athlete? Who’s the cheeky one now, huh? I’m… I’m really flattered though. What a devoted wife.” It was strange to think they were married for 5 years without knowing about it, or thinking they took care of it right after getting married. If he was someone who believed in fate and signs he’d take this situation as that but if they weren’t together he wouldn’t think it was funny.

“Was the talk with Dan that bad?”
“Mhm… He said he would never pick me over Valerie,” frowning, he looked up at her. “You can imagine how that ruined my whole day.” Just like the first time he brought up his conversation with Daniel, he didn’t want to worry her, joking about it being a way to do that. Plus even if he wanted to tell her more about it there wasn’t much he could, besides the obvious he completely blocked out the rest of their conversation, remembering only the most important and disturbing fact. So without saying anything else, he smiled at her and nodded when she said she wanted to wait to tell everyone about the baby. As he expected. “I know, love. Don’t worry.” Placing a soft kiss on her forehead, he got up, picking up his clothes. “I don’t really want this but let’s go now. Get you some food… Something nice they serve here and not whatever you got from a store. Sorry but now you’ll have to deal with fancy food,” bending down for yet another kiss, there was a smile on his face that will be hard to take off, somewhere in between mumbling I love you. So if it meant he’d have to use his precious favors to get her to eat better he’d be more than happy to do it because every other important thing or thing he wanted, he already had.

Jezebel nodded slightly in agreement with Andy’s comment of it being better to run into her than someone he didn’t get along with. There were likely plenty of people either one of them could have run into that would have been much less pleasant to interact with, even if in Jezebel’s case she had just left the person on that boat she had the most unpleasant relationship with. It seemed in some ways, a high school reunion brought everyone back to who they were so many years earlier, at least with all the memories brought back to the surface. When Andy asked if she minded if he kept her company, she gave a small smile. It may not have been the strongest smile, but it was a slight smile nonetheless. “I wouldn’t mind. I’d like the company.” Whether Jezebel would say it or not, she’d rather not be alone with her thoughts, and she wouldn’t complain about Andy’s company.

“Mm… maybe I’ll consider saying yes if you keep up your promise to buy me nuggets after this dammed cruise - you know, the one’s you made me leave behind so I could make it on time?,” Jess bantered, kissing his cheek lovingly. It was crazy to think that one day very soon… it wouldn’t just be the two of them. Assuming everything would be okay which honestly… that assumption was the only thing keeping Jess going. The hope that their baby would be okay along with him being there for her. But if it was all okay… Jess was excited… happy to have a baby which is honestly something she always wanted. Family meant… everything to Jess and she knew once this baby was born, he or she would also mean everything to her. And Dorian? Well - he was her family since they became friends years ago. Married or not, he would forever be her family and truly, nothing could change that.

“Hey hey hey excuse you. I still want a food festival,” Jess sighed, though it soon turned into laughter at his sentiment about unknowingly ‘cheating’ on each other. “I mean… we signed the papers but we forgot to get a witness signature on past 21 out of 40-something pages. I think we were both in such a hurry that neither of us really looked past the ‘sign here’ portion when we probably should have… but you’re right, I am an extremely devoted wife,” She snuggled against him with a smile on her lips. Honestly, she didn’t… mind it. Mind having been married without knowing it because it was with him. In retrospect, it wasn’t the first time she had gotten married for the long term without actually meaning it but this time… it did mean something.

Rolling her eyes at his sentiment about Daniel she threw a pillow at him. “What a bloody idiot,” Jess stated, sticking her tongue out at him as he soon stood up saying how he was going to feed her real food. How sad. All Jess really wanted was processed junk to put in her body. “But Dorian I got chips and queso,” she frowned as he kissed her. “I’m only agreeing because I’m starving,” she muttered getting up after him as she pulled her own clothes on. When she finished Jess walked over towards the door taking his hand in hers and putting her arms around his neck as she looked into his eyes. “I know we had this talk 12 or so years ago with the having sex three times a day thing but what do you think about changing your name to Dorian Pierce?,” Jess joked, and with that she simply winked at him and ran out the door. “BET YOU I CAN GET THERE BEFORE YOU,” she screamed back, laughing. After all - their relationship had always been defined by the two having fun together. And would that ever change? Well… only time would tell.

Time - I can tell you, never changed their relationship. If anything - it grew as their family grew. And yes - their family did grow. As it turns out, Jess’ baby was okay and that meant that within a few months, Jess had given birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl. But if you think that’s the end of their story - think again. Life doesn’t end at “happily ever after” - it continues. And for Dorian and Jess, it forever did. From navigating being parents to one little girl… and later to another girl and then a boy. I often say happiness cannot be quantified, but there are certain moments that encompass it. And for Jess, most moments with Dorian in her life as her fiancé… and then her husband were like that. Because no matter what, they forever knew that they had each other to get through it.

The slightest hint of hesitation from Jordan gave her the answer immediately, making her draw away even further from him. The answer she had never wanted to hear, one that would set her back ten years, back to the insecure teen she was pre-Jordan. Jordan loved Sadie. But not just her, and she would never be able to change that. And if she wanted to stay with him she would just have to accept it. Of course, this didn’t change Sadie’s feelings for him. Maybe nothing ever will. But would she let her love, the family and life they had made together, be outweighed by the continuous worry that something like this could potentially happen again?

Looking in his eyes finally made her see, and painfully believe, the remorse and extreme self-awareness Jordan’s features exuded. Anything she would have said to him, he would probably be expecting. The fact that she was hurt, that he was an idiot, that it would take a long time to recover from this: she could see he already knew. Sadie didn’t have to say anything. Which worked for her, because honestly, Sadie didn’t know what to say. There was no immediate solution or answer to this.

Logically, Sadie would end their relationship right there and then. If Jordan was willing to throw away their marriage, then so was she. But her response actually came in the form of her taking his hand. No, it wasn’t forgiveness, and certainly not forgetting. Call her stupid, but Sadie took it because she wasn’t ready to let it go. To let him, and her life with him, go. Though she would usually consider herself an optimist, this situation Sadie felt was an exception. She knew there was only a small chance of redemption, but Sadie was willing to take it. Though it was still clear that it would take a while to even begin the process of fixing this, she was giving him a sign that this wasn’t completely over.

Despite leaving the reunion party together, they still had an undeniable distance between them. Being at home, reuniting with the kids, coming back in general emphasised the difference in their dynamic, in the home they used to be comfortable in. As days and weeks passed, they continued to be in the awkward limbo of unknowingness. In fact, during the times their kids would be at school, Sadie would stay out of the house and away from him, disrupting any progress they had possibly made.

That was until the day the social worker turned up at their door to continue their adoption process, something that a divorce would completely ruin. Mariana Lennox was someone they had met a few years ago now, and in that time she had basically become family. Sadie couldn’t let the unresolved problems between her and Jordan stop that from becoming official. So with no disruptions, Sadie and Jordan were ruled as suitable to adopt.

While staying together was worth it to make Annie a permanent member of the family, that was something that only temporarily fixed Jordan and Sadie’s relationship. Though Sadie had hope for them being able to work out, it was cancelled out by the overwhelming insecurities that she didn’t think she would be able to ever get over, and that was something Jordan could see too. So, inevitably, the divorce was finalised. Doing that was almost as difficult and painful as the day Sadie saw him kissing her, but it was the best thing to do at the time. Maybe in the future she will realise the mistake she made and take everything back. Because, despite all of this, Sadie still loved him. The same way she did when he proposed. When they got married. When they met each other. But the idea- and probable truth- that it wasn’t reciprocated was something Sadie couldn’t see past.

However, the good thing about breakups is that they come with record-breaking songs, her music career accelerating, despite the minor worry that media would side with the more-followed celebrity. For her kids, Sadie put all of her effort into. She strived to be the best parent she could be, maybe to make up for the guilt of breaking it up. It took a while to get used to the new normal, but honestly, it was okay. In fact, after years of living reliant on other people, Sadie learned to live independently and for herself. Sadie looked for the positives, as she proceeded to do so with everything, because, despite everything, that’s who she was.
