Reina Katherine Monroe

Reina hadn’t realized it was Valentine’s Day until she was nearly at school that morning, despite being dressed for the occasion. She didn’t know what to expect from the Oh My Dollar Valentine results, but she was pleasantly surprised by her top match, Safiya Essa. One of the people she probably knew best out of the senior class. Someone she liked. She didn’t know what being matched for that would mean with anything, but she knew she’d have to talk to her at some point. Reina was scared when it came to relationships, and even getting close to people, but there was no harm in talking to Safiya about being matched, right? Reina walked to her locker, thinking about what to say and do. All of this wasn’t long before prom too, which that in itself was something Reina had on her mind. Reina had no idea what to do about prom. Did she even want to go. If Sadie went, Reina would go too, but that was as much as she knew. Would she have a date, but who would even want to take her, and what would she wear? Odds were, Reina’s mother had something envisioned for Reina already.

It was nice to hear that she was getting along with her number one match, but the fact that it was Daniel made him hesitate. “I mean that’s cool but…” He remembered telling her about the text he sent everyone, and her almost having a panic attack. He wondered if she still remembered that. “Well just make sure to stay on his good side. Speaking of that, I was wondering if you were fine after you ran away screaming from me.” He said while laughing.

“Oh, that text? I’ll just have to try to not get on his bad side.” She said, knowing that she’d have a problem with that. She’d have to be careful, but it wouldn’t hurt to try. “Oh yeah…that. Um…I was just anxious about my first day and I guess I kinda lost it…oops.” She chuckled awkwardly. “I should probably meet him, though. I just hope he doesn’t hate me…” Ruby muttered.

“A whole garden? Yeah, I could do that, no problem,” Pretending to be lost in his thoughts, thinking about what she said, he slowly spoke up, keeping his gaze on her with furrowed brows. “Just tell me which flowers you prefer?” He tried to keep a straight face and continue this little joke but the corner of his lips quickly turned up, revealing an innocent smirk. It was always easy talking to her, there was never pretending, at least not from his side and sometimes it can be hard to find something like that.

“Looks like I am but it’s whatever, right?” Rolling his eyes and saying his words the same way she did, he chuckled, placing his hand on the part of his body she shoved. This was probably the last time he would do something like that and randomly buy gifts, unless he really needs something because it seemed like it was working.

Tilting his head down and lowering his gaze to her hand that was slowly moving from his waist up to his shoulder, he smiled softly. “Oh, you did?” Slowly looking up to meet her eyes, he playfully raised his brow, opening his mouth to say something else but he heard his phone ringing, the same time Aline’s did. Seeing her reaching for her phone he did the same, taking a second to read the message and reply. And it was from the one and only, Tala. It was strange to see her on his list, especially in second place. He never really thought about her like that to see how they could be compatible, but apparently they were and thinking about it, he could see why.

To: Talzy

This is crazy :joy:

Placing his phone back in his pocket, he adjusted his bag and looked back at Aline with the same look from before. “So, where were we?” Chuckling, he took a step closer to her and now placed his hand on her hip. “I have to do something now,” playing with the fabric of her shirt, he kept his gaze down on his own hand, thinking of what was still waiting for him. Even if he just texted Tala he had to find her and give her the sunflowers he bought for her this morning. Same goes for Sadie and Mady, the new girls he wanted to surprise and leave a good impression. “I hope to see you soon, it’s been a while.” Looking up at her, he softly smiled, moving his hand back to his pocket. “Maybe we can do something today if you’re free?” Shrugging his shoulders, he simply asked. It wasn’t an invite for a date, she should know that so he didn’t point it out, it was just two friends hanging out together.

Zion woke up to the sound of their alarm, a smile on their face as they saw the date. They got dressed, putting their hair up into two space buns. They went downstairs to find that their mom had made special pink conchas for breakfast, something that had become a tradition over the years. Despite his protests, they hugged their brother as tight as they could when he came downstairs. After letting go, they took their keys off the wall and got in their car.

They walked into the school and went to their locker, excited to find out who their perfect match was. They opened the door and pulled their history textbook out of their locker. At this point, they were just trying to hold off looking at their phone even though the anticipation was killing them. They slowly pulled their phone out of their pocket, unlocking it to read their text from the cheerleaders.

Zion read the name in the message, knowing that they’d heard it before, but they were having a hard time putting the name to a face. Suddenly, they heard someone gasp beside them. They turned to face her as she tells them that her name is the one on their phone. “You’re Tala?” They asked her, wanting to make sure they understood her.

“I can say the same about you and you still looked away as if I could ever not like you. It’s basically impossible not to,” Gio said. A smile twitched at Lui’s lips, as he gave a slight shake of his head. “G, you just came out to me. I guess I thought you were keeping it from me because you knew and didn’t want me to throw myself at you.” He let out a laugh, his eyes shining with mirth. “I threw myself at you anyway though so.”

Being here, alone in this room with Gio was the best moment Luciano could’ve asked for on Valentine’s. He hadn’t ever put much stock in the holiday, but even he couldn’t deny that it was this day that ended up leading to the here and now. He wasn’t sure if he had ever been happier than he was then, as there was no other person that made him feel as at home as Gio did.

“Maybe.” Gio slowly trailed his hand down from Luciano’s cheek to his chest, Lui following the movement with his eyes. The gentle but deliberate touch sent goosebumps up his arm, despite the cloth of his shirt separating Gio’s fingers and the bare skin of his chest. He could feel his heart thudding against his chest, and with Gio’s hand resting there, he was pretty sure he could feel it as well. “But not remotely as much as you are.” Gio continued. “It’s just a fact. You’re just perfect in your own special way.” His lips parted slightly, a smile turning up the corners of his mouth. “Gio,” he said softly, his voice deepening. “You’re the perfect one. Your smile is—in Spanish, I’d say, una sonrisa tuya me hace inmensamente feliz.” He raised a hand to Gio’s cheek, stroking it with a finger. “It means your smile, every single smile makes me immensely happy because of how perfect it is.”

“That’s going to be like walking on a tightrope in a circus.” He shook his head. He couldn’t imagine trying to become friends with Daniel. Since his ego was already so fragile, Daniel could easily break it. “I’m just going to wish you good luck. Anyways, at least you’re used to this school now. Lost it is kind of an…understatement.” He said while chuckling. “How do you feel about the upcoming prom?” He asked.

G, you just came out to me. I guess I thought you were keeping it from me because you knew and didn’t want me to throw myself at you.
“Okay maybe you do have a point” he chuckled lightly and smiled at the boy “I’m not really thinking straight right now” he added “by all means” he smiled and huffed put a laugh
I threw myself at you anyway though so.
“And I couldn’t be happier” he said in a genuine reply with a soft loving smile on his lips

Gio, You’re the perfect one. Your smile is—in Spanish, I’d say, una sonrisa tuya me hace inmensamente feliz.
He smiled lightly but raised a confused brow at the boy’s words, there were many similarities between Spanish and Italian but he still couldn’t understand the sentence as a whole.

Gio always loved it when he started saying things in Spanish or Portuguese in the middle of a sentence, it was adorable and honestly kind of hot
All those small quirks and things that he does, just fall in piece together and make that same boy he fell in love with all this time ago, that same boy standing right in front of him,

It means your smile, every single smile makes me immensely happy because of how perfect it is.
His smile grew wider with genuine happiness and emotions at the sound of those words coming from Luciano’s mouth.

Gio’s hand was still resting against his Luciano’s chest, and the feeling of the beating heart against his hand made Gio smile.
He gently moved his hand to where Lui’s heart was supposed to be, his eyes following the movement.
“Your heart” he said quietly as he raised his gaze back to the boy’s eyes with a playful smile on his lips. It was beating very strongly, so did Gio’s, he couldn’t remember a moment where his heart pounded so intensely.
It was special, he was special.

“I’ll take that as a compliment?” “Take it however you want.” He said back to her with a shrug. He really meant his comment as saying because of how bright it was and a little fancier than something someone would usually wear to school but this isn’t any normal school by any means. Most everyone here had money and one way to show off how much money you have is by wearing it. Mikel sure as hell didn’t though. His clothes were mostly thrifted and worn because once he likes something he doesn’t get rid of it. “I am sure today of all days, there will be things that happen. I am sure all the freshman boys will be sending you a million roses.” He joked but he knew it probably wasn’t an exact lie. The girl’s in his grade definitely caught the attention of the younger classman. “I guess you’re happy about your list then too?" He nodded with a grin and gripped his phone in his hand. “Yeah, are you?” He asked back and sort of wondered who was on his. "What did you have in mind, if you don’t mind me asking?” “Just plans with a beautiful girl, well I am not 100% sure what we are doin but it will be good. That’s really as much as i can tell you since I dont know much more either.”

“A rose garden with different coloured roses would be very nice,” she replied, tapping the side of her chin with her finger as if she was thinking deeply about it. “Maybe add some light pink dahlias for extra points.” The smirk on his face that he couldn’t hold back triggered her laughter at the amusing topic. She’d nearly forgotten how easy it was to talk with Dorian; there was an easy flow to their conversation that she didn’t get with a lot of her other friends. “With all those flowers, almost every girl would be good.”

Aline crossed her arms over her chest, rolling her eyes as he mimicked her. “Oh, wow, what a comedian,” she said mockingly, yet with a playful tone. She watched him put his hand on the part of the body where she had shoved him, and she gave him an unimpressed look. “Pff that did not hurt at all sir, your chest shoulder area place” she gestured vaguely at the surrounding area of Dorian’s collarbone “is completely fine.”

She had, in fact, missed him while she was on her trip, but she wasn’t about to admit to it for a second time. Luckily for her, they had both been interrupted by their phones, and by the time they both put their phones away, it looked like Dorian had mostly forgotten his earlier question. Now, he placed his hand on the curve of her hip and she looked up at him with a small smile. “Aw, okay.” She moved a hand from the stems of the roses to his chest, pressing her hand flat against his muscled pec. “It has been a while,” she murmured. “Mm, sure, that would be fun. I’ll see you.”

With that, she pushed off his chest and turned away, moving back through the halls away from him with her roses. She looked back briefly at him, giving him a bright smile before disappearing into the sea of people.

“That’s going to be like walking on a tightrope.” Brandon said. “Good thing I have great balance!” Ruby quipped. He then said that at least she’d know her way around after the panic attack. He then asked if she was excited for prom. That dampened her spirits a bit. “No, not really. I highly doubt any of my matches will want to go with me. I already know two of them, but once the others meet me, they’ll wish I didn’t get them…” Ruby said, angry at herself for scaring people.

“Okay maybe you do have a point. I’m not really thinking straight right now, by all means." Luciano grinned, his lips curving into a smirk. “Am I messing up your thoughts?” He asked, teasingly leaning closer to Gio. “And I couldn’t be happier,” Gio said. Luciano glanced at him, a smile stretching across his face.

He knew Gio wouldn’t understand the Spanish words, but it was easier for him to express himself in Spanish initially and then translate. In a lot of cases, he preferred speaking in Spanish rather than English but he tried to speak just English with his English-speaking friends because he felt as if not speaking it alienated him. Gio had never made him feel like the difference was a bad thing and he had always felt comfortable messing up with English or even speaking in Spanish with him. He felt like he could be 4 ft hog and Gio wouldn’t care if he was still him.

And he didn’t regret sharing the Spanish phrase as he watched Gio’s happy smile grow wider at the English translation. “There it is,” he murmured, looking at Gio with adoration. “There’s that beautiful smile.” He liked knowing that he could make Giovanni smile like that, it filled him with a sense of pride. It was as if he could make Gio smile then everything would be alright.

Gio adjusted his hand so that it was resting on the left side of Lui’s chest, where his heart was located. He felt it thudding against his chest and Gio’s hand; he knew that Gio could feel every thud it made. “Your heart,” Gio quietly said. “It’s you,” he whispered back. “It’s always you.”

Brandon started wondering why she felt like no one would go to prom with her. Did she not have confidence, or was it something she was hiding? At this school, it was hard to tell. “You should have more confidence in yourself. I don’t see why they would say no. You haven’t done anything horrible to them and you seem like a nice person.” He shrugged his shoulders.“If all else fails ask Daniel…” He said jokingly while nudging her arm. He suddenly remembered he got distracted from doing his homework last night. "sigh I have to go to the library to finish my homework " He walked backwards in front of her while adjusting his backpack. “Try not to punch anyone okay?” He said while walking away.

Am I messing up your thoughts?
He chuckled lightly “You always do” he said with a smirk, and felt like he was blushing a bit, but he couldn’t actually see his own cheeks to tell. “You have that effect on me” he smiled lightly

There it, There’s that beautiful smile.
The smile on his lips was wide and honest, he was truly the happiest he’s been in a very long while, right at that moment.
“I’m just happy” he admitted with a smile “I’m really really happy”
Nobody else could make Gio smile this way, nobody could make him this happy. Gio has fallen for him, fallen hard , harder than he ever did.

It’s you, he whispered, as Gio’s hand rested on his pounding heart It’s always you.
His words sent waves of warmth and electricity through Gio’s veins, the intensity of his emotions reflected so much he could feel it in his entire body, as if we was high on some drug. as if it was a dream, a beautiful dream he never wanted to wake up from.

Looking up, since he was shorter, his eyes were fixed on the boy’s eyes, he didn’t want to break his gaze ever, he just felt whole looking into his eyes, drowning in his deep, shimmering, beautiful brown eyes.
He felt complete, as if there was nobody else in the world but the two of them and all his problems as if vanished.
Nothing else mattered, but the brown eyed boy in front of him, standing so close to him, he just felt safe.

He didn’t know what to say, dazed and speechless, he felt like no words in the world would be enough to explain what he felt at that moment.
Lightly raising his head to reach, his hand still resting on his chest, Gio made a move and gently pressed his lips against Lui’s.
Nothing else mattered, he was where he wanted to be.
And for once, reality was even better than his dreams.

She waited and wished she would’ve worn something else today since it was a bit chilly out still as she was standing outside by the football field fence. She was actually really excited but nervous that her parents would somehow find out. She smiled as she saw him pull up and apologize for being late but really he didn’t take very long at all. “I think you promised me some coffee?” She said with and a smirk and a raise of her brow as she got into his vehicle.

She wasn’t sure if he was joking or not, but she decided to at least try. He’d reject her anyway, but whatever. Brandon said he had homework to do, so she was left alone in the hall, which was fine with her.

“You always do. You have that effect on me.” He could see the faint blush colouring his pale cheeks, which made his smile turn smug. He liked knowing that he was such a distraction to Gio, because Gio was just as distracting to him. “I want to be your best distraction,” he said, the smirk adding a mischievous glint to his expression.

“I’m just happy. I’m really really happy.” Luciano couldn’t do anything but nod—he felt the exact same way as Gio did. He was so happy he was practically bursting at the seams. Lui couldn’t remember ever feeling this way for someone, ever, and all his thoughts were just Gio Gio Gio, as if there were nothing else but the two of them there.

There was a brief moment of silence between them, one thick with the deep emotions both of them felt for each other. If you had told him that this was the way that Valentine’s was going to go for him, he would’ve laughed in your face; he never would’ve predicted this outcome. It was better than anything he could’ve ever imagined, and he kept wanting to pinch himself just to make sure that this was real.

Gio looked up at him and their eyes locked on each other’s, the intensity of the gaze drowning out all the background noise and movement from outside of the classroom they were in. Staring into his eyes, Lui knew that this was where he was meant to be.

And then, finally, Gio pressed his lips to Luciano’s. And the kiss—this kiss that he had fantasized about several times over—was better than anything he ever could’ve imagined it to be. His lips, soft yet firm, did better work kissing than they did smiling—though Luciano still loved both. He moved his hand to hold onto Gio’s cheek, before he trailed his fingers down to rest in the crook of Gio’s neck and shoulders.

He has had his share of good kisses, but Gio was the winner by far with this kiss being one to put in the books.

I want to be your best distraction
He chuckled lightly at his response “I like the sound of that” he smirked

Even though he was the one to make the move, Gio was completely unprepared. Even with all the times he had imagined this moment, all the times he fought the urge to kiss his lips before, even with all those, nothing actually prepared him for that real moment, and he hadn’t imagined how warm they would feel pressed up against his own. They were soft, yet firm. Warm, sweet and addictive.

Perfect.

With every little touch his brain as if lit on fire and the warmth spread throughout his whole body.
He never knew a simple kiss could have such an effect on him, driving every bit of him crazy.
but god knows he waited for that moment a long time.

It’s not like it was his first kiss, he had some good kisses before. But none of them could ever match this one, it was special, it was real, passionate yet soft, and filled with genuine emotion. Nothing could ever match that.

As guarded as he usually was, this time he let himself lose guard and sink into the moment.
Ignoring the fact that someone could spot them through the door, that would usually terrify him, he didn’t care for the consequences of something like that if it happened, he just wanted to stay in that moment forever, that one moment where he finally felt like everything was okay, that all the problem disappeared and there was nothing in the world but them.

Safiya was beaming about Valentine’s day. Everything red, pink, black, or white hanging in her closet flared when she glanced at it. Her eyes glimmering optimistically, her under-eyes stained with mascara from crying about how she can’t do basic math at her desk. Ah, yes. She turned her head back to the pile of worksheets she had to do for school still perfectly stacked beside her elbow. In her head, she screamed.

This morning, safi got up at four AM to do her famous straighten and re-curl hairstyle. It was loose and bouncy, parted at just the right drastic distance from her line of symmetry. The girl stood in front of her mirror and admired her outfit. She wore dramatic eyeliner and a red sweater, settling on a simple pair of denim overalls which had the nicest pockets to keep her hands in all day, and booties. It wasn’t shmancy but very very manageable. She could feel the jean material graze her calves as she walked out.

As she walked through the school doors, she ran her hands down her jeans. Hopefully her matches would like her outfit. Ooh, her matches. Safi smiled to herself. She tried not to worry about it too much.

She received notification from the soccer field right as she walked in and pulled her phone out of her bag like it was a plasma tv on black friday. Her eyes bulged out of her head when she saw it. “1. Reina Katherine Monroe” Safiya snuck a little smirk to herself, of course this would happen. We’ve got to go annoy her! She smiled cheekily and poorly attempted to discreetly make her way across the hall. The girl was standing by her locker, her hair preppy and put together as always, by god she was beautiful…and unsuspecting. Saf positioned herself behind the little door thing and heard it shut before half-shouting “Hey matchy matchy!” damn it she thought, she was trying to be friendly. “Hi matchy matchy” Fiyah corrected herself with a low whisper.

Reina Katherine Monroe

Reina took her backpack and put it in her locker, not paying attention to the hall around her. She was in her own little world, so as she closed her locker she was surprised to find Safiya right there. She let out a small squeak, before a sheepish smile appeared. “Oh! I… I didn’t even see you there Safiya. You scared me a little…” Reina paused to catch her breath after being surprised. Reina was already wanting to talk to her anyway, so despite the sudden interruption of her thoughts, Reina was glad to see her. “Hey, I’m guessing I was your match too.” Reina smiled at Safiya, though still feeling extremely awkward from getting spooked. Reina really was glad to be matched with someone she knew. If it was someone she didn’t know… that would make things difficult and she would be even more out of her element than she was by her match being Safiya. “Hope there wasn’t someone else you were hoping for.” There were plenty of people who would probably be a better match to have than Reina. She had her own stuff going on, and dating wasn’t really something she wanted any time soon after what happened at her old school.
