“Oh, okay.” She whispered to herself, keeping a warm smile on, even if that was the last thing she wanted to do in that moment. He wasn’t necessarily being critical of the way she tried to present herself today, but she was sensitive and took it that way. Always getting attention and nothing but compliments, she didn’t quite know how to react to anything but that. Blame it on her father for always making sure she looked her best whenever going somewhere. It almost became a habit, or a thing she must do.
Not wanting to discuss it any further when it was also unnecessary, she shook those negative thoughts away and chuckled at his assumption. He wasn’t completely wrong, being on the list for the second time she was getting more and more attention, she could feel more eyes on her whenever passing down the hallway so she wouldn’t be surprised if they took this day to do something for her. It was a natural thing she expected but that only made it feel and seem like it wasn’t special. What would feel special is getting all of that from just one person. “Trust me when I tell you I wouldn’t completely like that,” emphasizing the word completely, just to show she wasn’t opposed to that idea, she chuckled and shrugged. “I’d rather have one special person, but that’s hard to find.” She quietly added, keeping a sweet smile as she took a second to look around them, hoping to see… No.
Quickly looking back at him she slowly nodded at his question, even if she wasn’t sure of her answer. “My list is… interesting.” Crossing her arms, she walked closer to him and leaned against the locker like he did. “I got Brandon first but I don’t think I ever had a proper conversation with him. Then Dom, Daniel, Luciano and you.” She added, shrugging her shoulders but quickly switched the subject back to him, not wanting to bother him with her matches when she didn’t know how to feel about them. “I’m happy you’re happy,” with a grin that matched his, she quickly added, figuring he must’ve gotten someone special which only made her more curious about his plans. “Plans with a beautiful girl, huh?” With a slight smirk she turner to face him properly. “I hope you figure out something beautiful then, I don’t expect anything less from you. And what are you doing here then? Go get her!” Jokingly adding, she lightly nudged his arm.
Mareena nodded with a clap of her hands,”Perfecto!” She laughed. “Now that’s better. Comfort of my body over anything else. They always make them so tiny.” She responded with a small laugh again. She slowly walked over to her locker as they talked. Grabbing books from it. Tossing a wink over her shoulder as a response.
Her back faced Valerie, but she could still hear her really well. “I figured. For some reasons I think i’m on to the top.” She spoke and grabbed some of her books and binders from her locker. “I really wished they’d do an assembly of some kind today. I don’t really want to go to class.” She yawned.
She started driving once she got in before speaking again,”Ah, I thought you’d forget.” He teased. “We’ve got your local coffee shop, starbucks, dunkin, and anything else you can think of.” He personally liked the local one, just because they have more room to sit in. “So how was your day at school?” He then continued,”Did you enjoy the reds and the pinks that were all over the school?” He asked sort of joking. The school goes all out, which doesn’t make a whole lotta sense because it’s for one day. Well… a wedding is only one day and they take months of preparation. Those are two totally different things. “Did you look at your list yet?”

Calen wasn’t at all bothered about the Oh My Dollar Valentine. He had planned to just tell the most popular students that they were on his list and then accept one of their invites to prom. Romance had never seriously been a priority for him, however short and meaningless things were more than welcome at all times. But, Calen had to pretend otherwise for the day as he knew that it would be important for prom to have a date. As he was leaving the house, Calen got a notification from social media.

It was obvious that this was not a message sent with Candice’s knowledge, as their last conversation hinted that she would rather go to prom with anyone else. But, this would also be a win for him too. Candice was popular, liked by everyone, and if he was seen taking her to prom, Calen would automatically sky-rocket to the top of the social ladder. So, after only a moment of consideration, Calen composed a short and blunt message back in contrast to the lengthy and formal one he had received.
Once again, he drove to school with his father’s Lamborghini, making sure to pick the space that would put Calen’s car on display for everyone to see. Walking down the halls, he could see more romantic interactions going on than usual, so the Oh My Dollar Valentine had obviously gone down well. That is until they inevitably break up the day after prom.
As soon as he opened his locker, he was approached by someone Calen was unsure whether or not he had met before. “Oh right,” He simply said, remembering that he had gotten the notification for the results, but had not actually looked at them. When Calen opened his phone he saw Kara Melbourne at the top of the list. “Kara?” He asked, looking up. “Yeah, you’re on the top of mine, too.”
Gio was a drink that Luciano couldn’t get enough of. He tasted better with every passing moment and Luciano drank him up, enveloped by all things Gio—his scent, his taste, and the way he felt: inviting, warm and vulnerable. Luciano was nearly drowning in Gio, and yet, it still wasn’t enough. He ached to be closer, closer, closer to him, even though this was the closest he had ever been to him. The kiss had opened the door on a blazing fire of want in him, a sensation that thrummed in his head and electrified his nerves.
He wasn’t usually one to get caught up in his feelings (… that didn’t apply for today) but right now Lui was only feelings; the strong attraction pulsed through his veins and was the driving force of his actions. He moved his hand to the nape of Gio’s neck, letting out a contented sigh against his lips. If this was the high, he didn’t want to come down.
This was everything he had wanted with Gio rolled up into a single kiss. If everything else sucked after today, at least he had this kiss in this moment to bring a spot of light and hope. Even as that thought passed his subconscious, it was dismissed by the stronger feeling that if he had Gio, then nothing could go wrong.
He parted from Gio, pausing to catch his breath from the breathtaking kiss he’d just experienced. Luciano held himself some centimetres away from him, his eyes fluttering open. His mind was stuttering in Spanish, barely able to form complete sentences, let alone converse in English. He could feel himself practically glowing with happiness, the breathless smile pulling at his lips. He shook his head, looking at Gio with a gentle tenderness. “Wow…” he said, for lack of better words. “Eres- I mean, that was- you’re incredible.” He stammered, a light flush warming his cheeks.
Right now, in that moment, that exact time and place with that amazing guy in front of him, that moment was the best Gio has ever felt.
His body and mind were overflowing with so many emotions at once, adrenaline, passion, relief, happiness, desire, love, and so many other things he couldn’t even find the right words to phrase.
As they parted, gio opened his eyes, and if he thought his pupils were enlarged before, now his eyes was basically entirely pupil. Opening his eyes and seeing Luciano first thing in front of him, made gio’s heart pulse so strongly it echoed in his ears,
Wow… Eres- I mean, that was- you’re incredible.
He smiled, his loss of words and language confusion was found adorable in gio’s eyes.
He let his free hand find Lui’s hand, fingers intertwined, he smiled at the boy “ you’re the incredible one” he said “have you ever met yourself?” He added softly
Mare dramatically flipped her hair over her shoulder and laughed,”Exactly, you weren’t lying about those brains earlier, were you?” She teased. “We both got the brains now I guess.” Smiling Mare took one last look in the mirror before closing her locker and looking at the time. She was proud of her outfit, it may not correlate with valentines, but she’ll do that later. “Nah, I cant skip. Even If it sounds appealing my parents already hate me enough. Don’t want to give them another reason. Plus schools somewhat okay for now.” She replied, turning around towards Valerie. “Do you know if anyone is having a party for valentine’s day? I might have one.” She thought, her parents would be fine with it because they’re gonna be gone tonight and tomorrow night then.

The taste of Gio still lingered on Lui’s lips, despite them having parted from each other. Coupled with his mind still replaying the feeling of what it was like to kiss him, Luciano was consciously engrossed in all things Gio. And he was loving it.
“You’re the incredible one. Have you ever met yourself?” Gio murmured back, intertwining his fingers with Lui’s. Luciano glanced down at their fingers, a soft smile coming to his lips as he glanced back up at Gio. His hands were warm and delicate, the fit of their fingers together felt to Luciano that it was how they were meant to be. By now his thoughts had calmed down from the frantic words they were before, so Luciano could form whole sentences that could be understood. He shook his head at Gio’s words, his hand moving from the back of his neck back up to his cheek, which he caressed affectionately. “No I haven’t, but meeting you was the best thing that could’ve happened to me.” He smiled, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of Gio’s face.
Her eyes noticed his nonchalance and it made her hesitate. She expected something flirty and then she would roll her eyes and talk about something else, but to her surprise it didn’t happen. “He should be all excited by now. He got me after all.” She thought. She refrained from glaring at him and instead she cleared her throat and began talking again. "I don’t know how to feel about that yet. I haven’t exactly heard good things about you… " The words just slipped out of her mouth and she didn’t try to put a filter over it.
No I haven’t, but meeting you was the best thing that could’ve happened to me. he said and kissed the side of Gio’s face, hand on cheek.
Even that tiny kiss, or the touch of his hand on his cheek, the smiles, the laughs, the confusion of English and Spanish, every one of those little things that made him the amazing guy gio couldn’t help but fall in love with.
And with every second that passed he just fell in deeper and stronger, as if he was drowning in the sea called Luciano.
“You should meet yourself” he said “you won’t regret it, trust me” he added as a small smirk formed on his lips.
And he really meant it, with all the people he met in his life, not even a single one was as amazing as Luciano in his eyes.
No he wasn’t perfect, he had his flaws like we all do, but in Gio’s eyes he was the most amazing person to walk the earth.
And it wasn’t going to change anytime soon.

Dominic woke up, a bittersweet feeling setting in as he looked at the date. He dragged himself out of bed and picked out his outfit for the day, changing and then going into his bathroom to style his hair. He grabbed his backpack from beside his bedroom door and went downstairs, finding that breakfast had already been prepared. As he ate, he looked at the list of names he’d been sent by the cheerleaders, unable to stop himself from chuckling as he saw Candice’s name on his list.
He finished eating and put his dishes by the sink, then took his keys from the hook and drove to school. He took his time driving since he left early and arrived at the school with time to spare. He walked into the building, wondering how many of these ‘matches’ would turn into real couples. The first thing he did was go to his locker and prepare his books for class. Then he closed the door and made his way down the hall.
Eventually, he spotted a girl who seemed to be alone in the middle of the hallway. He didn’t recognize her and, assuming she was new to the school, walked over to her, smiling. “Hey, you’re new right?” He asked her, unable to think of a different conversation starter. “I’m Dominic.” He introduced himself with a casual smile.
Ruby was just about to go to her locker to get her books when she heard a voice behind her. “Hey, you’re new, right?” Ruby would’ve been happier left alone, but she also wanted friends so she tried not to be rude. She turned, looking up to find a boy with tousled brown hair and dark eyes. She nodded. “Yeah, I am. Pretty obvious, huh?” He introduced himself as Dominic, giving her a smile. She smiled back, happy someone was being friendly. “I’m Ruby. Like the gemstone.” @Caticorn - Dominic
“See you,” he whispered, placing his hands back in his pockets as he watched Aline walk away. He kept his gaze on her the whole time, smiling back as she turned to look at him but as soon as he couldn’t see her anymore he reached for his phone to check his messages. Great, mumbling to himself, he rolled his eyes, slightly annoyed that the girl he wanted to look for next left him on read. He didn’t care if it was too weird to just ask where she was, he didn’t want to waste his time going around the school, searching for Sadie… But thinking about it, maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea. People would notice him and hopefully think he was being a sweet guy. That’s what he needed people to think of him now.
Taking one of the remaining bouquets from his lockers, he quickly fixed his hair and shirt, ready to go on his next mission of the day. Sadie seemed like a girl that would appreciate what he was about to do, especially when she was new and it was her first time participating in what their school had to offer for Valentine’s day. If he made it more special she would remember him and hopefully have a better opinion, now when things weren’t looking that great for him.
Luckily, it didn’t take him long to find her but when he did his smile immediately fell away, seeing who she was with. From everyone, it had to be Lyonrad. What made him more upset was the comment he found on one of his photos because one thing he really didn’t want to happen was Elodie getting closer to him. But that was a problem for another time, right now he couldn’t let him get in the way of his plans. Putting his smile back on, he confidently started walking towards them, trying to ignore Lyonrad and not look his way.
“Sorry to interrupt,” saying it in a sweet way and trying to sound sincere, he kept his gaze on her as he got closer to them. “I was just looking for you because I wanted to wish you a happy Valentine’s day in person and give you this.” Looking down at the flowers he was holding rather proudly, he lifted them up, suggesting for her to take them as he looked back at her with a slight smirk on his face.
He was perfect. From the sharp line of his jaw to the plump shape of his lips, every part of him seemed to be handcrafted by the gods. And then he spoke, and his loveable character shone through, making him even more attractive than before. Even now, while Luciano thought he had seen everything to love about Gio, it seemed like there was something new with every passing minute he spent with him.
“You should meet yourself. You won’t regret it, trust me.” A small smirk curved Gio’s lips as he said this, which amazed Lui because of how perfect the slight change in expression was. He hadn’t even meant to, and yet the simple smirk sent ripples of wonder through him. He chuckled slightly, stunned at the prospect of having landed such an amazing person. “Why would I do that,” he replied, wetting his lips with his tongue, “when I can spend more time with you?” He raised his eyebrows, smiling. “Being here with you, is much better than meeting me or anyone else.”
Luciano couldn’t imagine having to leave this little cocoon they’d made for themselves in this classroom to rejoin the real world, but he vaguely acknowledged that it would have to happen eventually. He didn’t have to think about it right then, he could just be present in this moment with Gio.

“Oh! I… I didn’t even see you there Safiya." She made dopey eyes. Why was Reina so cute? "You scared me a little…” “Sorry.” Safi smiled at her guiltily and raised her shoulders up by her neck. She couldn’t help but giggle out of anxiousness, luckily she was able to relax her shoulders and shift on her feet, biting her lip as Reina started to speak. “Hey, I’m guessing I was your match too.”
“Wow you’re so smart” “Hope there wasn’t someone else you were hoping for.” “How could you ever say that?” Safiya asked, checking her out subtly. “Sooooooo,” She had to save this, thank god she had strict parents who taught her to lie. “You picking me up at seven or what?” She smirked. It was kind of a joke, but truth be told she was actually heating up a bit.
“Its not a big deal. Don’t worry.” She said with a small smile. Reina couldn’t hide the slight pink to her cheeks as she listened to Safiya. “I’m sure there’s a ton of people that would be better to matched to instead of me.” Reina gave a small awkward shrug. “And it’s not like I could even know what you want. You could have had a list of all the hottest guys or girls, who have all had crushes on you since they met you, in mind, and then just my name, for all I knew.” Reina’s eyes widened at Safiya asking if Reina was picking her up at seven. Reina was slightly confused by the out of the blue topic, which didn’t help her not get completely flustered and start to fumble with her words. “Wait, uh seven? When, what? Me? Pick… pick you up? Like… uh, for uh… prom? Or uh… something… something else I’m not thinking about?” The slight pink of blushing in Reina’s cheeks quickly turned to a light red of embarrassment as she spoke.
She heard Reina talking down about herself and rolled her eyes. Safiya tried to be nice, but that babe was a dumb@ss for being insecure about anything from her head to her toes. “Reina, don’t” She locked eyes with her to show that she was dead serious, “I think it’s cute when you fumble your words” She blurted, breaking eye contact and processing the water fountain on the other side of the hall, pulling her hands out of her pockets as if she was in danger. She felt like she was, she felt like justin bieber when he was like, i like that laugh.
“You don’t have to when you’re with me though, just saying.” She said to put her at ease. nothing you could say would mess this up. She thought. That would definitely be way too cringey. r U lOsT bAbYgOrl

Since a very young age Gio was always one to live in the mindset that if he wants to be happy he needs to work hard and do things to make it happen, and nobody can do it but him. Never in his life he even imagined another person could simply make him a million times happier just by being there in their simple yet perfect existence.
Not even in a romantic way necessarily , but ever since he met Luciano, he just felt at home. And with every day that went by he grew to love him in every way possible, just his presence made Gio automatically happier no matter the occasion, he just has that effect on him. Was he some kind of angel in disguise?
Why would I do that, when I can spend more time with you? Being here with you, is much better than meeting me or anyone else.
His words made gio smile, even though he didn’t fully agree, because Luciano in fact was way more amazing than him, and it wasn’t even a matter of self esteem, it was just the truth. But he chose not to argue even though he could go on for hours until he believes it.
“What did I ever do to deserve being this lucky?” He asked softly, though there wasn’t really an answer.
Gio never expected Valentine’s Day to end up this way, or any way at all but a regular day to be honest, but he couldn’t be happier with the result.
All this time he held himself back from exposing it all to Luciano, all this time he pretends to be straight out of fear, all this time he tried denying his emotions and stopping them from existing,
None of it managed to stop this from happening, and made gio happy and hopeful.
It was a strong bond they had, it wasn’t something one could easily just break.
It was special.
He knew they had to leave at some point, that as much as he wanted it to, this moment couldn’t last forever and this tiny perfect little bubble they were in needed to pop eventually.
But he was in peace, and he knew he’ll do anything is his powers to make it work.
It was too important to him, he was too important to him.
All other important things seemed to just shrink as if they never mattered as much in the first place.
But the feelings he had for him was too strong to ever give up.
