Waiting for Valerie to say something, anything, she carefully watched her reaction. It was not hard for her to pick up on details, she liked to be the one that notices everything and knows when something is going on. Just like now, she could see Valerie zooned out for a bit looking at her longer than she expected but Elodie didn’t say anything. Instead, she looked down at her dress, dusting it off. “Yeah, absolutely. You look perfect, and I’m not biased” Chuckling, she looked up at her, jokingly rolling her eyes but once again kept quiet waiting for her to do something first. She felt like Val was giving her compliments in more of a flirtatious way even if she knew that wasn’t the smartest idea.
Crossing her arms, she looked over her shoulder at the door before Valerie walked out, simply smiling at her. Of course she thinks like that, she thought as she looked at the mirror one last time before walking out herself.
With a soft smile on, she stopped right in front of the door, looking around for anyone she might know. Since she got here she didn’t see her bother which was quite unusual because he would always be somewhere around, creeping on her. Or that was just something that was in her head. It was then when her eyes landed on two guys, just standing and talking.
“Hey,” she sweetly said as she slowly approached them, putting on a warm, innocent smile she almost always had on. She didn’t really know the guys but she did recognise one because of her brother. He was on his team if she wasn’t mistaken. “You’re Maverick, right?” She asked a bit unsurely but tried to seem confident about her words and actions. Always being around Dorian and listening to his football stories over the dinner table she knew pretty much about everything going on in that team. It wasn’t something she was interested in but she always had to listen, there was no other choice.
“Here,” looking down at her purse as she opened it, taking out the reddish lipstick she always puts before lipgloss, she leaned against the counter grabbing a paper tissue. Writing down her number, trying not to make it look sloppy considering she was using lipstick she gently pushed it closer to him, looking up with the same warm smile on. “If you see him give me a call,” she quickly added, staying quiet for a second before chuckling to herself, pushing a strand of her hair behind her ear. “Or just tell him I’m looking for him, that makes more sense. But yeah…” Slightly shaking her head, she laughed lightly looking down at her purse as she put her lipstick back in it, closing it after. “See you around,” looking up at both of them, tightly holding her purse, she sweetly said before walking away.
But there was nothing to do, all her friends were either talking with someone or were nowhere to be seen. Stopping the waiter passing by her, she took a glass from his tray with a warm smile before turning around only to come face to face with Safiya. “Oh, you’re here too?” She spoke up right away, trying to sound as polite as possible. She didn’t like her that much, she thought they were too different but that didn’t mean she had to act differently.
