“Do you need a reminder which one of us lately got a boner… I don’t think so,”
A chuckle left his lips as Dan shook his head, “Touche Wood,” Daniel uttered, smiling as their conversation fell back to the previous joking mood - back onto the princess. “Well, you want to talk about perverts? Apparently, the original Sleeping Beauty had the prince raping her in the woods while she was asleep with her curse. She didn’t wake up until she gave birth with the kids the prince unknowingly impregnated her with,” Dan explained. Yes, he was the person that at 5 years old, he was reading the real versions of the bs fairytales instead of the stories his nanny told him about how the prince saved the princess, yada yada.
A slight smirk made its way onto his features as he put his shirt on and the girl mentioned she was starting to not be a fan of them. With that, Dan leaned against the elevator, watching her with his eyebrow raised as he slowly buttoned the shirt up. “I wonder why?” Dan mumbled cheekily, “Although you may look drop-dead gorgeous in that dress, I can’t say I’m a fan of it anymore either.” Dan smiled allowing his eyes to slowly trail down her body once again.
As he started working on the elevator, nodding as the girl handed him his phone and propping the back of it open to expose the circuit board of the phone as she asked about the problem. “Exactly. Power’s off - but since Mikel has such a good security system, the whole house goes into automatic lockdown even if the power goes out,” Dan mumbled, “but my phone may be able to power it long enough to open before frying out” Dan told the girl as he used his keys to begin stripping wires in the elevator - slightly hoping he was sober enough that his hands were steady or he’d be getting a bad electric shock with the connections.
He laughed as the girl said that Mikel should start taking the stairs and nodded, taking a deep breath as he cut the wire and twisted them. “Alright… so either I’ll die or the elevator will open. It’s 50/50,” Dan stated jokingly. It was more like 90/10, so the chances were in his favor, though a little suspense never hurt anyone. With that, Daniel connected the wires to the circuit board, holding them in place as the elevator whirred to life, the elevator doors opening most of the way revealing their way out into the second floor before his phone sparked and fried out. “Gotta get a new phone in the morning… and Mikel needs to get a new elevator,” Dan chuckled, getting up as he grabbed his jacket and tie as he leaned against the now open doors.
Daniel looked at her with a slight frown now, not knowing what to say. He knew that the minute they left the room… they had to go back to normal. Dan’s normal. Even though it slightly hurt… he knew it was always better this way. Especially with him. So the words that came out next, he didn’t want to say… but he did. “What stays in Vegas… or in this case Mikel’s elevator…” Dan started, looking at her to finish it.
