”Maybe. I don’t think seeing her would help, she’s still going to be dead." He still didn’t sound certain at all, but Aline didn’t know what advice would be helpful to him. She wanted him to do what would give him the most amount of closure, but it didn’t seem like he really knew what that action was. “You know what’s best for your grief,” she said. “So just do that.”

“Don’t promise stuff.” Her brows furrowed. “Why not?” Was he referring to the fact that it was possible that he and Lui could break up in the months that lay between now and his birthday? That thought had crossed her mind earlier, that she probably wouldn’t be friends with him anymore if that happened, but now that she was thinking of her not getting to give him a good birthday because of it… no way, he deserved that one really good day. “It’s alright,” he added. It wasn’t alright though. He was going to get a good birthday, especially after the one he gave her. “No, I owe you this birthday… no matter what happens.” He was her friend too, so if she wanted to do something special like that for him then she would. “Even if we’re fighting or you and Lui are or something… I’m still gonna come with a cake and we’re gonna do all your favourite things.”

"That’s because guys are mostly sh!t.” She laughed at that, the noise probably a little louder than it should be at a funeral venue, and so she covered her mouth, trying to stifle the giggles. “Okay yeah the bar is pretty low,” she said with a smirk. "I’m gay as hell and I still say that. But thanks I appreciated that.” She smiled gently, nodding slightly. “Just the truth.”

"Yes ma’am. VIP Vegas tripper witness.” She laughed too, enjoying this moment with him. He really was a cool person to be around. “Exactly, that’s my title. I’ll take pictures too, be like a maid of honour/best woman or whatever.”

”You know what’s best for your grief, So just do that."
He nodded ”Thanks” he said, having her around at this time was definitely good for him, made it a bit less hard in a way. ”You’re right” he added

“Why not?. No, I owe you this birthday… no matter what happens. Even if we’re fighting or you and Lui are or something… I’m still gonna come with a cake and we’re gonna do all your favourite things.”
”I mean, a lot can happen in three months. I could die, me and Lui could break up or god knows what, and as much as I want you to, I don’t think you’d stay friends with me if it happens and we break up… you are his twin sister after all” he said with a light shrug, somewhat sadly. His relationship with Lui was one of the best things that has ever happened to him, but good things in his life going wrong wasn’t a foreign concept to him. He was just worried for the future… “But thanks” he said with a light smile ”It means a lot” he added genuinely.

“Okay yeah the bar is pretty low,”
”You’re not wrong” he said ”There are some good ones, but most guys are complete d!cks. No wonder most of my friends are girls” he chuckled
“Just the truth.”
He smiled sheepishly and looked at the sky.

“Exactly, that’s my title. I’ll take pictures too, be like a maid of honour/best woman or whatever.”
”best woman” he repeated with a small laugh, ”that’s a concept I’ve never seen before” he said ”Sounds like a fun trip” he added with a smirk

“Guess”

Shaking his head slightly with a smile prevalent on his lips, Daniel didn’t respond to that statement though they both knew the answer was the living, walking ball of fur near their feet. Though he passively listened to the controversial topics they had started, Daniel was far more interested in her next answer. He was honestly expecting her to just agree with the statement. He wouldn’t blame her. He hated himself most of the time. Though her answer surprised him. “Don’t know if you’d be saying that if you knew everything I had done,” Daniel muttered - grabbing an Almond Croissant and taking a small bite as he focused on his computer.

“Clearly because you aren’t… are you?”

Sure Daniel could lie and say he was. But what was the point in that. “Not right now - though I can’t say I haven’t done it in the past,” Daniel responded, sighing as his system revealed there were currently no hits. Well… that wasn’t exactly right. His computer had found one hit in London, England - though he knew that security camera video that popped up of a girl exiting a car was Anna and not Jessica. Anna Pierce had always been easier to locate.

“Favorite relative huh?” Daniel questioned, closing the computer with a sigh. The system would keep looking even though his computer was off but at this point, it wasn’t worth it. “What about Adele?” Dan smiled, “Don’t leave her out in the dark now,” he explained. Though her next statement brought more intrigue within him. “Ahh, another non-fan of Jessica. You know it’s ironic. If I disappeared off the face of the earth, people would probably celebrate. Jessica disappears and for those first few weeks - I had people getting in touch with me nonstop about where she went.” Daniel added. “That was until they all realized she had just decided to leave and not tell anyone why,” he continued. It was actually quite frustrating - Jessica hadn’t even told Daniel what happened. Though he swore it had something to do with Lyonrad Fulcruth. After all, he saw foul messages from Lyonrad’s dm’s that they had sex the night before - meaning he must have done something to mess up. Nevertheless - Dan had made sure that idiot knew to stay away from Jess now that she was back.

“Don’t know if you’d be saying that if you knew everything I had done,”
”Maybe.” she said ”don’t get me wrong I’m definitely not a fan of your work, but I mean, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a bad person. If that makes any sense.” she explained kinda ”Maybe I’m wrong, I don’t know” she shrugged and finished the pastry in her hand.

"Not right now - though I can’t say I haven’t done it in the past,”
”Fair. Wait really?” she replied in surprise with a raised brow ”Have you though?”
“Favorite relative huh? What about Adele? Don’t leave her out in the dark now,”
”She’s follow up number two, don’t tell her” she chuckled ”I think she’ll survive without being my favorite relative”

”I remember that. It was sh!t, but that’s not why I don’t like her.” she said not saying anything else about it. She remembered that time quite well, Jessica leaving out of nowhere definitely hurt her a lot back in the days, but it wasn’t the reason she was mad at Jessica ”Not everyone would be happy about that though, what about people that care about you? Jordan would be sad, Mare, Jezebel, Tala… Jessica too” she said at his comment about disappearing, mentioning people she knew were close to him.

"Thanks, you’re right.” It was always nice being told that she was right, but she also felt pretty self-satisfied that she had said the right thing. Aline hoped that her presence was enough for him as she liked to think that he was pretty comforting.

“I mean, a lot can happen in three months. I could die”Jesus, she thought, alarmed—"me and Lui could break up or god knows what, and as much as I want you to, I don’t think you’d stay friends with me if it happens and we break up… you are his twin sister after all.” She looked at him, her expression conflicted. "But thanks. It means a lot.” He wasn’t wrong though, in fact, he was probably right. It was hard for her to envision a relationship with him if he stopped dating Lui, especially if the breakup was messy, but at the same time she knew she would be there for his birthday. She said she would be, and she generally liked to honour her words. “I can’t say you’re wrong,” she said after a beat, “but when I say I’ll be there for your birthday, I mean it. If you’re dead, we’ll have your birthday on your grave. If you guys break up, I’m still gonna show up, whether you want me to or not.” Aline looked down at her hands, a light sigh escaping her lips. “I don’t know what’ll happen between now and then or after, but your birthday will be a… truce, for us at least.” Her gaze moved up to him, her face set with lines of determination… “Maybe we won’t be friends before it or even after, but that day, it’ll be like it is right now. Okay?” He deserved a day that was a special day just for him, and if she had to go through hell or high water, she was going to freaking give it to him.

“You’re not wrong. There are some good ones, but most guys are complete d!cks. No wonder most of my friends are girls.” She giggled, nodding. “Honestly. So hard to find good ones. Though, many girls are b-tches too.”

“Best woman—that’s a concept I’ve never seen before.” She shrugged, a playful smirk dancing on her lips. “Like either of you have a better guy than me to fill the spot of ‘best man,’” she teased, scoffing. “Sounds like a fun trip.” She lifted an eyebrow at him, smiling slightly. “Well yeah, considering you’d be eloping yes I think it would be fun.”

”A graveyard rave” he chuckled ”but of course I’d want you to show up, I can’t seem to find a reason not to, you’re just too awesome” he shrugged with a light smirk

”Sounds like a great plan to me” he smiled Looking forward to it” he added, which was in a way surprising, because he never looked forward to his birthday. His birthday wasn’t a day he liked or waited for, but this time in a way he did kind of looked forward to his birthday. Maybe because his life was changing, or god knows what. But he was.

“Honestly. So hard to find good ones. Though, many girls are b-tches too.”
”They are actually” he agreed ”but not all. Like, apart from Lui I think the favorite and most amazing people I’ve met in my life were all girls” he said ”maybe I’m wrong though”

“Like either of you have a better guy than me to fill the spot of ‘best man,’”
”Clearly no one has that. They just all settle for mediocre best men instead of just taking you” he said rolling with it ”Their lives are just empty”
“Well yeah, considering you’d be eloping yes I think it would be fun.”
He chuckled ”Obviously” he nodded with a light smirk, not that he minded the idea at all, but he wasn’t actually planning on eloping. it did sound like a fun trip though.

He watched her as she talked about not being a fan of his work: her subtle movements and facial expressions. It was intriguing, though really, Daniel was just watching to see if she was lying to him. He wouldn’t be surprised, honestly. Not many people told Daniel the truth - rather choosing to tell him what he’d like to hear instead. But if there was one thing he knew about Valerie Wood, it was the fact that she was honest.

“Maybe you are,” Dan whispered to her question as she finished eating the food she was holding. “Or maybe you’re not,” he continued in a whisper only just above audible.

He smiled slightly when she asked if he had, indeed, used his resources for some good in the world - leaving tips for the cops to deal with the criminals he had found in the past. “I’ll leave it to your imagination,” Daniel added, taking a drink of his now cold coffee as she talked about Adele being her second favorite family member. “Kai’s mighty high on that list,” Dan laughed, “But you can trust me to keep a secret. I won’t be telling Adele about how her cousin chose someone else over her,”

Though what really caught his attention was when she said that it wasn’t for the fact that Jess disappeared that Valerie didn’t like her. “Really?” Dan questioned, raising his eyebrow as he watched her. “What she do? Steal your food?” He joked slightly as she continued about who would miss him. “Ahh, remember when I said I was an ass at dinner? Yeah, you can take Jezebel off the list of people who will miss me. And… Tala,” Dan told the girl with no indication of continuing the statement.

Mikel didn’t mind Dorian being there, they were friends and although they weren’t super close they still got along. If he was being honest, there wasn’t anyone he really hated. He felt hate was too strong and why even exert that amount on someone who doesn’t even deserve his time. Jessica hugged Andy and then did the same to Mikel, giving him a kiss on the cheek and following it with a friendly smack to the head. Same as she did to Andy. * “You’re both drunk?”* “Aye, Aye captain.” Mikel said back to Jessica’s question as he snapped his fingers. "You really called them? How didn’t you expect this would happen?” Mikel listened to Dorian ask all his questions. “What even got you two in here anyways?” He asked him with a raised brow as he walked over to the wall and leaned his shoulder and head against it. "And you decided THIS was all you’d sneak past security for me?” A laugh escaped Mikey’s lips and he shook his head. “Oh no, I had a whole store with me but dumby over there stole the whole lot.” He wished he had his slushie now more than ever, his mouth feeling dry from the chips he had eaten on the way here. ”Mikey though… different story” He smirked and nodded to Andy as he was looking his way now. “I’m calm, man, reeeeeal calm.” He would rather be this way, it pushed away from the sadness and hurt he felt otherwise. Though it wasn’t a great coping mechanism, it is what he preferred.

“It’s better than a park bench, that’s for sure”

“Hey don’t knock my park bench. It was comfier than you’d expect” Jordan replied almost immediately, nudging her slightly before laughter met his lips as he couldn’t honestly say that with a serious expression for too long. “Okay fine - it wasn’t that comfortable. But it did the job while I needed it and it led me to dating one of the most amazing people I know,” Jordan revealed with a slight smile. “And I know I don’t ‘owe’ you - but I want to do this for you Jez,” he explained.

Though his smile soon fell as Jezebel continued, explaining exactly what had happened. Rather, a filling sense of anger and disappointment filled Jordan Williams at Daniel’s actions. What the hell was wrong with him? Over the years that Jordan had known Daniel, that man had done horrible things. But Jordan knew he wasn’t a bad person. He had seen it himself, when Daniel Parker thought no one was looking - the care he took with his friends, the things the man did when he was by himself. Daniel Parker wasn’t a bad person - just someone who didn’t let many people see the good in him. But the one thing that Jordan NEVER thought Daniel would do, despite all of the bad he had already done, was hurt Jezebel Sloane. His best friend. Hell, his sister. Jordan had no words at how Daniel had reacted. But at the same time, something at the edge of his mind recalled the text Daniel had sent him to find Jezebel. He wasn’t lost… not yet.

As the girl begin crying, Jordan put the cup down and wrapped his arms around her once for the second time that night to hug her. “Hey, shh,” Jordan mumbled, gently rubbing her back comfortingly. “Daniel… processes things differently. We both know that. What he did was the furthest thing from alright, but don’t let him get the best of you,” Jordan whispered as he held her for a long time.

"After a while, waiting until she stopped crying, Jordan finally let go - slowly cupping her face gently. “You are the strongest person I know. And you deserve the best Jezebel. So just do me a favor. Go to sleep tonight, and let’s talk about this in the morning,” Jordan whispered, finally pulling away. Jezebel looked tired… drained from seemingly everything that had been going on in her life. He knew the girl well enough to know that much. But another thing playing at the edge of his mind was the fact that Jordan Williams needed to have a talk with Daniel tonight. “Here, my room’s on the right. Let’s get a shower running if you want and get you some new clothes so you can sleep.” he smiled.

“Maybe you are, Or maybe you’re not,”
*”Why are you whispering” she whispered at him in confusion as he was whispering as well

“I’ll leave it to your imagination,”
”Well” she said ”Now you won’t know what I think, I’ll leave that to your imagination” she smirked, she might have possibly believed him but she wasn’t sure, it was nice to think he has though.
“Kai’s mighty high on that list, But you can trust me to keep a secret. I won’t be telling Adele about how her cousin chose someone else over her,”
”There’s not many people on the list” she chuckled ”But much appreciated”

“Really? What she do? Steal your food?”
”What an outrage” she said at the guess, ”not my food! But no, that’s not it. It doesn’t really matter though” She shrugged not wanting to elaborate much about what really happened
“Ahh, remember when I said I was an ass at dinner? Yeah, you can take Jezebel off the list of people who will miss me. And… Tala,”
”Really? You and Jezebel were always close though! I don’t think one dinner could ruin that. And Tala though… didn’t you start dating like, yesterday or something? That was the fastest breakup I’ve ever seen” she commented

”And you’re a short bean”

The words resulted in an immediate glare from Jessica as she picked up one of the heels, she had taken off earlier and threw it at Andy McAllister. Not too hard, but enough to show that Andy better tread carefully with his next few words. There were two things you should never do with Jessica Pierce – try to take her food and call her short. Was it so hard to remember? “I’m sorry – what did you call me again you giant?” Jess questioned, rolling her eyes with a laugh as the man revealed that he missed her too… soon followed with the addition from Mikel that he was, indeed wasted. “And I wasn’t offered an invite to whatever this was?” Jess joked, “Should I be offended?” “And to answer your question Mikey boy, the reason we are in here is that I’m supposedly drunk,” Jess stated with air quotes, “And Dorian just really wanted to come along for the ride and see how it feels to get arrested.”

Jessica nodded when the man revealed that it was time to call someone else. “No kidding,” Jess sighed – her frown only growing when both Andy and Mikel revealed that her offering was taken away by the cops. “F*cking hell” Jess mumbled. “Hold up – that’s not okay,” Jess sighed, going over to the bars as Jessica called Roy over – who had replaced the earlier cop on shift watching them. “Roy… anyyyyy chance you could sneak us the snacks these idiots brought me… I’m starving,” Jess stated, pouting slightly as laughter left the man’s lips.

The man looked around for a few seconds before adhering to her look and uttering, ”Alright, but you can’t tell anyone”

“Wait… mind if I go with you. Since these monkeys are locked up with me, I need to call someone else to let us out and these two probably aren’t sober enough to remember phone numbers let alone their own names,” Jess added, smiling as the man nodded – opening the bars to lead the girl back to the phone. After Roy had led her there, he told her that he was going to go grab her those snacks and she smiled. “You’re amazing – but don’t think I’m going to go easy on poker night because of this,” Jess laughed, winking at the man as she punched in her second set of numbers. This time to one Dylan DeLoughrey – one person she knew wasn’t drunk on this night.

After an… interesting explanation to Dylan, Jessica returned to the holding cell with a slushie in her hand alongside a few other snacks that she immediately spread around the floor– smiling at the boys inside. “Love you Roy – I’d marry you if I could” she yelled at him as he walked away with a laugh.

“Well… if we’re stuck in here we might as well have some fun. Game of truth anyone? I’ll start. Who… hmm… who was your very first crush?” Jess asked, starting off easy as she took a sip of the drink and sat back down on the floor. After a few minutes of silence, Jess rolled her eyes “Alright I’ll answer first,” She stated, looking around the room ominously “Mine is in this room,” She continued - opening up a bag of chips and plopping one into her mouth. “It was McNugget. I was a simp for that idiot,” Jess laughed, kicking him slightly as she looked at the three boys. “Andy? Mikel?.. Dorian?” Jess questioned, debating if she even wanted to acknowledge Dori anymore. But she did, nevertheless.

“I’m calm, man, reeeeeal calm.”
”He’s very calm he’s not lying, I have no idea how he got here alive” he said with a small smile and ruffled Mikel’s hair
“I’m sorry – what did you call me again you giant?”
”You heard me,” he said with a mischievous smirk “Kid”

“And I wasn’t offered an invite to whatever this was? Should I be offended?”
”Getting drunk and smashing old cars” he said, explaining what this was.
”And Dorian just really wanted to come along for the ride and see how it feels to get arrested.”
”I didn’t think the day I’ll see Dori get arrested would come so fast” he stated with a joking smirk

As Jessica went over to the cop guy to get the food and call another rescue, Andy changed a position against the wall and looked over at Dorian ”I didn’t know you too were friends again” he said with a slightly raised eyebrow, even though he wasn’t sure they were.
“Love you Roy – I’d marry you if I could”
”Say what?” he crossed his arms and raised his brow at her statement with surprise in his tone ”Just like that?” he added ”Obviously you can’t though. You’re already married aren’t you” he added with a smirk, sucks for you Roy.

“…Game of truth anyone? I’ll start. Who… hmm… who was your very first crush? Alright I’ll answer first, Mine is in this room, it was McNugget. I was a simp for that idiot,”
”You’re sh!tting me aren’t you-” he looked at her pretty much shocked at the new information that he just heard ”Wait seriously?” like, what? WHAT ”Damn. I mean, mine was Jess, like what-” he said with a somewhat confused friend ”wtf”

“It was a joke on your parents because of the comments they make at every single dinner about us being together and we both wanted it to stop. But I’m glad you and Anna were happy.”
“Funny,” was the only thing he could say with a straight face after a moment of silence, avoiding looking at her. Now that was just… good to hear and stupid. But can he say that? When he did a similar thing?
So not only was their idea stupid but he felt stupid. If he knew that before she asked about Anna he would say how that was also a joke but no. Now he would feel even worse if he told her the truth so the only thing he could do is avoid her gaze and nod. “Yeah, happy.”

If he ever felt more ignored and not appreciated, more than he feels in his own home, it was in this room, in this very moment. The feeling of not belonging, it wasn’t very nice. A feeling he would never wish for anyone, not even the people he supposedly hates. One small room and four people but he still felt alone. A completely different feeling than from just an hour ago, but both terrible. And there wasn’t really anything he could do. In that situation, if it’s not his family, he would act the same way as the other person, so that’s what he did.

Leaning back against the wall, he looked away from the group, trying to ignore their voices as he drew random shapes on the floor with his finger. Kind of like a calming down mechanism, a distraction. Circles inside of circles, spirals and squares. But it wasn’t helping, he was still listening to everything that was happening, almost wishing things were different. Wishing he was able to say something that would make sense, to joke about the reason why the two of them joined them… but wishing things were different meant this, being here, would’ve never happened.

The moment Jessica left again was the moment he said his first words after a while, or whispered them. “We’re not. I guess I wasn’t important enough to even know she’s alive,” he simply shrugged, keeping his head down as his finger continued making random shapes. But what actually made him look up as what the topic of marriage. Or just that new information he didn’t really get. Married? Who? What? Or just… how? But at that point he was already too hurt to even ask so he leaned forward resting his elbows on his knees and chuckled to himself. I don’t want to be here, the only though he had in his mind.

“Andy? Mikel?.. Dorian?”
Hearing his own name made him slightly raise his brow, but as his head was down it wasn’t noticeable. So now he was important? Letting Andy answer her question first, he started playing with the laces of his shoes. “I don’t want to play that stupid game,” a mumble, followed by a shrug. “It’s not like what I’d say would matter because it seems like I’m not supposed to be here, in this group. So continue not acknowledging me, please.” He whispered. “It’s very comforting.” Another whisper as he continued playing with the laces of his shoes almost nervously, not even looking up at them once.

Ketziah Drake

It had been quite some time since Ketziah had been back home, but before she could go home, she had somewhere she had to stop first. Kasper wouldn’t be home until late that night anyway, so she had the time. “Hey dad, hey mom. I’m home.” Ketziah paused, smelling the pair of flowers in her hand before placing them at her parents’ graves. “Kasper’s got me, and I’m taking care of him too. Miss you, wish you were still here.” Ketziah let out a sigh with a frown before standing up and walking away. She barely had any vague memories left of her mom, mainly just the comforting feel she had when her mom was there, and the memories of her dad grew less clear by the day. That’s why she went there, to feel close to them for even just a moment to try and hold onto those memories. She hadn’t expected to come across a funeral ending as she had been walking back to her car, much less the funeral for a Cerulean high student. Candice Clarke, a girl Ketziah knew of, maybe met once as a freshman, but not someone she knew well by any means. Ketziah spotted a girl nearby, who she had known for years, but had hardly spoken with a long while. “Hey Yara.” Ketziah said as she walked towards her, hands in her pockets. “What happened?”

@CerealKiller - hope it’s alright that I said it was just after the funeral. If not, I can change it.

The funeral went on for a while, another angel went back to heaven and all the nonsense people told themselves to feel better when their loved ones die.
Daniel made a little… speech, that made her realise how much he really has changed, he was like a different person now, and in a way, it just hurt to see.
As the funeral was over, her mum went back to the office and offered to give her a ride home, but Yara declined the offer and said she’ll walk. She didn’t really want to go home just yet, as sad as it was, it was a nice day outside.
As she crossed the road walking away, she ran into someone she hasn’t seen in quite a long time
”Hey Yara.”
”Ketziah?” she called surprised with a light smile at the girl, walking towards her as well
”What happened?”
”Um, Candice ran away and died in a crash on prom night” she told her shortly ”If you remember her” she added
”Wait are you back?” she asked “School and all?” she added

“Why are you whispering”

The corners of his lips raised just slightly to implicate an attempt at holding in a laugh. “We wouldn’t want anyone to know that the Valerie Wood was caught sitting next to and gasp talking to Daniel Parker, now would we?” Daniel questioned in a joking manner. Though Daniel had jokingly mentioned it, them sitting together and not… well… killing each other would raise questions. He wasn’t wrong there. Though this late at night on a Monday at a Starbucks, he doubted many people would be out. Though, the possibility was never zero.

“Damn,” Daniel muttered as she used his line against him. “Aren’t you a cheeky bast-rd?” he continued. Though something that he had come to enjoy about Valerie Wood, over the past few days, was the fact that she could easily turn his own statements around at him. Conversations with Valerie were… dare he say… fun. She did have a way of keeping him on his toes. Though he’d never let the girl know that.

As Dan finished the last of his black coffee, placing the empty mug on the table, he carefully evaluated her expressions as she discussed why she hated Jessica - in honestly the vaguest way possible. “Some people think her food taking skills are a travesty. She once stole Prince Harry’s horderves right from his plate. He still isn’t a fan of her,” Daniel said in more of a joking manner than anything. It wasn’t a lie - he remembered that day clearly as she stole something from the Prince’s plate. But the man didn’t necessarily hate her for it. Though Harry did bring it up whenever the two were in the same room. The man may lack a full head of hair, but his stubbornness game was strong. “You don’t have to tell me. Just curious.” Dan sighed with a shrug. “Too many people hate Jessica and me to keep track of anyways,”

"Last Call. Doors close in 10 minutes.

Daniel heard the barista’s call out as it was almost time for the establishment to close up shop. Though Daniel made no effort to put the snacks back into the bag - rather far too interested in the current conversation. “Jezebel and I haven’t been close for months and I have my doubts we ever will be again,” Daniel stated, with finality in his voice. He didn’t want to discuss why - after all, the whole school knew she had been hiding that she was related to him for years. “And…” Daniel started, thinking about what to say about Tala. For some reason, Daniel didn’t want to lie to the girl… which was an oddity. Daniel usually didn’t have any problems lying. But why was it hard to get out something like Tala and I are good? So instead of directly answering, he just switched the conversation. “Not true. I’ve seen celebs get together and break up faster than that in ages. But, I also never said we broke up.” Daniel explained. “Can’t break up something that was never together,” he continued honestly.

Though with that, Daniel stood up - placing the uneaten pastries in the bag before handing it to her. “Just so I know you’ll be eating for tomorrow,” Daniel explained before grabbing his laptop and placing it in his bag. WIth that, Daniel grabbed Furball’s leash. “Alright, Furball. Say goodbye to the fiesty woman,” Daniel muttered with a soft smile as he picked the dog up. “and…I’ll… maybe see you later then?” he asked more as a question than a statement. Perhaps there was a time where Daniel would have said something along the lines of ‘go to hell Wood,’ or ‘Hell’s only a small walk away, why don’t you go visit,’ or something as a leaving remark to the girl. But… something had changed. Daniel couldn’t do that anymore.

Mikel heard everyone talking but he wasn’t fully paying attention. His mind was running everywhere from the recent incidents that took place on prom, the stars that were floating around Jess and Dorian’s head, and even his family. He knew his mom would freak out if she knew where he was right now and he knew to never call her in this type of situation, he would rather his father would just keep it between them and pay off any media who found out. He was pulled back into the reality of being arrested when Andy ruffled his hair. Mikel shook it back out and let it fall slightly over the rim of his glasses. ”Getting drunk and smashing old cars” He nodded his head to Andy’s explanation of what they were doing. “I also did some other things.” He added with a wink. He watched as Jess left with the guard but soon she came back with all the things that were once in Mikel’s arms when they walked in. "Who was your very first crush? Jess asked the group and then she quickly answered the own question saying it had been Andy for her and surprisingly vice versa for him. Dorian said he didn’t want to play the game and Mikel really wondered what was up with his grumpy mood. “I’m not supposed to be here, in this group” “Who p^ssed in your cheerios this morning D?” Mikel joked with him and nudged him as he walked past him. “My first crush was Ms.Wistch from down the streak, well my first real crush. The elementary school stuff doesn’t count since it was a different person every day.” He laughed a bit as he took off his glasses and used his shirt to clean them off, they had dirt on them from the junkyard. “Do you think sand is called sand because it is between the land and the sea?” He asked the group but really he was just saying his thoughts out loud while he cleaned the glasses. He laughed a bit to himslef. “No, no, back to the game. What is your number?” He asked the small group with a raised brow and then put the glasses back on. “You know, How many people have you slept with?”

”Kid”

Jessica’s glare intensified as the man uttered that word. “McAllister, you’re going to regret this day. I suggest you remember it very well because I will get major payback for that,” Jess grumbled, throwing her other heel at him in the process as he continued to explain what Mikel and Andy had been doing. “So, I should be offended then, huh?” Jess asked with a roll of her eyes. “I’m a great car smasher I’ll let you know….and…other things too,” she stated, pensively adding what Mikel said with a raised eyebrow knowing that ‘other things’ was a broad term.

When she returned to the cell, plopping another potato chip in her mouth, a laugh emitted from her lips as Andy revealed that she ‘obviously couldn’t’ marry Roy and was shocked at how easily she had said the words. “Yes, Just like that. You should know it doesn’t take much to marry me, Andy – seeing as you’re the one who put a ring on my finger in the first place,” Jess grinned, going over to the man who was now sitting on the floor and laying her head against his lap. “Though I may have to divorce you soon Andy if Roy keeps breaking the rules for me,” she smiled. In reality, she probably should have done the divorcing thing a long time ago but what a hassle that was. Plus, both Andy and Jess were underage on that borrowed cruise ship as the captain married them off – so did it even technically hold? Oh, who the hell knew. All Jess knew was that she had a marriage certificate signed by herself and a very drunk Andy a year ago. All the legalities needed to be checked out by a lawyer and honestly neither Andy nor Jess had made any effort – rather just going off the assumption they were married with no care in the world. After all, it was just a piece of paper.

Though what really caught her attention was when, after she asked her question of their first crush, Andy revealed that she was his – resulting in a wide Cheshire grin on her lips. “Well, we both really dropped the ball there huh?” Jess got out between her laughter. “Why the hell did you think I started following you around like a lost puppy after that spin the bottle in the 4th grade?” Jess smiled. “But then you repeatedly called me a friend to my face and I know how to take a hint idiot…Who knows. Maybe we would have been married a lot sooner if you had told me, dummy,” Jess continued, poking the man on his cheek as she revealed that.

Though, Jessica’s good mood was soon spoiled when Dorian replied with ”I don’t want to play that stupid game”. What was even the point of trying with him anymore? And Jessica had, indeed, tried multiple times. From reaching out on social media, through trying to talk to him in the car, hell, even now. Sure, she was four years late… but… better late than, never right? Yes… that sounded stupid even in her own head.

“Well,” Jess started, getting up from her human-sized pillow as she joined Dorian on the bench. “If he won’t answer, I can do it for him. Wasn’t it… Elena Kelly Conrad? The girl with three first names? I remember you telling me about it once when you still talked to me.” Jess stated – facing him as she leaned on the wall, so she was looking directly at him. Maybe there was something in her that wanted her to keep trying with Dorian. To break through past this wall he put up. But it was honestly right along with the feeling in her that was telling her to give up.

“Potato Chip?” Jess asked the man with curiosity in her eyes as she held the bag towards him. As Mikel told the group who his first crush was. “Oh, elementary school Mikel – Now he was an interesting guy,” Jess smiled turning back towards Mikel. “I miss the days when I was taller than you, Mr. Giraffe”

She smiled as she watched the guy who she could easily tell was high out of his mind ask about the word ‘sand,’ though chose not to respond. Though she did laugh slightly when he asked how many people they had slept with.

“Okay but you need to be more specific Mikey. Do you mean exclusively sex like…” She started, before making an okay sign with her left hand and a finger with her right as she made the almost crude depiction of sex. “Or are we including girl on girl action and/or boy on boy action, strictly blow jobs, and all of that too?” Jessica asked without missing a beat, eating another potato chip as she said so.

Ketziah Drake

Ketziah nodded in response to Yara’s questioning tone at the sight of her. “Yeah its me.” She had a look of slight surprise hearing what happened to Candice and shook her head slightly with a sigh. “Wow… I barely knew the girl, but that’s rough… Goes to show you that you never know when it’s the end.” Ketziah honestly had no idea what kind of relationships Candice had with anyone, but she knew it must have been crazy for any of them to have known her and her to die on their prom night. That was certainly one way to make for a memorable prom. Then Yara finally questioned that Ketziah was back, and she nodded with a smile. “For once, I’m copying your cousin, but yeah I’m back. I wanted to come spend some time back home, school and all.”

“We wouldn’t want anyone to know that the Valerie Wood was caught sitting next to and gasp talking to Daniel Parker, now would we?”
She gasped jokingly ”Well for the record I’m siting in front of Daniel Parker, but definitely, that’s like against the laws of nature” she smirked rolling with it. Though thinking about it, that wasn’t necessarily wrong, she and Daniel have pretty much never been in the same room without it resolving in Armageddon clouds of smoke.
“Damn, Aren’t you a cheeky b-stard?”
”Guilty as charged” she chuckled. Not that she was complaining, the change was in a way nice. Discovering she and Daniel can actually get along wasn’t something she ever thought could happen. But spending time him was actually fun, the kind of times that never captivated her attention and distracted her from her problems, which was definitely a good thing.

“Some people think her food taking skills are a travesty. She once stole Prince Harry’s horderves right from his plate. He still isn’t a fan of her,”
”Well damn” she said and raised a brow at the story he just told her ”But the real question is why doesn’t that even surprise me?” she said as the corner of her lip raised up in a smirk holding a small laugh.

“You don’t have to tell me. Just curious. Too many people hate Jessica and me to keep track of anyways,”
”Yeah, though you be fair I’m assuming you actually know why she left but just leaving all your friends without a trace or even saying goodbye isn’t really the kind of thing that make you like a person” She said ”I mean I can’t really judge everyone for being mad. It’s maddening” she added with a shrug. Even now, four years later, she still had no idea why Jessica left, was she curious? Definitely, but did she actually care anymore, not sure.

The barista announced last call, Valerie looked at the time and it was way later than she thought it was. Apparently time really does go by fast when you’re enjoying it.
“Jezebel and I haven’t been close for months and I have my doubts we ever will be again,”
She didn’t know that, for the record she and Jezebel weren’t really close either so she didn’t really know much about her current relationship with Daniel, but it definitely was surprising to hear.
"And… Can’t break up something that was never together,
*”Oh-“ she said raising her brows in surprise, she remembered hearing it, or seeing his post on Instagram, so it did get her somewhat confused ”Wait but I remember seeing it.” she said while thinking, ”Ah, so it was a fake was it?” she asked when she got to a conclusion. She didn’t know why he would fake a relationship, maybe it had something to do with Yara being back but she didn’t really know much about their breakup so she could only assume.

“Just so I know you’ll be eating for tomorrow,”
He said while standing up and handing her the bag with the food. Valerie smiled lightly and took the bag ”Thanks” she said ”Will do” she added with a light chuckle
“Alright, Furball. Say goodbye to the fiesty woman,”
”The real feisty woman here is you isn’t it” she said running her hand through the fur of the hyper little furball
“and…I’ll… maybe see you later then?”
”I-“ she started, noticing once again this situation was completely new to her ”Yeah” she said and smiled, ”Yeah definitely” she said and got up as well, running a hand through her hair. A conversation with Daniel parker that didn’t end in any going to hell, or fcuking off or staying away and never talking again. Yeah, it did start with her calling him out, but that definitely wasn’t how she expected to to end when she started it. And for some reason, she liked that.
