A sigh left his lips as he watched Valerie Wood, his mind going back to a conversation he had a few weeks ago with another girl. One - Candice Clarke. As he drank his coffee, watching her, his mind went back to that very conversation.

~ Flashback ~

“Alright, Roland - I got you a date with Lina two weeks ago. I don’t care if it didn’t work out because you’re not ‘compatible’ that’s a ‘you’ problem. All I care about is the fact that I need a favor unless you want the fact that you failed the 6th grade three times to come out to the student body since we both know you’ve been pretending to be 18 for three years? No? I didn’t think so. Get that information to me by Friday.” Daniel stated into the phone as a shocking guest made his acquaintance. “Candice,” Daniel stated, taking a drink of his coffee as he watched her.

“You owe me,”

“Do I now?” Daniel asked at the directness of the girl as he leaned back against the chair, recalling as he did quite hurt her during his outburst a few months ago when she hadn’t voted points off of him. “Fine, one favor. What do you need Clarke?”

“I need you to help me relocate my modeling money to my own personal bank account without my mother noticing. I’m leaving town on my birthday and I’m… I’m done with my mother.”

~ End of Flashback ~

The raining the night she left and her death - that was unexpected. If she had asked Daniel, he would have told her to wait but she was so damn set on leaving the night she turned 18. Despite that, what Daniel did know was Candice was done with her mother and he was fulfilling her last wish with his actions - despite what other people thought of him. Sure he didn’t like Candice, but even he thought her mother didn’t deserve to get away with a good funeral.

Daniel raised his eyebrow as Val revealed she did notice that Lily-Ann was a cold-hearted b!tch. “I’m not surprised. How’d you get out of that one?” Daniel questioned, “The arrest that is,” Daniel questioned, curiosity filling his features with the question. “Not against Candice, against Dominic” Daniel responded after she asked about his personal vendetta. After all - Daniel wanted it to seem like this was just a usual Parker outburst and not specifically, necessarily against Lily-Ann. After all, his reputation was on the line.

“The some who actually cared about Candice should appreciate that someone, for once, called Lily-Ann out on the sh-t she pulled for years. What I said in place about Candice and Lily’s relationship, it was just the tip of the iceberg. Mourn Candice. Go ahead, but that funeral isn’t the place to mourne your best friend.” Daniel stated before looking at her with a sigh. “Have you eaten?”

“I’m not surprised. How’d you get out of that one? The arrest that is,”
”There’s nothing in this world Lily Ann Collins cares for more than her reputation. I just happen to be related to people she needs to have her on their good side” she explained, even though she didn’t know the exact story but she heard enough from her conversation with Kai to understand generally what could have been the issue.
”Not against Candice, against Dominic"
”How is blaming Candice for Dominic’s sister’s death a vendetta against him? You’re making no sense” she said and put her let over the other one as she rested in her seat.

“The some who actually cared about Candice should appreciate that someone, for once, called Lily-Ann out on the sh-t she pulled for years. What I said in place about Candice and Lily’s relationship, it was just the tip of the iceberg. Mourn Candice. Go ahead, but that funeral isn’t the place to mourne your best friend.”
She didn’t know what to say, she was still mad in a way, but at the same time she also understood what he was saying and didn’t actually find it wrong. It was a weird scenario where both sides make complete sense… was she being a hypocrite for wanting the funeral to go well? Her thoughts wondered for a bit as she looked down at her empty cup
“Have you eaten?”
His question pulled her back out of her thoughts, she looked up at him for a second and shook her head lightly ”I’m not hungry” she said and looked out the window for a momebt, even though she knew inside her she should try eating, but it just didn’t seem like something she wanted to do at that point. There was already too much going on inside her, adding digestion wasn’t really on the top of her bucket list.

Daniel nodded when she talked about connections. “Ahh yes, didn’t know that the Adele connection was going get you far, but apparently LIly-Ann is a fan huh?” Daniel joked, a slight smirk playing upon his lips as she continued about Dom. “I have my reasons, Valerie,” Dan muttered. Really the only reason he had was to ease suspicion of what he was doing. And technically he wasn’t wrong. Some secrets were meant to go to the grave, others weren’t. And Daniel knew for a fact that Candice was planning on talking to Dominic before leaving - mostly because he was convincing her not to.

Oh well.

“I’m not hungry”

At those words, Dan couldn’t help roll his eyes. “Didn’t ask if you were hungry. I asked if you had eaten,” Dan stated - raising his eyebrow though already knowing the answer. “Come on, get up,” Dan sighed - putting his hand out towards the girl as he walked back towards the glass counter of food options. “Pick three things,” Dan stated, watching her look back at him skeptically. “Fine don’t.” Dan sighed, going over to the counter. “I’ll have one of everything please,” Dan stated pointing where the food was. “Heat up what needs to be heated up,” Dan smiled putting his credit card in before she could even say another word. “I suggest you eat some of it before most of it goes to waste,” Dan told the girl as the food started coming out by the pick up section. Though Dan knew whatever wouldn’t be eaten he’d either take back home to Jessica or drive by the homeless shelter and drop off. He wasn’t a complete monster.

“Ahh yes, didn’t know that the Adele connection was going get you far, but apparently LIly-Ann is a fan huh?”
”Clearly everyone wants to be on her good side” she said ”Just can’t risk the concert tickets” she tsk tsked rolling along with it
“I have my reasons, Valerie,”
She sighed, ”I’m not even gonna ask” she said shaking her head slowly with a light eye roll. She definitely was curious, but she also didn’t have the nerves to deal with it, these kinds of stories usually just p^ssed her off.
“Didn’t ask if you were hungry. I asked if you had eaten,”
”So no” she answers
“Come on, get up,” He said and walked of you the counter, waiting for a follow. “Pick three things,”
”Didn’t I say I’m not hungry?” she raised her brow in a bruh- kinda look.
"Fine don’t.” he said and went over to order, buying pretty mich everything that was shown in the glass window before she could even protest against it “I suggest you eat some of it before most of it goes to waste,”
”I-“ she mumbled and looked aside at the food and back at him. Why-. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair ”Thank you.” she said with the lightest of smiles, ”You didn’t have to do that” she said and picked up a cinnamon roll out of the things that came up, taking a bite of it. It was probably the longest amount of time she hasn’t eaten anything, and having something edible in her mouth already felt so odd but never disappointing.
”But why?” she asked ”Aren’t you supposed to hate me or something?” she raised a questioning brow at the boy. For that thing she did when she did that thing and he was there and all, obviously.
This was the real world, they were not even friends.

A slight chuckle left his lips as joked about Adele. “How dare people even think about risking those concert tickets?” Daniel questioned, “Those are absolutely priceless. I hear she encrusts the VIP tickets in gold. Is that right?” Daniel continued. Daniel didn’t know what it was, but every conversation he had with Valerie turned out to be a… generally good one. At least recently. They had obviously had their fair share of fights over the past few years. Whether it be on social media, or in person. But ever since that night in the elevator…

Dan cleared his throat, looking away from her as his eyes went back to the overly excited puppy who was jumping up begging for attention. And, using it as an excuse not to look at her… and the memories that brought back… the way her lips felt… Nope. Nope. We are NOT going there. With that out of his mind… as much as he could… Dan simply played with the dog as he listened to Valerie before he led her over to get her massive amount of food. Usually, only an amount that Jessica could eat.

“You didn’t have to do that,”

“I know” Dan simply stated, asking for a bag when the food started piling up on the counter. A sigh left his lips when she asked the question of why. The real answer… he didn’t exactly know. What he did know is he wasn’t going to let her leave without eating because that was unhealthy. Perhaps in part, he knew there was more to it than that, but it wasn’t something Daniel would necessarily tell her. “How are we supposed to have a fair fight if you haven’t eaten? That would be too easy a win. I do like a challenge,” Dan revealed - bringing the food back to their table as he put it in front of her. “I said you have to eat at least three things,” Dan added, spreading the food back out so she had her pick of options before opening his computer back up, searching for Jessica. Where the hell was she? He swore she was doing this on purpose for what he had done in the morning, but still, it was killing him. Usually, if she was in London he wouldn’t be pulling the protective big brother act as much. But Jessica + DeLoughrey didn’t mix and it wasn’t making him happy. “Come on…” Dan signed as he watched the “searching” bar continuing. His search system using the FBI and CSI’s finest databases… with his own edits to make it more efficient.

“So Kai - your cousin? Color me surprised,” Daniel stated, attempting conversation while she ate - though trying not to stare at her while she was eating as that was considered… rude… something Jessica had taught him from constant kicks under the table.

"How dare people even think about risking those concert tickets?”
”Outrageous I know” she shook her head with a light smirk, surprisingly, even though she care originally mad at him, for some unknown reason she found herself getting in a much better mood once again when she least expected it, even smiling at times even though she was utterly crushed on the inside.
“Those are absolutely priceless. I hear she encrusts the VIP tickets in gold. Is that right?”
”I thought that’s a myth at first but it’s actually true apparently” she said ”or at least it was true in the last tour” she shrugged
“How are we supposed to have a fair fight if you haven’t eaten? That would be too easy a win. I do like a challenge,”
”I’ll still beat you in a fight either way” she said ”But thanks for the food”
They went back to the table and he put the food on it “I said you have to eat at least three things,”
”Someone woke up bossy” she stated with a small smirk and kept on eating
She ate and looked around her, either outside, inside the place or at the guy sitting in front of her. He seemed to be trying to do something on the computer, but from the way he reacted to it, it didn’t seem like it was working too well.
“Come on…”
”Yeah come on computer, let this random guy hack you why are you even objecting” she added sarcastically . She didn’t actually know what he was doing but she assumed he was hacking something, isn’t that what hackers do?
“So Kai - your cousin? Color me surprised,”
”Since birth” she said, ”Unless I’m actually adopted.” she added with a raised brow ”Why are you coloured surprised though?” she asked repeating his words in a way

Daniel smiled as she easily worked jumped off his words to give her own addition. These were the conversations he enjoyed - the ones that felt like they were never ending. But almost in a good way. Daniel was about to add something when Furball ran under the table making, Daniel raise his foot and accidentally touch Val’s let. “Sorry… that’s not me trying to play footsie… I… i promise. Furball’s just being an overactive monster today,” Daniel sighed, glaring at the animal that continued to run around, trying to bite his shoe.

Though his laughter grew as she said she’d beat him in a fight either way. “Really now?” Dan smiled. “Is that a bet? Well, shoot. Give me a topic and let’s debate.” Daniel joked in the midst of her calling him bossy. “Someone has to be - I doubt Brian has the balls…” Dan muttered before realizing what he said. F*ck. He was supposed to be pretending what had happened the other night hadn’t happened. Sh!t. “Ah… Forget what I said,” Dan whispered, bringing his attention back to his computer and trying not to look at her. Though he couldn’t help the laugh that left his lips at her additional words towards his computer. “I’m using the FBI server to find someone if you’re really that curious. Though it’s taking a while to sort through everything,” Dan revealed honestly. If she believed him or not, well that was her choice. “And I’m surprised because Kai and you… have very different personalities. I just didn’t really expect you to be related to Mr. Prim and Proper,” Dan explained looking back over to the girl who was apparently eating a “Cinnamon bun roll” - something he’d never really been a fan of. “So out of all the options you had, why that?” Dan questioned, trying to pull his mind away from the slow computer.

Jezebel Mallory Sloane

Jezebel crying began to lessen as she listened to Jordan sing along with the radio. “Your rendition of any song is pretty good.” Then, as she had responded to him, the radio changed to one of Jordan’s songs. She had only heard it a couple times, but it was different hearing it with him actually there. “Not everything.” Jezebel said in agreement with what Jordan had said. Some things were still just as it was when he left, while so much else had changed, even just recently. She nodded in response to her telling him what was going in as he came around to open the door for her. Jezebel was still upset, not saying much even as they took the elevator up to his floor, mainly trying to not break down completely. They walked into his place, immediately greeted by the two dogs Jordan had, so Jezebel sat down on the couch, petting the dogs of course, as Jordan went to the kitchen and asked her about ice cream and marshmallows. “Chocolate, and surprise me.” She waited for Jordan to come back and said, “Thank you Jordan.” She not only meant it for the sweets, but for picking her up and everything trying to comfort her, and also for not taking her straight home. Her mother was currently home, having gotten back into town only a day earlier, so she knew as soon as she got home there would be a fight about what went down at Daniel’s. “I don’t think I would’ve been able to handle going home…”

“You flatter me too much,” Jordan laughed as she complimented his singing. “I still thinking I sing like a dead parakeet and the music industry is great with autotune,” the man joked. Soon being inside his place, the man nodded at her flavor of choice - picking it out and scooping it into a large bowl - not without adding some caramel drizzle and chocolate chips on top. Once Jordan had made the hot chocolate, putting quite a few marshmellows within each one as he returned to where she was sitting - handing the girl her own cup and bowl as he settled into the couch next to her. “Alright come on, let me induce a sugar coma. You know it’s a specialty,” he grinned taking a sip of his drink she said ‘thank you’ shaking his head almost instantly. “You don’t need to thank me Jez. You needed a friend and I’m doing the sworn duty of a friend by making sure you’re warm and feeding you,” he laughed, though it was soon replaced with a soft frown as she said she probably couldn’t handle staying home. “You don’t have to - stay here as long as you need. You can take my bed, I can sleep on the couch,” Jordan added - knowing Riker had plenty taken up the extra room, though he could probably crash in there as well. “You don’t have to leave until you want to Jezebel.” Jordan added, putting the cup down as he moved closer to her on the couch, putting her hand within his own gently. “You don’t have to tell me anything you don’t want to Jez, but I wouldn’t be doing my duty as your friend if I didn’t ask. What happened? Why were you walking by yourself at…” Jordan started, checking his time. “8 pm?” Jordan questioned, leaning his arm against the couch as he gently moved his thumb across the back of her hand.

Jezebel thought he was better than he thought he was with singing. Auto tune could only do so much anyway. She gave a small smile, trying to wipe some of her tears as Jordan came over and made a comment about a sugar coma. It certainly was specialty with the number of times she’d just had a bad day and he tried making her feel better by giving her sugar. Then as she began to eat the ice cream, Jordan offered for her to stay, and he’d sleep on the couch. “Maybe for tonight? But this is your place, you shouldn’t have to stay on the couch.” She frowned, despite the sweets, as he asked why she had been out walking alone. “It’s… a long story… I know who my father is, I’ve known for years. My mom was the only other person who knew, and I promised her I wouldn’t tell anyone. But Daniel found out, and he hates me for keeping it from him…” Jezebel paused looking down at the ice cream in front of her, then looked to Jordan. “Daniel’s my half brother. He found in December and he’s barely talked to me since.”

“Maybe for tonight? But this is your place, you shouldn’t have to stay on the couch,”

With a slight shake of his head, he gave her a knowing look. “Have you seen this couch? I’ve been dying for an excuse to sleep here,” Jordan joked. In retrospect, it was a comfy couch and if anyone understood that Jordan Williams had slept on worse in the past, it was Jezebel Sloane. “Honestly Jezebel, stay as long as you want. Mi casa es su casa. Not to mention that I still owe you for the time I stayed over in your attic for a month without your family knowing… until that last day,” Jordan sighed. Taking another sip of his hot chocolate, the man carefully listened to her as she told him that she had known who her father was - a shock to him as that was something she had never told him. Though he didn’t blame her… sometimes things were better kept to yourself.

Though shock met his features when she finished her story with the fact that Daniel and her were related. Though it only took a second for everything to connect in his mind. “You know, I knew there was something about you two that seemed familiar,” Jordan smiled though he couldn’t help but frown when he heard that Daniel hasn’t talked to her since December. “Wait but that doesn’t make any sense since Daniel just…” Jordan started, about to say how Daniel was the one who texted him, but if he had wanted Jezebel to know, Daniel would have gone after her himself. “since Daniel just sent me a text about hanging out with a friend… never mind I just assumed it was you,” Jordan corrected himself - which wasn’t necessarily a lie since Dan had told Jordan he was busy later in the day.

Though it saddened him that Daniel hadn’t talked to his own sister in months… almost frustrated Jordan that he’d done so. “Was he why you were crying? Jezebel what the hell did Daniel do?” Jordan asked - a bad feeling setting into his stomach as he asked the question, looking into her eyes. “Please tell me he didn’t make you cry,” the man mumbled.

“Sorry… that’s not me trying to play footsie… I… i promise. Furball’s just being an overactive monster today,”
”I don’t mind, furball is cute I like her” she said and looked down at the doggie and picked her up putting the small creature on her lat petting her. ”There” she said and smiled lightly at furball, she always liked dogs, even though she didn’t have one of her own.
“Really now? Is that a bet? Well, shoot. Give me a topic and let’s debate.”
”Clearly that’s a bet” she said and a small smirk formed on her lips ”just shooting topics like a rapid fire” she added.

“Someone has to be - I doubt Brian has the balls…”
Her brows raised as he mentioned Brian, she somehow remembered telling him that, but she was sure he didn’t remember, or did he? “Ah… Forget what I said,”
”No promises” she said. Valerie herself didn’t expect to remember it, not to mention she didn’t expect him to. But she remembered, and from what she could tell so did he which made everything a lot more complicated as all the memories of the other night started rushing back into her head with a banger ”I have a pretty good memory” she added trying to shrug it off, but did she manage to fool her brain? Probably not.
She remembered it all, but honestly, some part of her didn’t want to. Not that it mattered anyway, but it was just… confusing, in a way.
“I’m using the FBI server to find someone if you’re really that curious. Though it’s taking a while to sort through everything,”
”Oh so you’re also a stalker guy now” she added shaking her head, and took a bite of her food ”Just charming innit”

“And I’m surprised because Kai and you… have very different personalities. I just didn’t really expect you to be related to Mr. Prim and Proper,”
”Well you and Jessica aren’t exactly that similar either” she said with a light shrug ”that’s not how family relation works.” she added and calmingoy ran her free hand through the dog’s fur so she doesn’t go too hyper. ”Kai is great once you get to know him, there’s a lot more than prim and proper”
She explained ”How do you even know him? he’s from New York” she asked
“So out of all the options you had, why that?”
”Well it was right there, and I like the taste of it. That’s pretty much where my reasoning ends” she said and took another bite as the dog raised up to try and reach for her food making her move away and laugh

Like dis kinda

”Okay back to the floor” she said and put furball down, sitting back up and running a hand through her now somewhat messy hair.

Staring at wall, that’s all he could do as he waited for Jessica, or just someone to come back. It felt like he was sitting there alone for an hour and maybe he was, you can’t really track time when you’re in a cell. But that was enough time for him to completely calm down and push back whatever anger he had left. Yes, he was still angry, mad, but being there alone and thinking about what happened helped him collect his thoughts and just calm down. He knew what he said was too much, he knew it wasn’t pretty, it was bad but he needed that to happen so he could breathe. He did cross the line, he was the one to blame for it but it’s not that easy to get an apology out of him.

He looked to the side at the sound of footsteps, soon seeing Jessica again and the moment she joined him in that small room he looked away from her down at his hands. So there they were again, in silence. There was nothing else he could say, nothing he could do but wait to get out and knowing Jessica she would hopefully start talking again and tell him what was happening. Hopefully, yes. Right now, after being alone in that cell for such a long time, even her nonstop talking wouldn’t bother him.
He glanced at her as she sat down on the floor and took off her heels, subtly rolling his eyes before getting up. “Don’t sit on the floor,” she didn’t want to sit next to him, that was his guess so that’s why he stood up and walked to the opposite wall, leaning against it. It wasn’t a problem for him, he’s been sitting there for an hour and he knew how to be a decent person. “It’s cold,” he quietly added, putting his hands in his pockets and keeping his head down.

He was listening to everything she was saying but just didn’t know how to respond. Not even when she mentioned that someone was coming to bail them out, someone he didn’t want her to talk about. It could be his brother or Andy, but it looked like he would just have to wait and see because he didn’t want to have that conversation again. And he didn’t really care, all he wanted was to get out of that place.
A quiet chuckle escaped his lips when she mentioned being right, and while she was right about that she didn’t get any other response from him. Until she mentioned Anna. Dorian simply looked up at her, his face emotionless. If things weren’t the way they were, he would clear that up for her and tell her it was all just a huge mistake and misunderstanding, that he’d never dated her sister. And he didn’t get why she was mentioning that now when she was dating his brother. “I’m being a hypocrite?” With a confused look, he quietly asked, this time not showing anger or anything. It really was just a simple question. “Aren’t you dating my brother now? And that was… it was something.” That was all he could say as he looked away from her again, shrugging his shoulders. “It was a year ago, just forget about it,” a weak smile appeared on his lips and he remained silent, not wanting to talk about that when it was just a big lie.

But soon he heard footsteps again making him look towards the bars only to see two very familiar faces. And as he was happy that someone was coming to save them, he was disappointed by her choice. Not just because of what she said earlier but because the two of them weren’t really… the best fit for the bailing out job. Which was soon proven. The door behind them locked, meaning they were now stuck with them. “Really?” Dorian sighed as he sat down on the floor. “Yeah, it’s me, surprise,” He almost sarcastically chuckled, only annoyed with what happened and not with Andy. Well, maybe a bit. This only meant Dorian would have to sit there and look at the beautiful friendships Jessica wanted to keep even when she was gone. “You really called them? How didn’t you expect this would happen?” Dorian almost whined, referring to the current situation. “So what now?” His brows furrowing as he watched Mikel pulling out a bar and handing it to beautiful Jess.

Jessica’s eyes met Dorian’s as he told her to not sit on the floor. Though, Jess stayed unwavering. Perhaps it was the stubbornness in her. Was she cold? Slightly but right now, she was still too frustrated with Dori to give him anything, so she stayed still. “Apparently I have a cold heart, so it doesn’t really matter,” she mumbled, staring him dead in the eyes as she said the words. Though a slight laugh met her annoyed expression when he mentioned his brother. “Dylan?” Jess questioned as she hugged her chest to gather a little bit of warmth. With those words, she had realized that Dorian hadn’t stayed for the whole reveal that they were pranking his parents. “We’re not dating, Dorian,” Jess mumbled with a sigh. “It was a joke on your parents because of the comments they make at every single dinner about us being together and we both wanted it to stop. But I’m glad you and Anna were happy,” Jess revealed, looking away from him the instant she said that.

Unwilling to spend another millisecond talking to Dorian, Jessica Pierce’s eyes had fluttered closed, her shoes off and scattered on the floor in front of her, as her head leaned against the bars once again – this time embracing the cold. She was doing the one thing that would allow her to shut up in closed confinement with someone – spend the time thinking. One may wonder what she was thinking of – though, with Jessica Pierce, a better question was usually what was she not thinking about? Her mind truly was an intriguing thing – only comparable to that of Daniel Parker. Less so intricate than Danny’s, however, though Jessica’s mind still moved at a million miles per minute. Nevertheless, It was something she had gotten used to… mostly. There were a few memories she would have rather forgotten… but alas, that wasn’t how her brain functioned. This time, her mind had fluttered back to the very night she left… which was, ironically, the first time in a long time that she had thought about that. Though with the way Jess’ mind worked, if she thought about it – she found herself back fully immersed in the memory of her past. Reliving every word, every moment, how the scenery appeared, how the weather against her skin, and even the feelings running through her mind at that moment. Every single thing rushed back in her as if it had just happened – a hellish feeling when it was something as emotionally draining as the night she left. Perhaps it was the proximity with her past. With Dorian, the DeLoughrey’s, hell, this whole place in general. After all, It was so much easier forgetting when she wasn’t propped right in the middle of her old life.

~Flashback~

Light rain dripped down the crisp August evening. Could she even call it evening anymore? Not really – it was 2:21 AM and Jessica had just snuck out of Mikel Lucas’ bed who had fallen into a deep slumber soon after they had finished their… honestly, awkward night. Jessica laid on the grass in front of Daniel Parker’s house, her mind filled with thoughts of what she had to do in the next few minutes. Sooner or later, at least. Perhaps if anyone saw her at that moment, they would have screamed at her to get inside, though, she didn’t want to. She enjoyed the rain – mingling in between the slight tears gathering in her eyes – a rare occurrence as Jessica Pierce never cried. At least, no one had ever seen her cry. The way the stars looked that night helped calm her momentarily, though she knew sooner or later the girl needed to get up and go. Disappear without a trace. It was… just easier that way. The alternative just became so… difficult. She had tried to get into contact with Andy earlier that day, though he had been unreachable, so after a few calls - she gave up. Perhaps that’s why she went to Mikel and for a moment, he provided comfort within his arms. Dorian, however, was off-limits, his date with Kara on the edge of her mind – recalling as she had… in a way… seen the two when she stopped by his house hours earlier. The lights in his room off, though it was obvious through the shadows that there were two people in there. Perhaps if it had been another night, things would have been different. One where Andy had picked up her call. Or one where Dorian hadn’t been indisposed.

Though, after a few more moments of her mind in overdrive, thinking of all the ‘what if’ scenarios – Jess pulled her body off the floor – mostly drenched with water simply for the sheer amount of time she had spent within the light rain. With that, Jess made her way to the Parker Family helicopter where the pilot was patiently waiting for her. “Thank you…” Jess mumbled, taking a seat inside as the man looked at her. ”Are you ready?”

The words rang in her ears as she looked back at the man, stilling for a moment. “I… wait,” Jess revealed – walking back outside one last time as she pulled her phone out – looking at a number that was saved under favorites: Dorian DeLoughrey. A slight sigh left her lips as she pressed the number, putting it up to her ear as she hoped for a live response… or maybe… deep down she hoped he wouldn’t pick up the call at all. Well, that wish was granted as a robotic voice soon met her ear about leaving a voicemail after the beep and another sad sigh escaped her mouth the moment she could speak. Though Jessica Pierce didn’t know exactly what to say… or hell… even what she wanted to say – the words simply left her lips as they usually did. Without thought.

” I have to do something that I really don’t want to do Dori… I need someone to stop me or talk me out of it… or just bloody say it’s going to be okay… Please just stop me because if you don’t… I don’t think we’ll ever see each other again.”

The words painfully left her lips as she ran her hands through her wet hair, sitting down on the concrete, her arms hugging her legs, as she continued to speak. ” God… look at me, I’m such a mess. But honestly, I’m always a mess huh? I mean, you’ve seen me in the mornings, right? A bloody freaking mess 24/7.…” A slight laugh left her lips at the words. If there was something Jessica could do, it was make the worst situations into a joke. At least he’d appreciate that much… hopefully. *” Well damn… that moved off-topic fast… anyways… “I just… I wanted to say I’m sorry. Just know that I’m sorry Dori… and I… I love you.”

A deep breath of relief left her lips at the last three words. Maybe she meant it in the way that their friendship had meant to her… maybe it was the start of something more that would never happen. Deep in her heart, she knew it was the latter, but either way, she needed to say those three words to him. Even if it would never be to his face. Damn it. Maybe she really shouldn’t be saying any of this. He was with Kara now. He was happy. But she couldn’t stop herself. Though… she never really could stop herself when she started talking ” Honestly, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you since that kiss at the party.” She mumbled, her mind going back to the party they had been to a few weeks prior, just the two of them, where they both ended up in the closet somehow pressed into a game of 7 minutes in heaven. Maybe it was because Jessica was tipsy, maybe it was something else – but what neither of them had expected was the two to actually make out in that room. Not with both of them being in committed relationships at the time. Dorian with Kara, Jess with Lyonrad. Though she and Lyonrad had only lasted so long, her breaking up with him that very morning. “I know I said I didn’t remember it but… I just thought it would be better for both of us that way. Maybe I always knew it was something more but I kept kidding myself to protect Elo. To protect you… and me. Fvck. What the hell am I even saying anymore. God that got sappy fast. You know I’m not a sappy person… damn it.” she muttered in slight hysteria, wiping yet another tear streaming down her eye as she said the words.

” So… the weather’s pretty nice – you know I always loved the rain. How about the red socks. What was that again? American football or something? Honestly, I don’t even know. Baseball maybe?” Laughter once again left her lips as she said god knows what into the phone – just filling space now. “I… well this voicemail is probably going to cut me off soon. I honestly don’t even know if I’m going to send it but I’ll leave it at this if I do… Goodbye Dori. I’m going to miss you. And I swear you bloody w-nker… if you miss that next goal at your football game, I’m going to metaphorically slap you across the head…” she let out as her final few words. Though after a small pause, the last two words left her mouth, hurting her heart ever so slightly as something deep inside of her knew it may be the last time. “Bye Love.”

With that, Jessica hung up the call. Closing her phone as she looked at it for the next few minutes – unmoving. Though after about ten minutes, Jessica stood up for the final time, throwing the device on the ground knowing she would no longer need it before entering the plane. Checking her watch, Jessica nodded at the pilot. “It’s time, I’m ready”

And with that – she was gone. Flown to the private airlift where Jessica’s family plane was waiting, soon boarded by Jess with no plans of ever fully returning.

~End of Flashback~

Her eyes only fluttered back open at a familiar voice, bringing her out of the daydream she was having. As her eyes opened, her head returning to the present, Jessica tried to get her heart beat to calm down – her mind having been fully immersed in the memory of before. Though it wasn’t hard to fully find herself back when she saw Andy – confusion present in her features to why he, and Mikel, were in there with them. ”Well… anyway that plan didn’t go well,” Jess raised her eyebrows as she stood up, pulling the idiot in for a tight hug as it had been the first time she had actually seen him in two and a half months. Sure, the two had talked after what she had learned about Dan and what he’d done to Andy, but they hadn’t yet seen each other. So, she stayed in that position, her arms pulling his tall body closer towards her own, as her legs wrapped around his torso – completely immersing him in the hug. After a few minutes, though it felt like a lifetime, Jess mumbled “You’re an absolute idiot w*nker,” in his ear, though not pulling away for a long time after the words had left her lips. Though the moment she did pull away, she smacked him across the head and pulled Mikel in for a hug, kissing him on the cheek as he handed her a chocolate bar. “You’re also an idiot,” she signed, “But yes, I missed you too, you dumb knucklehead,” she mumbled, hitting him across the head as well.

With that, Jessica leaned against the wall – not even giving Dorian the effort of her time – as she looked at her two friends, ignoring Dorian’s words about calling them. “Now, you two nuggets, tell me what the bloody f*ck happened to bailing me out and how come all I got was a chocolate bar? You’ve known me for how long? And you decided THIS was all you’d sneak past security for me?” Jess questioned with a slight laugh as she opened the packet up and started eating it. Hey – melted or not, this was still chocolate. “Let me guess,” Jess stated after a bite of the candy. “You’re both drunk?” Jess asked. “I can smell it, you idiots. Why didn’t you just tell me you were wasted on the phone? I would have called Yara or hell, even Dylan.”

Out of all the people Andy would have expected to see in a jail cell with Jessica, Dorian wasn’t even on the list anymore. For all he knew they had a fallout, he didn’t know they were friends again. Or by the way she sat on the floor on the opposite side of him and neither of them was looking at the other… maybe not.
“Yeah, it’s me, surprise,”
”Don’t get too excited” he said commenting on the obvious sarcasm in dorian’s tone
*“You’re an absolute idiot wnker,” *
He smiled as Jessica came up and hugged him, we was glad they were friends again, he missed her, she was one of the most important people in his life. being mad at her was definitely not easy, but at the same time she was one of the only people who could actually hurt him.
”And you’re a short bean.” he said with a smirk ”Missed you too idiot” he said with a small snorted chuckle and gave that short creature he missed so much a small kiss on the head. She wasn’t actually short, but compared to him or Mikel, everyone was short.

“You really called them? How didn’t you expect this would happen?”
”Says the guy we came to bail out” he said and raised his brow ”Non of us are in a place to judge”
”so what now?”
”Now we call someone else obviously” He said and rested his back against the wall. Dorian seemed to be annoyed with him, which was understandable but he also didn’t like the attitude and definitely wasn’t in the mood for that.
”Now, you two nuggets, tell me what the bloody fck happened to bailing me out and how come all I got was a chocolate bar? You’ve known me for how long? And you decided THIS was all you’d sneak past security for me?”
”I had more food but that jerk took it” he said referring to the cop who brought them in, officer whittle who andy was pretty sure even the other cops didn’t like.
“Let me guess, You’re both drunk? I can smell it, you idiots. Why didn’t you just tell me you were wasted on the phone? I would have called Yara or hell, even Dylan.”
”I’m not wasted ” he said at her question and shoved his hands in his pockets, he was just drunk enough to be considered drunk but not necessarily drunk enough to numb the pain. ”Mikey though… different story” he shrugged looking over at Mikel for a sec ”That’s just how it works” he said

“I don’t mind, furball is cute I like her”

“You don’t mind the accidental footsie or just furball in general?” Daniel joked, fully expecting the girl to kick him as he watched her pick the little rascal up off the floor. Daniel wasn’t really a big fan of small dogs and honestly, the only reason he had adopted her was because of a comment Elodie had made when they had found the little girl abandoned when he took the girl out to eat. So Danny had taken her in, cleaned her up, gotten her all the shots she needed and at that point, the little girl had found her place with Dan’s other dogs so he thought what the hell, might as well keep her.

Though his smile only grew when she was up for the challenge. “Alright - controversial topics here we go. Thoughts on universal healthcare, prison reform, taxing the rich?,” Daniel questioned, looking at her with his eyebrow raised. Of course, he had his own viewpoints on each of these subjects - America’s healthcare system sucked ass, the prison, and justice system was broken, and tax the hell out of the rich - ironic since he was in that category of the rich but it was better them than people who couldn’t afford it - but he almost wondered what she thought. “Here’s a hard one. Thoughts about me?” Daniel questioned - leaning against the seat as he watched her. “Feel free to say I’m an awful guy - I probably won’t debate you on that since I agree,”.

A sigh left his lips with her words of “No promises,” though Daniel didn’t really add on to it - not wanting to give any more indication of what he remembered. It was exactly why he was happy the conversation moved onto his stalking. “How do you know I’m not trying to find a serial killer on the run?” Daniel asked, his eyebrows raised as he watched her. He wasn’t, but still. Jessica did have a way of hiding better than most serial killers anyway. Her and always letting her damn phone die.

“Yeah yeah, I know. Cousins don’t have to be that similar but still. I don’t know. You two are just stark opposites. Jess and I at least have a similar sense of humor. I just… don’t see it, you know.” Daniel stated, leaning his head against his hand as he watched her. He smiled softly when she asked him how he knew Kai, “How do I know anyone, Valerie? I know about everyone who enrolls at school. Perks of being a hacker extraordinaire and getting a file on anyone who transfers - including Kai.” Daniel stated. Though, in retrospect, that wasn’t the only reason Daniel knew Kai’s name. But… that was better left alone. His clientele list wasn’t really something he discussed.

“A girl who knows what she likes - love to see it,” Daniel smiled as furball tried to get a taste of her food. “Why are you such a Jessica,” He mumbled towards the dog. “I literally just fed her,” he added with a sigh before sneaking something from the pile of food down to the dog once again. “So… how do you feel about Jessica coming back? I know most people are annoyed or p^ssed.”

"Just a thought. It doesn’t actually matter.” He was right, it didn’t matter, but it was something to think about. There was no point in dwelling over it or anything though, but it was just something that she would probably wonder about as she tried to sleep at night.

"You know what, you’re right. I think I won’t go in… maybe.” She could tell he wasn’t certain, and she didn’t want to be the reason that he regretted not seeing Candice for the last time. “Listen, it’s totally up to you. I think you can say your goodbyes wherever, but maybe it’ll be better for you if you go in. See her before they put her in the ground.” Was that too blunt? She hoped that she wasn’t being too blunt. Some people were really fragile during these sad events, and some people would not take that quip well. Aline didn’t mean it as a joke or anything similar though, she was just being honest. “I don’t want you to regret not going in.”

"Noted. Thanks, really.” She smiled easily, glancing at him as he smiled to the ground. “Of course, we’re not gonna let your birthday just pass. It’s gonna be a great day for you, and I promise that.” Aline squeezed his arm, nodding slightly.

”Yes exactly. I’m not sweet though.” Question marks floated through her mind. What did he mean by that? Gio was practically synonymous with the word sweet—his face was probably next to the word in the dictionary. “Uh? Yeah you are, you’re one of the sweetest guys I know.” He really was. She couldn’t imagine him ever hurting anything on purpose.

"”It’s okay. Maybe you see me pretty much all the time but we haven’t secretly eloped I promise.” She laughed along with him. “If you guys secretly eloped I might just murder you both. Better take me on that Vegas trip as your witness I swear.” She grinned, chuckling.

@CerealKiller  ok I will be less busy for the upcoming week if this day still doesn’t change lmaoo

“You don’t mind the accidental footsie or just furball in general?”
”Guess” she said and playfully kicked his leg, which wasn’t unexpected, in a way he kinda called for it:

“Alright - controversial topics here we go. Thoughts on universal healthcare, prison reform, taxing the rich?,”
”Brexit” she said, ”No not really. Fcuk it”
“Here’s a hard one. Thoughts about me? Feel free to say I’m an awful guy - I probably won’t debate you on that since I agree,”
Well, sh!t.
”Well-“ she said caught off guard by the question. Honestly, she didn’t know what her opinion about Daniel was anymore, especially not now. If he would have asked her that a week ago she would have agreed saying he’s an awful guy and that she hated him without even blinking, but now… she wasn’t even sure she hated him anymore.
Yes, he was flawed, very flawed, and the amount of time she wanted to kick him in the balls was very high. but at the same time, some part of her didn’t believe he was just a bad person and that’s just it, there was more behind it, and in a way, he sometimes reminded her a lot of herself. Not that she liked herself, but feeling relatability was potentially kind of nice… ”I… don’t think you’re an awful guy” she said, was she sure about it? no, but she did say it, and she didn’t tend to lie often, so at least a part of her believed that. ”I mean you do have many d!ck behaviour moments, but I don’t think you’re a bad person per say” she added

“How do you know I’m not trying to find a serial killer on the run?”
”Clearly because you aren’t” she said ”Are you?” she raised a questioning brow at him trying to prove a point
*“Yeah yeah, I know. Cousins don’t have to be that similar but still. I don’t know. You two are just stark opposites. Jess and I at least have a similar sense of humor. I just… don’t see it, you know.”
”Yeah” she nodded ”I like Kai, were different but there’s also similarities at some things, he’s pretty much my favorite relative” she added
“How do I know anyone, Valerie? I know about everyone who enrolls at school. Perks of being a hacker extraordinaire and getting a file on anyone who transfers - including Kai.”
”Hacker extraordinaire” she repeated his words elongating them ”Sounds like a title you’d print out on a personalised gift mug” she said ”So basically, you know him from being a stalker guy. I keep getting my point proven”

“A girl who knows what she likes - love to see it,”
”Part of the charm innit” she said, partially joking but also not really.
Valerie chuckled lightly as Daniel called furball ’a Jessica’. It wasn’t something she’s heard being used as a noun before even though she could totally agree on the Jessicaness of that behaviour. “So… how do you feel about Jessica coming back? I know most people are annoyed or p^ssed.”
”Um… not really excited about it honestly,” she said, and it was really an understatement. She hasn’t seen Jessica in a while now, but she honestly wasn’t looking forward to doing so. For reasons she preferred to keep to herself, because for once Daniel parker isn’t aware of things, especially when they’re related to Jessica. But generally speaking, having Jessica come back wasn’t exactly on the top of the things she wished for her senior year. But it happened anyway ”but its happening so I’ll just have to deal with that” she shrugged

“Listen, it’s totally up to you. I think you can say your goodbyes wherever, but maybe it’ll be better for you if you go in. See her before they put her in the ground. I don’t want you to regret not going in.”
He nodded lightly as he listened, she was right, but at the same time he wasn’t sure he even wanted that. Going in and seeing her like that, laying there all fixed up as if she was in the middle of her beauty sleep. But they never really looked asleep, they looked dead, because they were. Dead.
”Maybe” he said ”I don’t think seeing her would help, she’s still going to be dead” he added, and besides, they weren’t even that close, he could live on without seeing her one last time.

“Of course, we’re not gonna let your birthday just pass. It’s gonna be a great day for you, and I promise that.”
”Don’t promise stuff” he said. Why promise something you don’t know you’re gonna fulfil? What if he and Lui broke up? In that case he didn’t see Aline staying friends with him even if he wanted her to. His birthday was still not close, a lot could change in a few months… ”It’s alright” he added smiling lightly.

”Uh? Yeah you are, you’re one of the sweetest guys I know.”
”That’s because guys are mostly sh!t” he said ”I’m gay as hell and I still say that. But thanks” he added with a light smile on his lips ”I appreciated that”
“If you guys secretly eloped I might just murder you both. Better take me on that Vegas trip as your witness I swear.”
He laughed at her reply ”Yes ma’am” he said ”VIP Vegas tripper witness” he titled her jokingly

“It’s better than a park bench, thats for sure” The couch was certainly comfortable, but that didn’t mean she wanted to force him to sleep on the couch instead of his bed. “And you don’t owe me for that.” Him staying with her for that month was part of how she fell for him in the first place. Although, she did still feel a little bad for that day her grandparents kicked him out so abruptly. She really did appreciate Jordan letting her stay for as long as she needed though. It didn’t exactly help with her confusing feelings, but it meant a lot. She could see Jordan’s shock as she told him not only knew who her father was, but that she was Daniel’s sister. It would be a surprise to anyone, especially to Jordan as probably the only person who knew nearly as much as Daniel did about her, which was almost everything there was to know. There was a very short list of things that she had never said to Jordan, that being one. She just nodded as Jordan spoke and asked if Daniel was the reason she was crying. “He lied to me and said we could talk things out.” She paused, more tears building in her eyes. “But he just wanted to hurt me by telling his parents, and giving me back everything from years of friendship…”
