Plopping another popcorn into his mouth, Daniel simply watched Jezebel Sloane with intrigue - seeing how she was responding to the big reveal. “So what were you saying before? Nothing I can do could make you feel any worse than you already do? So… How’d I do?” Daniel questioned, the room quiet as it was only the two of them left. His staff had sensed the hostility and left the four (now two) alone a few minutes earlier. Daniel raised his eyebrow as she spoke, lying about how she just wanted a friend. Though that part of him inside that had been eating up at him for the past few months only got stronger, Daniel simply pushed it right back down - where it continued to fester in private. “Boo hoo, Jezebel. Life sucks. You’ll get over it,” Daniel muttered, looking at his dog. “Scout, come,” Daniel stated - though the dog disregarded his words and stayed with Jezebel. “Arse,” The man muttered, looking back up at Jezebel. “… and how could I? Really Jez? Let’s be honest - you don’t know me anymore. And I certainly never knew you. Not from the moment you decided to be friends with me.” Daniel stated, looking at her for a second before getting up from his seat. “Do you want me to show you the door out. Or have you been here enough times to know where you’re headed? The car’s still outside running waiting for you. I told my driver you wouldn’t be long.” Daniel stated before holding his hand up.

“Actually one sec,” Dan mumbled - disappearing for a few moments before returning with a box full of things that were Jezebels’, or that Jezebel had gotten him over the years - all the way down to their 5th-grade friendship bracelets and photos of the two of them together. Daniel truly wanted nothing to remind himself of her anymore. “Take this with you,” Dan smiled, placing the box on the table before opening the door open. “Feel free to grab the popcorn too on your way out. After all… what an exciting little day we’ve had. See you… well… never again.”

Jessica Pierce should have expected this. Sooner or later, at least, someone was going to scream at her. She just… hadn’t expected it to be Dorian DeLoughrey. No - she really had just expected him to stay p^ssed in silence. Maybe a few crude remarks as he had been doing over the past few hours or so. But a complete outburst? No, she hadn’t expected that. So instead of saying anything; Jessica just stood there - watching him from where she was standing as he screamed. From telling her to shut up, to telling her that she was in ‘America’ and she needed to use the correct lingo. An Ignorant b@stard he was.

In any usual situation, Jessica would have defended herself to the death. And she had, in the past. Her arguments were known around London - even arguing with the Prime Minister about a few of his past actions that hurt the public. Though she wasn’t an idiot - she made her points and backed them up with proof. But right now, the only reason she had to why she did what she did - she couldn’t tell Dorian. Not that she would want to with the way he was acting anyways. So, instead of arguing with him, Jessica stayed eerily quiet. Though she couldn’t help but roll her eyes at his ‘stop looking at me like that comment,’ a scoff leaving her lips. “What? With disappointment?” Jess mumbled under her breath. Because, in all honesty, she was dissapointed. Disappointed that a guy she used to consider her best friend turned out like… like that. Like a f*cking assh0le.

And then, THEN he had the AUDACITY to blame her for being in here. Really? God, he was way over his head and giving himself a little too much credit. But what really hurt her was when he said “And after four years you think you can come back just like that and act as nothing happened?” her eyes fluttering closed, attempting to hide how hurt she felt, as he continued yelling, talking about how she should call Dan. She stayed like that, for a while. No longer listening to what he was saying as her mind was trying to calm herself down before she did something she regret. But it didn’t help. Her eyes opened slowly as she met Dorian’s eyes once more, soon walking over to where he was leaning against the bars.

“You have no right,” Jessica mumbled, “To ever talk to me like that.” She stated, her voice full of emotional strife. She was completely p^ssed and that much anyone could see. With that, Jessica couldn’t help but push the idiot, anger seething from her voice. “You can be as p^ssed off as you want at me Dorian, hate me I don’t bloody care anymore. But don’t you ever pretend like it’s not hard for me to be here. I’m pretending? Really? You really bloody think I’m pretending like I didn’t leave for four years. God Dorian. How dense are you? Do you think I actually want to be here where almost everyone hates my guts? Including you?” Jessica yelled pushing him again - though she doubted it was doing anything to the idiot.

“And you. Out of everyone who bloody hates me, you really have the audacity? After you were the only f*cking person that I called that night, which clearly was a bloodly mistake I-…” Jess mumbled putting her hands through her hair, realizing what she had said - something she’d tried to forget about over the last four years. “You know what, just forget about all of it Dorian. It doesn’t even matter anymore, it’s not like you cared then and I doubt you give a sh!t now. The minute we get out of here, we can go back to never talking again okay?” Jess mumbled, walking away from him as she went towards the doors. “Do you mind if I get my call now?” Jess questioned the officer, not even looking back at Dorian as she physically couldn’t without slapping the as$hole, which she was really trying to avoid. A small breath of relief left her lips as the officer opened the door and escorted Jessica to the old 90s phone that they were allowed to use.

“Ten minutes”

Jess nodded, looking at the dial-up as she tried to figure out who to call. Sure, she could do as Dorian said and call Dan but she’d learned her lesson there. So instead, she called the one person who could honestly make her feel better no matter what was going on - his phone number having been memorized since the moment she put it into her phone.

Andy McAllister. A sigh left her lips when the device told her to state her full name so the person on the other end could “decide” to pick up or not. Instead, though, Jessica stated. “I swear to god McNugget if you don’t pick up” as she waited, still attempting to come down from the yelling fest she had just had.

With the way he acted, Dorian expected this would end badly, at least worse than it did. She had the right to be mad, he couldn’t deny that, especially after his outburst that he… doesn’t really regret. It was good for him. Good to just… talk about what was on his mind and not pretend he doesn’t care about those things, when he really does. He expected she would say something to him, he expected she would push him, slap him, just something… So he couldn’t help and smile when she finally pushed him for the first time. He was already irritated enough so that didn’t bother him that much. Wow, a girl was mad so she pushed him. It was quite entertaining actually so with a chuckle, he quietly commented, “Come on, you can do better.”

”After you were the only fcking person that I called that night, which clearly was a bloodly mistake I-…”*
But that… that made even his sarcastic smile turn into a slight frown. A frown she wasn’t supposed to see because he had to pretend he didn’t know what she was talking about.
That was topic he desperately wanted to avoid because what she was saying was true. Jessica did leave him a message before she left, but he had no idea… Until a month ago he really did believe she left without attempting to say goodbye, without one word… but then he accidentally found her voicemail from 4 years ago, archived in his phone.

Flashback, one month ago

It was a very calm night, after a soccer practice and Dorian was with his teammates that still… actually… tolerated him. Of course, it wasn’t the whole team, just a few guys and he appreciated that - appreciated that he still had them by his side, that they didn’t give up on him, didn’t completely start ignoring everything he was saying, and acted like they weren’t a team. Because that’s what he cared the most about now - soccer and his team, even if they absolutely despised him. And he felt good at that moment, happy, as they were sitting at the first fast food place they found, sharing way too many fries and talking about the practice they just had, talking about girls and most random things, things you’d expect teenage boys would talk about. He was just smiling at them for a second, appreciating that very moment, the one he doesn’t experience that often before someone mentioned the last party they went to which only caused them all to burst into laughter. “Dude, I honestly don’t remember what I’ve sent you but I’m sorry, just don’t show-“, Taylor leaned back in his seat, laughing as he was slowly running his fingers through his hair, his eyes glued on Dorian. “Don’t show anyone? Ok, let’s see what you were doing at that party,” a playfully smile appeared on Dorian’s lips, reaching for his phone that was in the pocket of his jacket. He remembers Taylor sending him a voicemail that night, and from the very first second of it he could tell Taylor was wasted. And he wasn’t surprised. “I’m glad I wasn’t there with you, damn,” Dorian said through a laugh, listening to voicemail with his friends as Taylor’s cheeks were slowly turning red, but he wasn’t mad. No, he was laughing with them. As the guys continued joking about it, Dorian kept scrolling hoping there were more voicemails from Tyler so they could tease him for a bit longer… Well, until he saw something that left him confused and shocked in a second. He had to blink a few times in case his mind was playing tricks on him but it wasn’t. It wasn’t and he wished it was. “Give me a second,” Dorian mumbled as he abruptly stood up from the table and without saying anything else walked away from the group. “Who is it now? Hey, I just remembered one girl was asking about you,” he heard their voices but ignored them, letting the door close behind him as he rushed out of the restaurant to the half-empty parking lot. It was a very starry night, a clear night with no clouds, not something Dorian usually pays attention to or cares about but now he did as his mind went blank for a couple of seconds, refusing to believe in what he was seeing.

There was an archived voicemail he never noticed before. He wasn’t even the one who archived it which made the whole thing more mysterious but his heart dropped when he saw the date and who it was from. It was a voicemail from four years ago and even if it said it was from “not important” he knew exactly who it was. He was the one that changed Jessica’s name to “not important”, after all. It was an old number he still had on his phone and didn’t delete… just in case. So now, he was just staring at that long voicemail, from the date he remembers so clearly. Of course, he remembers the exact date she left town. Country. He remembers calling her that night but she never picked up, he blamed it on being so late so he went to bed. He wanted to tell her all about his date with Kara, at least that’s what he thought he wanted to tell her. She was still his best friend and she would be happy for him even after the… that one night, right? But everything changed the next morning when he called her again… and again… and again, and she never picked up. Not the day after. Not the week after. A month… That’s when he stopped. If she really wanted to get away from them all she was doing one bloody good job. And God knows how many nights he’s spent just staring out of his window, hoping she would show up. And she never did, not to this day. He hasn’t heard her voice in four years. Four very long years and you’d think he’d never get over his best friend just leaving him with no explanation. Of course, he never got over it but it was easier to pretend he did so he didn’t have to explain how hurt he still was. And he started hating her for that. He started hating her for that so much. Such passionate hate. But not her, as he likes to think, he hated what she did.

Dorian felt like he spent an eternity just staring at his phone, thorn between listening to it and completely deleting it because if it was important she would’ve reached out to him. She would’ve said… something. Anything. One word, that’s all he needed. But he did it, he started listening to it after taking a deep breath in. “I have to do something that I really don’t want to do Dori…” The first thing he heard. Her voice. His whole body was quickly covered with goosebumps realising that everything was… It was his fault. He couldn’t even focus on what else she was saying, his mind racing and before he knew it, the voicemail was over with her saying “Bye. Love.” You know that saying “a weight is off your shoulders”? Well, in his situation the weight just fell on his shoulders and he sat down on the edge of the sidewalk, staring at his phone, not knowing how to feel or what to think. Not knowing how to process everything. Playing the voicemail again, he put his phone down on the grown and rested his elbows on his knees, intertwining his fingers over his lips.

“I don’t think we’ll ever see each other again.”
“Just know that I’m sorry.”
“I love you.”
“I know I said I didn’t remember it but…”

Words that kept repeating in his head over and over again as his eyes were glued to the ground. Hearing that hurt more than when she left, if that was possible. And just like her words that were repeating in his head, he played the voicemail for at least 10 more times. And even more. Pausing after every word. He was feeling all kind of emotions - he was mad at himself, he was disappointed in himself, he was sad, devastated, happy that she actually left him a message…. She actually left him a message. That was the hardest thing to think about. All this time he was thinking she didn’t even bother to say goodbye to him but she did, and he was the one who missed that and messed it all up. She left him a message - a thought that brought a smile and a frown to his face. Things could’ve been different now if he only heard that voicemail that night. But he didn’t and everything was his fault now. He could’ve told her everything he wanted to say, what she actually said in it but he didn’t because he didn’t know. He could’ve told her he was feeling the same way, that he also thought there was something more between them. That he couldn’t stop thinking about her which she wouldn’t like because he was with someone else at that time. That if she left he wouldn’t only lose his best friend but someone he was starting to love. A short chuckle escaped his lips, remembering the way she acted after that party, claiming she couldn’t remember anything when she did. Such a Jessica move. But it was quickly replaced with a sigh as he rubbed his eyes he could feel were starting to… water. He was feeling bad for doing something she couldn’t remember but she does. And it meant something to her. But that doesn’t matter to her anymore and it probably never will again.

The next hard part was going back inside and coming up with a story to why he was gone for so long. Mentioning the voicemail was not something he was planning to do. He didn’t even want to mention it to her if they ever talk again. Because he learned how to live without her, how to be good with only himself and it wouldn’t make any difference. He was too hurt to forgive her for leaving even if he was the one to blame for how things ended.

End of flashback

“What the hell are you talking about,” furrowing his brows, he tried to act confused, like he had no idea what she was talking about while actually… he was hurt. Even if it’s been a month he still didn’t know how to act or what to think about it. How to deal with it. So he tried to keep that confused act and just let her talk, hoping she wouldn’t mention it again because this was not the place for that conversation. And luckily she did, but she also quickly left him and went to make a call.
He should’ve be happy she was out of his sight, even for ten minutes but he kept looking in that direction, letting out a sigh he’s been holding in for a long time.

Andy didn’t care, he has too much going through his head, all he wanted was something to shut them away, a distraction from the storm going on inside him.
He was on a one way express train to the city of self destruction, population- 3. Andy, Vodka, and mistakes.
He tried whatever he could think of, even though non of his ideas were good for him or legal whatsoever, but he wasn’t thinking clearly, even before he started drinking which only made thinking clearly a lot harder.
Breaking stuff definitely helped though, taking his frustration out on a stupid old crap pile of metal and glass.
But not too long has passed before something, his phone, pulled him back into reality.
It was a call from an unknown number, so he picked it up to see who it was,
This is a call from the Precinct 13 County Jail for…
He raised his brow in confusion, the jail?
I swear to god McNugget if you don’t pick up
Jessica?
He turned to Mikel ”It’s Jessica.” he said and looked at the phone, not sure what to do. He didn’t really have the best history with Jessica and jails, he’s barely even been out for much since the last time, he didn’t want to go through it again…
”Should I answer?” he asked, but inside him he knew he’ll answer. Jessica was one of the things he won’t just leave in a tough situation like nothing, even if he was mad at her even if she was mad at him, he’d never do that. ”I’m answering” he said and accepted the call
”McNugget here, precinct 13 county jail thought?” he raised his brow ”What did you do this time that should have been videoed to a viral meme?” he asked

Perhaps if Jessica hadn’t been so p^ssed off, she would have noticed the subtilities in the way that Dorian had so easily pretended he had no idea what she was talking about when she mentioned the call. She would have realized that he was, indeed, lying after all… she had always been good at that - being able to tell if someone was lying to her. Especially when that someone was her best friend. But this time around, perhaps it was the pure rage that coursed in her, though when he asked what she was talking about, she actually believed him. Perhaps he hadn’t heard the message she left him… and maybe that was for the better. Let him hate her for not saying anything… even if she said more in that message than she had said honestly to his face in months. Some things were just better left unsaid and maybe this fell into that category? Well, Jessica would never have to know any other scenario since he’d seemingly never heard it anyway. But then if it was better, why did that one statement from Dorian hurt so much?

It was what she pushed to the edge of her mind as she stood by the phone, letting her finger tap on the metal as she waited for someone to answer. A slight sigh of relief left her lips as she heard the familiar voice of one Andy McAllister. Though, if he hadn’t picked up, she knew the next person she’d call would have been Yara - and then she would have proceeded to give Andy sh!t about leaving her in Jail. “McNugget here, precinct 13 county jail though? What did you do this time that should have been videoed to a viral meme?” A small laugh left her lips, as she pulled her middle finger out. “Yeah not sure you can see this McNugget, but I have a beautiful gesture directed at you right now. Any guesses to what it could be?” Jess questioned, “But to answer your questions, a little of this, a little of that, I might have been chased through a McDonalds with a hose,” the girl replied jokingly, “Or I might have just bruised the fragile masculinity of a police officer who’s wife just told him he sucks in bed,” she continued, smiling as the cop nearby started laughing. “I’m guessing you know which officer I’m talking about? Yeah feel free to laugh. He was a joke to me too,” Jess smiled.

“Anyways - if you couldn’t guess what I’m calling about yet…” Jess started, leaning against the wall with a slight smile. Andy did always have a way to make her smile even on the worst days which this one fell under. “It’s definitely to tell that you should never grow a beard. Just don’t do it McNugget. I don’t care how much you try to convince me it’s a look, it’s not a good one,” Jess added with a smile, nodding at the officer who pointed at his watch. “Oh and if you could also bring bail money for two people? But more so the first reason than the second.” Jess added with a laugh. “Oh and take your time. There’s a very nice guy offering to give me a tattoo in the holding cell and knowing how I screamed last time, we both know I’m going to need a couple of hours to add a period along with the semicolon I already got. Or Bob Marley’s face. Thoughts? A punctuation that is known as the period, not the blood and cramps us women have to deal with on a monthly basis, or the Jamaican singer that is Bob Marley? Oh and hurry up on the choice, I don’t have all day here to figure out the next tattoo that’ll be on my body for the rest of my life.” Jess added.

“F*** you Daniel.” It wasn’t that she had thought that he couldn’t make her feel worse, it was that she had already done enough against herself, so what difference would it make for him to make her life even worse. She looked at Scout as Daniel called the dog over. Scout was more her dog than he was Daniel’s, even staying by her side. “Go on Scout.” Jezebel said to the dog before looking right at Daniel. “You’re right, I don’t know who you are anymore. You’re not the Daniel I was friends with.” She shook her head. “Ive got it. I don’t need anything from you.” She stood, crossing her arms, waiting for him to return with the box of everything remaining of their friendship. It was yet another low blow, especially with everything he had already said. She picked up the box, holding it in one arm, and hit him with her free hand. “Go to hell Daniel. Wait, no, Don’t. You deserve somewhere a whole lot worse.” She looked at Daniel one last time, the look was a mixture of no longer recognizing the person in front of her, anger towards him, and hurt. On top of everything else, what Daniel did was breaking her. The person who was once her best friend, who was even her family by blood, someone who now hated her. She turned and walked out the door, not even going to the waiting car. She wasn’t going let the driver he had take her back home. Even if it took all night, she’d rather walk home.

“Go to hell Daniel. Wait, no, Don’t You deserve somewhere a whole lot worse.”

“Looking forward to it,” Daniel smiled, as his dog continued to follow Jezebel around as she stood up, walking with her as she walked towards the entrance. Though, what Daniel didn’t expect was the sting that met his face as she slapped him as he handed her the box. Though, instead of showing pain - which he felt mostly since his face was still healing from Andy’s punch along side the fact that it hurt how he was hurting Jezebel… even if he’d never say it - Daniel just smiled. “Aw, that all you got Sloane?” Daniel mumbled in its place, watching as she left through the doors. Daniel had to hold Scout’s collar back to make sure the dog didn’t follow her as he found Jez ignoring the car and walking herself. “For f*cks sake,” Daniel muttered, pulling his phone out and calling his driver. “Follow her and make sure she’s not hurt,” Daniel stated into the phone. Though… as he continued watching her walk away a sigh met his lips as he texted one other person before sitting down on the floor next to where scout was laying by the door. “You miss her, huh?” Daniel asked, petting the dog on the head as he asked that. “I’m surprised you haven’t left me too.” were the last words he muttered, before leaving the sad dog by the door.

Jordan had been driving back from Maverick’s house after a long conversation with Mav’s father when he got a text message from Daniel with simply an apple pin location - which was confusing off the bat. There was nothing else to go off of, but knowing Daniel and his strange ways Jordan pulled up the moving dot on his phone and drove there nonetheless, despite it having been a long day. What Jordan didn’t expect when he reached the pin was a girl walking down the side of the road, hands full. It took Jordan a second, mostly because it was getting completely dark to realize who it was - eyes widening almost instantly as he honked his horn and pulled over to the side of the road.

“Jezebel?” Jordan asked, opening his door up as he got out of his car, still squinting his eyes almost as if he wasn’t sure if it was her. Though with the text that Daniel had sent, it made sense… almost? Though he didn’t know why Daniel wasn’t here himself. “Jez is that you? Are you okay?” Jordan asked - walking towards the girl who had stopped moving at her name.

She knew when she slapped Daniel it must have hurt. The bruising on his face from before guaranteed it, even if she probably could have hit him harder. She missed Scout, but she couldn’t stay there a minute longer and be around Daniel, so she left his house and just walked. It was getting darker out by the minute, but that wouldn’t stop her. What finally caught her attention was a car pulling up and honking, but what stopped her was the sound of her own name and a car door. She turned to see Jordan walking towards her. “Jordan?” She shook her head at his question of if she was alright. “No… I’m not…” As he got closer, or even by the sound of her voice he would know she was crying, and not alright at all. Jordan had just gotten back in town, so he had no idea what had been going on between her and Daniel. She never said a word about being Daniel’s sister to Jordan while they were dating, and she hadn’t said a word about what had happened just before her birthday to him either, so he had no idea the two were no longer friends, or even on speaking terms.

“Jordan?..No…I’m not…”

There was something in Jezebel’s voice that made Jordan almost stop in his tracks in shock. She… was… crying. That was something he hadn’t heard in years and it honestly only made his heart hurt. Jordan’s mind almost went into overdrive when he heard her voice in such a fashion. “Hey…” Jordan whispered as he finally reached her, grabbing the box out of her hands and putting it on the floor, not carrying what was in it, as he immediately pulled her in for a hug. His hand rubbing her back softly as he gently whispered in her ear. “Hey I’m here… if you want to talk about it. And if you don’t that’s fine too,” he mumbled. “Let’s just… get you inside… you’re freezing Jez,” Jordan mumbled, as she shook in his hands.

It finally made sense why Daniel had sent him the message - something had happened. But what? What had happened that Daniel would send him a message and not deal with it himself? Though, in retrospect, it didn’t really matter. All Jordan cared about was Jezebel at the moment. So after a few minutes, Jordan put his jacket over Jezebel’s shoulders - which ironically seemed to be a daily occurrence at this point - and led her to the passenger side of his car. Grabbing the box she was holding after she was safely inside, looking at what it was for the first time. Strangely enough, there were photos of Daniel and Jezebel inside which only made the whole thing even more strange. What the heck had happened?

Though Jordan didn’t ask. He knew Jezebel well enough to know that going home was probably not at the top of her priority list, so instead, Jordan drove back to his condo so that she could calm down before having to go back. “Hey let’s go upstairs so we can warm you up and we can talk. Still a fan of peppermint hot chocolate?” Jordan asked with a small smile, trying to cheer her up as much as he could.

She didn’t know how or why Jordan happened to be there, but she didn’t care. He was there, and that was all that mattered. Jezebel couldn’t hold herself together any longer. Jordan pulled the box out of her hands, and pulled her into a hug. Jordan hugging her was finally some of the comfort that she had been needing. She was shaking, but she didn’t even know if it was from actually being cold, from being upset, or both. She held herself close to him, crying too much at that moment to tell him what had been going on. He had seen her upset before, but it had been a long time since he had seen her like that. She just nodded slightly in response to Jordan as he spoke. Then, Jordan put his jacket over her shoulders, for the second time since he had been back already, and made sure she was alright in the passenger seat. He grabbed the box she had from Daniel’s, and drove to his place. She didn’t want to go back home, which Jordan probably knew. She nodded when he said ether could go upstairs so she could warm up and they could talk. “That… that sounds good.” Then Jordan asked if she still liked peppermint hot chocolate. He knew every possible way to cheer her up, and that was one of them. A small, weak smile appeared on her face as she spoke. “Still my favorite. Hasn’t changed a bit.” However the smile only lasted for a moment. “You missed so much…”

Jezebel had been quiet for most of the car ride, hell, since the moment he’d found her on the side of the road - but he couldn’t blame her. Whatever had happened had clearly shook her to her core. So instead of pushing Jezebel to answer, Jordan just put the radio on and sang along, doing really anything he could to make Jezebel calm down.

“Ready for this Jezebel?” Jordan grinned as a familiar song came along and Jordan turned it up slightly - really getting into the song as he sang it for her enjoyment.

“My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
And they’re like, it’s better than yours
Damn right it’s better than yours
I can teach you, but I have to charge”

As the song came to an end, a large grin was on Jordan’s lips as he looked towards Jez with a knowing smile. “You have to admit, my rendition of that song is pretty damn good,” he laughed. Though his smile faltered when he continued to listen to the radio, hearing the commenter speaking. “And that was another throwback called ‘Milkshake’ I haven’t heard that one in a while now. But we’re gonna fast forward back to the present with this next hit by Jordan Williams that came out only a few months ago. This kid is really taking the music industry by storm. My own daughter has a poster of him in her room. Anyways, here is Contact.”

Jordan raised his eyebrow as he turned the volume down to the song he released a few months ago, almost glad when it was over. It was one thing writing a song about a girl he had feelings for, it was another hearing it in the car when she was with him - not to mention she was visibly upset and he didn’t need this adding on top of it.

As the ride came to an end, the conversation moving to her favorite drink - a smile met his lips. “Glad to hear everything didn’t change while I was gone,” Jordan whispered, happy that he finally saw her smile. Though it soon changed with her next words of “You missed so much…”

“I can tell… but why don’t you tell me all about it while I feed you sugar?” Jordan whispered, opening his door before going over to her side and opening the passenger side for her. The building his management had set up for him was honestly nicer than he was used to. Though, in retrospect, over the past few years, Jordan had been usually either living in tour busses while he was dancing back up for various artists or in trailers on the movies he worked for. And before that, it was his father’s house if… he hadn’t run away and was sleeping on park benches. Though… since his father had died a few weeks prior, Jordan still hadn’t gathered the courage to go back there and pack things up.

As they went up the elevator to the 49th floor, one floor below where the full-floor condos were located. Though his management had originally wanted him to get one of those, Jordan immediately denied it. After all, who needed a whole floor to themselves? It was just a waste of money and Jordan already felt like the place they had gotten him currently was too much. But his management had explained that it was big enough to fit a piano, and makeshift studio inside the 2 bedroom condo - hence convincing him to finally agree. “Here we are,” Jordan stated as he walked over to one of the doors right next to the elevator, opening it up with his key to let the girl in. Perhaps one of the things he did appreciate was the nice view. It really put…the world into perspective. “Feel free to make yourself at home,” Jordan smiled as Prince and Elvis crowded the two the moment they walked in. “Hey guys,” Jordan laughed as he walked over towards the kitchen to get that the hot chocolate together. “Ben and Jerry’s - I have chocolate fudge and strawberry cheesecake?” Jordan smiled towards where Jezebel had taken a seat on the couches. Though he himself wasn’t a big ice cream person, it was more for Yara and Riker who had decided to bunk with him for however long. Though the man was out for the night on a date so Jordan wasn’t worried about having the place to himself. “One marshmallow or two? Or should I just go crazy?”

”Beautiful finger you got there, really, I’m flattered” he said at the beautiful gesture she was referring to
He listened to her as she spoke, and rested his back against a somewhat fragile old wall
“I’m guessing you know which officer I’m talking about? Yeah feel free to laugh. He was a joke to me too,”
”Fcuking whittle” Andy rolled his eyes as he muttered, nobody likes whittle.
*“Anyways - if you couldn’t guess what I’m calling about yet… It’s definitely to tell that you should never grow a beard. Just don’t do it McNugget. I don’t care how much you try to convince me it’s a look, it’s not a good one,”
He let out a snorted chuckle ”Okay mom” he said with a nod ”No beard. Can I get a moustache instead?” he asked jokingly, even though he would probably never do that
“Oh and if you could also bring bail money for two people? But more so the first reason than the second.”
”Took you long enough” he shook his head with a light smile, ”I might bail only the other person as revenge that you went on and got arrested without me” he added with a joking smirk, even though he didn’t actually want to get arrested with her, especially not after last time.

“Oh and take your time. There’s a very nice guy offering to give me a tattoo in the holding cell …”
”I have the perfect idea, tattoo my face on your left but cheek” He said ”It’s clearly a tattoo meant for you. on your left but cheek.” he added jokingly, remembering the time she got the one tattoo she already has, it was honestly hilarious to watch, her reaction was so extra for such a small tattoo, she cursed him so much but it was fun, the memory brought a smile to his face even though up until she called he wasn’t in a good mood whatsoever. She just had that talent of making him smile even when he felt like sh!t.

”Okay you do that, I’ll come bail you so you don’t do some more stupid sh!t” he added with a light smile and hung up the phone turning back to Mikel ”Need to bail Jess” he said ”You coming with me?” he asked with a raised brow and pushed himself away from the wall he was resting against

Mikel had stopped breaking windows of cars and was now sitting on the hood of one smoking. He looked up at the sky as the sun beat down on him and his black clothes. He was warm but liked the feeling. He heard Andy talking to someone but didn’t really pay attention to what he was saying to the person on the other line. Mikel was in his own thoughts and they were pretty scattered. Part of him wanted to grab his own phone and call Jezebel. He didn’t really even want to talk to her, he just wanted to know if she would answer to start off with. Maybe just hear her voice. The other part of him wanted to use his parent’s private plane and fly to Vegas for the next couple of days to just getaway. (FORESHADOWING OOO) The last part of him thought it was time he went out and took new pictures. He wasn’t sure what of or who of but he knew he wanted to be behind a lens again. It was one of the few things, aside from alcohol and drugs that got his mind to shut off.

He soon was brought back to reality as he looked at Andy who was now talking to him and off the phone, well mostly, the car behind Andy now had a face along with all the other junk by him. This caused Mikel to rub his eyes and make himself really focus on Andy and his words. * ”Need to bail Jess, ”You coming with me?” “Why not.” He responded and slid off the hood of the car he sat on. Rubbing off the dirt from his pants but it didn’t really help. “Maybe we can stop and get snacks on the way, or after.” He said with a chuckle as he wanted something to munch on right about now.

“Yes, it really is a great gesture. Right next to my ring pop finger.” Jess smiled, her middle finger still out as she talked to Andy - likely getting dirty looks from anyone who saw her in passing. She did raise her eyebrow as McNugget guessed who she was talking about, as did the three officers doing work near her. Seemed no one really liked Officer Whittle - well, they wouldn’t really have to deal with him much longer. Jessica didn’t often care about these things, but for the simple fact of him being an arse and to save people future pain, she was going to get him fired for wrongful arrest. And the bruises on her wrists could also go towards a manhandling charge - though, with Daniel’s help, she didn’t technically need real proof to do either. She just didn’t want any girls in the future getting arrested by that man - especially for the sheer bias and hatred within the man on women and people of color.

“No mustache either - you’ll look like one of those evil villains from the 1900s or just look like you have a cockroach on your lip and neither is a good look Love. One second,” Jess mumbled into the phone as an officer passed her. “Hey, just a bit of advice. Lose the stach, it really isn’t framing your face well.” Jess told the man who touched his face immediately and quickly walked away from her unsolicited advice. “Okay sorry about that, and you can bail either of us out or both - I’ll let you choose. One of us is related to you by blood, one of us you love like they were related to you by blood,” Jess laughed, rolling her eyes as Andy told her about his tattoo idea. “Damn Andy, you should have asked me five minutes ago before I decided that’s where Bob Marlay goes. But I guess since you have a tattoo for me on your arm, it’s only fair I get one for you.” Jess laughed, “So where would you like your face instead? Right butt cheek is free?” Jess offered, her mind almost forgetting the incident with Dorian earlier with the smile Andy brought to her lips. “Thanks love,” Jess mumbled as the phone call ended. She was about to head back when she saw her favorite Officer Roy pass by her and hugged the man.

“JESSICA” she heard and laughter left her lips “I heard my favorite troublemaker was back so I had to come to see her, now… why don’t you tell me what happened this time”

“Ahh, would you like me to start from the beginning?” Jess questioned, though already knowing he would. “Well… the day started off at a funeral…”

It had been about forty five minutes and her audience with Officer Roy had become a party of Officer Roy, Callahan, Roberts, Emilio, Redding, and Platz - all listening as she talked about the all the bits and pieces of the day - including falling naked on top of Dorian, which Roberts agreed WAS AN ACCIDENT, to pretending to be dating Dylan, which Roy agreed was hilarious and needed with Davina’s constant shipping, and all the way to yelling at Whittle, which they all agreed needed to be done. “So now I’m here, waiting for my friend to pay bail - really not wanting to go back to that idiot who yelled at me.” Jess mumbled with a sigh.

“So why’d you leave? I mean that seems to be the big issue for him huh?” Officer Emilio asked and Jess smiled softly. “I didn’t want to. I really didn’t but there was something that made me do it and… I didn’t really have a choice.” Jess sighed. Honestly, sometimes it felt easier to tell strangers one’s problem than it ever did to tell her friends… or ex friends, “Though apparently, he thinks I never said anything to him and I definitely left a voicemail…” Jess mumbled - receiving groans from the group. “You can’t just leave a voicemail to your best friend,”

“HE WAS HAVING SEX WITH HIS GIRLFRIEND. I wasn’t going to ruin that night for him… though I may have tried to see him earlier that night… it just… didn’t work out. A voicemail… was just easier after that… I guess,” Jess sighed before continuing, “But I guess it really doesn’t matter anyway. I don’t even remember exactly what I said… I may have added something about the red socks in there,” Jess smiled, getting laughs from the group, “So it’s probably better. Anyway, it was really nice to meet all of you. I hope to see all of you again, preferably not in a jail cell,” Jess grinned, actually here’s my number - I definitely heard you all talking about a poker night and I hope to be invited," Jess laughed before giving the group her phone number. “Alright, now who’s taking me back and having the pleasure of seeing me stuck in a room with that idiot?” Jess added and Roy stood up with the words “Wouldn’t miss this for the world” Though as they started walking, he did add that he could get her a single cell so she wouldn’t be stuck with him.

“Sometimes you just have to face it,” Jess smiled as Dorian came back into view, bringing a pit in her stomach that the last forty minutes had gotten rid of momentarily. “Thanks, Roy. Don’t forget. Tuesday night. I’ll bring the wings.” Jess sent him a grin as he locked her back inside and she took a seat on the floor - not wanting to be near Dorian. As she settled down, Jessica pulled her 2-inch heels off her feet and threw them to the side. “You know, heels suck,” Jess started - trying to break the tension again, coming down from the high of talking to people who were actually engaging with her. “Like what is it with women having to wear heels? I’d take bloody converse any day. Though I guess you don’t ever have to deal with that… lucky you having a pen!s and not having to deal with societal standards,” Jess spoke. At this point, she was probably talking more to herself than anyone else. “Anyways… Someone’s coming to bail both of us out by the way… Probably should be here soon. Though you told me earlier not to talk about this certain individual so I don’t know if I’m allowed to say his name,”

A sigh left her lips as Jess leaned against the bars, “Okay so you’re really just going to not say anything? I mean I get it - you realized you were being an arse and I was right? Understandable…” Perhaps in part, she was trying to rile him up, just to get even a word out of him. Silence never faired well for Jessica. “Alright how about this. We can’t talk about my love life, but why don’t we talk about yours? What about you and Anna last year?” Jess mumbled, remembering the news outlets covering the story of Anna dating rising soccer player “Dorian DeLoughrey”. Usually, she’d just think it was just another thing for Anna to upset Jessica, but the way they looked together in the photos… she wasn’t really sure. “You’re such a hypocrite you know,”

Yes, it really is a great gesture. Right next to my ring pop finger.”
”That’s definitely one good finger” he said ”You’ll get your new ring pop soon don’t worry” he added and ran an hand through his hair
”No mustache either - you’ll look like one of those evil villains from the 1900s or just look like you have a cockroach on your lip and neither is a good look Love…”
”Pretty sure you said I look like a villain before so maybe being a 1900s villain is better, vintage and sh!t you know” he added with a smirk and a raised brow ”I really am a villain though” he added
Okay sorry about that, and you can bail either of us out or both - I’ll let you choose. One of us is related to you by blood, one of us you love like they were related to you by blood,
Related to him by blood? That could only be one of the DeLoughreys, and for all he new neither Elo or Dori were on good terms with her, and Dylan doesn’t usually get arrested, so he wondered who it could be. ”One big family” he said ”Don’t kill each other”
”But I guess since you have a tattoo for me on your arm, it’s only fair I get one for you.”
”I think my face tattooed on your butt is kinda fair becuse I don’t get ring pops. It’s just a fair deal” he said
”So where would you like your face instead? Right butt cheek is free?”
”Hmmmm” he said ”If I bribe you with food can I get the left cheek? It really matches my personality” he asked
”Okay I’m coming” he said and hung hip
”Why not.”
”Awesome” he said and shoved his phone into his pocket
“Maybe we can stop and get snacks on the way, or after.”
”We can stop at the drive thru” he suggested as they headed out of the lot ”for the sake of your sanity, big tip, never show up to bail Jess out with no food in your hand” he said and put his helmet on again, he wasn’t completely sober and neither was Mikel, he didn’t like driving that way but Jess needed them to come, so he didn’t mind it too much.
They headed off, and stopped on the way to get something to eat and to draw money from an atm nearby.
As they arrived at the jail they went through security showing them IDs and all. but there was one thing they didn’t think about, and one thing led to another, and they got tested with a breathalyser. Neither of them thought of the fact that they were underage, drinking, and driving as they came up to the place, but it backfired and soon enough they were taken to the holding cell as well.
”Fcuk.” Andy mumbled as they were taken away.
They arrived at the holding cells, and inside the cell he saw not other than one Dorian DeLoughrey ”Dori??” he looked at them confused
”Well… anyway plan didn’t go well” he said looking at Jess as the officer locked the cell behind them

A sigh met his lips as Daniel had moved back to his room, listening to his mother yelling at his father as she told him she was taking the plane to her conference alone and that he should think about what the hell he had done. Sure Danny could stay in his room, wait until his father gave him a disappointed look but he couldn’t. He didn’t want to. So instead, Daniel grabbed his jacket - not even making an effort to change out of his grey sweat pants - and grabbed one of the keys from his garage. He was about to leave when he saw the rascal that was furball staring back at him and sighed. “Fine, come on,” He mumbled to the girl who instantly ran and attempted to get into his car. If there was one thing he prided himself on - it was training his dogs well. Dan grabbed her collar and leash and helped the little girl into his car as he drove to the pet-friendly Starbucks a mile away.

Walking inside, Daniel rolled his eyes at the ‘awes’, he instantly got from a few teenage girls and let them play with her as he ordered black coffee and a snack for his pet - taking a seat by the window as he opened his laptop. He was slightly getting worried about Jessica, her phone has been off for the past few hours so he had no idea where the girl had ended up - so he automatically started doing a search for her. He smiled as the teenage girls returned his dog, and put her snack on the floor as he waited for his database to find any hits of where Jess was. He really needed to put a tracking device in her heels or something - that girl needed to stop disappearing without telling him where he was. It scared the hell out of him. Jezebel, however, was easily found at Jordan’s house so his worry ceased there.

Though before his computer could pull up results he saw someone walk in, resulting in him attempting to use his laptop to hide his face.

The day wasn’t easy, to say the least.
Looking back, if Kai didn’t interfere in her… quarrel, with Lily Ann, she’d probably find herself in a prison cell calling someone to bail her out.
And even so, she didn’t regret it, not even a tiny bit. She hated that woman with every fibre of her being, she deserved a lot worse than she got, but screw it. It’s irrelevant now.
Quite a while has passed since the funeral, but Valerie still didn’t go home, the day was sh!tty enough she couldn’t deal with her parents now as well. So she wandered around, most of her time she spent sitting by the lake, looking at the calm blue water with her AirPods in her ear playing full volume of the songs she loved.
To say the lease, Valerie was tired. Whether it was the tiring day in general or the fact that she didn’t get much sleep at night, either way, she was definitely lacking energy, so after a while she decided to get up and go get some coffee at the closest Starbucks.
Walking in, she went over to order, the place wasn’t too crowded but it wasn’t exactly empty either. Looking at the things they had she asked herself whether she wanted to get a blueberry muffin or not, as she remembered she hasn’t eaten pretty much anything in the last 24 hours, but she wasn’t feeling like it to so she just ordered a double espresso, a little something to wake her up.
As she took her coffee and turned around walking towards the seats to find a free spot, a certain person cought her attention as they seemed to be hiding. She looked closer and god knows it was pretty much the one person she didn’t want to see that day, Daniel Parker once again.
She was mad at him, but at the same time she wasn’t, her own mind was just too complicated for her to even understand in the first place.
She rolled her eyes subtly with a sigh and went over to him, god knows why. ”Is hiding at a Starbucks wearing sweatpants your go to activity after being an ass at funerals?” she asked raising a brow
”Do you even realize how much of a d!ck move that was? I mean go on, but at the funeral? Seriously?” she added trying to keep herself from getting any more mad or annoyed than she already was in the first place. By now she somewhat managed to calm herself down, she didn’t want to get mad again but it also wasn’t hard to get her to it.

“F^ck, F^ck, F^ck”

Daniel thought as he continued to hid his face behind his screen, putting his hoodie up in an attempt so she wouldn’t see him. His head in his hand, a sigh left his lips as he heard her voice - his eyes closing as a groan left his lips. “Not my go-to past time after being a d!ck at a funeral, but it is my past time after being a d!ck at dinner,” Daniel sighed, taking his hoodie off his head as he watched the walking ball of fur rubbing against Val’s foot in an attempt to get pet. “Furball, chill,” Daniel sighed, snapping his finger as he watched the pet. “Sit,” he stated clearly, watching as the puppy was debating what to do. “She’s being trained,” Dan mumbled as he looked at the dog making the sign to sit until the dog finally obeyed for about five seconds before trying to climb Valerie’s leg once again for affection to which Daniel just gave up.

“Do you even realize how much of a d!ck move that was? I mean go on, but at the funeral? Seriously?”

A sigh left his lips as he pointed at the seat across from him. “Well, you might as well sit down?” Daniel mumbled, leaning against the chair. “Tell me - do you really think that the whole funeral meant anything to Lily-Ann? Did you see the three cameras lining up in the back? Or the celebrities Lily-Ann paid to come to the event to look good?” Daniel questioned, closing his computer before the search results on Jessica came back. “Or did you notice that every time Lily-Ann lies, she blinks right after? So every single time she said ‘I’m so upset about Candice’ or anything along those lines, it was followed by her blinking” Daniel questioned. “Or how about the fact that she literally staged the whole funeral a day after her daughter died to get maximum publicity?” he finished, leaning his head in his hands as he asked the questions.

“Now I didn’t like Candice at all - but that woman was using even her bloody death as a publicity stunt. and no one deserved that. So the best thing I could do was to make sure she didn’t get a perfect funeral. Sure I added my own little flair to it, but that whole speech was mostly directed at Lily-Ann.” Daniel sighed, “And Dominic, but that’s my own personal vendetta,” Daniel stated - taking a drink of his coffee. “Do you really think Candice would have wanted her mom to use that bullsh!t perfectionist persona even on her death bed? After she quite literally died trying to get away from her? And yes I know you know that she wasn’t just driving that night for a late-night stroll. For f*cks sake she had money and clothes in the back of her car. We both know what she was doing. Hate me all you want Valerie, but I was doing that for Candice.”

”for the sake of your sanity, big tip, never show up to bail Jess out with no food in your hand”* Mikel smirked to himself as he walked to his jeep. “Trust me I know.” He said back to Andy and made a smacking sound with his tongue hitting the roof of his mouth. Mikel knew Jess pretty well. Their friendship was special and different than most of his friendships. He didn’t fully trust many people but she was one of the few he felt he could. On their way, Mikel made the executive decisions to stop and get a bag of chips and a slurpee from the gas station and a chocolate bar that he decided he would give to Jess. Once they got there he got out, sticking the bar in his back pocket and carrying the rest of his snacks in his arms. He almost looked like a kid with how happy he was in the moment. As he walked into the building and behind Andy, he almost felt like he was walking on clouds. He showed the people his ID and got through just fine, until the made him blow. “Frick.” He mumbled to himself knowing they were both screwed. They took his snacks, all except the bar in his back pocket which was probably melted now. “Big d.” He said with a laugh as they were put into a cell with Dorian and Jess. “Ah the beautiful Jess. Miss me?” He added while looking at her. “I have a gift,” he pulled the bar out and handed it her way.

“Not my go-to past time after being a d!ck at a funeral, but it is my past time after being a d!ck at dinner,”
”On the roll today” she said slightly shaking her head as she looked down to see a cute little dog rubbing against her let
“Furball, chill, Sit, She’s being trained,”
”She’s cute let her be” she said and petted the small dog with half a smile
“Well, you might as well sit down?”
She rolled her eyes with a sigh but eventually sat, it didn’t actually make a difference but at least not tire her legs as she was getting into a potentially pointless conversation.
She listened as he talked about all the sh!t Lily Ann was up to, while drinking her coffee. She knew all that before it was nothing new to her, Lily Ann wasn’t the issue, well she was but not now.
”Oh no I couldn’t care less about Lily Ann. That b!tch deserves to rot alone in pain, and she knows it. She almost got me arrested for assault today.”
“And Dominic, but that’s my own personal vendetta,”
She shook her head subtly at the comment, because of course, where could be a better place for a vendetta than in a guy’s ex girlfriend’s funeral?”What personal vendetta Daniel she’s dead” she asked partly annoyed yet also confused in a way
“Do you really think Candice would have wanted her mom to use that bullsh!t perfectionist persona even on her death bed? After she quite literally died trying to get away from her? And yes I know you know that she wasn’t just driving that night for a late-night stroll. For fcks sake she had money and clothes in the back of her car. We both know what she was doing. Hate me all you want Valerie, but I was doing that for Candice.”
The thing is, she wouldn’t want that, but even so, all she always did was let her mother use her as a bullsh!t perfectionist persona, alive or dead what’s the difference?
He wasn’t necessarily wrong.
She was running away, she finally did it after all these years and multiple times Val told her to run away and she didn’t listen. Now she was 18, that was her real shot, and she took it… failing miserably.
He did make her look bad as a friend when he mentioned Candice having eating disorders, but that wasn’t what bothered her, not now and not back at the funeral. She for once wasn’t the issue, and in a way neither was Daniel. But he also was.
”Look. I don’t give a sh!t about Lily Ann, it’s not for her that I’m saying this, I’m saying it for the people that aren’t you, who some of them actually cared about Candice and deserve to mourn her like normal human beings” she said ”I’m not saying you shouldn’t fcuk Lily Ann’s reputation on live television, with that one I actually for once agree with you” she added with a raised brow and took a sip from her cup.
