Mistakenly,” he repeated after Ketziah, almost mockingly as a playful smile stayed on his lips. Yes, he could tell it was an accident but where’s the fun in that? It was just a pity she wasn’t easy to embarrass. “Sure, sure. You know how many times someone mistakenly walked in? You’d be surprised,” laughing lightly, he looked at her for a short second with raised brows. “You should also be more creative next time. Covering your eyes? C’mon, you could do better. Throw in some comments or something, the guys would appreciate it,” he continued, placing his hands in his pockets as he continued walking next to her. It always felt nice being with someone that… cares, a friend. It was also always visible how much happier he seemed.

Until he took out his phone to check the time. He still had a lot of time before lunch but the thought of that little arrangement with someone he doesn’t want to talk about could easily ruin his mood, anytime. But he was trying hard not to let that happen, at least while he was with Ketziah. With a sigh he put his phone away and shifted his attention to her. “Where are you going now, anyways? What do you have?”

She touched his arm, but he still didn’t turn, at least not for a while.
Was she actually surprised he bolted off? Not at all. That’s just how it was, fcuk and dump, that’s what she was good for wasn’t it? She was rarely ever the kind of person people wanted to keep associating with after. And she was used to it, she learned how to ignore things so it doesn’t bother her, but this time… it bothered her a lot more than it should, and that scared her. It meant she was starting to get feelings, and she never let herself get there, rarely at least… It didn’t happen since Jessica,
or has it? years and years, and she promised herself never to let herself go down that road again, it always lead to pain so why bother? It’s not like anyone would want to be with her for more than a fun night anyway.

“Why aren’t you dancing? Handsy over there seemed like he was a blast,”
She looked at the guy she was dancing with as Daniel pointed in his direction, but honestly she had zero interest in him even though he was very attractive. ”Handsy can wait” she said, having no idea what his name actually was but it didn’t really matter did it?

He leaned closer to her ear so she could hear him, and the proximity brought all the goosebumps came to her as she bit her lip trying to hide it.
“I was going to head out, but you have fun. I’ll see you and Mikey later, After all, I have some money to win,”
Denial, avoidance, of course. What was she even expecting?
Why did she even follow him out the dance floor? She didn’t know, a gut feeling perhaps, but for what? She was only heading first class ticket on an express train to pain and heartbreak. And for what? A secret fantasy that could never truly happen.

”Don’t” she said quietly but loud enough for him to hear since he was leaned towards her ear. Don’t go, don’t be sorry, just… don’t.
“Um-“ she added quietly, in loss of words. Valerie was rarely they kind of person to find herself in loss of words, she always had what to say but now she didn’t, and it wasn’t the first time. why are you doing this to me? she thought to herself. I don’t want you to go was what she might have wanted to say, but instead all that came out was ”You shouldn’t go alone”. what was she even on about-

“Por el amor de Dios, Can I not just know about how you’re doing now Lúi, I haven’t seen you in months.” He leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms across his chest. Perhaps he’d reacted a bit harshly to the question, but it felt a lot like him as a tactic to dance around the elephant in the room, and he wasn’t here for that. So he stayed quiet, letting Jacob continue on.

He didn’t know anything about Jai applying for a visa; this was the first he was hearing of it. It did make more sense now though, why he seemingly tried to re-insert himself in Luciano’s life out of the blue. When Luciano left Brazil, he left this relationship behind too and tried to bury the feelings and just move on. But with Jacob coming here, some of the feelings that had stuck around but had been long pushed down were beginning to emerge again. "I missed you, mi Amor, can you blame me?” Lui sighed, meeting his gaze. “Jacob, it’s been four months. Four months and… nothing. Things have changed. I’ve moved on. Que esperabas? That I was waiting for you? That I just couldn’t get you off my mind?” He chuckled mirthlessly. “'Cause that’s not the case.”

“I wanted to see you… to see if there was anything I could do to convince you to give me another chance. Look, I’ve made my mistakes…” Luciano snorted involuntarily, finding the vast understatement that he made to be amusing. “I have. And I’m sorry. I can’t change my past, but I can fix my future. But the one thing I can’t forget is you. So I was hoping that… asking you to come here… that we could just… talk about it.” He raised an eyebrow at him, bitter amusement curling his lips in a dry smile. “Talk about what? The fact that you cheated on me with my cousin during my grandfather’s funeral?” The smile fell off his face as soon as the words were spoken, and he shook his head, regretting it. He could remember very distinctly the torrent of emotions that he’d felt when Jai had told him about it, remembered the whole talk they had, remembered saying he forgave him… but some wounds never fully healed. “No, okay, sorry. That… I shouldn’t’ve said that. But what is there to talk about? We… it’s over, it’s been over. We can’t go back to what it was.”

"Fcuk other adults who caresss. Though they’re not necessarily wrong.” She frowned at him, hitting his shoulder. “Hey, you’re supposed to be on my side!” The frown faded, a light laugh replacing it. “You should’ve stuck with the first sentence.”

“You’re clearly the best speller around here.” She laughed. "Now I have seen your spelling powers oh mighty spelling lord.” Aline grinned, giving him a nod. “Clearly yes. I am definitely the lord of spelling, everyone should just bow down to me. I am now the GOD of the English language.”

"Confused…?” She chuckled, patting his shoulder. “Yeah, I know. It’s this whole thing that’s sorta hard to go into, but I can’t tell you what’s going on exactly. But if we are just going there for lunch…” she trailed off, glancing up at him. “You see?” She softened slightly, rubbing her head. “I don’t know, Lui will probably be pretty plssed but he’s being an ass anyways so I’m okay with that. I just like you and think that you should know. So. Maybe don’t be mad at me too?” It was a weird thing to ask of him when he didn’t even know what was going on but she asked it.

”But let’s go yeah, we can walk, or I can drive. Up to you I don’t mind.” She didn’t really feel like walking today and she was definitely not wearing the right shoes for it. Also, taking the car would definitely ensure that they caught Lui and Puke Face before they left. “Yeah let’s go with your car.”

Though Daniel was listening to her while she talked, his mind was a million miles away. God why the hell was it getting so hard to be this close to Valerie wood? Ever since that pesky Elevator ride Daniel had claimed to forget, he couldn’t get her off of his damn mind. Though, in retrospect, the way Daniel’s mind worked - he couldn’t really get anything off of his mind. He was always calculating, thinking, figuring out his next move. But Val… she was different. No, Daniel, stop it, he thought to himself, bringing himself out of his daze as she uttered “Handsy can wait”. God… the fresh air would have been great at that moment.

As he made a movement to leave, the only thing that stopped him in his tracks was the word “don’t” escaping Valerie Wood’s lips. There was something else there, something below the surface that Daniel was having trouble reading. He couldn’t figure out what she was thinking. Usually, for Daniel, it wasn’t hard to make a guess. But honestly, he didn’t know. He raised his eyebrow as she continued with the words “You shouldn’t go alone” bringing a soft smile to his lips. What the hell was he doing? It was like this day had just been filled with surprises. Things that Daniel couldn’t even imagine saying were coming out of his lips. So, in a joking manner, he looked at her as he leaned in again. “Are you offering to come with then? I don’t know if you could keep up, Val.” He added in a lighthearted tone, trying to push down any earlier thoughts of her lips upon his own and the way she felt against his body. No… they couldn’t go there again. Daniel was far too unlovable to let this girl fall down the rabbit hole with him. Perhaps distance was best for the rest of the trip. “But one of us should probably stay for Mikel,” he added, slight hesitancy in his voice clouded by his earlier confidence.

“You should’ve stuck with the first sentence.”
He chuckled shaking his head lightly ”I said what I said” he said with a shrug and half a smirk. He was rarely ever the type of person to get to places late, but he personally never really bothered it too much when others did, until a certain level of course.

“Clearly yes. I am definitely the lord of spelling, everyone should just bow down to me. I am now the GOD of the English language.”
”The languager” he stated, bringing his hand forward in a movement as if he was introducing a sign or a title. ”Basically a celebrity” he said with a chuckle bringing his hand back to his pocket.

He listened to her, still pretty confused but she was clearly not going to tell him so he had to just wait and see. and he was honestly getting kind of worried.

“I don’t know, Lui will probably be pretty plssed but he’s being an ass anyways so I’m okay with that. I just like you and think that you should know. So. Maybe don’t be mad at me too?”
”I’ll try my best” he said, still not knowing what the hell is he not supposed to be mad about ”I trust you, probably won’t be mad. Depends what you do” he added

“Yeah let’s go with your car.”
”sounds great” he said ”let’s go” he added and they headed out to the school parking lot where his car was parked along with the many other cars out there. He opened the car and they got into is driving towards the cafe, which he knew where it was since he had been there before.

Zion bit the inside of their lip, trying not to giggle as they listened to her talk. They found her babbling kind of adorable and they would’ve told her. If they knew how to do so without making it super awkward. “I am excited for the camping trip.” They said, responding to her first question. “I’ve never been camping before. My parents never really understood it and my brother wouldn’t go in the woods if you paid him.” They added, a small chuckle escaping their lips. They thought about the sleeping arrangements for a second, realizing that they were as curious as she was. “I’m wondering the same thing.” They agreed with her, leaning back in their chair. “I mean, it’s camping, so one would assume we’re in tents. Then again, you really never know with this school.”

Zion had said they’d never gone camping before, explaining why. Marie giggled at the fact that Zion’s brother wouldn’t go into the woods. “He afraid of Slenderman, or something?” She snorted. “And I thought boys were supposed to be the brave ones.” Marie nodded when Zion agreed with her. “Yeah, you’d think we’d be in tents, but there are bound to be girls complaining about the ground and not having curling irons. I mean, calm down. I’d guess the sleeping arrangements would be sane sex. Knowing this school, there are bound to be hook ups.” Marie rolled her eyes. “Also, just let me know if you need anything. I come prepared.”

As she spoke, a light smile formed on his lips which made her heart flutter for a second. Never in her life she has been this affected by the smallest things and the bare existence of a guy, especially not Daniel parker. But something changed, it’s funny to think how not so long ago she hated his guts and now she just couldn’t get him out of her head, what was that and why was it happening? why was she letting herself go weak?

“Are you offering to come with then? I don’t know if you could keep up, Val.”
If anything, it’s the other way around.” she said as a smirk came to her lips, keeping up and turning his own words on him as she herself was getting less tense.
“But one of us should probably stay for Mikel,”
She sighed ever so lightly and looked over in the direction of the booth, spotting Mikel in the distance talking to some girl, they seemed like they were getting along and having a good time so so she wasn’t worried ”I think he’s handling himself quite alright” she said, leaning in towards his ear again with a light smile, trying to get him to agree or show any hint of wanting her to come with him, even though she didn’t need anyone to tell her where to go wasn’t actually expecting him to want her company, but she just wanted to know… if that makes any sense

His mind was racing, as per usual, though this time for another reason. Daniel was trying to figure out all the ways this could go as she uttered the words “I think he’s handling himself quite alright”. Sure Daniel could just disagree with the statement and leave, find another excuse to make her stay and make his escape, or any of the other million plans forming in his mind. But something wouldn’t let him. It was as if his heart and mind weren’t speaking the same language anymore, and rather, it was simply whichever one was fighting harder that had control. What in the name of ‘inside out’ characters were happening in his head? Why weren’t they stopping him? Hell, he didn’t know - what he did was that after a few seconds, Daniel put his hand out, “Well then just try to keep up, Wood,” he stated, before leading her out the exit of the club - sending a text to Mikel about his disappearance as he did so.

Daniel couldn’t be reckless now. Sure, he had started the process already by bringing the girl with him. Though his mind still couldn’t fully understand why the hell he was doing what he was doing, he did know that he needed to make sure nothing happened past a friendly interaction. And no, he didn’t mean the far too friendly interaction they had earlier. So, as they finally reached the outskirts of the exit, leading back to the hotel where they could finally hear each other again, he let out a cheeky grin. “I wasn’t kidding when I said I had a plan to rob this casino blind,” Dan added, leading the girl to the lobby where the casino was. All around them the two saw high rollers gambling, spinning the slots, having their poker face for a long-winded game. Daniel immediately walked towards the cash box, showing the woman his fake ID and paying for far too many chips and sane person would think a teenage boy would have and handing half of it to the girl. “So Val,” He questioned, looking back over at her. Attempting not to have his eyes wander to her lips for the second time this evening, “How good is your poker face?” Sure, poker wasn’t the game Daniel was planning on sweeping clean tonight. Nor blackjack. No, Daniel’s hand was in electronic games. But that didn’t mean they couldn’t lose some before they won.

“Well then just try to keep up, Wood,”
She smiled as he finally ageeed, but soon enough changed to a smirk ”I don’t keep up, I get kept up with” she said with a playful tone bringing confidence back to surface even though inside her she was a complete mess.

as they left the club Valerie rubbed her ear as she could finally hear normally again, she did Love clubs and loud music but as for now she was really better off with being able to hear actual words and not only beats.
“I wasn’t kidding when I said I had a plan to rob this casino blind,”
”Never doubted it” she said with a light chuckle as they headed to the Casino. After all, Vegas was the land of casinos, they had more of those than they had running water.

“So Val, How good is your poker face?”
”Better than you’d expect” she said, raising her brow but not expressing too much. She had a great poker face, and it wasn’t necessarily a good thing when you think about it, it didn’t come from playing poker or anything of sort, it came from hiding pain and trying to pretend everything in her life was always okay when in reality they never were. ”but I’m not sure about my poker game skills, I haven’t played in ages” she said. She wasn’t much of a poker player, she was taught how to play by her grandfather, but since he died she hasn’t played in quite a while.
But what’s a better time to start again if not now?

“I said what I said.” She rolled her eyes, laughing. “Damn so fvck the teachers but at the same time they’re right? “The languager” As Gio moved his hand in that flourishing gesture as if he were introducing her or something, she did a curtsy, holding her large imaginary skirts and dipping downwards with a giggle. “Yes thanks, that is my new name,” she said, smiling. “Basically a celebrity.” Aline glanced at him with a grin. “Totally a celebrity. Makes sense as you definitely can’t spell celebrity without Aline so.”

“I’ll try my best.” She nodded, a faint smile appearing in on her lips. “Okay okay.” That was pretty much all she could ask for, as he didn’t even know what the situation was. This would hurt things between her and Lui for a bit, but he’d get over it and see that she did the best thing for their relationship. Not telling Gio would be worse, as it could ruin things between them completely. Obviously, the majority of her loyalty still went to Lui, but since he was being epically stupid and Gio deserved the truth, she was on his side in this situation. “I trust you, probably won’t be mad. Depends what you do.” Her face twisted, and she shook her head. “I mean… I don’t know exactly what to expect so maybe I’m gonna get in a fight, who knows.” Aline shrugged casually, meaning the words. “But it’d be for your honour for sure so you can’t be mad.”

“Sounds great let’s go.” She nodded and followed him to his car, slipping into the passenger seat. And then they were off, towards the cafe. Her fingers drummed anxiously against her thigh. She didn’t regret the decision, per se, but it did make her feel nervous to be approaching the cafe.

Malachi nodded slightly in response to her saying that Italian sounded fine. “Well, you may even know some of the people I know at the school, so they could introduce me to you.” He paused as she asked what name he thought she looked like. He had his own thought, but he couldn’t just say. “I try not to make a habit out of calling a girl by the wrong name, and I wouldn’t want to call you some name that doesn’t fit.” He shook his head slightly as she continued. “Though that would be a good alibi, if I had wanted to kidnap you, it would be too close of a call for comfort.” The odd conversation continued for the rest of the drive until they had gotten to the restaurant, full of other pairs on dates of their own. When they had sat at the table, the girl asked him about his sister, but before he could answer the waiter had come by to take their drink orders. It wasn’t uncommon to have wine or some other type of drink at a dinner like this, but with how different she had already been from what he had expected, he knew something like that should wait just a bit longer as he got a better read on her and what she’d be interested in. He only asked for a water from the waiter before looking to at the girl to answer her previous question about his sister. “Yes, my baby sister. She’s this adorable 8 year old that could get away with murder, even if she was caught in the act. She flashes those big innocent eyes and you find yourself doing whatever she wants, especially if it involves a dog, because she must pet every dog she sees, and I can’t bring myself to say no and break her heart.”

“Well, you may even know some of the people I know at the school, so they could introduce me to you.”

“But who says I know anyone at that school?” Jess countered immediately with a slight smile playing upon her lips as she looked over at him in the driver seat - through his focus seemed to be fully on the road, “I could have just been a random girl off the street who snuck in,” she mentioned with a laugh. Though a slight frown soon replaced her lips when he told her that he wasn’t going to make a habit out of calling a girl by the wrong name. “Well then, I guess I’ll just stay ‘bathroom girl’ on your phone forever then, huh?” she added before they had reached the restaurant. Though the date hadn’t necessarily been going bad -hell it had only been about 20 minutes, she had no idea where this date was going. All she knew was Malachai seemed… stiff. Stiffer than a 98-year-old scotch she had once stolen from her grandfather’s study. Jess knew there was something… just underneath the surface. But she had absolutely no idea how to get it out.

Though a gentle smile played upon her lips as Kai talked about his sister. Well more boasted, but she loved it. It was just as adorable as the little girl sounded. If there was one thing Jessica could relate to was having siblings that could cause the world to fall down with the blink of an eye, but somehow, still, come out of it unscathed. There was something about the way he talked about his sister that gave Jess more insight into the man than any of his previous interactions had. “I think her and I would get along,” Jess grinned, before continuing “…trust me, If I see a dog - I’m headed in that direction immediately,”

“No, but honestly. She does sound like she’d love to hang out with my little siblings. They’re both five right now and can get me to do absolutely whatever they want and the problem is that the little rascals know it and use it against me all the time.” she explained. "…That’s actually why I was running a little late for our date. They called me and I was going to yell at them for being up at two in the morning but they had to tell me about this friend they met at playtime whose name is Andrew Button and is going to be their… let me get this right, because they did scream it enough times for me to remember word through word… ‘bestest friends forever’ " Jess told the man as the waiter came back, giving the two their glasses of water before asking for their order. Jess looked through the menu where she had found what she wanted and told the man before letting Kai order and turning back to him.

“So…” Jess started. She knew where this date was supposed to go. Classic dinner date: ask questions about each other to see if you were compatible or not, but Jess was and never would be the traditional girl. So instead, with a slight glimmer in her eyes, she looked at him. “… as John Kramer once said, do you want to play a game?” She questioned, though didn’t really wait for an answer. “Tell me, those two,” Jess asked, pointing at what looked like to be the most adorable old couple on their anniversary, “What do you think is happening over there. I imagine those two have been in love forever, probably got married at 20, and have been together ever since and are now celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary after having 3 kids, 8 grandkids, 2 dogs, and… hmm… a monkey. They seem like a curious George kind of family,” Jess guessed, a soft smile on her lips as she looked over to the two lovingly. “Oh and them?” Jess asked, discretely nodding over to what looked to be a couple on a date fighting. The girl truly looked about ready to throw a glass of whatever was in her cup at her date, though the two were obviously much younger than both Kai and Jessica. “I’m thinking she saw him flirting with their waitress, thoughts?”

“Well you did say that you had an essay to go write, and there was that guy you were trying to avoid, which brought you into the men’s bathroom in the first place, so I would assume that you weren’t just some random girl that snuck in. I’m sure you know a few people there.” A slight smile formed on Malachi’s face at her response to what he said about Ria. “She’s a handful, but she’s always a sweetheart.” Then, she continued to mention her own younger siblings and how they were the reason that she was delayed in being ready for their date. He nodded. “I understand that, really. Family, especially younger siblings, come first.” Malachi could always understand when things come up with family. “Alright miss Jigsaw, I’ll play along.” Malachi said as he looked first to the older couple. “Can’t disagree with you on any of that, not even the monkey.” Oddly enough, they did strike him as the type to have a monkey. Then he looked to the younger couple she pointed out and shook his head. “No the waitress was flirting with him. He barely noticed, so he didn’t reject it like his date wanted.”

"…Que esperabas? That I was waiting for you? That I just couldn’t get you off my mind?” He chuckled mirthlessly. “'Cause that’s not the case.”

It would be an understatement to say that Jái’s heart fell ever so slightly at the words. Nothing? Not even sliight nostologia thought about the months they had spent togehter? Every moment with one another - going on dates, enjoying each other’s company in the morning… and night. No one could say what they had wasn’t a whiirlwind romance. Sure, perhaps something deep down in Jacob had hoped that Luci had thought about him over the past few months. God knew he had. But wiith those words, Jacob was struck unable to speak as Luciano continued talking - up until he brought up the fact that he slept with Lui’s cousin… at his funeral.

Jái’s eyes fluttered close at what Jacob knew what all of this was about. He stayed like that for a few moments before finally continuing “You were going to break up with me, Lúi. You were going to leave me. Can you blame me for being upset… for getting drunk, for…” he was going to say finding comfort in someone else but he held himself back. Until, of course, Lui finally said that everything was over. With a sign, Jacob stood up - the music changing in the background. With that, Jacob put his hand out towards the man. “At least give me one last dance? And I’ll leave.”

“I don’t keep up, I get kept up with”

A slight smirk played upon Dan’s features as the girl mentioned that. It wasn’t hard to tell by just looking at her that she’d could have any man wrapped around her little finger. Or woman - Dan didn’t judge. Though, Val was vastly underestimating him if she thought he couldn’t keep up with her. “I think I can give you a run for you money Val… well… technically my money,” Dan joked pointing at the chips she was holding in her hand. Though what raised his eyebrow was when she explained she was ‘better than he’d expect’ at her poker face. Honestly, he wasn’t surprised. Dan was having trouble reading her since the moment in the elevator. Perhaps before that he had fooled himself before, thinking he knew her down to a tea. Valerie Wood - zero personality and sleeps with anyone or anything that moves. That was exactly what he thought about Valerie before he actually got to talking to her. Though he did respect her at the party, not following through with his threat to get him dirt on Candice. That took guts. God was he wrong about her.

“Well,” Dan smiled, “It’s a good thing we have all night and a sht ton of money for you to get back into it,” Dan grinned, putting his hand out as he leads her to an empty seat at an almost full poker table. A game was already in session, but sitting down meant that Val would be participating in another game. Most of the people at the table were men, with girlfriends behind them, showing a vast amount of PDA before anyone had even one. It only took Dan watching for a few moments to realize everyone’s tells. “Okay look,” Dan whispered in Val’s ear. “Guy on the right bluffs big time. Every time he has a bad hand, he raises the bet by exactly 500. Mr. suit over there doesn’t blink when he has a bad hand. It’s… fvcking creepy. Alfonso with the three women over there starts flirting with one of them when he has a bad hand or is flirting. And the guy immediately to your right checks his watch multiple times,” Dan told the girl. There were two people he hadn’t figured out yet, mostly because he was pretty sure they had good hands this round and he needed to watch them in a bad round to know. Though as one of the two he predicted won - one with a better hand, the dealer looked at them. “In or out?” Dan smiled, immediately answering, “She’s in,” leaning in before whispering the next part, “And she’s going to kick everyone’s ass,” he stated, before standing behind her, watching as everyone was dealt cards faced down.

“Well you did say you had an essay to go write, and there was a guy you were trying to avoid…”

And so he was smart too. She lifted her eyebrow at the words, a slight smile on her lips as she took a drink of her water. Most guys she’s been on a date with would have forgotten everything she had said during their brief interaction. “Guess you caught me, but I rather enjoy getting to know you without the supposed references. It keeps the mystery alive,” Jess joked. "Still can’t promise my references would give you a good recommendation though, " Jess added. It was true - most people at that school still hated her. There were only a few people who would say anything good at this point and she could count those on her fingers. Andy, Dan, Jezebel, Mikel. Hell. She could count them on one hand.

Though the smile stayed as the two talked about their siblings. God, she missed them. If it wasn’t for the camping trip, she’d probably skip school and go visit them the next day - with no care in the world. Though… she had her reasons for coming. That conversation with her little siblings was probably the most difficult - them begging her to stay. After all, she was probably the only family member the two saw consistently. Mum and Dad were always busy, going to conferences, charity functions, and anything else on their plate. Anna just… was another story. She didn’t think Anna had a conversation with the twins for longer than a few minutes every year at holidays.

The only people those two saw consistently was the nanny and her. “Yeah… I just don’t get to see them as much recently too so I just had to pick up… if that makes sense?” Jess replied to him explaining that he understood. Though the slight sad smile that reached her lips in an instant when he mentioned Jigsaw, getting the reference she had thrown in there. Agreeing to play her game as they looked around the room. A grin on her features as he agreed with her about the older couple. She watched as the two looked at each other, their hands intertwined as they looked at each other lovingly. Catching the waiter walking by, Jess pointed towards the table. “Hey, do you mind if we send over some dessert and wine to that table? Maybe a Tiramisu and a bottle of Château Bordeaux? Don’t tell them who it’s from and let them get anything else they’d like. And can I also get their cheque after they’re done? It’s on me.” Jess asked the waiter who, though surprised, nodded and after a few moments brought the couple what Jess had ordered. A smile on her features as the couple seemingly first tried to tell the waiter that they hadn’t ordered that, but soon followed by genuine happiness as they fed each other the dessert. The waiter had soon made his way back to her and told both Jess and Kai that the two wanted to express their gratitude.

Though in the midst of all of that, Jess had brought her head to the younger couple they were discussing, Kai adding that it was the waitress that was actually flirting with him. “You think so?” Jess asked, though a minute later when the waitress returned to their table, she saw the woman leaning over the table near the guy and raised an eyebrow at the scene. “I think you may be right, Kai” Jess added. “Alright, fine, how about we do someone a little harder?” Jess asked, “12 o clock, guy in the blue suit,” Jess asked, looking at the man’s table. From what she could tell, the man looked young - though most of his face was covered by the menu that the man was staring at far too long. “I’m going to say… he works on wall street and had a conference here. Probably waiting for a business partner or something but he’s… hmm… worried about his job.” Jess stated, “It does not take that long to read a menu, maybe he’s so nervous he’s reading it over and over again without actually reading it?” Jess mumbled, though still couldn’t see his face.

Though soon, the food had arrived, distracting her from the man. Though in moving to grab her utensils, Jess accidentally brushed Kai’s hand, watching as he jolted away - causing her to pause for a second. After a second, a slight sigh left her mouth. “Kai you honestly seem like you’re uncomfortable…” She started. “I don’t know if it’s me, or this atmosphere but…” Jess started, “How about this. I’m going to give you two options. One, I can end your misery here and we can go our separate ways or two, I’m going to need you to trust me for the next hour and go along with what I say,” Jess mentioned, looking him into his eyes trying to figure out which one he was going to choose.

"I think I can give you a run for you money Val… well… technically my money,”
She chuckled lightly and looked at the chips and back at him ”I’d love to see that” she replied with a smirk

“Well, It’s a good thing we have all night and a sht ton of money for you to get back into it,”
”Sounds like an amazing plan to me” she replied and looked around at all the people around, gambling and drinking, socialising and having a good time.
She looked at the people around trying to read them, but Daniel was a lot faster and more efficient than her, beating her to it with a much better answer than she could ever get to. She kept forgetting the guy was a certified genius.
Nodding lightly at his list ”Noted” she said quietly
”She’s in, and she’s going to kick everyone’s ass,"
She grinned at his comment and waited for the dealer to give her cards, picking them up and looking at what she got, keeping her poker face on and not exposing a thing, even though she had a good hand. That was how it worked, hiding emotions was a reoccurring thing lately wasn’t it?

@Benitz786 hello I dunno how to play poker but she’s gonna win :grinning:
