Books Similar to Harry Potter?

Harry Potter is one of the most iconic book series out there. Most families have read them more than once over the years so I think it’s time to make a thread about books that are similar to Harry Potter. These books will range from any age-appropriate books for those who read Harry Potter. I’m going to just list about 20 books form the GoodReads list but you can check out the link which will be at the bottom of this topic post. I read Inkheart along time ago but I need to reread it! I have never heard of Fableheavan until I found this list.

Thanks! Goodreads is a very helpful website for finding books.

I really liked these books. They were set in a world where mythical creatures all existed in one place, which I thought was a really interesting idea. I don’t remember what happened in them, however. They kind of remind of Barimaeus (because the same friend recommended them to me. Bartimaeus mostly just had magic, but featured some nice sarcastic commentary from Bartimaeus himself.

I never hated a books as much as I hate the book I was told to read because it was like Harry Potter. honestly the worst you can do to get people to read a book is comparing it to another because then they expect that and get something els.

I will think about checking it out but who knows.
