“I must…apologize,” The word hung loosely in the air, it’s meaning half-hearted at best. Even muttering the word pained Orpheus, although he attempted to keep the emotions clear from his expression. “My behavior toward you was less than dignified. A mix of childhood emotions and drunken thoughts. Nothing more. So, forgive me, Lord Keats, I must have forgotten myself.” Orpheus held his breath, fighting back the hot tears and anger that swelled just behind his vacant expression.
love the phrase and i can feel how physically difficult this is for Orpheus i love it
Ilyas found himself growing increasingly impatient. As Orpheus spoke, Ilyas’s gaze drifted away, his mind seeking refuge within its own corridors. He began to tune out the words, retreating into a realm of private musings. A subtle frown creased Ilyas’s forehead as he considered the upcoming task of finding a suitable match, a chore set by his father, the Duke.
DONT DRIFT AWAY listen to hm but yes do go and find a suitable match. Have babies- like 15 so we can secure the line
It was a shared sentiment, the fear of fatherly disapproval. It was something many noblemen carried, yet Orpheus had not considered the charming, arrogant, and obnoxiously composed Ilyas Keats to hold the same fear.
Harrison might be the only male here without extreme daddy issues wow and look aww they are so orphyilyas already hae so much in common
dont really think so but if yes aww
“Yes, it seems drunken outbursts are not a favored behavior among Dukes…” Orpheus nearly smiled, a joking lull in his tone despite the painful truth that was held behind it. He pulled down his sleeves as he spoke, and let his eyes gaze over Ilyas, curious and imploring.
wonder why…
aah you crave him being around do you now. They not beating the orphilyas allegations
agreed, this why harrison and ilyas are besties
“And here I thought the ton could usea sprinkles of banter, courtesy of the infamous Orpheus,” Ilyas added, his tone carrying a hint of flirty undertones as he continued to appreciate the lively dynamic between them.
so boyfriends
“Enough…” Orpheus breathed, softer now, nearly pleading. He could not handle any more of whatever this was. Whatever strange hatred clouded his vision and blocked his mind. Orpheus could not function in this solitude they stood in. He could not think. He could not breathe. He could not restrain himself.
i feel so bad for him actually
“You have taken everything…and now you postulate what sits in empty swirls of empty paintings in a room alone with me, for what?” Orpheus eyes were wild, angry, confused.
WHAT DID HE TAKE THO
“What do you hope to gain from these endlessly exhausting interactions?” Orpheus’ breathing quickened, his heart exploding in his chest with each word that left his mouth. He felt the weight of the words lifted from his shoulders as he spoke them, a relieving sort of unburdening.
fun
this was such a good way to end his post

part 2
Ilyas, though accustomed to their banter, was taken aback by the sudden shift in Orpheus’s tone. The tears in his eyes hinted at a vulnerability Ilyas hadn’t anticipated. The admission of weariness and the refusal to continue the game spoke of a deeper struggle within Orpheus.
ilyas just being like:
The accusation lingered in the air—the idea that Ilyas had taken something, perhaps unintentionally, from Orpheus. The mention of empty paintings and solitude painted a somber picture, loneliness that Ilyas hadn’t fully comprehended.
i cant comprehend it too, what did you take?
A wry smile played on his lips, a mixture of amusement and skepticism dancing in his eyes. “Orpheus, your poetic declarations do little to obscure the fact that you’re the one weaving intricate tales here. What exactly do you think I’ve taken from you?” The question, draped in a veil of indifference, was Ilyas’s way of steering the conversation away from potentially vulnerable territory.
legit said’stop all this bullcrap and get to the point’
A ghost of a smirk played on Ilyas’s lips, betraying a hint of amusement. “Ah, Orpheus, hate is a powerful emotion. It consumes, it twists, and yet, it also connects. Our dance, fueled by disdain, has a certain elegance to it, don’t you think?” His words carried a detached tone, as if he were analyzing a particularly intriguing puzzle.
