I know, but Bridgerton is like a copy of Jane Austen novels/adaptations just with sex added into the mix, so I hoed it be more like an Austen book but with sex … It was more like Gossip Girl but in the past
Something needs to happen with that
I agree!! I’ll message you
yes and Gossip Girl is exactly the same in terms of shallowness and judging people based on title/status
That’s a big part of what makes both Bridgerton and Gossip Girl drama shows
Ew.
I feel like that was why Bridgerton was so popular too
The drama is fun
Also the speeches>>>>
Idk, maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t get that from Bridgerton, I maybe focused more on the fact that it was supposed to be like Jane Austen, so I was blind to that
But now I think about it, there are no people in the show that don’t have titles except for the working class people who are poor and commoners … The show acts like there is nothing between working class and the elite
Why would there be tho
It’s a show about the elite
“You are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires” will forever be one of my favourite tv show quotes
Also “I will stand with you between the heavens and the earth…do you love me”
season 3 could never
That would be super fun though, to see how they view those who have a lot of money but no titles, or how they react to “new money” and stuff like that
And it would be really fun to see how at first theyre snobbish towards people like that, but have growth … Like in Downton Abbey when a Lord’s daughter ran off and married the driver and the family at first hated the driver and tried to pay him off to leave her, but later on he was considered the part of the family
the way i dont even remember colin’s speech
benedict needs to redeem the bridgerton men
I love Luke Thompson ![]()
It would be an interesting side story
But that’s not what Bridgerton is centered on
Yeah, thats a damn shame
When it’s not supposed to be like Jane Austen at all.
Unless you think all Regency era stuff is supposed to be like Jane Austen.
Bridgerton is pure drama with a focus on romance. It just happens to be a placed in a Regency era setting. And it’s certainly not known for its historical accuracy.
Honestly though from everything you’ve said, it sounds like you don’t necessarily like bridgerton. At least you don’t like the aspects of bridgerton that actually make it bridgerton.
This is a good point
The tv series is based off a book series
It’s following its own source material not another author’s work
I remember this.
