You know, I’m so happy childbirth evolved to be this awesome thing, like I’m so glad we’re using this method to childbirthing which was first thought of by this French king who had a kink of watching his wives and mistresses give birth and he put them in those positions so he could watch it for longer. I’m so glad we don’t have quick births becuase of this but ones lasting up to 20 hours or more …
There’s a movie about it starring Hugh Dancy and Jake Gyllenhal’s sister
WHAT?!
wait…he made them be in labor for longer?!
Exactly.
Yeah, and that position that prolongs childbirth is what you see everywhere now
Maybe.
Long live the King
Long birth the Queen (ig )
I think it was King Louie the 14th but I’m not sure
where are you learning these things?!
What I learned today:
Levi is a history buff
TikTok, Youtube …
again, I want to look this up but I’m scared ;-;
No I always found history boring … Until I found random fun facts, Horrible Histories and Karl Smallwood
It’s always the random ones that stick with you
Question (and I’m just intrigued because I have yet to learn about this) are there any empirically reviewed articles that go into more detail about this and exactly how much it prolongs it by?
I have no idea, but tbh you don’t need to read up on it because it was starting to be popular 200 years ago which means it probably would be the chosen position for Bridgerton era
Because I’ve learned that everything in medicine has a pro/con analysis and I’m curious to see what analysis they did to keep it on backs. Perhaps it’s simply safer for the baby? I’m unsure I’d have to look more into it
I’m in medicine
I should read up on it
When I have time after my exam I’ll look into some peer reviewed journals
well if you are standing and the kid drops on their head…
Well but that’s part of what I’m wondering
Is the benefit of reducing labor time with the risk of other issues?
