I looked it up quickly and one journal says that standing during second stage only reduces time by about 6 minutes

Tbh, from somebody not in medicine I’d think that prolonging childbirth probably has pros in being safer, maybe with a slower birth the doctors can deliver the baby safer?

I mean surely standing or at least on hands and knees is gravity assisted, so on the back would definitely prolong it as the mother would have to push twice as hard and often.
