April Irvin
I laid in my bed, fiddling with my bracelet deep in thought. I was still concerned for the girl I met this morning. She looked distraught, stress, tense. I sighed and sat up, a smile crept onto my face.
I stood up and made my way to the bathroom. I stared at the brush I threw into the sink and took in a deep breath. Grabbing the brush, I began combing through my tangled dark brown hair.
I took a shower and brushed my teeth, slipping into a blue dress and white heels. Putting my hair into a bun, I left a few strands down.
Staring at the mirror I smiled.
It was the first time in a long time I felt pretty.
I left the cabin and headed to the party.
Entering the party, campers were everywhere drinking unknown substances, swimming, and dancing. I was slightly freaked out by the energy, but got comfortable with it after a few minutes. I sat down at a table and watched everyone dance and smile.
I didn’t have a date, and to my knowledge it was mandatory. Hopefully I could talk to someone and play it off as a date.
I heard a cheerful yelp beside me. It was pretty hard to miss.
It was the girl from this morning.
I smiled and shook Eden’s hand.
“April. You can sit if you want.” I said gesturing to the seat across from me.
I gazed at her pink dress. “Your dress is… stunning!” I exclaimed.

I walked over to the bathroom to get ready. Everyone else had already left the cabin and headed to the party.
I didn’t have a date. I wasn’t going to stay for long however.
I took down my ponytail and played around with my purple hair. I hated the feeling of hair on my neck, I always preferred a ponytail.
I threw on a black dress and black heels and looked in the mirror. With a small smile, I left the cabin and headed for the forest.
Deep in the forest you could see tables filled with fountains pouring alcohol. I grabbed a drink from one of the Dionysus kids and examined the area. Turning around I bumped into someone nearly spilling my drink.
“Watch it Alec!” I yelled, checking to see if I spilled any wine on my dress.
“No it’s fine.” I said.
“You aren’t drunk already, are you?”

I rummaged through the bathroom looking for my pants.
They were right here!
I looked through the cabinet underneath the sink when Molly peaked into the bathroom holding up my pants. Looking over to her I smiled.
“Thanks…”
She rolled her eyes with a smirk as I grabbed the pants and finished getting dressed.
I played around with my hair and looked into the mirror, staring into my eyes.
“You got this. Its just a party with a friend. It’s not a date. It’s just a party. Don’t trip, don’t fall, don’t ruin your tux, don’t dance like a maniac- in fact, don’t dance at all-“
“Are you talking to yourself?” I heard Molly ask.
“Shut up!” I yelled closing the bathroom door.
I took a deep breath and smiled. “You got this.”
I left the cabin racing towards Luna Cabin.
As I got near I could see Katherine waiting for me. I grinned from ear to ear gazing at her.
I stood across from her and chuckled.
“You look… beautiful.” I said with a smile.
“I- uh…” I handed her a blood red rose.
“Got you a flower… it was one of the last that survived the… fire.” I smiled.
I outstretched my arm for her to take. “M’lady.”
