Camp Half-Blood: Siren's Cry || Official Roleplay

Evita Laberi || Arena

She nodded, putting her hands on her hips forming a confident stance. Evita couldn’t stand still, she had to move in some way. “You should,” she replied. Why would he not, combat was the biggest part of a demigod’s life. She was sure she helped him a ton.

“Alright,” Evita smirked. Getting new weaponry excited her. It was probably how kids felt getting new toys. Combat was her hobby, one of her favourite activities - it was nice getting new ways to do it. “You’ll find me in… Bellona’s cabin.” Evita still hated their system, but there was no other way he’d find her. She had to use it.

“You bet,” she smirked and picked up her sword. Evita was impressed by his confidence, maybe she misjudged him. Maybe he was a good person to know - she’d see soon. She twisted her sword in her arms, waved it around the air to get the sense of its weight. “Ready?”

@BlackBlood - Connor Beckett

how are we gonna do this? I’m guessing @katabasis needs to be tagged?

I’m so f-cking sorry for late replyyy

Holden Robé || Big House

Holden smiled awkwardly. He wasn’t completely sure how to reply without dismissing her beliefs. “I get that, but it’s not pity,” he stated. “You care about someone because you like them, you respect them, you get along… You understand them and want the best for them, not pity them.” He bit his lip, hoping she wouldn’t take it the wrong way.

Holden nodded timidly, looking down. It was getting more obvious to him that she was hurt before and he hated it. He wanted to offer his condolences but it was probably the last thing she wanted to hear, depending on everything she said about pity and people caring. Unsure of what to say, he let out a dry “That’s true.”

Holden shook his head with a smile. “Nah,” he told her. “Just… Thinking.” He didn’t want to seem negative, despite all the worry inside him, he continued smiling slightly. He wasn’t sure whether he should tell her what was on his mind for the exact reason he stated previously. It didn’t seem a good idea to rush friendship with her.

Holden chuckled, he liked her humour and how she took things lightly. Leilani was a fun person, he could tell. “I’ll take that into consideration,” he joked along. “I’m going to change everyone’s lives for the better, you’ll see.”

“At your service,” he said monotone, way to monotone for a joke. It still was very serious, they were just given a prophecy. “Of course I am,” he assured her with a short nod. Holden knew the situation was serious, his face had worry written all over it. There were hunts and quests, they witnessed a threat. Not the time to laugh. “I’m not sure bc neither am I, but I’m guessing they’re going to have to find something, someone.” Holden arched his eyebrows, struggling to remember the rest of the prophecy. “It’s not the luckiest quest to go on, I’m pretty sure someone’s gonna get hurt badly.”

Reina

Reina rolled out of her bed in the early morning, just as the sun was starting to slide over the horizon. She quickly dressed into her hunting outfit, the one she had worn for 2000 years and it was still far more comfy than anything these mortals had ever built, she thought to herself and scoffed as she left the cabin silently, so as not to wake her only remaining hunter.

Reina jogged around the camp until eventually she found the Bellona cabin. She opened the door as quietly as she could and tiptoed around, looking for the girl who had signed up for the hunt. When she found her, she gently shook their shoulder until they were awake. “Rise and shine, the hunt awaits darling Evita.” Reina whispered to her, so as to not wake any other campers who were still sleeping.

@firefly the hunt is starting, get Evita to put on hunting gear. If you were having a conversation then could you clone her please?

I sighed as I heard what Reuban had to say. “I would hate to say yes but you know that honestly you and I are in quite a bit of danger if this place goes to the underworld.” I took a deep breath. “I don’t think as a whole we will die and I am not usually a cynical person but I do think that we will lose people not necessarily because of the food shortage but if that is happening then you know that this place is in utter disarray.” I just kept walking I honestly didn’t know where I was going. Nature usually calmed me down but after what happened my quiet and calm place had been ruined for me at least momentarily if not permanently. “Do you think that the demigods will try to get rid of the creatures to save themselves if comes down to it?” I ask as I think about how I had not left this place since I had gone to go get Ajax years ago. I was too afraid to leave here but it now seemed that it was pointless to be afraid because it clearly was no longer safe here anyway.

Kaylen stopped walking and nodded slowly. “It’s okay, I understand. We’re in a unique situation. I shouldn’t have pushed so much.” She apologized. “Thanks for telling me though. So, why don’t we just focus on training at the arena? Since that’s what we actually set out to do.” She suggested, starting to walk towards the arena again.

The thought of the underworld was hideous enough. There were very few of us satyrs we’d easily die out in a single swipe. The whole camp would be tougher, but with this challenging new villain which seems quite confident in his abilities, there’s no doubt it’d be easier. The food shortage was a problem, but is the least of our worries.

“I think…” I thought. I looked back at my childhood, how I was so different compared to the others. How I felt like they were bigger than me even with goat legs. I was still unsure of how to answer this. “I think that… some kids would turn on us eventually. Think we’re no good.” And they were right. We didn’t have much to offer at the table. We weren’t fire or water manipulators like them. We were regular people, but with unusual legs and that was all.

“But… we should be hopeful.” I said to lighten the mood.

I followed Kaylen to the arena in silence as we set out to do.

Once we arrived I grabbed a sword from the armory and headed into the Greek coliseum. It wasn’t packed which I liked, more room for us. “So, 2 out of 3?” I asked. I know we’re suppose to be training, but I wanted to have some fun and make it a little competitive. I wasn’t very confident in my fighting abilities, especially compared to Kaylen and a competition would make me work a little bit harder.

Mabel stood by the grapevines ashes. They were bitter tasting from the smoke and fire. Her warm hands brushed the top of the remains as she gazed at gray. She had an unreadable face and expression. She spent the most of her day around the plants, caring and talking to them. The camp didn’t have a greenhouse so she had to speak rather quietly. Some campers stared, others just continued walking but Mabel wasn’t focused on their eyes, she was focused on sharing the stories of her childhood. A girl approached close to her. She had a variant blue hair and fair skin. Mabel gave a warm smile towards her and stood up. “Good morning, I’m Mabel.” She introduced herself, speaking in a soft and quiet voice as to not startle or scare the girl.

When they arrived at the arena, Kaylen threw her hair up into a high ponytail and walked over to get a sword. “That works.” She answered, nodding. She weighed the sword in her hand and contemplated taking out her hearing aids. She decided against it, giving Molly some distance before they started. A little friendly competition never hurt anybody. she thought, putting herself in a fighting stance, readying her sword.

Arden Mae Marino
With Bryan and Quintella || Quest Reaction

Despite the seemingly good news that there was a hotel nearby, available to them, Arden could not help but feel something off. Perhaps she was just paranoid due to the few stories that she had heard from other campers about resting somewhere while on a quest. In general, though, she felt the need to be cautious. Especially when she followed Bryan’s lead, looking over Quintella’s shoulder to see the map. The stars-- or were those snowflakes? --could not determine whether or not this was a great place to stay as a demigod or if walking inside would just be asking for trouble.
“I personally don’t think we should. Those symbols don’t necessarily mean this place is good… but I won’t fight if y’all think we should stay. I just need to lay down somewhere,” she answered, a pout forming on her lips. Granted, it would not be too bad if she could get a quick shower. Her whole body was covered in sweat despite having had a few minutes to rest.

Alone || Outside Big House

Despite everything that happened- from the snake to the gods to the new prophecy -Cress was feeling pretty good right now. Well… Anyway, since there were people around, there was a small smile on her face. It was constantly there. It would begin to hurt any normal person, but she forced at least a small, gentle smile on her face whenever someone may see her.
She unsure where to go now. It was so early in the morning to be putting on her usual act. After a moment of thinking she decided that she would go to the strawberry fields. Well, the small portion that was not damaged. There, she could take a walk in monotonous peace and allow herself a quick breather. It’s not like anyone could really sneak up on her. Cress had already decided that she would most likely go to the stables after her stroll in the fields.
So she began walking towards the fields, not in any particular rush.

Ajax Taylor

Without Andrea and her cabin, life would certainly be much harder for Ajax, but Ajax was still the one who had to make the calls. “Well it won’t be easy, but thanks.” Then Ajax was a bit surprised by Kara having heard the quote he mumbled. Usually when he mumbled something like that the only person to ever notice was Andrea, which was part of the reason they got along. Ajax heard so much Shakespeare as a kid where it would only be normal for him to quote it once in a while. Even with everything going on in camp he couldn’t help but chuckle slightly at her comment. “Well, I don’t expect a beheading anytime soon, but as a demigod it’s not entirely unlikely, and as camp leader, sleep is not always a guarantee. Camp leader is a large responsibility, for good or bad, everything is on me. There’s a lot to think on and be concerned about at any time, and I just have to hope that I can make the right decisions.” Ajax looked to Kara as she began to walk. He paused a few seconds contemplating, then nodded and followed along with her. He needed a chance to clear his head, even if just for a short while. “Yeah I’m coming. I could use some random walking and existence contemplation.”

I knew that Reuben like me was thinking the worst but he didn’t want to admit it he didn’t want to come out and say that the creatures especially the satyrs would be the first gone if everyone went to turning on each other to survive. “Yeah, and I am not even sure who would be the first ones. You do have an advantage I don’t though.” I mumble the last part to myself and follow it up with a sigh. I knew that Reuben was starting to wonder what we even offered to the table in comparison to the demigods. “We won’t truly die is the issue. Not in the conventional sense any way just like the nymphs wouldn’t.” I kept walking still unsure where we were going. “At least we hold more worth to ourselves than those of us from the Roman camp that go by fauns they are utterly useless.” I huff as I try to stop working myself up.

“Good morning, I’m Mabel.” she said in a soft and quiet voice. It was like she was trying not to startle or scare Ray, It wouldn’t have if she tried. “My name is Ray. What do you think about everything going on?” Ray hasn’t really been herself since Bryan left camp on the quest. She just hopes he comes back alive.Ray hoped her worry didn’t show in her voice. She still hadn’t made that many friends at the camp. Mable might just be the person she needs right now to take her mind of Bryan’s quest

Although he said it quietly, I could hear what Finn said and he was right. I’ve been here for so many years I’ve seen kids come and go and I’ve seen many kids die. I try not to become friends with everyone, as I know they’ll either leave camp or die, but I can never help myself. Practically everyone knows and has… a mutual… respect for me. But Finn? Finn is quiet, keeps to himself. Not many people know him. He’d be easy to butcher with no guilt.

I chuckled at Finn. I try not to think anyone is truly useless, but the fauns… aren’t the most helpful you have to admit. I was hoping we’d start to see a clear destination some point soon.

I couldn’t get the thought off my mind, I had to ask him. “Finn… were you contemplating joining the dark side?”

I noticed how Kaylen didn’t take her hearing aids out. By chance, I didn’t want to knock her hearing aid out. I gave a worried face, but relaxed my shoulders and took a stance as did Kaylen. I figured I’d have to do the first swing, which I hated. I swung my sword above her head, as the sound of swords clashing filled the room.

Ray is a nice name, it has a ring to it. Mabel nodded to her words to show interest. She took a deep breath and crouched down towards the grapevines, the dry grapes in between her finger tips and the melancholy leaves sagging. “Well… it’s an unfortunate string of events.” Mabel explained. “But, we are problem solvers aren’t we?” She smiled at Ray, a strand of her curly red hair hung in front of her eyes. Mabel was unfamiliar with the camp and everyone else, but she assumed most of them were loyal to the camp. “How long have you been here?”

|| Accompanied by Laron Abernathy, son of Hermes, and Francesca Loski, daughter of Juventas ||

“Come on, Ginger boy! You’ve told me it’s just a few minutes away! I can’t carry the guy all the way there alone!”
The girl’s desperate words felt like a stinging slap. One look at her pale face covered in dirt was enough to drag Scott’s mind back to the harsh reality.
They weren’t safe yet.
Laron must have lost consciousness again, as his body became twice as heavy to carry. The only thing that made Scott believe the boy was still alive was his unsteady breathing.
What in Zelus is goin’ on with the lad?! He seemed okay when he was tryin’ to escape just an hour ago!
Collecting all of his remaining energy, Scott clenched his teeth and tightened the grip around Laron’s waist, moving forwards. He needed to hold on for a little longer.
Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot.
“Hey! Is this the place?”
“Wh-”
Francesca shot him an ugly glare, then shortly pointed with her free hand somewhere in front of them. The stress and exhaustion almost made him snap at her but luckily, he managed to control himself. Scott obeyed her, and to his surprise, he immediately recognized the buildings standing in the distance.
Cabins. Stables. Armory. The Big House.
“Aye,” Scott grunted, struggling under Laron’s weight. “We’re close.”
The sight of Camp Half-Blood made his heart beat faster with excitement and relief, making him almost forget about everything that had happened. Almost.
“Uh… Ginger, are you really sure you’re not mistaken? This place looks like it was bombed.”
Suddenly, the world turned much darker as he started noticing details he had missed at first.
Ashes spread across the fields. Clouds of thick smoke hanging over the camp. Deadly silence.
“A… A have to find Ajax… Or some other cabin leader.”
A need somebody to give me answers.

All three approchable

Important : Scott was one of the chosen demigods for the last hunt for food and supplies. Now he’s the only demigod of the original line-up to come back alive. Laron escaped CHB a few days before the hunt and now after being caught, he’s being taken back. Francesca is a Roman demigod who had been living in Camp Jupiter for the last three years until it was destroyed.

“Dont think like that about me. I may not have many relationships here but those I do are with rather important people who hold quite a bearing here. I was meaning you have been out in the world I haven’t not sense I almost lost a kid when I was sent to bring him back here.” I say sighing as I sit down in a field of tall grass. “Why would I think of that if you havent really realized yet I am about the most pacifistic person here.” I look up at him and pat the ground beside me. “We will be fine. We all trust each other enough we will make it work out.”

Finn was always very practical, if it wasn’t important he didn’t want to waste time on it. Finn did have connections with the most important people at camp but I wouldn’t say I did. I was still questioning who would be first on the chopping block for whatever reason. Isfet seemed pretty persuasive, telling kids they can be powerful like him, surely someone thought about it. Isfet however, could not and would not offer full control. They’d be under his thumb, the queen in a chess game. But the queen is the most powerful piece. I sat next to Finn on the muddy ground and looked at the sky as it began to clear up to a bright blue. “What about that prophecy?” I said. “Sorry, sorry… I just can’t get it off my mind.”

“6 or 7 months. Your one of the new campers right?” Ray was trying to make a conversation, she really isn’t good at talking to people other than Bryan. Was Mable loyal like she was to the camp or loyal to wherever she came from before the fall of New York.

Mabel stood up and dusted off her blue jeans. She folded her arms in front of her, tilted her head and listened to Ray. Ray was comfortable around Mabel. Usually it was harder to gain people’s trust, but Ray was quite easy. “Correct.” Mabel said nodding. “This is the first home I’ve ever known.” Which was true, as much as she’d hate to admit it. Her 150 acre mansion with her parents never made her feel safe. She doesn’t miss her old home, but she doesn’t deny that she’ll miss Camp Half-Blood.

Our swords clashed creating tiny sparks. I grunted. Kaylen was strong and had great tactics as well as stamina. I didn’t waste- or dedicate my time to training, plus I haven’t been here as long as Kaylen so I’m not very seasoned. I stepped backwards as Kaylen swung her sword. I moved forwards swinging at an angle to keep myself from backing up.

I felt like she was my teacher and I was a student. Telling me what I had trouble with. Took me back to elementary. I shook off those memories and got my head into the game. I had to win, to prove to her that I was useful. I don’t know what was about her that made me desperate, but I wanted to prove her wrong. I wanted to impress her. I took a deep breath, and waved my sword around to get comfortable with it’s weight. I took another deep breath and got my mind into focus, ignoring the background noise. It was difficult, but I got there, like I always did.

I swung first not giving her a go, but I doubt she was surprised. I swung vertically which was hard to block, but easy to dodge and easy to offend. It was just the beginning and I already f*cked up.

“I try to ignore the prophecies. I know that sounds bad but that way you can remain as innocent as possible when things eventually go South as things always do with the prophecies.” I sigh and look up at the sky I was trying to think of who might take Isfet up on his offer out of all the kids that were nowhere. I could honestly see some of the kids who’s parents were some of the more dark gods contemplating it at the very least. “I get it. Its hard to not think about it.” I sat up a bit and looked at Reuben. “Who do you think would join him if any of these kids?”

Evita groaned as she heard someone come in. Did they not know privacy around here? She blocked the sunlight shining into her eyes, it was bright outside. At least that meant it wasn’t five. Still, she was tired. She didn’t want to get out yet.

Her hope appeared false as the person approached her. Her eyes still closed, she only heard the footsteps. Maybe if she pretended to sleep they’d leave her alone. But it didn’t, it only made the situation worse. The stranger grabbed her shoulder and started shaking. It was a standard waking up technique, yet Evita hated it.

“Can you-” she began with an aggressive tone before opening her eyes. It was the huntress, assigned for the hunt. “Oh. Hi.” Still a tad drowsy, Evita subtly nodded. “Right, uh, let me just change,” she notified Reina and exited into the bathroom. Switching her nightshirt and trousers for a black bomber jacket, a black t-shirt and black spandex cigarette pants. Supposedly, black made her seem taller.

She ran back outside, assuring Reina: “Just a moment,” as she put on her black trainers. When the laces were tightly tied and she was sure she was ready, she nodded towards Reina. “Alright, I’m ready, what now?”
