Camp Half-Blood: Siren's Cry || Official Roleplay

Alyx Dorison

Alyx couldn’t help but laugh at the amount of sarcasm in his voice. “Y’know, when I came out and told my dad I was changing my name, he hated it. Kept trying to get me to change it. He came around eventually though.” They told him, playing with the cuff of their jacket. “It’s short, which is why I haven’t been able to come up any nicknames that don’t make me sound like a middle aged man.” They quipped, smiling. “Hey, can I ask you something?” They inquired sheepishly.

Caspian Bell || Previous night
Caspian furrowed his eyebrows, confused, as the guy ‘shook’ his hand with two of his fingers and then acted as if his hands were filthy. Once he’d let go, Caspian retracted his hand, unsure of what to do next. What his problem? He thought to himself as the guy introduced himself, but failed to mention his godly parent. “I’m assuming you’re the son of Aphrodite, since you’re looking for her cabin.” He commented, putting his hands in his pocket.

I had hardly gotten any sleep from the rough mattresses Camp Half-Blood provided. I’m not complaining, I’m lucky to have a home but it was not easy to fall sound asleep.
I sat up from my bed and looked around the room. Jaxson was no where to be found.
I’m sure he’s fine… he’s probably in the dining pavilion
With a sigh I tossed the covers off of me and scanned the room.
Pulling them from underneath my bed, I grabbed my prosthetic legs and attached them to my stumps. I stood up and headed to the bathroom.
Running my fingers with struggle through my tangled dark hair, I grabbed a brush and combed through it. I squeezed my eyes shut and letting the comb pass through my hair. With grunts and groans I gave up, tossing the brush into the sink.
I brushed my teeth and left my cabin, without bothering to change.

I grabbed some pancakes and examined the room. My eyes landed on my brother talking to another guy.
I sighed and looked down at my pancakes with a small smile. Looking back up to his distraught expression. With a chuckle, I turned back around to a girl aggressively stabbing her breakfast.
“Rough morning?”
I asked, setting down my plate and taking a seat across from her.

:money_with_wings: Levi Brandy :money_with_wings:

I sighed, inspecting the terrain.
Cabins lined up with a walkspace down the middle. All of the cabins had markers. There were some that were less durable than others.
The dark, starry night loomed down upon the camp. You could only see a few feet in front of you. You could hear faint sounds of waves tossing and turning if you paid attention. An eerie silence was all that was left.
It sent a shiver down my spine.
I’m not afraid of the dark… I’m just scared of what’s in the dark.
“Unfortunately so…” I explained.
I squinted my eyes and tilted my head.
“Wait… your… parent is… a planet?”
I could take a talking snake and silver arrows but a planet for a parent?

Caspian cautiously stepped closer to Levi, flashlight in hand. Wondering what he was looking at, he panned his flashlight across the horizon, admiring the way it looked at night. He looked over at Levi as he admitted to Aphrodite being his mother, shooting him an unimpressed look as he made the comment about his mother being a planet. “I’ll have you know, my mother is the goddess of love and beauty.” He told him, matter-of-factly. “The planet just happened to be named after her. I mean, it’s the planet of love for a reason.”

Marcus shook his head, a cocky grin still readable upon his face. “You wish,” He retorted, although his voice lacked the usual snarky or sarcasm it usually held. Marcus wasn’t an athletic person, it was true, but he did have strategy and it was the only thing he could count on. He kept a calm demeanor as they sparred, unlike his Roman companions he wasn’t bloodthirsty or violent. All he wanted was a nice and simple spar, although Arden was proving to be quite the challenge. He assessed the situation with careful eyes, how might he be able to win this? He lunged forward, he definitely had a disadvantage without any for of defense. But Marcus recalled a memo, something every Roman camper learned. Offense is the best defense. If it was possible to stage a a vicious attack on the offense, to make her grow tired quicker - could he win? He could try. Marcus moved forward and began a frenzied offense on Arden- parrying, swiping, and more. If he could cause his stamina to outlast hers. He might win. “I hope you’re not tiring out,” he remarked, a small smirk on his face as he delivered another. “En garde, my dear, the games have just begun.”

Katherine Tania Kolchis || Current Day ~ Connor

Katherine didn’t sleep last night. It wasn’t as if she didn’t want to sleep- but rather she couldn’t, twisting and turning in her bed at night, thinking of all the things that had befallen the camp. It was a tiring process, not to mention it stole her precious sleep - Katherine’s favorite part of the night. She shrugged on a simple shirt and jeans, lacing up her sneakers before heading outside. Unlike the first day, it wasn’t raining. Instead, it was cloudy outside and the drafts of wind blew through the camp, providing a cold day. But it was still a beautiful die, Katherine wouldn’t deny. It took a long time for Katherine to find the armory, because she never went to the armory before - whether at Camp Jupiter or here. She did healing and helped around in the camp and didn’t trouble herself with fighting. However, with all the recent commotion and such she decided it might be wise to acquire a weapon. She saw someone in the armory and tapped his shoulder (Connor). Giving him a bright smile, she asked, “Do you know if Camp Half-Blood has anybody to work on weaponry?” She paused before elaborating, “I need someone to work on a pair of daggers for me.”

She noticed his brief glance towards what seemed to be a laptop. Although she was not completely sure since she was relatively new to the camp, was it really okay to have that here? Maybe she would ask later on if the conversation started to drag. Although what she considers to be dragging would probably differ from the average person greatly.
Cress merely laughed, her hand rising to block her mouth as he deepened his voice. Well… at least he seemed rather interesting so far. “Ah, yeah! Roman, apparently! I… haven’t known for too long,” she admitted sheepishly. “I’m not gonna lie, I don’t know much about, well, uh… mythology?” Her head tilted as her eyes narrowed yet a semi-awkward laughed quickly left her mouth. Given that it was all supposedly real, was that still the correct term?
Her eyes trailed back down to him as he began speaking again regarding the population of satyrs at the camp. Although she wanted to tell him that she was sure that wouldn’t be the case, the topic seemed a bit too heavy for her tastes and his current mood. So instead, she brought a smile onto her face again and moved forward with the conversation. “It’s nice so far! I mean, that whole herpes-- wait, no, that’s not right… harpies! Harpies… Yeah, that whole situation was a biiiit worryin’,” she feigned sheepish confusion before regaining her lively tone as she spoke again. “But otherwise, it’s been great! I don’t know a ton of people yet but the few I have met have been… relatively nice!”

Her brow rose but other than that, she wore a somewhat similar expression on her face. In the end, one of them was bound to be at least a bit butt-hurt over the fact that they loss. She could not imagine either of them ending on a draw since their arrogance and competitive nature was arguably both of their most notable characteristics.
Although she had been waiting for him to go on the offense, knowing he would take the bait, she admittedly did not expect the consistent onslaught of attacks that quickly followed. It did not take her long to recover, thankfully, as she managed to successfully stay on defense. Yet she finally noticed that sweat was beginning to drip and burned against her hot skin. It took a lot to get her any where near tired at this point but perhaps Marcus realized that. Was he trying to tire her out for an even playing field? Well, that’s a bit of a cocky assumption but she assumed it must be something along those lines. The now present sweat combined with his words (ex: “my dear”) caused her to shiver. Surprisingly, that is what helped him land a blow on her, finally. It seemed that his words always got the better of her for some reason.
With a small frown, she focused on putting some distance between them for a moment just to shake the uneasiness away. “Oh no, I never tire,” she said just before approaching him once more in a manner similar to how he had initially started. Although she remained more defensive in the end, finally starting to feel the effects of everything. Literally everything. She would not allow herself to stop though since that is just the way she is.

@katabasis || Marcus Alright! I can try looking for a way to randomly choose when I have get back home later since I’m leaving for just a bit once I finish writing this!

Akio Moore
Mess Hall || With Ariel

Before he had even really realized it, a good portion of the morning had slipped by silently. Well, for him anyway. Although he got up early, it was pretty habitual for him at this point-- it had not been for any special reason. He had spent the majority of the morning either reading or sketching in a small notebook that he liked to refer to as his “field journal”. He’d often waste time by drawing the various greenery around him, getting close to it at times so that he could get a clear and accurate depiction despite his poor artistic skills. After all, it always helped him to do different entries for individual plants.
Yet a change of scenery was needed. So Akio grabbed the journal and book with smooth movements and began to leave until he saw a familiar face although it had not fully registered at first since he had not been at Camp Jupiter too long.

@Caticorn || Ariel Sorry this is a bit short and took me awhile! I hope it’s an alright starting point (:

She nodded at his statement and kept looking on. She knew he was still keeping something to himself but she did not press any more than what she had already done knowing it would be a dead end. She listened on and then nodded her head. “Okay.”

“If you say he’ll agree then fine,” she said. She pondered about it for a little while. If she did this then she’d be paying back the camp for taking her in and prove she’s not a traitor. “Fine, I’ll come with you,” she told him before rising to her feet. “When you convince the other person and Ajax, you can always look for me in the Nephthys cabin,” she said before walking off to do something else.

Ariel sat in the the mess hall, kicking her legs as she held the front end of the chair. After eating breakfast this morning, she had wandered around the camp for a while, peeking into the stables to see if she could spot the horses. When she was unsuccessful she continued wandering, her hands in the pocket of her fuzzy hoodie to keep them from getting cold. Eventually she found her way to the mess hall and sat down in the chair she was currently occupying. She looked around the round, trying to spot someone to talk to when she spotted someone she recognized from Camp Jupiter. Offering him a big smile as she pulled up her hood, she hopped off of the chair and walked up to him, waving to him. “Hi, I’m Ariel.” She told him, her voice quiet and shy.

Camila wandered around just thinking about all that has happened lately. With the Empousas, gods/goddesses, among other things. Just walking helped to clear her mind eventually after getting through all of the things that could’ve happened. She sat down and zoned out, looking at what’s around her. She could’ve done something to help the crops that were going to burn, but was too late. She sighed and felt someone’s presence behind her. She slowly turned around to see who it was. She recognizes her, but she never really got to know everyone. “Hello.” She said simply before turning back around. “What are your thoughts?” She asked considering she was right there, their must be something running through that mind. She hoped her name may come to mind because she disliked not knowing much about her, it’s always helpful to.

Alec Lance

Alec walked over to the strawberries. The sight uplifted his mood. The sweet and delicious fruit was one of his favorite things to eat. Once he reached the fields he spotted a girl sitting there. He ran a hand through his hair. How should he walk up to her. He doesn’t want to scare her or seem like some creep. He waited as he thought before mentally face palming himself. It’s creepy enough to be just standing there thinking. He then started to walk up to her, “How so you like it?” He questioned before thinking to himself about how odd it seems. He shook his head. She seemed like the quiet type so he hoped he didn’t scare her. That would probably be the worst option.

Sienna Wardolf

Sienna was near the cabins, leaning against a tree reading. She wasn’t an avid reader, but it’s always good to help pass time. She was only a quarter through her book when she spotted a girl passing by. She caught eyes with her and waved at her. “Hey!” She gave a smile. Along with hanging out with people is also a good way to pass time. “I’m Sienna.” She said and slowly got up, off the ground dusting herself off. Anddddd, she figured out that she sat in plain dirt. Not one of the best choices of hers. She put a few pieces of hair behind her ear before putting her bookmark in her book and closing it. She got pretty far in a 45 minutes for her.

I sighed.
Talking distracted me from the surrounding darkness. I felt some form of comfort with Caspian’s flashlight, however it only illuminated the spot we were standing.
The hoot of an owl echoed throughout the camp.
Looking around swiftly, a chill went down my spine.
I cleared my throat.
“So do you happen to know where the Aphrodite cabin is…?”
I asked, unable to meet his eyes.

:waxing_crescent_moon: Connor Beckett :waxing_crescent_moon:

It was a cool day. There was an elegant breeze that carried throughout the camp, delivering goosebumps to every nearby camper.
I don’t mind the cold, it does dawn on my pyrokinesis. It’s nearing the end of September which means much colder weather, so I better get used to it quickly.
My alarm blared at 7AM like every morning. Now that’s one thing I’ve never gotten used to.
I gently pushed the button deactivating it and crawled out of bed.
I changed into black jeans, my camp-half blood t-shirt, a leather jacket, and some simple black converse.
I didn’t intend on wearing mostly black though.
I glanced up to Molly who remained asleep. I smiled lightly and left the cabin.

As I stepped out of the cabin I was hit with the crisp autumn breeze. I shivered and stuck my hands into my pockets.
I entered the armory that provided some form of warmth.
I gazed at the reflective swords that could cut through an arm effortlessly. I’m good at metalwork, but not great. These swords… were great, though limited.
I reached out to grab one to admire up-close when I felt a tap on my shoulder.
With a slight jump I turned around.
“Uh…”
I quickly glanced at the swords behind me.
“Yeah that would be me…” I scratched the back of my neck.
Outstretching my arm I grinned. “Connor Beckett!”
“So uh, is there a specific material you’re interested in?”

:horse: Reuben Fletcher :horse:

“That’s alright, there’s not much to be worth knowing to be blunt.” I explained with a smile.
I reached over and grabbed my mug and took a sip of coffee.

“It’s nice so far! I mean, that whole herpes-- wait, no, that’s not right…"

Choking on my coffee, I set the mug back on the table and struggled to contain the cough.
Turning my face away I coughed several times.
“Sorry…” I said, a hoarseness to my voice.
Clearing my throat I tried to recall what she was saying.
“That’s good.” I nodded, trying to recover.
“Have you done any training? I suggest learning how to deal with a sword.”

 Colton-Elliot Novack

I waited for her response as she debated to herself.
I felt like I had to run a mile. There was a creeping pain in my stomach.
What if she says no? Then what will I do? There’s nobody similar to her, I need her for this. Maybe I could ask someone else? But either their too nice or too mean… she has to say yes!
I looked up to her and grinned with a sigh of relief.
I stood up and waved to her.
“Bye!” I said way too enthusiastically.
“Yes!” I exclaimed to myself, jumping up and down and dancing in triumph.
I abruptly stood still when I remembered there was other people in the area. Awkwardly waving at them, I left the Dining Pavilion off to find the next person.

~ Quest One: Chapter 6~

“We need him,” Bryan responded to Quintella before offering a hand to help Quintella up who took ignored it and got up on her own. The pair turned to the snake monster where Arden had it pinned against the wall, struggling.

“Tell us, how did you know we were here?” Arden demanded.

“All of you demigodssss stink, and this issss an obvioussss hub we’ve been observing- it doesn’t take a geniussss.” The snake spat at her. “We informed the boss and he told ussss what to do- nothing personal.”

“And who’s the boss?”

“Sssspeaking hissss name alone isss enough to turn me into dust, much lessssss you ssssspeaking it,” The snake thing sneered at her. “On your way to Lossss Angelessss, instead of Canada which is where you sssshould be heading you trio are a bunch of dumbassessssss-” The snake clamped it’s mouth shut.

“Canada, the underworld is in Los Angeles?” Bryan responded. The snake kept quiet until Arden pressed the dagger a bit deeper into his throat.

“You’re all ssssstupid ‘Where those are named the kindessssst’, is that not Canada?” The snake grumbled.

The trio glanced at each other and Quintella gave a small shrug before interrogating the snake further, “Where exactly in Canada?”

“Why would I tell you? The bossss will kill me or you will.”

“We’ll let you go,” Bryan intervened much to the horror of Arden and Quintella. “Tell us where to go and we’ll let you live.”

An hour later, 3 bagels and a stolen car the trio was on the 8 hour highway ride to the place where the kindest people supposedly resided.

“Ontario, Canda,” Quintella repeated as she slammed on the pedal, speeding through the streets and weaving around the cars in their way.

“Quintella you’re going to get us a ticket! Slow down!” Bryan exclaimed as Quintella recklessly continued to drive through the traffic. “You’re going to kill us!”

“Maybe if you ask nicely, the Norse gods can revive us.” Quintella quipped, laughing slightly. “Why don’t we try it?”

“Quintella…slow down.” Arden called from the backseat.

“And who died and made you Queen of the gods?”

The bickering continued for hours until Arden fell asleep and they were across the borders and into Canda- Quintella having flirted her way through customs enforcement, and flashed meaningless pieces of paper at them. It took awhile and few driving switches but eventually Arden pulled into a quiet neighboorhood where a rickety house barely stood.

No need to do anything, I’ll be posting more later.

For a moment, Akio was genuinely shocked that the little girl had approached him. In his past experience, people tended to watch him from a distance with reasons unknown to him. If he had to guess, he just assumed that his face was too intimidating and his features too sharp. So… it was nice that someone was interested in talking to him, even if only a small child.
Knowing that she must be more nervous than him, he did his best to speak ‘normally’, though his voice did maintain it’s signature smoothness at a low volume-- he could not force much enthusiasm when speaking but he could, at the very least, have an air of friendliness about him. “Oh, it is nice to meet you, Ariel,” he replied with a small, kind smile. Akio waved back down at her, the height difference larger than he was use to. Uncertain as to whether or not this would make her any more comfortable, he got down on one knee so that he was closer to her height. This way, he would not have to look down at her quite as much when speaking; it put them on the same level. “I’m not sure if you recognize me but I’m Akio from Camp Jupiter… What are you doing right now, though?”

She had somewhat anticipated his reaction to her misnaming the harpies. Well, perhaps not the choking bit but she expected something among those lines. It was difficult but she had to refrain from letting a genuine smile carelessly slip only because it would reveal an aspect to her true characterization that she was not ready to show. Despite this, though, it had appeared for a brief moment as he turned away to cough.
As he apologized, she merely waved her hand to dismiss it as if to insist that it wasn’t necessary.
His follow-up suggestion, however, had her nose crinkling and a frown surfacing. “Oh no, trust me. I don’t need it.” Cress shook her head, silent for a moment before she realized that her response was not quite in line with how she usually acted. With a small smile, she added, “I just… refuse to inflict serious pain on anyone or anything, that’s all. Guess you could say that I’m a bit of a pacifist.” A laugh accompanied the last statement. “Anyway, do you know how to use a sword? I’m gonna guess that ya do since you suggested it just now?”

Bryan knocked first and Quintella hissed at him, “What the f-ck are you doing?”

“…Knocking on the door.”

“You don’t know who’s in there.”

“Well what’re we supposed to do?”

“You’re supposed-”

“Can you munchkins shut it,” a croakety old voice bellowed from behind the door. “D-mn, y’all make me happy I can’t see your yapping traps.” The door opened to reveal an old man staring at them with an annoyed yet expectant expression.

The trio paused, Bryan rubbed the back of his neck and Quintella crossed her arms meanwhile Arden gave a deep frown tugging the corners of her mouth.

“I’m guessing you’re blind,” Bryan finally remarked.

“And I’m guessing you’re stupid…duh.” The man drawled, grumbling his graying hair and long beard wiggling as he moved aside and invited them in. “Come on in would you.”

Bryan stepped forward before he got pulled backwards by his shirt by Quintella who looked towards Arden, “You first.”

“Why m-” Arden objected before Quintella pushed her forward

Arden stepped cautiously on the creaking floorboards beneath her, a fireplace lit at the end of the hall with couches circling it. Bryan and Quintella walked behind her and the old man coughed before shutting the door and moving to the couch, passing them by.

“Your camp is in trouble, isn’t?” The man asked.

“Their camp,” grumbled Quintella, pointing to Bryan.

“And your camp too until Jupiter decides to rise from the ashes like miracle- which I don’t doubt from Jupiter’s pride.” Thunder crackled as the man chuckled.

“Who are you?” Arden demanded.

“The name’s Tiresias, and as I understand your camp’s magic system is very broken.” He sighed and rubbed his bald head, you’ll have to fix that if you have any chance of defeating Isfet.

“Isfet, you mean Aphophis?” Bryan questioned.

“Did I stutter d-mnit, I said Isfet.” Tiresias snapped at Bryan before pointing to the opposite couch. “Sit. Quickly ask your questions, we haven’t all day.”

Give a little reaction and maybe have them ask questions, no more than 2.

Ariadne was slightly mellow about the entire ordeal, parties were wonderful ( and fun! ) but a party over someone dying didn’t seem much like a party at all. It seemed more like a funeral, but it obviously wasn’t. Ariadne took a deep breath as she clenched the green fabric of her dress, walking with a group of others into the forest clearing. It’s just supposed to be a fun time, let me clear my mind. Ariadne took a deep breath and fixed a smile onto her face, a smile perfected by years of hiding her feelings - as she would do now, once again. She grabbed a drink that was bloodred red, she didn’t have a clue what was in the cup but she guessed some Dionysus kid had poured it and that it seemed good enough and so she downed it. The taste of alcohol ran down her throat and she savoured the sweet taste, she may been hung over by tommorow but that was alright - right now she needed some liquid courage. She began to wander until she bumped into someone, a boy and Ariadne recognized him from the Venus cabin although she couldn’t recall his name. She flashed him a broad smile before introducing herself to him, it was a good time to meet new people after all. “Sorry! I don’t think I’ve seen you around before though…I’m Ariadne, you?”

Caspian followed the other campers through the forest, even though something about this whole celebration thing wasn’t sitting right with him. Why would we be partying after someone died? He thought as he walked, hands in the pockets of his grey suit. He managed to swallow his feelings of unease as he walked into the party, the atmosphere offering him a form of comfort. However, his uneasy feeling threatened to return as he saw the alcohol in the cups. He wandered around, partially in search of a non-alcoholic beverage. As he was walking, he felt someone bump into him. When he saw a girl he somewhat recognized, he smiled at her. After she apologized and introduced herself, Caspian straighten out his tie and cleared his throat. “Hi Ariadne, I’m Caspian.” He introduced himself, head held high as he attempted to exude his usual confidence. “I’m from Camp Jupiter, that might explain why you haven’t seen me around.” He added in.
