Camp Half-Blood: Siren's Cry || Official Roleplay

Reina

“Too many, but still not enough.” Reina muttered under her breath angrily. There were too many demigods here, the camp was swamped and some cabins overflowing, but at the same time, there weren’t nearly enough of them to defeat all the monsters that now roamed freely. And the gods were gone, so there wouldn’t be any more demigods coming soon… so the only way to get more power in numbers was to recruit others as Hunters. Reina was sure she could do it, as leader of the roman Hunters. Even if it broke tradition, she was certain that Diana wouldn’t be too mad.

Reina humphed and playfully elbowed Harmony in the side. “Aizveries” shut up, she said with a laugh, then switched to greek. “Ή θα θέλατε να μιλήσω ξανά στην ρουμανική αγαπημένη αδερφή;” Or would you like me to speak in romanian again dear sister?

I woke up to two alarms blaring like every morning. I slammed my alarm clock and rolled onto my back. I rubbed my eyes and placed my hands on my face and took a second to breathe. “Morning.” I greeted my sister. No response- typical. I tore the covers off of me and got ready. I smelt my camp half-blood shirt, which wasn’t too musty so I threw it on. “Get up, we have to head to the Big House.” I reminded my sister.

“In a minute.” She responded. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I stuck a few vapes in my pocket and looked back at my sister, who was still sleeping. “Come on, get up!” I yelled this time. She didn’t move. I grabbed my leather jacket and put it over my t-shirt. To force her to wake up I did my usual morning anthem and clapped. The rhythm practically engraved into our minds. I clapped until she sat up angry. I continued clapping, until I was outside.

It was raining so I had to rush inside the Big House. While walking inside I fixed any hairs that were out of place and adjusted my leather jacket. I immediately thought of the Grease and started to humming the soundtrack. I had too much energy to contain so I looked around for anyone who looked lonely.

I digged in my pocket for a vape when the back of my shoe came loose. I stepped forward and turned around struggling to keep my balance.

“My apologies for the um- flat tire.”

I chuckled and adjusted the back of my shoe. “No worries.” I smiled. “Connor Beckett, nice to meet you.” I said shaking her hands. I folded my arms and studied her. “Wait let me guess… Roman?

:horse: Reuben Fletcher :horse:

I walked over to Finn and crossed my arms with a smile. Speaking to Finn in the mornings is always a great start to my day and I figure to his as well. “Yeah… not my typical morning. I was hoping to wear my favorite horseshoes today… bit of a bummer.” I tapped one of my hooves on the floor making an echo that bounced across the room. The sound never failed to satisfy me. “Anyways, how are you?”

“That’s a beautiful name.” I complimented her. I crossed my arms and smiled to keep a happy demeanor. I haven’t seen her around camp so I figured she must be new or apart of the other pantheons.

“All I know is that it’s gonna be some sort of announcement and everyone has to be here, so yeah must be really important. So if you don’t mind me asking, who’s your godly parent?”

@Daunt - Arden

:fire: Austin Mandell :fire:

I chuckled at his remarks. He was definitely drunk, if not trying to get drunk. As much as I love alcohol, I never understood morning drinking. Out of all the alcoholic drinks he chose beer. Who even likes beer?! “If you want to get seriously drunk, beer is not gonna do it. You need vodka, or tequila if you’re feeling fancy.”

Sixth can of beer in 10 minutes? He wasn’t wrong when he said inhale. I can tell by his grin that in 2 seconds he’d be on the floor knocked out, if I know the feeling. His laugh said it all. I gave him a concerned look but also, couldn’t help put to laugh. I covered my mouth and tried to keep it in, but I couldn’t help it. “I’m sorry it’s nothing about you…” I spit out. I sighed. “Austin, and if you fall over I’m not going to help you.”

I haven’t heard of the name Aurelio before the new demigods came in, so he couldn’t be Greek. He didn’t seem all that surprised when I spotted him and approached, almost like he expected it. I didn’t dwell on it any longer and began to pull up my purple hair into a ponytail. “Is it that obvious?” I asked. I wasn’t the funniest person in the world, but I knew when it was time to be serious and when it was time to joke around.

I crossed my arms and put my foot out in a stance. “So what’s your pantheon since your obviously not Greek?”

Lukah looked up from his paper when he heard some grunting noises from the bed opposite him. Clearly, someone had finally woken up. “Get up, we’ve got to go to the big house for this announcement whatever.” He said with a yawn, sliding out of bed before he realised he’d gone to bed naked because he only had 2 pairs of clothes, and hastily jumping back in again, then reaching under his bed for his only clean clothes. “Did you sleep well at least?” He asked, started to get dressed. The cabin was quite empty and most people were still asleep. “I know I didn’t. It’s impossible with the amount of racket you make.”

Somehow on the way to camp half-blood from New York, she got separated from Reina and her fellow Hunters of Diana. She barely made it out of New York but she made it out with a few rations of meat and a handful of vegetables. Monsters were roaming free. The journey was hard. She arrived at camp half-blood at about 7 am. Avita noticed a group of demigods all heading in the same direction. Maybe she could find a fellow hunter there. Avita joined the group heading into a big house. She found a girl with blue hair, they appeared to be scared or maybe on edge was the better word for it. she walked up to the girl. ”Hello, Do you know whats going on here?”

Harmony nodded, “And I bet a few of them aren’t even trained yet.” She rubbed her chin thinking slightly, she had noticed a shortage of food and supplies over this amount of people. “We’re losing supplies and food and a few of them can’t even pull their weight, that needs to change.” She looked to her side at Reina, “We need to find more hunters.” Being a Hunter was the only way mortal females could get power, and not to mention an add-on to the demigoddesses. They may need to also combine the sides of the goddess… and that was dangerous, but Lady Artemis was no longer around. And Harmony knew the oath she could probably act as a priestess and make it binding.

I held the blade and looked at my reflection in it. “Do you accept?” She asked.
“Yes.”
“Recite the promise.”
" I pledge myself to the Goddess Artemis. I turn my back on the company of men, accept eternal maidenhood, and join the Hunt."

Harmony is brought out of her thoughts by Reina’s voice. “Είμαι καλά με τίποτα, αδελφή. I’m fine with anything, sister.” Harmony smirked slightly turning her head. “Μετά από όλα μιλάω αγγλικά ωραία. After all I speak English fine.” Harmony replied.

Reina nodded. She agreed with what Harmony was saying, but it was difficult nowadays, people didn’t worship the greek or Roman gods anymore, if they even believed in them in the first place. But there were always a few females out there, who were desperate enough to believe. Reina sighed. Ancient Rome was much less complicated than modern day, full of bright colours and loud noises. She missed the crowds that flooded the colosseum on days where it was free entry, and walking down a street filled with goats and humans alike.

“There is no lack of people in the world, but so few of them will believe us if we tell them what we are… it would be better to recruit demigods.” Reina sighed, she didn’t hate all demigods. Some were okay, it was just the majority she disliked.

“Tassew, xejn?” (Really, anything?) Reina asked, cocking her head as she switched to maltese.

Zidane sat up immediately, sending papers flying.
‘’ The racket I make? What about you!? Not even Odin knows what you could’ve been doing last night. ‘’ He grumbled, his eyes narrowed at Lukah. Zidane was already fully clothed, and had enough outfits for at least a week. Since he was on a mission before he came here, he was pretty prepared.
‘’ Aren’t you gonna wear the shirts they gave us? ‘’ Zidane asked, he nodded at the neatly folded T-shirt. ‘’ I won’t, there has to be a river somewhere here. I could figure out a way to wash my own clothes. ‘’ He stared at the floorboards again. Such a dull colour to choose.
He sighed and got up from his bed, kicking a few of his papers away. They probably all had grammar mistakes in them anyway.
‘’ Anyway, Announcement thing? What’s it about? ‘’

In response to the outpour of words Dustin had proudly muttered, Akio blinked. Then he blinked again. And then he shook his head, deciding that there was no way to completely make sense of what had just been said. He figured that he might understand the gist of what he was trying to say, but not enough to come up with a proper response-- especially when he was so uncertain.
“Yes, please. You get the whip and I’ll just bend over.” This was one of the few jokes that Akio somewhat understood immediately, and his face turned a bright red. Yet the averse feelings he had quickly faded away as Dustin insisted that he would ‘wipe the floor with’ him. He quietly mumbled, “You should not be so certain…” A small smile appeared on his face briefly.
"What have you been thinking it could be?”
For a moment, he was quiet until he answered, “I was thinking along those same lines… I was mainly hoping that it was not some announcement saying that we were about to be attacked, though. Just… hoping for something good, I suppose.”

“That’s a beautiful name.” Admittedly, this made a light blush fall upon her face because she was not use to people complimenting her, really. She strained to mumble a quiet ‘thank you’, before they moved on with the conversation. She did not fully expect the conversation to go anywhere, really, and she was not sure if she was pleased or not. It was at least nice to no longer be awkwardly standing alone.
“Hm… alright then,” she quietly answered, beginning to think until she realized that she had been asked a question. “Ah, my godly parent? Tyr. He’s the Norse god of war… And your’s…?” She figured it was only polite to return the question. Plus, it allowed her to think and speculate as to why they were summoned here during the gaps of their conversation.

I couldn’t sleep at all on this god awful mattress. I looked at my alarm clock and it was 7AM on the dot. I could hear talking and footsteps outside so I got up to see what was going on. I put on my robe and opened the door. Everybody was walking in the same direction. I furrowed my brows and shook my head. I sighed and closed the door. I looked around at the piles of clothes and belongings. Living with other people is disgusting. Their fashion is atrocious and if that’s gonna represent me, we’re gonna have a problem. I opened one of my five suitcases and picked out a nice suit. I’ve had this suit for years and never worn it. It only cost $3000 and I do not dress cheap, but this camp has cheap written all over it. I put on some shoes grabbed an umbrella and walked outside and followed everyone.

I waited for someone to hold the door open for me which took awhile but a tall horse man came by and held it open for everyone else. I walked inside to crowds of people. I chuckled at the people wearing those hideous orange shirts. God do I feel bad for them. I had no idea what was going on, and nobody even bothered to take my blazer at the front door. How dare they! I saw a girl who was all alone - poor girl - so I walked over to her. I snapped to get her attention. “Hey!” I said, even though she was right in front of me. “Hi, so why is everyone here in this…” I looked around. “Dirty, disgusting, awfully maintained building?”

She tried to remember who she was…Bear? No…Claire? Ah! It’s Blair.

“Listen up, Blair, I don’t need to talk to anyone. In fact people need to talk to me. You’re wayyyy out of your league to think that someone like me needs to talk to you.” Dimitri smirked and hoped that her remarks would scare this little fawn away. The guy, who was now known as Austin, was already looking to get on Ace’s good side. Ace grinned again. “You think I want to drink beer? My whole entire vodka stash is gone! If I had drank a whole bottle of it, I’d be doing just fine now.” He stretched out his arms, and let the alcohol take control. He could feel the “Ace” coming back to him now.

“No son of Bacchus passes out over six-” Ace slurred his six, “-cans of beer.” Ace scoffed. “I’ve never drank 'til I drop, and I’m literally drunk everyday. I’ve built up resistance over the months, I’m basically immune unless I drink gallons. So Austin,” Ace let out a small hick, “you won’t need to bother picking this guy up!” Ace couldn’t help but to bellow a heartily laugh. ‘’ And the walls! This cabin is too small. How many people is this meant for again? ‘’ He didn’t let Lukah answer, assuming he’d say something humorous, and walked out the door.
Suddenly Zidane was overwhelmed with a million things to see, a thousand different smells, and a hundred things he could taste. His eyes widened in fear when lightning struck, his heart skipped a beat. Glasses. I forgot my glasses.’ He rushed back in as fast as he left the cabin and put them on. He blinked a few times, then squinted at Lukah.

He squinted his eyes shut and began running towards the big house . He turned around to run backwards as he shouted “Come on! Before we get soaked and have to wear the carrots!” He chuckled a his nickname for the T-shirts.
Personally, Lukah thought Camp Half Blood wasn’t all that bad. he definitely didn’t miss trying to walk through the bowling room on the way to breakfast and getting his head knocked in by a boulder at the Hotel Valhalla, but there were certain aspects that the Hotel had that were appealing too. He’d decided Camp Half Blood was best described as a meh- good enough for a holiday, but not the best for a permanent arrangement.

For the first time in a few days, Zidane let out a laugh. Carrots was a pretty good nickname for the horrible shirts they were offered. Even if carrots had less of an orange colour than the CHB shirts did. Zidane was glad that he was in the same cabin as Lukah, it made his day a little less boring.
‘’ I’m TRYING! ‘’ He yelled back, the thunder was so loud Zidane was debating on getting ear plugs as well. Every little thing about Camp Half Blood made him miss Hotel Valhalla more. He wasn’t sure what Lukah thought about all this, but he probably didn’t take it as bad as Zidane did.
Finally they arrived at the Big House. Zidane pushed open the doors slightly and growled when another thousand scents hit his face. ‘’ For Odin’s sake how many different scents are there? ‘’ He mumbled, walking towards the table assigned to the offspring of Heimdall. He sat down and frowned, waiting for Lukah to sit down so Zidane could rant to him again.

The girl began to fluster from my compliment. She seemed kind of shy but was still bold and direct. I assumed she would be more peppy in spirit, but she was more on the serious side. It would be best not to cross her.

“I’ve never heard of Tyr before.” I replied. Yeah, she could seriously do some damage. If I can befriend her she could mentor me on my swordsmanship, and maybe being more intimidating. If I’m being honest, she was a little scary like she would kill me in one slice with a sword. “I’m the daughter of Hephaestus. I’m actually a twin, my brothers over there.” I said pointing to Connor who was speaking with another girl. “Do you know if you have any siblings?”

He was slurring his words and hiccuping like most people do. “Look your new here so if you’re gonna be drunk, you need to know the basics. First of all, don’t say anything dumb, especially about the gods.” I looked at the empty beer can that he swallowed in no time. “And get rid of the evidence.” I took the beer and tossed it into the trash can. I had little knowledge of Vulcan, but her demonstration said it all. Red flames emerged from her fingertips. No matter how many times I saw it, it was cool to see pyrokinesis in action. I backed up a little as to not fry my eyebrows off. “Woah…” I exclaimed. “Nice.” She put the flame out and smiled. I was a little stunned.
“Oh, yeah I’m the son of Hephaestus. And a twin. Which means I’m handy and I can do…” I lit a fire in the middle of my palm. I kept the flames secured and calm, so as to not light a blue one. “This as well!” I closed my palm and the fire died out. “I wouldn’t mind helping you control it. I chuckled a little, seeing as he was right. I was kind of surprised at his intelligence, not something you see everyday. I noticed how he looked at the seats. “We all sit at seats depending on our parents, as you might know in the Dining Pavilion.” I mentioned. I wasn’t always fond of the seats rule, it keeps campers secluded to their families when some don’t have siblings and are forced to dine alone. However, rules are rules.

I smirked at him. “I have to say, I’m quite impressed.” I said tilting my head up slightly. “I guess I underestimated you Egyptians. You’re smart, I’ll give you that.” i continued, “I’m a daughter of Athena. The guy he’d crashed into instantly snapped back at him in a rather defensive and harsh tone. “Thanks, man. Just what I needed on this beautiful morning.” Then seconds later, only to apologise for it, “Sorry, it’s a reflex. Just naturally a b!tch.” Venedict pushed himself up, off the muddy ground, ignoring the help that this guy was offering him. Looking down at his now muddy hands, they slowly started to wash off in the rain, just not fast enough. He carefully pushed open the bottom of his wet and increasingly heavy, black trench coat to wipe his hands on his trousers. Once done, he straightened back up and looked at the man, who was now extending his hand toward Venedict. “I’m Kayin, and you’re… not used to rain?”
After wiping his hands, Venedict timidly reached out to shake Kayin’s hand. Ven-Venedict, I’m h-he. No-No, I know what r-rain is like." He just left the sentence there, as he wasn’t going to tell this guy about how he’s lived in rainforests for months or travelled through countries during a monsoon. He pulled his hand back to his side after shaking Kayin’s.

“Okay, sure. Whatever. … I’m fine, I’m not the one who decided today was a good day to try mud-diving. That was pretty impressive, though. You alright?”
Venedict’s tone changed from sympathetic to a solemn one as he thought about the question. Venedict thought, Am I alright? Alright is a word I usually don’t use. Fine is the word best to answer how I am because no one asks for detail with this word. Though perhaps he was just asking about my physical state after this situation. In that case…
Venedict nodded. “I am. I…” He wasn’t sure if he really wanted to say this. He didn’t want to then go into detail about it. But he found himself saying it anyway. “…I’m not afraid of a little mud. Di-did you get hurt?” He looked around before adding, “Let’s follow on-onward to get out of this rain.” For a boy with the supposed power over the rain, he hated being wet.

Reina had a point though, mortals had turned to other gods and pantheons and such, the gods of the old were quickly losing interest of the people. It was easier in the olden days when everyone believed in the gods, or majority for the most part. She nodded in agreement with Reina’s comment.
