“Right. Just a slow walk.” I said, gently squeezing the horse’s sides with my legs, clucking. The horse began to walk slowly. “You ok?” I asked Rain.

As the horse started moving, Rain began to relax. “Yeah. I’m getting better.” She said when Jane asked her if she was okay. Her grip loosened, but she still hugged Jane’s waist, resting her head on her shoulder.
I nodded, blushing. “So, tell me about yourself. You’re not American, I can guess.” I said.

“No. From Japan.” Rain said. “I’m a singer. In a band with my brothers. It’s called Hex3. It’s a pun, get it?” She asked Jane, giggling a bit.
“Is that your last name? That is pretty funny. My last name is kinda funny too. For me, it’s just ironic.” I said, shrugging.

“Why is that?” Rain asked as their horse began navigating beside a winding stream.
“That’s a pretty horse!” Natalia walked over to see the horse. “What was your horse named?” Natalia walked back to the horse she had initially been drawn to. “We should probably all mount our horses, don’t you think?” She smiled at Colette and climbed up onto the horse. “It’s been such a long time since I’ve been on a horse, this feels a little strange.” Natalia slid around a bit on the horse, a bit unused to sitting on a horse. “It’s a bit harder than I remember.” She laughed a bit and tightened her grip on the horse. “Have you decided on a horse to ride?”

“Oh, um… I never really thought of keeping a name, because I was like 6 or 7…?” she got a bit embarrassed. “Because I knew I would call her something stupid like Flower or Horsie.” she chuckled at herself. It was so bizarre.
“Yeah, it’s been quite a while since people have separated into the two groups.” she said before mounting the horse which she had shown Natalia earlier. “This feels pretty weird…” she said, adjusting herself.

“I’m sorry.” Rain said. “I don’t think there’s God either. If there was, it wouldn’t have taken this long for me to get vacation.” She joked. “Or to meet you.”
I blushed, snickering at her joke. “You should see the televised church services. I look like I want to kill everyone there…Definitely not fun.”

Rain laughed as their horse kept trotting down the winding path. Eventually, they arrived at a small lake with a waterfall. “Beautiful…” Rain gasped. She hadn’t ever been able to see nature like this back home.
“Woah…that’s insane…” I muttered, the light casting rainbows over the water. “It’s like a giant prism.” I said, dismounting. “Need help getting off?” I asked Rain.

“It’s been so long since I went horse riding, but I think my favorite was a horse named Daisy. She was so sweet.” Other people started picking out their horses and preparing to ride. “We’re probably going to be doing a fairly simple trail. Hopefully I don’t get too much dirt in my hair.” She chuckled to herself.
Colette mounted a horse next to Natalia. “Yeah, it’s been quite a while since people have separated into the two groups. This feels pretty weird…” Everyone had been looking at horses for a while, so they’d have to set off soon. Unfortunately, the instructor hadn’t said anything yet.
“It definitely feels weird. I wonder if the instructor is going to start this soon? I’d rather be hanging out at the pool in camp or at a party than this.”

“Yes please…” Rain said, still overwhelming by the beauty of the waterfall. “Is all of America this way?” She asked.
I helped her off the horse, shaking my head. “Sadly, no. I’m surprised this is here. I’ve heard Japan is beautiful. I wish I could go…” I said wistfully.

“I’ve heard that, too, but I’ve never been outside of the cities.” Rain admitted. She walked over to the lake and scooped some of the pure, crystal clear water in her hand, drinking it. “Mmm…” She said, licking her lips. “You shoud try. Very cold and sweet.” She scooped up another handful for their mare to drink.
“Not so sure if that’s safe, but eh. You only live once.” I said, walking to the lake and taking a drink. “Oh yeah…that’s really good.” I said.

“Isn’t it?” Rain agreed, rubbing the mare’s snout. “It’s clear enough. Should be safe.” She went and sat by the side of the lake, twirling her fingers through the shallow water and causing the rainbows to break up into delicate ripples. “Sit with me?” She asked Jane.
“Sure.” I said, standing and sitting next to her, slipping my shoes and socks off, dangling my feet in the water. “Holy s*it, that’s cold! Sorry.” I yelped.
