Ai fully turned around, the skeleton cay held in her arms. “Yep. Her name is Rei. My power is Necromancy. You’re not crazy. Wether I’m crazy or not is a different story.” She pulled her phone out when he asked what song it was, playing it with English subtitles and handing it to him. “Here, it’s called O Light. Oh, my name is Ai. What’s yours?” Rei squirmed and Ai let her down. The skeleton cat then proceeded to wind herself around the guy’s legs. “Haha, She rikes you.”

Adam felt bad. He felt he was too harsh with the honest truth so he said. “Oh please don’t be sad. I didn’t mean to be so … I didn’t mean to pry so much.” And as he said that she kept eating his sandwiches. He was glad she has an apetite and wasn’t that angry at him, but he knew she was still unnerved. “Emma, if there was anybody in your life that made you feel like your power is bad or fearsome … fnck them! Nobody’s power is that bad if they can control it, and since you can control it just shut all those negative comments out. There is nothing wrong with your power, with your abillity to control it nor with you and any person in their right mind will see you for the unproblematic, sweet person you are. Don’t let words bring you down, especially if you come to discover they’re not true.”

North stared up at the new guy. As the guy got down and and closed his eyes, North got concerned that he had hurt this guy’s feelings by breaking a camera. “You okay dude?” North asked skeptically. This guy was literally pleading with him to help.
North stood up and offered an apple he hadn’t eaten yet. “Do you…want an apple?” He asked. tring to make the guy feel better.

Emma awkwardly smiled at Adam through her mouthful of sandwich. She swallowed, smiling normally. “Thanks. You’re only the second person that has been this nice to me. My dad always hated me because…well, mom’s dead. As soon as the doctors handed me to her after I was born, she set me on her chest. I think you know what happened. Yeah. Then this…incident when I was sixteen.”

William smiled at her. “That’s okay I’ll forgive you …” He looked at the clothes she picked out and said “See here, you’ve got style … Will you do me a favor of picking out something for me? Or helping me style the things I pick because I’m terrible at that. Never needed that skill in my life so I never adapted it. Never owned anything more than what 5 different shirts at a time.”

Jay opened his eyes, shaking his head. “Oh, yeah. Just was thinking of an incident that happened several months ago. Don’t worry about it.” The man offered him an apple, and Jay took it. “Thanks. My name’s Jay. Like the bird.” He said, taking a bite of the apple, sitting down. “I take it your power is Ice? Mine is camera manipulation. That’s why I was looking at the camera.”

“Oh I see.” He said. “I understand that you had incidents before, but those things are not your fault. You’re doing the most here, protecting your loved ones, the strangeers, the objects you touch and use, the friends you’ll make by wearing gloves and back in the 2020s people weren’t even able to wear a mask to save themselves, let alone others. So back then you acidentally did a bad thing, but from then on it rarely happened again and that’s all thanks to you.”

Destiny wiped her tears, “How do you know that? All we know about each other is our first name, our power, and um…our favorite positions.” She blushed at that last part but quickly stopped. Deshawn pulled her away from him and told her everything was going to be alright. She smiled softly despite the last few tears streaming down her face. She hugged him tightly, “I wish I had your confidence.” She said quietly as they stood, hugging in the kitchen. “Um, tell me about yourself, please.”

“Yeah, just ice, nothing else” North answered, questions flowing through his brain about Jay’s camera manipulation power. North looked at Jay as he ate the apple.
“What made you want to be on a show like this if you can just manipulate cameras into showing anything you want?” Norh asked, guessing what ‘camera manipulation’ actually meant as a power.

“Finally.” Adam said with a smile. “You’re starting to see your worth and even now you can barely see it all. You don’t see yourself as a safe person because of your power, but I promise you, I nor any other person in this camp see you as dangerous. So don’t you worry about your soulmate. If he can’t see you the way I can, we’ll then I’ll be his Optometrist.” Adam smiled again, happy to see her not wallow in self-pity. “This tea? I just bought it in my corner store and packed it with me. You probably like it because it’s peach. Let me give you some advice … Always buy peach tea, you’ll never be dissapointed.”

The man squinted looking at the phone and said “I suppose it is the same falvor, but then again there are tons of teas with this exact flavour … especially when it’s a single flavor and not mixed.” Adam noted.
“But like I said you won’t be dissapointed with any peach tea they’re all at least good no matter the quality. Used to drink this when I was sick, that’s probably why I got a taste for it.”

“Yeah, that’s true. Peach tea is peach tea. They probably taste similar.” Emma shrugged. She was feeling rather brave, so she removed her gloves, picking up the cup with a pinkie raised. “At least this doesn’t look weird. Looks weirder holding a sandwich, but you gotta do what you gotta do.”

Adam asked about her power, and Emma set the cup down, folding her fingers. “I’m not really sure how the gloves don’t disintegrate. It involves all five of my fingers. Maybe something with the pads of my fingers? I really don’t know. If I did, I’d tell you. No one really knows and no one really cares to find out. I could cut off one of my fingers to stop it, but I’m not that much of an idiot. Definitely not going to happen.”

“Have you tried melting your fingerprints off? Maybe it’s whatever you fingerprints are left one disinegrates into dust.” He thought about it. “But if it doesn’t work with gloves maybe it’s some fabrics that it doesn’t work with and you could look for thinner gloves with the same fabric.” Adam thought about it. “Forger all that, I don’t know what I’m saying.”

“That sounds…disturbing. I think I’m just going to stick with the gloves. Actually, it doesn’t really matter what gloves I wear. They still work. I even used those thin plastic ones that they use at lunch counters. I really don’t know the logistics.” Emma shrugged, finishing the cup of tea.

“Well that’s good then.” Adam said. Adam kept silent for a while but knew he needed to do some sort of conversation so he asked. “So despite the power, tell me something about yourself.” Adam cringed after saying that because he thought he sounded like somebody’s teacher.
