Hey there and welcome!

All you need to do is reserve and create. (wink)
Have you RPā€™d before?

Ah, Iā€™ve played D&D for a while, Iā€™ve never really done anything online like this, and the games have mostly been combat-oriented. I would love to try this though.

Done.

Now for background. I have a decent list of backgrounds (about 29). So Iā€™m wondering if you had one in mind or wanna see them, or if I should roll to select three random ones for you to choose from?

Awesome. So I recommend you have a look at the RP guide, so you know how we RP here.
First question, have you read the first post, so you know the gist of the story?

Also, I upped your profile to trust level two. (wink)

Yeah, I read through the post and thought it was a cool concept. Where would I find the RP guide?

Also, thanks(?) That sounds like a good thing

Wicked. Thanks. Oh, the section guide is here and the RP guide is here. If you wanna talk to anyone about it then feel free to chat and ask on this thread.

HAHA. Yeah, it means you can post as much as you want with worrying about a limited number of posts.

Thanks so much, Iā€™ll take a look at those! After I read through them Iā€™ll probably come right back here and (hopefully) try to set up a character with you.

Oh lord, thanks. Geez, that would suckkkk

Uhmmm so im thinking criminal, but i would get a proficiency in Deception from that. So is there anyway i could change my Sorcerer proficiency to Insight and Persuasion?

Awesome. I hope they help ya. (wink)

Yes, yes it would.

Alrighty, as for a character. Making one is all you. Youā€™ll see the link to the FaceClaims in the OP, all the info you need to give is there. Then that character (well, their mind) will go into a D&D/video game character when inside that game. Thatā€™s the one Iā€™ll help you create. Do you have an idea for what race and class youā€™d like?

Yeah, thatā€™d be fine. Although, the one I have is criminal/spy and the proficiencies offered are stealth and one of your choice.

criminal/spy

You are an experienced criminal with a history of breaking the law. You have spent a lot of time among other criminals and still have contacts within the criminal underworld. Youā€™re far closer than most people to the world of murder, theft, and violence that pervades the underbelly of civilization, and you have survived up to this point by flouting the rules and regulations of society.

Criminal contact:
You have a reliable and trustworthy contact who acts as your liaison to a network of other criminals. You know how to get messages to and from your contact, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.

Oh okay cool. Could i possibly take Acrobatics then, instead?

So stealth and acrobatics, yup.
You also get to choose a game set too?

Right, awesome. Does playing cards work?

Yes, thatā€™s one of the options. Thereā€™s dice, playing cards, dragonchess, and three-dragon ante.

Then we have more rolling. This time for the personality of then game character, or well, what the character backstory personality is. (smirk)

Okay soā€¦ more discobot then?
Also, kinda random, but do ideals and stuff have to be random (aka dice determined)

I mean, I kinda wanna make it fair for all in this, that thatā€™s the way itā€™s done for the game purpose. So the characters playing the game donā€™t choose it, the game does. Since you, this is for the game characters and their backstory and not the real people playing them who donā€™t necessarily know about them. However, IF you have an idea for one, you may run it by me in a PM. Kripke did this with one of them and I liked his idea so we just chose that one and rolled the others.

Alrighty, I read the guidelines and am totally (probably) ready to write up the character!
Name: Tristan Garrick.
Age: 26.
Gender: Male.
Sexuality: Heterosexual.
Occupation: Starving Med-School Student (Working part-time on campus as a librarianā€™s aide).

In-Game Character: Variant-Human Fighter // IGN: Fighter-Man (He thought it was hilarious).
Birthplace: Vancouver, Canada.

Brief Personality: Tristan is a very excitable person. He tries his best to enjoy everything he can in life, and is (usually) open to trying new things. At times, people have said he can come off as childish and immature (which he is), but those people are totally wrong, and he is the coolest, most mature person he himself has ever met. His childish tendencies cause him to be stubborn, and he can hold comical grudges over small things (i.e, you stole the last juicebox in the fridge at home, so you have to be extra quiet in the library this time).
Tristan believes that while friends are important and can bring great times, he should never forget to put himself first. The needs of the many do not outweigh the needs of the few, especially if he is one of those few.
While childish, Tristan certainly isnā€™t stupid, and he isnā€™t willing to put up with people that will inconvenience him past a reasonable extent. Heā€™ll help his friends and cheer them up when theyā€™re down, but if they refuse his help or ignore his advice a number of timesā€¦ bye byeeee.

Reason to compete: Tristan had always been a total ā€œnerdā€ when it came to RPGSs. He always played the absolute heck out of them, and tried to figure out how to optimize every one of his characters. Heā€™s the kind of person that speedruns the souls games for fun. Yeah, he knows, heā€™s (not) cool. He believes that winning the money from this contest would allow him to live out the rest of his life comfortably however he wants with whatever he wants.

did I doā€¦ ok?

and from here I have to pick out an ā€œFCā€, right?
