Danganronpa: Alternate - Official Roleplay

The girl’s quick little hands immediately covered her injury as she noticed Kousuke staring at he. He averted his gaze and looked at the medical supplies. His eye twitched because of her silly smile which annoyed him. “Not to scare you or anything, but feeling light-headed or dizzy after a head injury can be concerning. You may die if it’s too serious.” as he said, he didn’t have the intention to scare her, but hearing that sentence was frightening. He didn’t even bother to put it nicely. It was harsh but true.

She was swaggering a bit which was, again, concerning. Kousuke wouldn’t want to witness her, or in fact, anyone die because of a small head injury. It looked like she didn’t need help, but he stayed there for a while. Not having anything to do, he picked up another pamphlet, but this time, it was about myopia. He started reading it and knew most of the things which were listed and written there.

“Yeaaah, if you’d be able to help me a bit, I’d love that! I can repay you back… somehow, Mr… Doc?”

“Hm…?” he looked up to see her with that annoying smile again. But this time, her hand wasn’t covering her face anymore. Her forehead was smeared with what looked like dried blood. He sniggered at the somewhat odd sight. “Well, I am psychiatrist, but close enough, I guess,” he shrugged. “And, how are you going to repay me? With money? Not useful here. Or risk your life to help the others escape this sh-thole?” he raised his eyebrows at her and moved closer. Kousuke was joking, but his intimidating face didn’t make it obvious.

“You may die if it’s too serious.” Her brow rose in response and her smile faltered now that he looked away. Remembering what Xiulan had said about the facade she put on for people-- how she seemed inhuman at times. For a moment, she considered letting the small amount of anxiety she held inside spill through. However, this man-- who she had yet to introduce herself to --was a complete stranger. She was fine trusting him to help with her wound, as she was sure he could not do any worse than her, but to let such a negative atmosphere develop… she would suffocate in the small, clean infirmary.
She turned away and went about her business before finally saying once again that she would love the help, this time with a similar grin to the last one.
Upon noticing his quiet laughter in response, her head tilted in confusion. Perhaps the attempt at a title for him was funny; perhaps she looked a bit ridiculous right now. She would be quite the sight, after all, especially considering the reason everyone was gathered on this campus. His response, admittedly, was a bit unexpected. Himari eyes widened, bouncing around the room before landing on him as he moved closer. Her eyes only stayed on him long enough to finally notice a few of his features. She mostly noticed his eyes and how they were different colors-- it was hard to ignore given that most of the intimidation as a result of his stoic expression radiated from his eyes.
Once again, her gaze started bouncing around the room as she absent-mindedly chewed on the inside of her cheek. “Well… I could… I cou~ld…” Her thumbs moved over and wrapped each finger individually, as if she were trying to crack them. “I’m not gonna lie, I’m not really sure,” she admitted as a lopsided, embarrassed smile formed. “I’m not sure how but I could try to figure something out to get use out of here? I’m only a botanist, though, so… not many useful skills!” She chuckled quietly while her mind continued to try and come up with something fitting as a way to repay him for help. A sigh left her lips as she reached up to feel her forehead.

As she noticed the discomfort as response to her replies, Xiulan remained silent as she sips her tea little by little. Listening to each of her words once more as to not make her seem talkative or any sort of annoying qualities she seem would not make her look graceful. Each of Shiniqua’s conversation, she soflt nods and only uses her energy as she felt if it was needed. To that, it was her silent chuckle as she looked upon her, “I know better that no one can pull it off better thn me, and there are dainty and small versions than mine… think of it like an ornament for holding your hair. It could simply dangle with small delicate gems. I mean a small dainty silver hairpin I have, since I dislike small dainty things in my grandeur hair. Please, reconsider my… gifts.”

As she tells about being a muse, Xiulan’s eyes lit up in excitement as she always wanted to be the spotlight. To be painted like a delicate fairy she wanted to be, she wanted to be like a queen being painted by her likeness of beauty. Without a word, her slender arms reached out her sleeves, her dainty arms; adorned with jewerly such as detailed golden rings and two of her delicately designed and long fingernail guards, she reached for Shiniqua’s hands as a signal for insisting to be her muse. Her eyes lit wide in the desperation of being a beautiful art to be seen for millions of years. The soft touch was then let go swiftly as the covered her hands with her sleeves, looking at the teacup in its empty state.

The shift in mood immediately shifted her cool demeanor unto a cold action. The silence as she poured her teacup, putting close to her lips as she looked in disgust; it was cold. With the mention of their breakfast finishing, she looked unto the cafeteria’s exit and looked at Shiniqua. Although her mood was suddenly shifted, it seemed as if it was the right time to respond, but she made sure that her mood was still prominently cool yet cold, “I don’t know. Why am I the one to decide? If it were me, I would be in bed. You wouldn’t want this conversation to end, no? So you decide.” The abrupt action of letting down the teacup was commenced as she stood up and went first to walk. She looked at her, anticipating for an answer and for her to lead the direction.

Kousuke could sense her anxiety and nervousness. He found it oddly amusing and almost cracked a smile. He was a really… strange person but considering his bad luck in the past, you wouldn’t expect him to be normal, would you? Shaking off those thoughts, his attention came was back to her forehead. It was still bleeding and that wasn’t good. Her forehead and hands were smeared with blood. “You look ridiculous, you know?” he said with a straight face. “Do you know that your wound could be infected? Covering it with your bare, unwashed hands was definitely not a good idea.” he glared at her. Kousuke didn’t want her to die from an infected head wound and be blamed for it. He was too young to die, and moreover, he couldn’t imagine his sisters all alone.

“Well… I could… I cou~ld…"

“Huh?” he came back from his deep thoughts and fixed his eyes on her. He was a bit dumbfounded when she actually answered his question. “I was joking. I don’t need you to repay me,” he said and looked around for some gauze. He remembered that he had seen it somewhere with the other medical tools. Kousuke noticed the girl’s hand going to her forehead at the corner of his eye. He quickly turned around and grabbed her hand. “Don’t. Touch. It.”

A small, short noise was produced in her throat-- something equivalent to an ‘eep!’ despite her closed mouth. His glare was probably the most intense emotion she had ever received from someone before, so she slowly lowered her hand. The comment about how she looked ridiculous, however, had put a small smile on her face. It was better than the alternative of depressed, worried, dead, etc.
Himari blinked a few times as he said that he had been joking. “You’re tellin’ me that that was a joke?! Hm… Well, I’m serious! I’ll find a way eventually… hopefully before we get out of here-- just don’t expect too much,” she responded with a pleasant smile as relief admittedly flooded through her. At least he was not actually expecting her to lay her life on the line as a means of escape. Without much thought, despite his earlier warning, she reached up to feel her forehead as she had no idea what it might look like. Yet she was quickly cut off by the deadly serious boy as he grabbed her hand. At first, she didn’t even bother with looking directly at him as she already had a sinking suspicion that his expression would not be a pleasant one.
“Ahh, right, right! My bad; it just slipped my mind,” she laughed, her opposite hand moving to aid her by wrapping around his hand in order to gently push it back towards him. Once away from her forehead, she gave it a light pat and tried to bring her hand back, assuming he’d let go. “Y’know, you’ve got a bit of a tight grip, sir. Good for handshakes! But I won’t be touching my forehead anymore, I promise, so you can just… stop,” she continued as soon as she started pushing his hand away.
Himari averted her eyes, looking around the room for anything that may be useful since she was unsure what he was looking for. “Geez, don’t even know your name yet and you’re already scolding me,” she mumbled quietly with something similar to a pout forming.

Xiulan still insisted her to accept her silver hairpin. “Well, since you’re insisting so much, I can’t refuse, can I?” she smiled at her. “I really can’t wait to see how it’ll look with my hair!” her eyes glimmered with excitement. Shiniqua always stuck with her short dresses, high heels and some light makeup along with a few accessories such as earrings or bracelets. She had adapted that style from her one of her friends that she adored, back in her neighbourhood. No experimenting with new styles or anything. She was only focused on her art in the past. Dressing up was just a way to pass time. Perhaps, it was time for a change. And who knows, she might like it very much.

Out of nowhere, Xiulan reached for her hands. She was a bit startled as she did not expect her to suddenly grab her. It seemed like she had liked the idea of Shiniqua using her as a muse. She flashed her a friendly smile and looked to the side. Though the scene was quite funny, it felt awkward now. She gently pushed her hands away and looked around for a clock. She assumed it wasn’t noon. She had gotten up around 7 or 8 and took almost an hour to finish her breakfast while chatting with Xiulan.

It seemed like Xiulan wasn’t sure about what to do next and asked Shiniqua about it. “I was planning on going to the library, read a book for a while and then start drawing. But, now I’m not sure. It was a pleasure to talk with you and, well, I can’t make your decisions. If you want to sleep, then I totally understand. You do need your rest.” she was being really formal with her which was unusual of her. She mostly was care-free when talking, but this time, she picked her words carefully.

Kousuke raised his eyebrows when he heard her say she was serious. “Yeah, that was a joke. You don’t have to repay me. I’m totally fine.” he shrugged and softened his gaze. “Unless you can magically cure my insomnia,” he muttered to himself and shaked his head, believing it was not possible to cure an incurable disease. It wasn’t that bad, these days, but he would still like to get a night of peaceful sleep without waking up at midnight. "Hm… it must be nice,’ he stared at the wall behind Himari and totally forgot about her.

“Huh, what?” he turned back to her, confused. He was so lost in thought, that he had forgotten about her. His gaze turned towards her hands which were slightly turning red. “Ah, sh-t, I’m sorry about that,” his cheeks flushed a light pink as he let go of her hand. You could see his fingers printed on her hand. He actually did have a tight grip. He quietly heard her grumbling to herself, “Kousuke; that’s my name. And I’m not scolding you, I’m just stopping you from doing something you’re going to regret.” he crossed his arms and leaned against a nearby table.

Despite her eyes appearing somewhat distant, she was listening intently. She only caught the word ‘insomnia’ but her mind was already working. Of course, the likelihood of curing insomnia was… practically nonexistent. However, if they could find some sort of greenhouse, she could possibly find plants to help with it-- she already had a few names popping into her head, imagining what each looked like as a name flew by. Although she was not sure if she would even be able to find the right plants to help, she made sure to make a mental note.
She had not expected his reaction upon realizing how tightly he had latched onto her hand, noticing that he seemed almost… embarrassed? “Ah, don’t be! I hope none of the blood rubbed off-- sorry if so! Plus, that’s the most emotion you’ve shown so far,” she said as the usual smile returned whilst she rubbed her hand.
Similarly to earlier, she froze, grimacing as she bared her teeth. “Ooh, I probably should’ve been a bit quieter,” she laughed a bit, watching him lean against a table. At the very least, he seemed a bit more relaxed now. That combined with knowing his name eased whatever nerves she had. “Fine, fine-- I’ll try to listen better next time… Oh, and that’s a nice name, Kousuke! I’m Himari Ichikawa, Ultimate Botanist! The circumstances aren’t great but… nice to meet you, Kousuke!” She tested his name again, making sure that she had the pronunciation right. Deciding that she felt a bit too light-headed, she sat down on one of the nearby beds lined up against the wall. It took all of her power to resist from prodding at the wound, knowing it would probably upset Kousuke-- that, and it was clearly not a smart move. Her thoughts drifted, mostly wondering how the previous nurse had found anything in the room given that the supplies seemed to be overflowing in some spots.

Sara Tanako

Sara arrived on time, she’d usually be early, but today was not her day. She tripped over every, every, little thing in the dorm she was in. First it was her bed, than her chair, shoes, and finally steps. Her shoes were still in the right place, her cleaning could never let her place be a mess. Which wasn’t a bad thing, but sometimes she just wanted to relax. Except that was at home… it’s different here. Even as much as she wishes she was at home. She sighed before grabbing her breakfast and eating it. She didn’t really know what to do because their was still much to explore on her own. Let’s not forget what happened the first day. She cleared that memory out of her mind. Might as well go to the storage room, at least she knows that place is somewhat safe. She doesn’t think of the video, she’ll let herself deal with it at night. Night time is always the best time. She ventured off to the storage room. She had just gotten in the storage room and turned the corner before heading someone come in. She smiled teasingly and spoke,”RyRy? Is that you?” She asked poking her head around the corner. “Ah, I thought that was you.” She smirked, stifling her laugh from the nickname and hopefully his reaction.

Amari Abe

Amari woke up a bit late. So she didn’t have a lot of time if she wanted a seat. She walked over to her closet picking out ripped jeans and a tank top before throwing on a black jacket with red sleeves and seams. She put her hair half up-half down with a red bow that dropped around the half up part of her hair. She finished getting ready before realizing that she had to get there now. She fast walked over to the cafeteria and picked up her breakfast. Some eggs with a bowl of fruit and tea. Hey, it wasn’t too bad. Very good breakfast and healthy. She turned and couldn’t see a single table open for her to sit at. If only she didn’t take her time. Welp, too late for that. She strolled over to the common room and spotted a few others already in it. She sat across from a guy with what looked like purple tint in his hair. Might as well make convo. It is breakfast so she should be nice and friendly… somewhat anyways. She looked up and spoke,”Hey, uh, how’s you’re breakfast?” She actually wasn’t very good at starting conversations if you couldn’t tell.

He looked at his hand to see if the blood had wiped off of her. “Uh, I don’t think so,” he said, but still went to the sink to wash his hands. He grabbed one of the clean cloths lying on the table he had leaned against earlier. He immediately faced her when she said he had ‘shown the most emotion so far’. “What do you mean by that?” he asked her with a slightly confused face. Kousuke was never good at expressing his emotions, so he didn’t understand what she meant. He always has a poker face on. Some wonder if he’s actually a human or not. Or a robot in disguise.

“Nice to meet you too, I guess,” he said. His attention was back to her bloody forehead when she sat down on one of the beds. “Almost forgot that!” he scanned the table for a cleats cloth. He found some gauze instead. Perfect! He walked to her and noticed that the bleeding still hadn’t stopped yet. That was very concerning. He folded the gauze and brought it towards her head. Kousuke gently pressed it, “Does it hurt?” he saw the gauze which was now dark red, absorbed in the blood.

Li Wei was happily eating his breakfast. The food was absolutely delicious. The steamed rice reminded him of his grandmother. He smiled as he recalled his old memories. But that smile didn’t stay for long. He sighed and finished eating the steamed rice. He turned around shortly after he heard a girl’s voice. She had striking platinum hair and fascinating purple eyes. She asked about his breakfast. “It’s amazing. Whoever made is an incredibly talented one.” The jacket she was wearing caught his eyes. “Nice jacket,” he complimented. It was not very common for Li Wei to comment on someone’s outfit, but that jacket was impressive. Though it was casual and plain, he simply liked it.

“Anyway, I’m Li Wei,” he flashed a smile at her. “I would shake your hand but we’re both eating, and I wouldn’t want to get your hands dirty.” he looked back down at his food and took a bite of the tamagoyaki. Again, he was amazed by its taste. This has got to be the best tamagoyaki he has eaten. At least this ‘school’ had something nice. Every cloud has a silver lining… right? Speaking of clouds, he took a glance at one of the windows. Sunlight poured in through them and created a warm and quiet atmosphere.

Storage Room || With Sara

All it took was hearing the new nickname-- that he could not seem to grow accustom to --to send a chilling shiver up his body. For once, someone was managing to beat him at his own game and he was beginning to realize just how bothersome an unwanted nickname could be. With a crinkled nose and ever so lightly tinted cheeks, his cooled eyes found Sara’s warmer ones. She was not too far into the room, making it easy for the two to hear each other, thankfully. “Really? That is the nickname that’s going to stick?” He paused, his feet dragging as he made his way over.
She stood just at the corner of an aisle with insanely high shelves. In an attempt to hide that the nickname had made him blush and that she had succeeded in getting a reaction from him, he turned his back towards her as he regained a more neutral and refined expression. Idly, he picked different objects from the shelves and observed them. There was everything from various ice molds to baseball bats. “You know, I didn’t expect you to be in here, miss Saera,” he finally spoke up again, turning his head so that she could see his now-raised brow. "Looking for something? Or just finishing what we started? I mean, I don’t know about you but I didn’t come back to finish looking after… that," he added, referencing the incident with the basketball player from day one.

It took her by surprise to see Kousuke whirl around after she had mentioned the lacking presence of emotion. “Ah! I don’t necessarily mean it inna bad way or anythin’! Just haven’t been too… expressive, I guess? Just gives me a better sense of who you are, if that makes sense!” Worried that she might have unintentionally offended him, she had tried to clear up what she meant. She quickly added, “I’m not the best at reading people, so… y’know!”
Somehow, they moved past the small confusion and she now sat on one of the two beds. Her hands gripped the mattress. She felt the need to move around and was unsure what to do with her hands and legs, hence her fingers digging into the bed and her legs just barely swinging back and forth. Although some would assume this is not too far from her usual mental state, her mind and thoughts seemed to fog up, putting her in a daze as Kousuke quickly looked for… something. Gauze, cloth, some sort of disinfectant? She wasn’t sure. Himari snapped back as his hand moved towards her forehead. Despite being able to tell that he was careful, she sucked in an almost imperceptible breath as the gauze made impact with the wound. Her eyes had closed as she attempted to stop her wincing despite it being minor. Trying to find the right words, she said, “Ehh… Kinda? Not too bad since there’s not too much pressure but… not preferable.” Something akin to a scoff left as she thought about her own lacking response. “Does it look alright though?”
