Nova ran throughout the route, laughing lightly as Lester sprinted and Vermont was not too far behind either. It was very nice out so for today she was much quieter than usual. She was watching and observing her surroundings. They stopped as Delia approached a couple of humans. She analyzed them and of course after they were done talking they decided to stay hidden and spy. People like their privacy for a reason. Unless they know something⊠maybe thatâs why they seemed so sketched out. She waited a little before catching Lester looking at the people. She turned to Vermont,âSo what should we do?â She asked trying to do the cons and pros of the situation.

I paled, noticing even more wolves come into the clearing. I swallowed nervously, praying the wolves couldnât hear my heavy breathing. âStay calm, stay calmâŠâ I whispered.

Vermont sprinted staying behind the other wolves as they ran through this unknown but picturesque trail of human realm laughing and excited, not because he could not run fast but because he was keeping an eye around them vigilantly as well as witnessing the scenery. He saw Lester running faster than anyone else. V mentally chuckled, anyone could get jealous of Lesterâs energy whenever he was excited and it was one of the reasons he liked him.
They stopped once they saw some humans hanging around a cabin. Delia asked them to go away but the girl saw them, the wolves. V examined the humans. They seemed harmless. But if they followed Delia to the cabin now, the humans would surely be suspicious of her, like a normal human would not be okay with having wolves in their house, right? âI say letâs act like normal wolves and stay here until they leave. If we go to Delia now, they might suspect somethingâ, he said.

I notice Lucy getting worked up. I put a hand on her shoulder. âCalm down, if my hunch is right, they wonât harm usâ I tell her. âThatâs were youâre wrongâ I suddenly heard a voice behind us. I look over to see a boy(Dan) behind us with his arms crossed and three other wolves behind him. âmind leaving?â he asks. âIâm pretty sure I donât have toâ I said and just in case I hold out a chrysocolla. The boy sign. âWhat about her?â He asked nodding at Lucy. I shake my head. âThen leaveâ He repeated. He then turned to Lucy. âThis is a privet area and a reserve for wolvesâ He said. âThere are dangerous animals in these woods, itâs better if you stay out of this areaâ He tells her in a calm voice.

Lucas slowly raised the lens of his camera from the bushes zooming at the beautiful grey-winged black bird sitting on the low branch before him. His clothes did not help much to camouflage but who cares? The forest had many beautiful animals and some cliffs he loved to climb. Bunking todayâs lecture was worth it. Just when he was about to capture the pic of the little bird his phone started to ring and the bird flied away. âWhat theâŠ!â, he muttered annoyed and checked his phone.
His friend was calling him. He rejected the call and put his phone on silent. Just then he heard some footsteps and rustle of leaves. Expecting an wild animal, he threw a rock at the direction of the sound. After a second he went to check. âOMG! Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry! Did I hurt you?â, he ran towards the white-haired girl assuming he had hit her with the rock. âIâm really sorry! I didnât see you there. I thought there was a wild animal so I threw a rock! You know, this forest is full of wild animals and beautiful scenery so I come here often. Oh right, I forgot, where did I hurt you?â, he rambled.

âOMG! Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry! Did I hurt you?â, he ran towards the white-haired girl assuming he had hit her with the rock. âIâm really sorry! I didnât see you there. I thought there was a wild animal so I threw a rock! You know, this forest is full of wild animals and beautiful scenery so I come here often. Oh right, I forgot, where did I hurt you?â, he rambled. Aurora laughed at his quirkinessâIâm fine. Its proably my fault anyway. I really need to pay attention to where I am heading in the forest.â Aurora said with a smile on her face.

Lucas got relieved a little seeing the girl laugh. He smiled. âYeah, still sorry though. When I heard the rustle of leaves and footsteps, my first instinct was to throw a rock.â he said with a shrug. âI love spending my time here in the forest to take photos and all. But I havenât seen you here before. Are you here for a walk or something?â, he asked curiously holding his camera. âOops! I havenât introduced myself! Iâm Lucasâ, he smiled and held out his other hand.
But before the girl could take his hand, he spotted the grey winged black bird again on the other tree and ran toward there. âHey! Wait there you little beauty!â he foolishly yelled as he ran. The bird flied away again. I stopped and sighed. âGoneâ , he mumbled.

âItâs my fault. I shouldnât talk much here. I always scare them away. UghhâŠI wonât talk anymore!â, Lucas came back to Aurora while talking to himself. He knew too well he could not keep his words. It was almost impossible for him to stay quiet for long. Anyway he came back to Aurora and shook he hand in a friendly way. âNice to meet you, Aurora. You have a nice name and nice hair. I wanted to dye my hair into white but I couldnât find the time to do soâ, he said and shrugged. âYou donât mind me talking about your hair, do you?â, he added quickly. âOh no! Iâm no professional photographer. Iâm just an amateur. Iâm an university student who bunks the lectures too often and comes here in the mean time.â he chuckled. âI know I know. There are many places like that. This is one of them. Do you wanna to go to the other places with me? The best thing is, we donât even need to be quietâ, he explained excitedly.

I slowly nodded, nervous around new people. I stayed silent, gesturing to the blue stone and smiling. âItâs prettyâ I mouthed, walking out from behind the bush and grabbing my bike.

I frowned to Lucy. âIf you want we can go to my reserve for real and Iâll show you some birds of pray?â I suggest, feeling bad for her. "Just get her out of here, I donât care what you two will be doing. âCan I ask who your partner is though?â The guy asks. âSerena, but sheâs iâŠsomewhere elseâ I explain. âMind giving me your contacts so I can see if sheâs here and call you because we might need you here later on,â He said. I gave him a raised eyebrow. âIâll explain later, but not with her,â He said. I rolled my eyes and they walked off and I joined Lucy. âSoâŠbirds of pray?, I think we have a baby ravennnn?..â I chuckle

I grinned, a lot more comfortable now that it was just JB and I. âDefinitely. Corvus Corax are my favorite birds. I love all Corvids in general, but Corvus Corax are my favorite.â I said, getting on my bike. âLead the wayâ

âNo worries your not that heavy.â, she replied. Though that may change if we keep standing around she thought to herself. âno partner for meâ Carter said. It wasnât for his lack of trying it just hadnât worked out with those he had tried with already. âI hope I find them soonâ vixen was a little sad but pushed it aside to focus on where they were headed.

I smiled and grabbed my own bike as I saw the guy and the three wolves walk away. âI think I like a Western jackdaw more, or if weâre going to speak technical Corvus monedulaâ I chuckle and take my bike when all of a sudden I heard ruffling. âssh,â I tell her and listen then all of a sudden, a big wolf(Spyte) jumped on top of me and three other wolves walked slowly to Lucy.
âJust our luck guys, I think we just found our new helpersâŠâ a low voice said. I looked at the wolf on top of me who looked really dangerous. âLeave her out of this, she is just a normal human,â I tell him and he looks at me with narrow eyes.
âI didnât expect anything less, but hey, at least now we have a translatorâ He just said.
âSince youâre already partnered up, youâre utterly useless, so unless you want to end up as our food to be of any use for usâŠyou better help us,â he said and he puts his paw on my chest while the other three starts to growl at Lucy. âfine,â I said.
âGoodâ The wolf said satisfied.
âTell the girl I have an offer for her,â He said. âI know this sounds weird, but the wolf wants to offer you something,â I tell lucy and give her a look to tell her Iâm trying to keep everything under control and she shouldnât be scared.

He starts talking to the wolf as the other three growl menacingly at me. âH-how can you understand it? OkâŠwhat does it want? Wait, looks like a male because males are usually larger. Ok, what does he want?â I asked JB.

I took a deep breath trying to stay calm for us both. The wolf then threw a Stone to here. âThis is an Onyx, Itâs a solid version of my powers and I want her to be my partnerâ He explains and I repeat it to Lucy only changing âherâ to âyouâ. âIt will mean you can understand these wolves and get his powersâ I explain.
We arrived at the place after a short run, but just as I was about to greet Delia, I saw something in the corner of my eye. It were a boy and a girl trying to spy on Delia and the wolves. âOne secondâ I said and walked to them. I talked a little with them and found out the guy had a contact with a wolf. after I got a way to reach him, they left and I turned to Vixen, Carter and the quiet wolf. âLetâs goâ I tell them

The wolf tossed my an onyx stone, JB translating what he wanted. âOkâŠI accept.â I said, closing my hand gently around the onyx and sitting up, I had fallen in shock when the wolf jumped on JB.

What the hell was going on? Outcast here? Carter wasnât in any position to help the humans. Vixen jumped the wolf near the female human. It may have been to late to help but vixen had to try. The female accepted something but she didnât know what exactly

All of a sudden, Vixen ran off. âVixen!?â I yell and chase her only to find the two who were spying, not surrounded and under wolves. Vixen had attacked one of them but they all turned to Vixen now and got ready to attack her. âBrave girl for trying to interfear, foolish however for not counting your oddsâ The clear leader said as he walked to the girl so I jumped in between. âWho are you?â I asked. âNon of your concernsâ He growls and jumped to me, digging his teeth into my arm. I let out a yell, not really because it hurt that much, but it would alarm the others and Delia.

I whimpered and laid my head on the chill ground.
I couldnât mess this up. As much as I dreaded it, I followed Vâs orders and waited, trying my hardest to appear as a regular wolf.
My ears shot up as I heard another voice. Listening carefully, I assumed they were on our side.
I could see three wolves behind him, I could tell they were like us.
The humans retreated and the feelings of worry subsided.
The trees shook and an echoing yell imitated from nearby.
I looked around swiftly.
âScrew this.â I said and raced towards the yell.
