For different reasons I’ve done quite a few research on autism and I just want to say this is such a good thread, really helpful I think for people who have never been in touch with someone who has autism

My uncle is Diagnose with autism he’s not older than me. For example if I was 7 he would be one it’s just because of our weird family tree. Anyway he’s not stupid for say, he’s just really different. He has a speech teacher and other personal teachers. I can’t say much since I don’t really see him as often as I did when we was younger. I don’t know the symptoms or what makes him different. He could definitely be smarter than me and I won’t know it. The one memory I remember strongly is his strong obsession with superheroes TMNT especially. He would sit in front of the tv watching that one TMNT movie on replay forever. I usually just wouldn’t bother him and watch as he replay certain parts and play with his TMNT toys. I miss him, should probably get back in contact with my uncle.

That’s the most ignorant sh*t I’ve ever heard! Seriously, I’ll never understand why people feel the need to be so harsh on anyone with autism. One of my aunts actually insulted me just because I have autism…weird how I am the only member of the family that has it and I get heavily compared to the cousins that I really hate with a passion because of how they treat me.
