Discussion: Is Water Wet?

Water isn’t wet, and the reason to that is already said above.

So what? Do we call water dry then?

Nope, according to chemistry – dry elements or compounds are those which don’t have any water molecules in them at all! Such as dry ice, dry water (yes, that exists) etc. Water can’t be called dry because water is composed of water molecules itself.

confused? don’t worry, I am too, lol, but hope that this post won’t induce any drama :grimacing:

It’s almost like the words wet and dry are outdated terms no longer used in fluid dynamics

I don’t think drama will happen on this thread, don’t worry xD

If there was a chicken and the egg thread. That would be a housefire

i am confused as heel :high_heel:

Wet is an adjective, used to describe something. Water itself is not wet, once it hits something/someone, it makes that person wet. Therefore, water can be described as wet, but water itself is not wet.

I still think water isn’t wet, but part me thinks water could be wet.

no it is not.

Water IS WET.

I disagree

Water wets objects therefore water itself is not wet as this implies it was once dry

Oh!
