“I’m off to school, Mother.” Queen Cinderella barely looked up from the papers she was reading.
“That’s lovely, dear. Make sure to write if you need anything.”
Kai scowled and turned away from his mother. It was useless trying to get anything of substance out of her. His second year at OUH, and he was pretty sure his mom didn’t even know the name of the “fancy school” he went to.
With quick, brisk strides he headed towards the waiting carriage that would take him to school. Callie had left already, or perhaps she was still doing her makeup. He didn’t see much of his little sister now days. A carriage ride later, he was at the school. He ordered his footmen to carry in his luggage, and led them to his dorm. Once that task was finished, he dismissed them and changed into his school uniform. The first two periods flew by. He focused on his studies (and the pretty girls around him) but didn’t really speak to anyone. By third period, school was already getting boring. He didn’t recall doing nearly this much school last year. Perhaps he could play hooky for the rest of the day? It was the first day of school after all. No reason to work hard. He thoroughly contemplated the pros and cons of this idea as he walked the hallways after second bell. Maybe he should wait till after lunch…
