She coughed , and then let out a small chuckle ” Swearing doesn’t look good in front of the public " Tate had screeched during their wild goose chase. It was stupid how much people cared about the petty opinions of complete strangers. As she was keeling over, she felt a small petite hand press her back. ” Are you okay? You run fast” They said. A gentle concern filling their voice. ”Thanks , I hadn’t noticed” She replied , almost on autopilot . Come on amka, you can do better than that. They then panicked, seeing the paint on tate’s shoulder ”Who did you murder??” They yelped.

Amka tilted her head to tate , ” I don’t know sh*t.” she added. ” Well, ” Tay challenged ” Do any of you know me?” Her eyes gleefully observing Tate in particular. Amka wondered if they had any history together beyond being friends. By the way, if she could really float like that, shouldn’t more people know her? People became world-famous for doing things a fraction as impressive. Hell, anywhere else she’d have to go into hiding, or else she’d be the government’s new lab rat. It’s what amka had to do. But then again, this could all be an overly complicated experiment for people like the two of them, or maybe more. ”Yeah, ” Tate stated dryly. His brow furrowed. ” You were floating, right?” he asked. Amka felt a mix of relief and confusion wash over her. This proved she wasn’t seeing things. Tay really had floated and it was clear to everyone around that she had. But this clearly wasn’t news to the boy, he questioned with her more out of disappointment than disbelief. Was this just a normal occurrence to them? The rich kid decided to intervene and completely throw the only decent person under the bus. ” They have similar-ish hair to Tatum, so I see the resemblance from afar…” He Then patted kiku’s trembling shoulder with a condescending smile.
The Fcking nerve of this guy She thought. Anyone with a braincell knew tatum was the one floating. Not to mention the guy knew about the floating and was deliberately hiding it for his own gain. Either that or he was a really bad liar and pretending someone had floated.
” I’m calling mom and dad!” He declared. And that’s when all hell broke loose. Tay tackled him and the phone flew out of their hands . The boujee boy picked it up and cried ” Kiku! Catch!” as he flung the phone in their direction. While kiku fumbled a bit, they managed to catch the phone between their thumb and pinky finger. Amka rushed towards them. ”Sorry.” she said. Unlike the others, Kiku seemed like a genuinely nice person. She snatched the phone and placed it between her teeth as she leaped onto the tree and climbed to the highest branch. It tasted like plastic and sweat. Once she got as high as she could go she grabbed the phone and held it high above her head. ”Listen!” she shouted ” I don’t know what y’all’s deal is but, I didn’t run five miles for this to turn into a sh*tshow. . So you guys want to have the phone in the next…” She pretended to count ” Hundred years, I’d advise you to use your words. ”
She then looked at Tatum with daring eyes. ” And if a certain someone wants to use their magic powers I’m more than willing to kick your *ss” She smiled, shifting her canines into sharp fangs. Whether Tay liked it or not, she wasn’t the only one with powers. And In Once upon a High, she had nothing to hide.
